1Leaching ion adsorption rare earth by aluminum sulfate for increasing efficiency and lowering the environmental impact显示文摘The leaching efficiency(LE) of ion adsorption rare earth(IARE) by the sulfate and chloride of ammonium,magnesium and aluminum were comparatively determined using column leaching method. It is found that at equal equivalent concentration of cation, the LE of IARE by aluminum sulfate is the highest, and the zeta potential of clay mineral particles in the tailing is near to zero, which means a lower risk of landslide and pollutant emission. Furthermore, the optimum concentration of aluminum sulfate is determined to be0.02 mol/L, which is much lower than that of ammonium sulfate and magnesium sulfate. To reduce the production cost and environmental impact, we proposed a multi-stage leaching process, which was firstly leaching with ammonium sulfate and then with aluminum sulfate, following by water washing and lime neutralizing. With the ratio of ammonium sulfate to aluminum sulfate varying from 1:0 to 0.5:0.5, the residual ammonium in tailing decreases from 11.2% to 0.6%, however, the LE of RE shows an optimum value at 0.8:0.2. By neutralizing the pH of tailing with lime water to over 6, the ion concentration in water rinsing solution can meet the requirement for water discharge. At the same time, the zeta potential of clay particles is found to be around-5 mV, means a relatively lower risk of landslide. 3A method of predicting visual detectability of low-velocity impact damage in composite structures based on logistic regression model显示文摘This paper proposed a new method for quantitative assessment of visual detectability of damage based on logistic regression,using the Probability of Detection(POD)as a criterion.Experiments were performed to establish the massive hit/miss data of visual inspection.Authoritative investigations verified the reliability of the data.The prediction function concluded comprises more than one flaw size parameters,including the depth and diameter of the dents.The results show that the depth and diameter of the dents are pivotal for the evaluation of detectability;the type of detection,the detection distance,and the qualifications of personnel are critical external factors to be considered.This function,with an accuracy rate of nearly 85%,is capable of predicting the visual detection probability of impact damage under various detection environments,which will provide a reference for the damage tolerance design of composite materials and field maintenance in the NonDestructive Testing(NDT)field.Fengyang JIANG Zhidong GUAN Zengshan LI Xiaodong WANG 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,1:2
4Cyclophosphamide abrogates the expansion of CD4^(+)Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cells and enhances the efficacy of bleomycin in the treatment of mouse B16-F10 melanomas显示文摘Objective:Promotion of the proliferative expansion of CD4^(+)Foxp3^(+)regulatory T cells(Tregs)is one of the side effects that limits the use of bleomycin(BLM)in the treatment of tumors.In this study,we examined the hypothesis that cyclophosphamide(CY),a chemotherapeutic agent with the capacity to eliminate tumor infiltrating Tregs,abrogated BLM-induced expansion of Tregs and consequently resulted in a better anti-tumor effect.Methods:The in vitro effects of BLM,with or without mafosfamide(MAF,the active metabolite of CY),on both TGF-β-induced differentiation of Tregs(iTregs),and TNF-induced expansion of naturally occurring Tregs(nTregs)were assessed.The in vivo effect of low doses of BLM and CY on tumor-infiltrating Tregs,as well as on the growth of mouse B16-F10 melanomas,was also studied.Results:In vitro treatment with BLM promoted the differentiation of iTregs,as well as TNF-induced expansion of nTregs.These effects of BLM were completely abrogated by MAF.Furthermore,in the mouse B16-F10 melanoma model,treatment with low doses of BLM increased the number of tumor-infiltrating Tregs,and this effect of BLM was also abrogated by CY.Importantly,combination therapy with low doses of BLM and CY showed synergistic anti-tumor effects.Conclusions:CY abrogated the effect of BLM on the expansion of Tregs.The combination of these 2 chemotherapeutic agents may represent a safer and more effective therapy in the treatment of cancer patients,and thus merits future clinical evaluation.Ping Li Fengyang Chen Jingbin Zheng Yang Yang Yuan Li Yifei Wang Xin Chen 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,4:1

6A hydroxyl radical detection system using gas expansion and fast gating laser-induced fluorescence techniques显示文摘An OH radical measurement instrument based on Fluorescence Assay by Gas Expansion(FAGE)has been developed in our laboratory.Ambient air is introduced into a low-pressure fluorescence cell through a pinhole aperture and irradiated by a dye laser at a high repetition rate of 8.5 k Hz.The OH radical is both excited and detected at 308 nm using A-X(0,0)band.To satisfy the high efficiency needs of fluorescence collection and detection,a 4-lens optical system and a self-designed gated photomultiplier(PMT)is used,and gating is actualized by switching the voltage applied on the PMT dynodes.A micro channel photomultiplier(MCP)is also prepared for fluorescence detection.Then the weak signal is accumulated by a photon counter in a specific timing.The OH radical excitation spectrum range in the wavelength of 307.82–308.2 nm is detected and the excited line for OH detection is determined to be Q_1(2)line.The calibration of the FAGE system is researched by using simultaneous photolysis of H_2O and O_2.The minimum detection limit of the instrument using gated PMT is determined to be 9.4×10~5molecules/cm^3,and the sensitivity is 9.5×10^(-7)cps/(OH·cm^(-3)),with a signal-to-noise ratio of 2 and an integration time of 60 sec,while OH detection limit and the detection sensitivity using MCP is calculated to be 1.6×10~5molecules/cm^3and 2.3×10^(-6)cps/(OH·cm^(-3)).The laboratory OH radical measurement is carried out and results show that the proposed system can be used for atmospheric OH radical measurement.Hao Chen Renzhi Hu Pinhua Xie Xingbiao Xing Liuyi Ling Zhiyan Li Fengyang Wang Yihui Wang Jianguo Liu Wenqing Liu 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3:1

9High-Frequency Sequence Stratigraphy and Fine-Scale Reservoir Characterization of the Devonian Sandstone, Donghe Formation, North Uplift of the Tarim Basin显示文摘The Devonian Donghe Sandstone complex in North Uplift of the Tarim Basin comprises of a series of diachronous sandy intervals deposited from the Late Devonian to Early Mississippian. They are constrained by a Late Devonian to Early Pennsylvanian 2 nd-order supersequence and can be subdivided into five 3 rd-order sequences, namely, S1, S2, S3, S4, and S5, from the oldest to youngest. Cores from four wells, 40 wireline logs, 410 thin sections, and porosity and permeability data from 639 spots from four wells were used to study the sediment provenance, build up the sequence-stratigraphic model of S5, and characterize the reservoirs at a feet scale. Detrital modes of sandstone from point counting indicate that Donghe Sandstone is directly sourced from recycled orogeny. The low content of feldspar and volcanic rock fragments suggests that Donghe Sandstone is recycled from sediment with a cratonic ultimate source. 1 D and 2 D chronostratigraphic correlation shows that at least 12 4 th-order highfrequency sequences(HFSs), from the oldest HFS1 to the youngest HFS12, can be recognized in S5. Each HFS is characterized by a general trend of shallowing-upward facies assemblage. Sequence boundaries were defined at where regionally correlatable deep-water facies overlaying shallow-water facies. There is a general shallowing-upward trend in the S5 3 rd-order sequence, characterized by a systematically increasing proportion of shallow-water facies(foreshore and upper shoreface), and a decreasing proportion of deep facies(offshore transition and lower shoreface). The shallowing-upward trend within both 3 rd-and 4 th-order sequences is resulted from a combined effect of eustatic sea-level change, tectonic activity, and sediment supply. The sequence-stratigraphic model of Donghe Sandstone S5 is similar to the rift-basin sequence-stratigraphic model. Sweet spots were defined as porosity >15% and permeability >100 md intervals, and their distribution and lateral continuity were investigated. 12A new diatom genus Spargeria gen.nov.(Bacillariophyceae)from Xizang,China,and the description of two new species显示文摘During our investigation of diatom biodiversity in Xizang,two species exhibited unique morphological features discriminative from all previously known genera.Herein we describe these two species and describe as new the genus,Spargeria gen.nov.The new genus features narrow to wide rectangular valves,narrow valve mantles,filiform raphe branches that occur on the valve face only,terminal raphe fissures straight or slightly deflected to same side,bow-tie shaped central areas,chambered striae present on the valve face only,being absent from the mantle,wider striae near the axial area and very narrow near the margin,multiseriate striae with small and round areolae that are occluded externally.Comparatively,Spargeria zhuii sp.nov.has larger and robust valves,radiate striae,with one divergent stria near the apices,while Spargeria chenia sp.nov.is smaller,with narrow valves,striae slightly radiate in the middle,becoming convergent or parallel near apices.This new genus belongs to the family Pinnulariaceae,and it was compared and contrasted with other genera of this family.Our work suggests the need for continued studies to document the biodiversity of diatoms in Xizang.Yan LIU John Patrick KOCIOLEK Li WANG Xinxin LU Huan ZHU Guoxiang LIU Fengyang SUI Yawen FAN 2024Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2024,42,1:0
13CD97 inhibits osteoclast differentiation via Rap1a/ERK pathway under compression显示文摘Acceleration of tooth movement during orthodontic treatment is challenging, with osteoclast-mediated bone resorption on the compressive side being the rate-limiting step. Recent studies have demonstrated that mechanoreceptors on the surface of monocytes/macrophages, especially adhesion G protein-coupled receptors (aGPCRs), play important roles in force sensing.However, its role in the regulation of osteoclast differentiation remains unclear. Herein, through single-cell analysis, we revealed that CD97, a novel mechanosensitive aGPCR, was expressed in macrophages. Compression upregulated CD97 expression and inhibited osteoclast differentiation;while knockdown of CD97 partially rescued osteoclast differentiation. It suggests that CD97 may be an important mechanosensitive receptor during osteoclast differentiation. RNA sequencing analysis showed that the Rap1a/ERK signalling pathway mediates the effects of CD97 on osteoclast differentiation under compression. Consistently, we clarified that administration of the Rap1a inhibitor GGTI298 increased osteoclast activity, thereby accelerating tooth movement. 15A pair of transporters controls mitochondrial Zn^(2+) levels to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis显示文摘Zn^(2+)is required for the activity of many mitochondrial proteins,which regulate mitochondrial dynamics,apoptosis and mitophagy.However,it is not understood how the proper mitochondrial Zn^(2+)level is achieved to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis.Using Caenorhabditis elegans,we reveal here that a pair of mitochondrion-localized transporters controls the mitochondrial level of Zn^(2+).We demonstrate that SLC-30A9/ZnT9 is a mitochondrial Zn^(2+)exporter.Loss of SLC-30A9 leads to mitochondrial Zn^(2+)accumulation,which damages mitochondria,impairs animal development and shortens the life span.We further identify SLC-25A25/SCaMC-2 as an important regulator of mitochondrial Zn^(2+)import.Loss of SLC-25A25 suppresses the abnormal mitochondrial Zn^(2+)accumulation and defective mitochondrial structure and functions caused by loss of SLC-30A9.Moreover,we reveal that the endoplasmic reticulum contains the Zn^(2+)pool from which mitochondrial Zn^(2+)is imported.These findings establish the molecular basis for controlling the correct mitochondrial levels for normal mitochondrial structure and functions.Tengfei Ma Liyuan Zhao Jie Zhang Ruofeng Tang Xin Wang Nan Liu Qian Zhang Fengyang Wang Meijiao Li Qian Shan Yang Yang Qiuyuan Yin Limei Yang Qiwen Gan Chonglin Yang 2022Protein & Cell2022,13,3:0
