Highly biocompatible BSA-MnO_2 nanoparticles as an efficient near-infrared photothermal agent for cancer therapy显示文摘More recently, the biomedical applications of MnO_2 in bioanalysis, cell imaging, and drug delivery as a result of their appealing physicochemical properties, have been reported and expanded rapidly. However, research on a near infrared(NIR) photothermal response of MnO_2 was ignored. In this work, we reported a facile, one-pot method to synthesis of bovine serum albumin(BSA)-reduced and stabilized MnO_2 nanoparticles(BSA-MnO_2 NPs) with good aqueous dispersibility and high biocompatibility. And we also showed for the first time that BSA-MnO_2 NPs displayed superior NIR photothermal efficiency and photostability which demonstrated as a novel class of photothermal antitumor agent. | Yuzhen Wang Yujun Song Guixian Zhu Dechen Zhang Xuewu Liu | 2018 | Chinese Chemical Letters2018,29,11: | 5
Characterization and pilot functional study of a root-specific MYB transcription factor of Arabidopsis显示文摘An MYB transcription factor (AtMYB305) of Arabidopsis was structurally characterized. The biochemical activity of the protein was tested and its in vivo function was preliminarily analyzed. AtMYB305 contains two imperfect repeats (R2, R3) in its DNA binding domain. Gel mobility shift assay demonstrated that GST-AtMYB305 fusion pro-tein bound specifically to the DNA fragment that included a consensus MYB recognition sequence (TAACTG). Overex-pression of AtMYB305 in the fission yeast caused the forma-tion of elongated cells with one condensed nucleus. Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed that AtMYB305 was expressed specifically in the roots of Arabidopsis. | Dong Wang Lihong Li Zhiling Chen Guixian Xia | 2002 | Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,4: | 4
Identification of HSC/MPP expansion units in fetal liver by single-cell spatiotemporal transcriptomics显示文摘Limited knowledge of cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying hematopoietic stem cell and multipotent progenitor(HSC/MPP)expansion within their native niche has impeded the application of stem cell-based therapies for hematological malignancies. Here,we constructed a spatiotemporal transcriptome map of mouse fetal liver(FL)as a platform for hypothesis generation and subsequent experimental validation of novel regulatory mechanisms.Single-cell transcriptomics revealed three transcriptionally heterogeneous HSC/MPP subsets, among which a CD93-enriched subset exhibited enhanced stem cell properties. Moreover,by employing integrative analysis of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics,we identified novel HSC/MPP‘pocket-like’units(HSC PLUS),composed of niche cells(hepatoblasts, stromal cells, endothelial cells, and macrophages)and enriched with growth factors.Unexpectedly, macrophages showed an 11-fold enrichment in the HSC PLUS.Functionally,macrophage-HSC/MPP co-culture assay and candidate molecule testing, respectively, validated the supportive role of macrophages and growth factors(MDK,PTN,and IGFBP5)in HSC/MPP expansion.Finally,cross-species analysis and functional validation showed conserved cell-cell interactions and expansion mechanisms but divergent transcriptome signatures between mouse and human FL HSCs/MPPs.Taken together, these results provide an essential resource for understanding HSC/MPP development in FL,and novel insight into functional HSC/MPP expansion ex vivo. | Suwei Gao Qiang Shi Yifan Zhang Guixian Liang Zhixin Kang Baofeng Huang Dongyuan Ma Lu Wang Jianwei Jiao Xiangdong Fang Cheng-Ran Xu Longqi Liu Xun Xu Berthold Gottgens Cheng Li Feng Liu | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,1: | 4
The velocity structure of the Yinggehai Basin and its hydrocarbon implication显示文摘Two profiles of refraction and wide_angle reflection were completed in the Yinggehai Basin using ocean bottom hydrophones (OBHs) as receiver. These profiles reveal a low velocity layer (LVL) to the west of No. 1 Fault in the basin, with velocity of 3.0-3.5 km/s. Its upper interface lies at 3.5 km below the sea bottom at the NE end of the profiles, and deepens southwestward to 4 6 km near the axis of the basin. It coincides with the top of a gas_bearing, high_pressure layer defined by well logging. This suggests that the LVL is a layer of less_compacted and gas_charged sediments. The lower interface of the LVL is about 9 km in depth. Sediments above the LVL have velocity varying from 2 0 to 4 1 km/s. The acoustic basement is found only east of No. 1 Fault, with velocity of 5 8-6 2 km/s. A NNW_SSE_running OBH seismic profile across the Xisha Trough was completed on the same cruise. Moho and other deep interfaces are clearly visible in the profile. | Kanyuan Xia Di Zhou Daquan Su E. | 6 | Expression of a cotton profilin gene GhPFN1 is associated with fiber cell elongation显示文摘Profilin is an important actin-binding protein involved in regulating the organization of actin filaments. A cotton profilin gene (GhPFN1) that shares 71% identity to profilin1 of Arabidopsis in its amino acid sequence was isolated. Semi-quantitative RT-PCR showed that GhPFN1 was expressed preferentially in the developing cotton fibers and reached the highest level at the fast elongation stage. The function of GhPFN1 in vivo was analyzed using the S. pombe system, and results suggested that GhPFN1 plays a role in fiber cell elongation. | LI Lihong, WANG Haiyun, LI Yan and XIA Guixian(Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100080, China) | 2002 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2002,12,10: | 3
Fabrication and characterization of microfibrillated cellulose and collagen composite films显示文摘Microfibrillated cellulose(MFC)-collagen composite films were prepared with a dispersion of acid swollen collagen fibers and carboxylated MFC at different ratios in an alkaline homogenous system. The surface topographic results obtained from SEM analyses indicated that the MFC entangled uniformly with collagen in the film and formed a closely interwoven network to reinforce the film structure. However, the MFC addition decreased the smoothness and light transparency of the films due to the aggregation of MFC.Compared to the film prepared with pure collagen, the hybrid composite film showed a higher strength and Young’s modulus but lower elongation. The swelling of the composite film in water increased with the increase of the MFC ratio in the film matrix.DSC and TG analyses demonstrated that adding MFC to collagen benefited the thermal stability of the films, due to the conformational and crystal changes in the MFC/collagen structure indicated by the FT-IR and XRD results. The MFC/collagen composite film can potentially be used as an edible material in the food and packaging industry,in particular for meat products. | Wenhang Wang Yabin Wang Yanan Wang Xiaowei Zhang Xiao Wang Guixian Gao | 2016 | Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts2016,1,4: | 2
| 8 | BED FORMS AND RESISTANCE PROPERTIES OF LIGHT-WEIGHT BED MATERIAL显示文摘Based on experimental results from a large tilting flume, the characteristics and de- veloping processes of bed forms of plastic particles during scouring and deposition are systematically studied. The relationships of the occurence, development and disappearence of sand waves with the flow conditions are presented. Various statistical characteristics of sand waves with different sizes and the corresponding resistance properties of different bed forms of plastic particles are obtained. These results have filled in the gaps in bed forms and resistance properties of light sediment particles. It also serves as useful reference in the design of river model tests. | WANG Guixian ,WANG Xingkui,GUO Jiachao Professor, Sediment Research Laboratory, Dept. of Hydraulic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084, China.
