1Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery in urology: The Chinese experience显示文摘Objective:To describe the Chinese experience of natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery(NOTES)in urology.Methods:From December 2008 to May 2017,35 animal experiments and 305 clinical surgeries of NOTES or natural orifices specimen extractions(NOSE)were performed in China.The animal experiments included five kidney biopsies,24 nephrectomies and six partial nephrectomies.The clinical surgeries included 12 transvaginal NOSE(TV-NOSE),266 hybrid transvaginal NOTES(TV-NOTES)and 27 pure TV-NOTES.The TV-NOSE procedure was performed in five transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site(U-LESS)nephrectomies,four suprapubic-assisted laparoendoscopic single-site surgery(SA-LESS)nephroureterectomies,and three laparoscopic radical cystectomies.The hybrid TV-NOTES procedure included 210 nephrectomies,31 adrenalectomies,eight nephroureterectomies,13 partial nephrectomies,and four heminephrectomies.The pure TV-NOTES procedure included five renal cyst decortications and 22 nephrectomies.Results:A total of 29 animal experiments were successfully performed.One partial nephrectomy was converted to standard laparoscopic surgery.Two kidney biopsies and two nephrectomies were unsuccessful.A total of 297 clinical surgeries were successfully performed.Six patients who underwent hybrid TV-NOTES were converted to open surgery.Two patients who underwent pure TV-NOTES were converted to SA-LESS.There were 22 major complications,16 occurred intraoperatively and six postoperatively.The mean visual analog score(VAS)of 48 h after the operation was 2.5 points in TV-NOSE,2.3 points in hybrid TV-NOTES and 1.7 points in pure TV-NOTES.The mean follow-up of 50.6(3.0-87.0)months showed that all patients were in good condition.The umbilicus scars were nearly invisible in TV-NOSE and hybrid TV-NOTES.The vaginal incision healed well.Conclusions:TV-NOSE and TV-NOTES are feasible,safe,and effective with little injury,low pain,fast recovery,and good cosmetic outcomes in properly selected patients.They are worth consideration for urological clinical practice.Xiaofeng Zou Guoxi Zhang Tianpeng Xie Yuanhu Yuan Rihai Xiao Gengqing Wu Xiaoning Wang Hui Xu Folin Liu Yuting Wu Yunfeng Liao Quanliang Liu Yinghao Sun Bo Yang Linhui Wang Chuanliang Xu Xiaofeng Gao 2020Asian Journal of Urology2020,7,1:5
2Influences of multiphoton absorption and freecarrier effects on frequency-comb generation in normal dispersion silicon microresonators显示文摘We investigate frequency-comb generation in normal dispersion silicon microresonators from the near-infrared to mid-infrared wavelength range in the presence of multiphoton absorption and free-carrier effects. It is found that parametric oscillation is inhibited in the telecom wavelength range resulting from strong two-photon absorption.On the contrary, beyond the wavelength of 2200 nm, where three-and four-photon absorption are less detrimental,a comb can be generated with moderate pump power, or free-carriers are swept out by a positive-intrinsic-negative structure. In the temporal domain, the generated combs correspond to flat-top pulses, and the pulse duration can be easily controlled by varying the laser detuning. The reported comb generation process shows a high conversion efficiency compared with anomalous dispersion regime, which can guide and promote comb formation in materials with normal dispersion. 3Study on the ore-forming and ore-controlling structure of the Mujicun Cu (Mo) ore deposit, Hebei Province, China显示文摘The Mujicun Cu (Mo) ore deposit at Laiyuan, Hebei Province, is a currently proven large-sized Cu (Mo) polymetallic ore deposit and it is located in the second-ordered fault depression basin of the ditachment belt on the hanging-wall on the western side at the juncture of the Laiyuan dumbell-shaped complex in the northern part of the Fuping mantle-branch structure. Metallogenesis is controlled by diorite porphyrite in intrusive relation with the fault depression basin and other relevant fault structure systems and intenstive wall-rock alteration zones. This study, in conjunction with the most recent exploration data, analyzed the geological background of metallogenesis of this deposit, summaried the geological characteristics of typical ore deposits, determined the alteration zonation of the deposit, investigated regional metallogenesis and the genesis of typical ore deposits, discussed the regional ore-forming and ore-controlling structures, and generalized the regional ore-controlling model and metallogenic model of the deposit. 5Manipulation of light in MIM plasmonic waveguide systems显示文摘Plasmonic waveguides that allow deeply subwavelength confinement of light provide an effective platform for the design of ultracompact photonic devices.As an important plasmonic waveguide,metal-insulator-metal(MIM)structure supports the propagation of light in the nanoscale regime at the visible and near-infrared ranges.Here,we focus on our work in MIM plasmonic waveguide devices for manipulating light,and review some of the recent development of this topic.We introduce MIM plasmonic wavelength filtering and demultiplexing devices,and present the electromagnetic induced transparency(EIT)-like and Fano resonance effects in MIM waveguide systems.The slow-light and rainbow trapping effects are demonstrated theoretically.These results pave a way toward dynamic control of the special and useful optical responses,which actualize some new plasmonic waveguide-integrated devices such as nanoscale filters,demultiplexers,sensors,slow light waveguides,and buffers.LU Hua WANG GuoXi LIU XueMing 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,30:2

9Oncolytic Activity of Wild-type Newcastle Disease Virus HK84 Against Hepatocellular Carcinoma Associated with Activation of Type I Interferon Signaling显示文摘Background and Aims:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is listed as one of the most common causes of cancer-related death.Oncolytic therapy has become a promising treatment because of novel immunotherapies and gene editing technology,but biosafety concerns remain the biggest limitation for clinical application.We studied the the antitumor activity and biosafety of the wild-type Newcastle disease virus HK84 strain(NDV/HK84)and 10 other NDV strains.Meth-ods:Cell proliferation and apoptosis were determined by cell counting Kit-8 and fluorescein isothiocyanate Annexin V apoptosis assays.Colony formation,wound healing,and a xenograft mouse model were used to evaluate in vivo and in vitro oncolytic effectiveness.The safety of NDV/HK84 was tested in nude mice by an in vivo luciferase imaging system.The replication kinetics of NDV/HK84 in normal tis-sues and tumors were evaluated by infectious-dose assays in eggs.RNA sequencing analysis was performed to explore NDV/HK84 activity and was validated by quantitative real-time PCR.Results:The cell counting Kit-8 assays of vi-ability found that the oncolytic activity of the NDV strains differed with the multiplicity of infection(MOI).At an MOI of 20,the oncolytic activity of all NDV strains except the DK/JX/21358/08 strain was>80%.The oncolytic activities of the NDV/HK84 and DK/JX/8224/04 strains were>80%at both MOI=20 and MOI=2.Only NDV/HK84 had>80%oncolytic activities at both MOI=20 and MOI=2.We chose NDV/HK84 as the candidate virus to test the oncolytic effect of NDV in HCC in the in vitro and in vivo experiments.NDV/HK84 killed human SK-HEP-1 HCC cells without affecting healthy cells.Conclusions:Intratumor infection with NDV/HK84 strains compared with vehicle controls or positive controls indicated that NDV/HK84 strain specifically inhib-ited HCC without affecting healthy mice.High-throughput RNA sequencing showed that the oncolytic activity of NDV/HK84 was dependent on the activation of type I interferon signaling.Liming Chen Yongdong Niu Jiating Sun Hong Lin Guoxi Liang Min Xiao Dongmei Shi Jia Wang Huachen Zhu Yi Guan 2022Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,2:1

12Titanium carbide nanosheets with defect structure for photothermal-enhanced sonodynamic therapy显示文摘Sonodynamic therapy(SDT)has attracted widespread interest in biomedicine,owing to its novel and noninvasive therapeutic method triggered by ultrasound(US).Herein,the Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene nanosheets(Ti_(3)C_(2) NSs)are developed as good sonosensitizers via a two-step method of chemical exfoliation and high-temperature treatment.With the high-temperature treatment,the oxygen defect of Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene nanosheets(H-Ti_(3)C_(2) NSs)is greatly increased.Therefore,the electron(e^(-))and hole(h^(+))generated by US can be separated faster due to the improved degree of oxidation,and then the recombination of e^(-)-h^(+)can be prevented with the abundant oxygen defect under US irradiation,which induced the sonodynamic efficiency greatly to improve around 3.7-fold compared with Ti_(3)C_(2) NSs without high-temperature treatment.After PEGylation,the H-Ti_(3)C_(2)-PEG NSs show good stability and biocompatibility.In vitro studies exhibit that the inherent property of mild photothermal effect can promote the endocytosis of H-Ti_(3)C_(2)-PEG NSs,which can improve the SDT efficacy.In vivo studies further display that the increased blood supply by the mild photothermal effect can significantly relieve hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment,showing photothermal therapy(PTT)enhanced SDT.Most importantly,the H-Ti_(3)C_(2)-PEG NSs can be biodegraded and excreted out of the body,showing no significant long-term toxicity.Our work develops the defective H-Ti_(3)C_(2) NSs as high-efficiency and safe sonosensitizers for photothermal-enhanced SDT of cancer,extending the biomedical application of MXene-based nanoplatforms.Guangqiang Li Xiaoyan Zhong Xianwen Wang Fei Gong Huali Lei Yangkai Zhou Chengfei Li Zhidong Xiao Guoxi Ren Liang Zhang Zhiqiang Dong Zhuang Liu Liang Cheng 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,2:1

15Highly sensitive piezoresistive and thermally responsive fibrous networks from the in situ growth of PEDOT on MWCNT-decorated electrospun PU fibers for pressure and temperature sensing显示文摘Flexible electronics have demonstrated various strategies to enhance the sensory ability for tactile perception and wearable physiological monitoring.Fibrous microstructures have attracted much interest because of their excellent mechanical properties and fabricability.Herein,a structurally robust fibrous mat was first fabricated by electrospinning,followed by a sequential process of functionalization utilizing ultrasonication treatment and in situ polymerization growth.Electrospun polyurethane(PU)microfibers were anchored with multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)to form conductive paths along each fiber by a scalable ultrasonic cavitation treatment in an MWCNT suspension.After,a layer of poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)(PEDOT)was grown on the surface of PU fibers decorated with MWCNTs to enhance the conductive conjunctions of MWCNTs.Due to the superior electromechanical behaviors and mechanical reinforcement of PEDOT,the PEDOT/MWCNT@PU mat-based device exhibits a wide working range(0–70 kPa),high sensitivity(1.6 kPa−1),and good mechanical robustness(over 18,000 cycles).The PEDOT/MWCNT@PU mat-based sensor also demonstrates a good linear response to different temperature variations because of the thermoelectricity of the PEDOT/MWCNT composite.This novel strategy for the fabrication of multifunctional fibrous mats provides a promising opportunity for future applications for high-performance wearable devices.Yunyun Luo Libo Zhao Guoxi Luo Linxi Dong Yong Xia Min Li Ziping Li Kaifei Wang Ryutaro Maeda Zhuangde Jiang 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,5:0

17Noninvasive fluid bubble detection based on capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers显示文摘Ultrasonic fluid bubble detection is important in industrial controls,aerospace systems and clinical medicine because it can prevent fatal mechanical failures and threats to life.However,current ultrasonic technologies for bubble detection are based on conventional bulk PZT-based transducers,which suffer from large size,high power consumption and poor integration with ICs and thus are unable to implement real-time and long-term monitoring in tight physical spaces,such as in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)systems and dialysis machines or hydraulic systems in aircraft.This work highlights the prospect of capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers(CMUTs)in the aforementioned application situations based on the mechanism of received voltage variation caused by bubble-induced acoustic energy attenuation.The corresponding theories are established and well validated using finite element simulations.The fluid bubbles inside a pipe with a diameter as small as 8 mm are successfully measured using our fabricated CMUT chips with a resonant frequency of 1.1 MHz.The received voltage variation increases significantly with increasing bubble radii in the range of 0.5–2.5 mm.Further studies show that other factors,such as bubble positions,flow velocities,fluid medium types,pipe thicknesses and diameters,have negligible effects on fluid bubble measurement,demonstrating the feasibility and robustness of the CMUT-based ultrasonic bubble detection technique.Jiawei Yuan Zhikang Li Qi Ma Jie Li Zixuan Li Yihe Zhao Shaohui Qin Xuan Shi Libo Zhao Ping Yang Guoxi Luo Xiaozhang Wang Kwok Siong Teh Zhuangde Jiang 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,1:0
18Piezoelectric-AIN resonators at two-dimensional flexural modes for the density and viscosity decoupled determination of liquids显示文摘A micromachined resonator immersed in liquid provides valuable resonance parameters for determining the fluidic parameters.However,the liquid operating environment poses a challenge to maintaining a fine sensing performance,particularly through electrical characterization.This paper presents a piezoelectric micromachined cantilever with a stepped shape for liquid monitoring purposes.Multiple modes of the proposed cantilever are available with full electrical characterization for realizing self-actuated and seif-sensing capabilities.The focus is on higher flexural resonances,which nonconventionally feature two-dimensional vibration modes.Modal analyses are conducted for the developed cantilever under flexural vibrations at different orders.Modeling explains not only the basic length-dominant mode but also higher modes that simultaneously depend on the length and width of the cantilever.This study determines that the analytical predictions for resonant frequency in liquid media exhibit good agreement with the experimental results.Furthermore,the experiments on cantilever resonators are performed in various test liquids,demonstrating that higher-order flexural modes allow for the decoupled measurements of density and viscosity.The measurement differences achieve 0.39%in density and 3.50%in viscosity,and the frequency instability is below 0.05%o.On the basis of these results,design guidelines for piezoelectric higher-mode resonators are proposed for liquid sensing.Linya Huang Wei Li Guoxi Luo Dejiang Lu Libo Zhao Ping Yang Xiaozhang Wang Jiuhong Wang Qijing Lin Zhuangde Jiang 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,2:0
