| 1 | Development status of high power fiber lasers and their coherent beam combination显示文摘High-power fiber laser has been emerged great potential in a wide range of applications and becomes a robust candidate for high energy solid state laser system. To further increase the output brightness of single-channel fiber laser, high-brightness pump sources and high-power-handling passive components should be fabricated and utilized in the fiber laser systems, in addition to the advanced techniques for multiple nonlinear effects managements. The state-of-the-art high power fiber lasers are reviewed, in terms of narrow-linewidth fiber lasers, broadband fiber lasers and fiber lasers at 2 μm. Coherent beam combining is a promising technique to obtain higher output power while maintaining excellent beam quality simultaneously,which breaks through the bottlenecks of single-channel fiber laser. Based on a series of key techniques for coherent beam combining, high-power coherent beam combining of fiber lasers could be enabled with high combining efficiency. In this paper, we review the progress of high-power fiber lasers and their coherent beam combining in the recent decade, particularly the relevant work in our group. | 2 | Dual-Mode Induction of Tunable Circularly Polarized Luminescence from Chiral Metal-Organic Frameworks显示文摘The general approach for fabricating solid-state materials showing circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)is still in its challenge.In this work,chiral metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)with full-color and white-color circularly polarized light emission are firstly achieved through a host-guest emitter-loading strategy.Chiral zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs,a class of MOFs)are fabricated by a facile and simple mixed-ligand coassembly pathway.Meantime,achiral dyes,quantum dots(QDs),and upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)are easily loaded into the chiral ZIFs during the synthetic process.Size-matched dyes can be solely encapsulated into the chiral cages of ZIF,resulting in induced CPL and enhanced luminescence efficiency in solid-state ZIF⊃dye composites.Large-sized QDs,after embedding into the gap of the ZIF particles,also exhibited intense CPL activity.Furthermore,through modulating the blending ratio of colored dyes or QDs in chiral ZIFs,white light-emitting ZIFs with circular polarization could be constructed in a solid state.In addition,through loading rare earth element-based upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)into chiral ZIFs,upconverted CPL(UC-CPL)could be achieved with a high dissymmetry factor(glum).Thus,various achiral luminophores were endowed with CPL upon coupling with chiral ZIFs,which significantly deepened and enlarged the research scope of the chiroptical materials in a solid state. | Tonghan Zhao Jianlei Han Xue Jin Minghao Zhou Yan Liu Pengfei Duan Minghua Liu | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 8 |
| 3 | Preparation of superhydrophobic CdS cotton using visible light response and its application for the control of water pollution显示文摘Sewage discharge produced by homes and industries contains both oil and water-soluble components. In order to remove oil from water, materials with specific wettability can be used;however, these materials cannot remove dissolved contaminants from water. In this research, we prepared a superhydrophobic Cd S cotton for water purification. This material has the ability to adsorb different types of oil due to its non-wettability(WCA = 152°). Moreover, its response behavior towards visible light enables it to remove water-soluble pollutants as well. The highest oil absorption rate of superhydrophobic Cd S cotton is nearly 30 times, and it can absorb light below 564 nm and produce ·OH to degrade water soluble pollutants. Finally, based on Mott-Schottky curve,the position of Fermi energy level was determined(–0.55 e V). | 4 | Prevalence of liver injury among patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome treated with highly active antiretroviral therapy in China显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To estimate the prevalence of liver injury among patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS) who received highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART) in rural Henan Province in China, and to explore whether Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) treatment based on HAART would increase this risk.METHODS: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study. We collected medical information on patients with AIDS from two treatment databases in2014. Criteria established by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group in 1996 were used for grading liver injury,classified based on the limit of normal(ULN) for alanine transaminase and aspartate aminotransferase:grade 1(1.25-2.5 × ULN); grade 2(2.6-5 × ULN);grade 3(5.1-10 × ULN); and grade 4(> 10 × ULN).Factors associated with liver injury were evaluated using a logistic regression model.RESULTS: A total 6953 patients with AIDS(3324 male and 3629 female patients) were enrolled into this study. The prevalence of liver injury was 22.0%(18.0% grade 1, 3.1% grade 2, 0.9% grade 3). In multivariate analysis, patients aged 34-45 years were more likely to have liver injury than patients in other age groups [adjusted odds ratio(AOR), 1.39; 95%CI, 1.01-1.91)]. Other factors associated with liver injury included male sex(AOR, 1.64; 95% CI,1.46-1.85), HIV infection via blood(AOR, 1.47; 95%CI, 1.19-1.82), hepatitis B virus antibody positive(AOR, 1.07; 95% CI, 0.85-1.36), and hepatitis C virus(HCV) antibody positive(AOR, 2.76; 95% CI,2.28-3.34).CONCLUSION: The prevalence of liver injury was relatively high among HAART-experienced patients. Several factors associated with liver injury included male sex, age 35-45 years old, HIV infection through blood, and concurrent HCV infection. | 5 | Insights into the enhanced structure stability and electrochemical performance of Ti^(4+)/F^(-) co-doped P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2) cathodes for sodium ion batteries at high voltage显示文摘P2-Na_(0.67)N_(i0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2)is considered as a promising cathode material for sodium-ion battery (SIBs)because of its high capacity and discharge potential.However,its practical use is limited by Na^(+)/vacancy ordering and P2-O2 phase transition.Herein,a Ti^(4+)/F^(-) co-doping strategy is developed to address these issues.The optimal P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.37)Ti_(0.3)O_(1.9)F_(0.1) exhibits much enhanced sodium storage performance in the high voltage range of 2.0–4.4 V,including a cycling stability of 77.2%over 300cycles at a rate of 2 C and a high-rate capability of 87.7 m Ah g^(-1) at 6 C.Moreover,the P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.37)Ti_(0.3)O_(1.9)F_(0.1) delivers reversible capacities of 82.7 and 128.1 m Ah g^(-1) at-10 and 50℃ at a rate of 2 C,respectively.The capacity retentions over 200 cycles at-10℃ is 94.2%,implying more opportunity for practical application.In-situ X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that both P2-O2 phase transitions and Na^(+)/vacancy ordering is suppressed by Ti^(4+)/F^(-) co-doping,which resulting in fast Na^(+) diffusion and stable phase structure.The hard carbon//P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.37)Ti_(0.3)O_(1.9)F_(0.1) full cell exhibits a high energy density of 310.2 Wh kg^(-1) and remarkable cyclability with 82.1%retention after 300 cycles at 1 C in the voltage range of 1.5–4.2 V.These results demonstrate that the co-doping Ti^(4+)/F^(-) is a promising strategy to improve the electrochemical properties of P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2),providing a facile tactic to develop high performance cathode materials for SIBs. | Pengfei Zhou Jing Zhang Zhennan Che Zuhao Quan Ju Duan Xiaozhong Wu Junying Weng Jinping Zhao Jin Zhou | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,4: | 3 |
| 6 | Nonlinear photoresponse of metallic graphene-like VSe2 ultrathin nanosheets for pulse laser generation显示文摘Vanadium diselenide(VSe2), a typical metallic behaviour material among transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs) family, exhibits excellent photoelectric characteristics with a zero band gap, missing applicaiotn in pulse generation. In this work, a high-quality VSe2 saturable absorber(SA) was synthesized through a liquid-phase exfoliation method. The saturable absorption of obtained VSe2-SA was characterized systematically. The measured modulation depth was 9.9%, and the saturated intensity was 533.8 μJ/cm2. By incorporating this optical modulator into a ytterbium-doped fiber laser cavity, a stable passively Q-switched laser could be achieved. The pulse had the central wavelength of 1064.03 nm. As the pump power was increased, the repetition rate increased from 24.3 k Hz to 35.6 k Hz, and the pulse duration decreased from7.21 μs to 5.27 μs. The output power had the maximum value of 28.55 m W. | 7 | An enrichment model using regular health examination data for early detection of colorectal cancer显示文摘Objective: Challenges remain in current practices of colorectal cancer(CRC) screening, such as low compliance,low specificities and expensive cost. This study aimed to identify high-risk groups for CRC from the general population using regular health examination data.Methods: The study population consist of more than 7,000 CRC cases and more than 140,000 controls. Using regular health examination data, a model detecting CRC cases was derived by the classification and regression trees(CART) algorithm. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was applied to evaluate the performance of models. The robustness and generalization of the CART model were validated by independent datasets. In addition, the effectiveness of CART-based screening was compared with stool-based screening.Results: After data quality control, 4,647 CRC cases and 133,898 controls free of colorectal neoplasms were used for downstream analysis. The final CART model based on four biomarkers(age, albumin, hematocrit and percent lymphocytes) was constructed. In the test set, the area under ROC curve(AUC) of the CART model was 0.88 [95%confidence interval(95% CI), 0.87-0.90] for detecting CRC. At the cutoff yielding 99.0% specificity, this model’s sensitivity was 62.2%(95% CI, 58.1%-66.2%), thereby achieving a 63-fold enrichment of CRC cases. We validated the robustness of the method across subsets of test set with diverse CRC incidences, aging rates, genders ratio, distributions of tumor stages and locations, and data sources. Importantly, CART-based screening had the higher positive predictive value(1.6%) than fecal immunochemical test(0.3%).Conclusions: As an alternative approach for the early detection of CRC, this study provides a low-cost method using regular health examination data to identify high-risk individuals for CRC for further examinations. | 9 | Thermal Performance of Elliptical Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchangers with Vortex Generator under Various Inclination Angles显示文摘Elliptical fin-and-tube heat exchangers are commonly used in air conditioning,heating,refrigeration industries,and ventilation.This study numerically investigates the effect of vortex generators on the performance of elliptical fin-and-tube heat exchanger under different inclination angles.In this study,air flow that is in the transitional regime is selected as the working fluid.Reynolds numbers at the inlet are varied in a range of 1300 to 2100,and the shear stress transport k-ωturbulence model is selected to solve the non-closure of basic turbulence equations.The ellipticity ratios of the tubes which are used for the analysis are between 0.6 and 1.0,and the inclination angles are varied from 15°to 75°.The effects of different inclination angles of vortex generators on the Colburn factor j,friction factor f,and efficiency index j/f are analyzed.The friction and Colburn factors are observed to increase with increasing vortex generator inclination angles.It is found that the efficiency factors for a 15°vortex generator inclination angle at 0.6,0.7,0.8,and 0.9 ellipticity ratios improve compared to the corresponding cases with no vortex generator.However,the vortex generator cannot improve the efficiency factor of the circular tube heat exchanger.The 3 D CFD method employed by this study has great potential for use in optimally designing the arrangement of the vortex generators to enhance the performance of heat exchangers. | WANG Yucheng ZHAO Wensheng WANG Pengfei JIANG Jin LUO Xiangyu | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,1: | 2 |

| 14 | Spatio-temporal Dynamics of Urbanization in China Using DMSP/OLS Nighttime Light Data from 1992–2013显示文摘Understanding the dynamics of urbanization is essential to the sustainable development of cities. Meanwhile the analysis of urban development can also provide scientifically and effective information for decision-making. With the long-term Defense Meteorological Satellite Program’s Operational Linescan System(DMSP/OLS) nighttime light images, a pixel level assessment of urbanization of China from 1992 to 2013 was conducted in this study, and the spatio-temporal dynamics and future trends of urban development were fully detected. The results showed that the urbanization and urban dynamics of China experienced drastic fluctuations from 1992 to 2013, especially for those in the coastal and metropolitan areas. From a regional perspective, it was found that the urban dynamics and increasing trends in North Coast China, East Coast China and South Coast China were much more stable and significant than that in other regions. Moreover, with the sustainability estimating of nighttime light dynamics, the regional agglomeration trends of urban regions were also detected. The light intensity in nearly 50% of lighted pixels may continuously decrease in the future, indicating a severe situation of urbanization within these regions. | 17 | Differential SW16.1 allelic effects and genetic backgrounds contributed to increased seed weight after soybean domestication显示文摘Although seed weight has increased following domestication from wild soybean(Glycine soja) to cultivated soybean(Glycine max), the genetic basis underlying this change is unclear. Using mapping populations derived from chromosome segment substitution lines of wild soybean, we identified SW16.1 as the causative gene underlying a major quantitative trait locus controlling seed weight.SW16.1 encodes a nucleus-localized LIM domaincontaining protein. Importantly, the GsSW16.1 allele from wild soybean accession N24852 had a negative effect on seed weight, whereas the GmSW16.1 allele from cultivar NN1138-2 had a positive effect. Gene expression network analysis,reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and promoter-luciferase reporter transient expression assays suggested that SW16.1 regulates the transcription of MT4, a positive regulator of seed weight. The natural variations in SW16.1 and other known seed weight genes were analyzed in soybean germplasm. The SW16.1 polymorphism was associated with seed weight in 247 soybean accessions, showing much higher frequency of positive-effect alleles in cultivated soybean than in wild soybean. Interestingly,gene allele matrix analysis of the known seed weight genes revealed that G. max has lost 38.5%of the G. soja alleles and that most of the lost alleles had negative effects on seed weight. | 20 | A Study on the Factors influencing insulin resistance in obese adolescents显示文摘Objective: To explore the factors influencing insulin resistance in obese Chinese children. Methods: We randomly selected 53 children with uncomplicated obesity between 9 to14 years of age, and 29 normal healthy children, matched for age and sex. Anthropometric and plasma biochemical variables(including lipid profiles, glucose and insulin) were measured using standard methods. We calculated insulin resistance(IR) index using homeostasis model assessment(HOMA) methods and measured plasma high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) levels using nephelometric methods. All statistical analyses were conducted using the statistical package SPSS. Results: Levels of fasting serum insulin, hs-CRP, total cholesterol(TC), low density lipoproteins cholesterol(LDL-C) and IR index were higher in obese children than in controls, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) values were lower in the obese children. There was no significant difference in levels of fasting blood glucose between the two groups. HOMA-IR was used as the dependent variable in multivariate regression analysis. Significant independent predictors for insulin resistance adjusted for waist/hip ratio, diastolic pressure (DBP), BMI, triglycerides and HDL-C level were waist circumference(WC), weight and systolic pressure(SBP).
