| 1 | Direct and green repairing of degraded LiCoO_(2) for reuse in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Traditional recycling processes of LiCoO_(2) rely on destructive decomposition,requiring high-temperature roasting or acid leaching to extract valuable Li and Co,which have significant environmental and economic concerns.Herein,a direct repairing method for degraded LiCoO_(2) using a LiCl–CH_(4)N_(2)O deep eutectic solvent(DES)was established.The DES is not used to dissolve LiCoO_(2) but directly serves as a carrier for the selective replenishment of lithium and cobalt.Replenishment of lithium restores LiCoO_(2) at different states of charge to a capacity of 130 m Ah/g(at 0.1 C rate),while replenishing the cobalt increases the capacity retention rate of 90%after 100 cycles,which is comparable to pristine LiCoO_(2).The DES is collected and reused multiple times with a high repair efficiency.This process reduces energy consumption by 37.1%and greenhouse gas emissions by 34.8%compared with the current production process of LiCoO_(2),demonstrating excellent environmental and economic viability. | Junxiong Wang Qi Zhang Jinzhi Sheng Zheng Liang Jun Ma Yuanmao Chen Guangmin Zhou Hui-Ming Cheng | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,8: | 4 |

| 5 | Rhodauricanol A, an analgesic diterpenoid with an unprecedented5/6/5/7 tetracyclic system featuring a unique16-oxa-tetracyclo[11.2.1.0^(1,5).0^(7,13)]hexadecane core from Rhododendron dauricum显示文摘A novel diterpenoid with an unprecedented 5/6/5/7 tetracyclic system, rhodauricanol A(1), five new grayanane-derived diterpenoids, dauricanols A-E(2-6), and five known ones(7-11) were isolated from the flowers of Rhododendron dauricum. Rhodauricanol A(1) possesses a unique 5/6/5/7 tetracyclic ring system featuring a 16-oxa-tetracyclo[11.2.1.0^(1,5).0^(7,13)]hexadecane core. Dauricanols A-C(2-4) are the first1,3-dioxolane conjugates of grayanane diterpenoids and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and vanillin, respectively, and dauricanols D(5) and E(6) represent the first examples of 6-deoxy-1,5-seco-grayanane diterpenoids. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods, quantum chemical calculation including ^(13)C NMR-DP4+ analysis and ECD calculation, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Plausible biosynthetic pathways for 1-4 were proposed. | 6 | Fast Remaining Capacity Estimation for Lithium-ion Batteries Based on Short-time Pulse Test and Gaussian Process Regression显示文摘It remains challenging to effectively estimate the remaining capacity of the secondary lithium-ion batteries that have been widely adopted for consumer electronics,energy storage,and electric vehicles.Herein,by integrating regular real-time current short pulse tests with data-driven Gaussian process regression algorithm,an efficient battery estimation has been successfully developed and validated for batteries with capacity ranging from 100%of the state of health(SOH)to below 50%,reaching an average accuracy as high as 95%.Interestingly,the proposed pulse test strategy for battery capacity measurement could reduce test time by more than 80%compared with regular long charge/discharge tests.The short-term features of the current pulse test were selected for an optimal training process.Data at different voltage stages and state of charge(SOC)are collected and explored to find the most suitable estimation model.In particular,we explore the validity of five different machine-learning methods for estimating capacity driven by pulse features,whereas Gaussian process regression with Matern kernel performs the best,providing guidance for future exploration.The new strategy of combining short pulse tests with machine-learning algorithms could further open window for efficiently forecasting lithium-ion battery remaining capacity. | Aihua Ran Ming Cheng Shuxiao Chen Zheng Liang Zihao Zhou Guangmin Zhou Feiyu Kang Xuan Zhang Baohua Li Guodan Wei | 2023 | Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,3: | 1 |
| 7 | Treatment of Phenol-Contaminated Soil by Potassium Ferrate Based on pH Control显示文摘This study aims to optimize the treatment of phenol-contaminated soil by potassium ferrate. Variations in pH value can accurately reflect the state and reaction status of the entire treatment process. Therefore, the pH value could be an important variable for optimizing the reaction conditions and achieving the automatic control of the process. About 99.89% of phenol was removed after 10 min of the pH-controlled reaction at a rotational speed of 40―70 r/min, with the initial phenol concentration equating to 10.0 g/kg and the total water consumption reaching 2.72 L(at a soil/water ratio of 1:0.68). | 12 | Characterizing nitric oxide emissions from two typical alpine ecosystems显示文摘portion of alpine meadows has been and will continue to be cultivated due to the concurrent increasing demands for animal-and crop-oriented foods and global warming.However, it remains unclear how these long-term changes in land use will affect nitric oxide(NO) emission. At a field site with a calcareous soil on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau,the authors measured the year-round NO fluxes and related variables in a typically wintergrazed natural alpine meadow(NAM) and its adjacent forage oat field(FOF). The results showed that long-term plow tillage, fertilization and growing forage oats significantly yielded ca. 2.7 times more(p < 0.01) NO emissions from the FOF than the NAM(conservatively 208 vs. 56 g N/(ha·year) on average). The spring freeze–thaw period and non-growing season accounted for 17%-35% of the annual emissions, respectively. The Q10 of surface soil temperature(Ts) was 8.9 in the NAM(vs. 3.8 in the FOF), indicating increases of 24%–93% in NO emissions per 1–3 °C increase. However, the warming-induced increases could be smaller than those due to land use change and management practices. The Tsand concentrations of ammonium, nitrate and water-extractable organic carbon jointly explained 69% of the variance in daily NO fluxes from both fields during the annual period(p < 0.001).
