1Identification of coastal wetlands of international importance for waterbirds:a review of China Coastal Waterbird Surveys 2005–2013显示文摘Background:China's coastal wetlands belong to some of the most threatened ecosystems worldwide.The loss and degradation of these wetlands seriously threaten waterbirds that depend on wetlands.Methods:The China Coastal Waterbird Census was organized by volunteer birdwatchers in China's coastal region.Waterbirds were surveyed synchronously once every month at 14 sites,as well as irregularly at a further 18 sites,between September 2005 and December 2013.Results:A total of 75 species of waterbirds met the 1 % population level Ramsar listing criterion at least once at one site.The number of birds of the following species accounted for over 20 % of the total flyway populations at a single site:Mute Swan(Cygnus olor),Siberia Crane(Grus leucogeranus),Far Eastern Oystercatcher(Haematopus osculans),Bar-tailed Godwit(Limosa lapponica),Spotted Greenshank(Tringa guttifer),Great Knot(Calidris tenuirostris),Spoon-billed Sandpiper(Calidris pygmeus),Saunders' s Gull(Larus saundersi),Relict Gull(Larus relictus),Great Cormorant(Phalacrocorax carbo),Eurasian Spoonbill(Platalea leucorodia),Black-faced Spoonbill(Platalea minor) and Dalmatian Pelican(Pelecanus crispus).A total of 26 sites supported at least one species of which their number met the1 % criterion.Forty-two species met the 1 % criterion in the Yellow River Delta,Shandong;29 at the Cangzhou coast,Hebei and 26 species at the Lianyungang coast,Jiangsu.Conclusions:The results highlight the international importance of China's coastal wetlands for waterbirds.This study also demonstrates that participation of local birdwatchers in waterbird surveys results in data that are invaluable not only for understanding the current status of waterbirds in China's coastal regions but also for waterbird conservation and management.Qingquan Bai Jianzhong Chen Zhihong Chen Guotai Dong Jiangtian Dong Wenxiao Dong Vivian Wing Kan Fu Yongxiang Han Gang Lu Jing Li Yang Liu Zhi Lin Derong Meng Jonathan Martinez Guanghui Ni Kai Shan Renjie Sun Suixing Tian Fengqin Wang Zhiwei Xu Yat-tung Yu Jin Yang Zhidong Yang Lin Zhang Ming Zhang Xiangwu Zeng 2015Chinese Birds2015,,3:20
2China's Wetland Databases Based on Remote Sensing Technology显示文摘Wetland databases can provide the basic data that necessary for the protection and management of wetlands. A large number of wetland databases have been established in the world as well as in China. In this paper, we review China's wetland databases based on remote sensing(RS) technology after introducing the background theory to the application of RS technology in wetland surveys. A key conclusion is that China's wetland databases are far from sufficient in fulfilling protection and management needs. Our recommendations focus on the use of the hyper-spectral imagery, microwave data, multi-temporal images, and automatic classifications in order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of wetland inventory. Further, attention should also be paid to detect major biophysical features of wetlands and build wetland databases in years after the 1980 s in China. 37,8-Dihydroxyflavone suppresses proliferation and induces apoptosis of human osteosarcoma cells显示文摘Recent studies suggest that 7,8-dihydroxyflavone(7,8-DHF)inhibits the development of several tumors.However,its role in osteosarcoma(OS)remains unknown.This study was designed to investigate the effects and underlying mechanisms of 7,8-DHF that may influence OS development.Human OS cell lines(U2OS and 143B)were treated with 7,8-DHF;cell viability and cell migration were assessed by methylthiazolyldiphenyl-tetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay and wound-healing assay,respectively;and cell death and apoptosis were evaluated by LIVE/DEAD staining and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase(TdT)dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL)assay,respectively.Reactive oxygen species production was measured using 2,7-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate probe.Akt,Bcl-xL/Bcl-2 asociated death promoter(Bad),p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),extracellular regulated protein kinase(ERK),and c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)expression and their respective phosphorylation levels were detected by western blot analysis.We found that 7,8-DHF reduced cell viability in a dose-dependent manner and also promoted apoptosis,inhibited migration,and induced oxidative stress in OS cells.Moreover,7,8-DHF inhibited Akt,Bad,and p38MAPK,but activated ERK and JNK signals.In summary,our results suggest that 7,8-DHF inhibits OS progression,possibly by regulating Akt/Bad and MAPK signaling.These findings provide new evidence for the pharmacological effects of 7,8-DHF that may improve drug therapy for OS patients.Jing Zhao Peifeng Li Hua Zhu Fengqin Ge Jie Liu Jingjun Xia Pengzhou Hang 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,7:3

5Corrosion Behavior and Protection Efficiency of 2024Al and SiC_p/2024Al Metal Matrix Composite显示文摘The corrosion resistance of 2024 Al and SiC particle reinforced 2024 Al metal matrix composite (SiCp/2024Al MMC)in 3.5% NaCl solution was investigated with electrochemical method and immersion test, and the corrosion protection of sulfuric acid anodized coatings on both materials was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that the SiCp/2024Al MMC is more susceptible to corrosion than its matrix alloy in 3.5% NaCl.For 2024Al, the anodized coating provides excellent corrosion resistance to 3.5% NaCl. 6COVID-19 Outbreaks Linked to Imported Frozen Food in China:Status and Challege显示文摘Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)RNA contamination was reported on China’s imported frozen foods and packaging materials.However,there was no evidence of this disease initiated by environment-to-human transmission until the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in Beijing in June 2020.This article aimed to analyze and summarize COVID-19 outbreaks related to cold-chain foods to provide a scientific basis for tracing the epidemiological trajectory of the pandemic,providing risk assessments,and mitigation policies.Overall,37 COVID-19 outbreaks and 5,741 infected cases were reported within the study period.It was found that 7 outbreaks and 689 cases were linked to imported frozen foods.The first index case among the 7 outbreaks was exposed to SARS-CoV-2-contaminated outer packaging of frozen food,triggering the subsequent community transmission.This study supported the speculation that cold-chain foods act as a pathway for SARS-CoV-2 and might present a risk for virus transmission between countries and regions.Handlers and processors exposed to the imported frozen foods should be effectively self-protected,daily monitored for clinical manifestations of COVID-19,and tested for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid at regular intervals.Jiahui Wang Fengqin Li Zhaoping Liu Ning Li 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,22:2

8Flow zone distribution and mixing time in a Peirce-Smith copper converter显示文摘Peirce-Smith copper converting involves complex multiphase flow and mixing.In this work,the flow zone distribution and mixing time in a Peirce-Smith copper converter were investigated in a 1:5 scaled cold model.Flow field distribution,including dead,splashing,and strong-loop zones,were measured,and a dimensionless equation was established to determine the correlation of the effects of stirring and mixing energy with an error of<5%.Four positions in the bath,namely,injection,splashing,strong-loop,and dead zones,were selected to add a hollow salt powder tracer and measure the mixing time.Injecting a quartz flux through tuyeres or into the backflow point of the splashing wave through a chute was recommended instead of adding it through a crane hopper from the top of the furnace to improve the slag-making reaction.Hongliang Zhao Jingqi Wang Fengqin Liu Hong Yong Sohn 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,1:2

18Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 Contamination in Frozen Food-Related Samples--China,July 2020-July 2021显示文摘Introduction:Current evidence shows that coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is neither a food safety issue nor a foodborne disease.However,the outbreaks of this disease in workers of meat-or poultry-processing plants and food markets have been reported in many countries.Systematic reports on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)contamination in food-related samples worldwide are lacking so far.This study aimed to survey and monitor SARS-CoV-2 contamination in samples of foods or their packaging,storage environment,and employees,as well as explore the possible potential for virus transmission via frozen foods.Methods:Swabs of frozen food-related samples were collected between July 2020 and July 2021 in 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)and Xinjiang Construction Corps in China.The SARSCoV-2 RNAs were extracted and analyzed by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction using the commercially available SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test kit.Results:More than 55.83 million samples were analyzed,and 1,455(0.26 per 10,000)were found to be positive for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid.Among the virus-positive samples,96.41%(1,398/1,450)and 3.59%(52/1,450)were food/food packaging materials and environment,respectively.As for 1,398 SARS-CoV-2-positive food and food packaging materials,99.50%,(1,391/1,398)were imported and 7 were domestic.The outer packaging of food was frequently contaminated by the virus 78.75%(1,101/1,398).Conclusions:Our study supported speculation that cold-chain foods might act as the SARS-CoV-2 carrier,and food handlers/operators were at high risk of exposure to the virus.It is necessary to carry out a comprehensive mass testing for SARS-CoV-2 nuclei acid,along with contact tracing and symptom screening in cold-chain food handlers and processors so as to identify high proportions of asymptomatic or presymptomatic infections.Meanwhile,research and development of effective self-protection equipment available at a temperature below−18℃is urgent.Fengqin Li Jiahui Wang Zhaoping Liu Ning Li 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,22:1
