2Size and elemental composition of dry-deposited particles during a severe dust storm at a coastal site of Eastern China显示文摘Dry-deposited particles were collected during the passage of an extremely strong dust storm in March, 2010 at a coastal site in Qingdao(36.15°N, 120.49°E), a city located in Eastern China. The size, morphology, and elemental composition of the particles were quantified with a scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray instrument(SEM–EDX). The particles appeared in various shapes, and their size mainly varied from 0.4to 10 μm, with the mean diameters of 0.5, 1.5, and 1.0 μm before, during, and after the dust storm, respectively. The critical size of the mineral particles settling on the surface in the current case was about 0.3–0.4 μm before the dust storm and about 0.5–0.7 μm during the dust storm. Particles that appeared in high concentration but were smaller than the critical size deposited onto the surface at a small number flux. The elements Al, Si and Mg were frequently detected in all samples, indicating the dominance of mineral particles. The frequency of Al in particles collected before the dust storm was significantly lower than for those collected during and after the dust storm. The frequencies of Cl and Fe did not show obvious changes, while those of S, K and Ca decreased after the dust arrival. 3Magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effects in amorphous and crystalline Gd_(55)Co_(35)Ni_(10) ribbons显示文摘The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effects of amorphous and crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons are investigated.A main phase with a Ho 12 Co 7-type monoclinic structure(space group P21/c) and a minor phase with a Ho4Co3-type hexagonal structure(space group P63/m) are obtained for crystalline ribbon after annealing.The amorphous ribbons order ferromagnetically and undergo a second-order transition at 192 K.For crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons,two magnetic phase transitions occur at 158 and 214 K,respectively.The peak value of-△SM under a field change of 0-5 T is 6.5 J/kg K at 192 K for amorphous Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons.A relatively large magnetic entropy change(~5.0 J/kg K) under a field change of 0-5 T for the crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons is obtained in the temperature interval range of 154-214 K.The large platform of magnetic entropy change and the negligible thermal/magnetic hysteresis loss mean the crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 compound can satisfy the requirement of the Ericsson-type refrigerator working in the temperature range from 154K to 214K.ZHONG XiChun TANG PengFei GAO BeiBei MIN JiXiong LIU ZhongWu ZHENG ZhiGang ZENG DeChang YU HongYa QIU WanQi 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:3

5Fractal Design Boosts Extrusion-Based 3D Printing of Bone-Mimicking Radial-Gradient Scaffolds显示文摘Although extrusion-based three-dimensional(EB-3D)printing technique has been widely used in the complex fabrication of bone tissue-engineered scaffolds,a natural bone-like radial-gradient scaffold by this processing method is of huge challenge and still unmet.Inspired by a typical fractal structure of Koch snowflake,for the first time,a fractal-like porous scaffold with a controllable hierarchical gradient in the radial direction is presented via fractal design and then implemented by EB-3D printing.This radial-gradient structure successfully mimics the radially gradual decrease in porosity of natural bone from cancellous bone to cortical bone.First,we create a design-to-fabrication workflow with embedding the graded data on basis of fractal design into digital processing to instruct the extrusion process of fractal-like scaffolds.Further,by a combination of suitable extruded inks,a series of bone-mimicking scaffolds with a 3-iteration fractal-like structure are fabricated to demonstrate their superiority,including radial porosity,mechanical property,and permeability.This study showcases a robust strategy to overcome the limitations of conventional EB-3D printers for the design and fabrication of functionally graded scaffolds,showing great potential in bone tissue engineering.Huawei Qu Zhenyu Han Zhigang Chen Lan Tang Chongjian Gao Kaizheng Liu Haobo Pan Hongya Fu Changshun Ruan 2021Research2021,,1:2
