2A review on the South China Sea western boundary current显示文摘The advances in understanding the South China Sea (SCS) western boundary current (SCSwbc) have been reviewed since the works of Dale (1956) and Wyrtki (1961) in the middle of the 20th century. The features of the pattern of SCSwbc and the oceanic phenomena associated with it are focused on. The current is driven mainly by monsoon over the SCS and partially by winds over the tropical Pacific governed by the island rule. The SCSwbc exhibits strong seasonal variation in its direction and patterns. In winter, the current is strong and flows southwestward along the South China shelf and slope from the east of Dongsha Islands to the northern central Vietnamese coast, then turns to the south along the central and southern Vietnamese coast, and finally partially exits the SCS through the Karimata Strait. In summer and early fall, the SCSwbc can be divided into three segments based on their characteristics. The southern segment is stable, flowing northward from the Karimata Strait up to about 11 N, where it separates from the coast forming an eastward offshore current. The separation of the current from Vietnamese coast induces some striking features, such as upwelling and cold sea-surface temperature. The middle segment off the central Vietnamese coast may have a bimodal behavior: northward coastal current and meandering current in early summer (June-July), and cyclonic gyre in later summer and early fall (August-September). 3Multiple model particle flter track-before-detect for range ambiguous radar显示文摘The middle pulse repetition frequency(MPRF)and high pulse repetition frequency(HPRF)modes are widely adopted in airborne pulse Doppler(PD)radar systems,which results in the problem that the range measurement of targets is ambiguous.The existing data processing based range ambiguity resolving methods work well on the condition that the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)is high enough.In this paper,a multiple model particle flter(MMPF)based track-beforedetect(TBD)method is proposed to address the problem of target detection and tracking with range ambiguous radar in low-SNR environment.By introducing a discrete variable that denotes whether a target is present or not and the discrete pulse interval number(PIN)as components of the target state vector,and modeling the incremental variable of the PIN as a three-state Markov chain,the proposed algorithm converts the problem of range ambiguity resolving into a hybrid state fltering problem.At last,the hybrid fltering problem is implemented by a MMPF-based TBD method in the Bayesian framework.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed Bayesian approach can estimate target state as well as the PIN simultaneously,and succeeds in detecting and tracking weak targets with the range ambiguous radar.Simulation results also show that the performance of the proposed method is superior to that of the multiple hypothesis(MH)method in low-SNR environment.Wang Guohong Tan Shuncheng Guan Chengbin Wang Na Liu Zhaolei 2013Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,6:15
4Respective and interactive effects of doubled CO2 and O3 concentration on membrane lipid peroxidation and antioxidative ability of soybean显示文摘Effects of doubled CO2 and O3 concentration on Soybean were studied in open-top chambers (OTC). Under doubled CO2 concentration, grain yield and biomass increased, the SOD activity, vitamin C (Vc) and carotenoid (Car) content also increased; Superoxide (O2-.) generating rate decreased, relative conductivity and malondialdehyde (MDA) content significantly declined.But under doubled O3 concentration, the SOD activity, Vc and Car contents declined, resulting in imbalance of activated-oxygen production, enhanced O2-. generating rate and accelerated process of lipid peroxidation and increase in MDA content and ion leakage of leaves. The final result was decreased grain yield and plant biomass. Interactive effects of doubled CO2 and O3 concentrations on soybean were mostly counteractive. 5Efficient generation of transgenic chickens using the spermatogonial stem cells in vivo and ex vivo transfection显示文摘The highly efficient novel methods to produce transgenic chickens were established by directly in-jecting the recombinant plasmid containing green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene into the cock's testis termed as testis-medianted gene transfer (TMGT), and transplanting transfected spermatogonial stem cells (TTSSCs). For the TMGT approach,four dosages of pEGFP-N1 DNA/cationic polymer complex were injected intratesticularly. The results showed: (1) 48 h after the injection,the percentages of testis cells expressing GFP were 4.0%, 8.7%, 10.2% and 13.6% in the 50, 100, 150 and 200 μg/mL group, re-spectively. The difference from the four dosage groups was significant (P<0.05). On day 25 after the injection, a dosage-dependent and time-dependent increase in the number of transgenic sperm was observed. The percentages of gene expression reached the summit and became stable from day 70 to 160, being 12.7%, 12.8%, 15.9% and 19.1%, respectively. The difference from the four dosage groups was also significant (P<0.05). (2) 70 d after the injection, strong green fluorescent could be observed in the seminiferous tubules by whole-mount in-situ hybridization. (3) 70 d after the injection, the semen was collected and used to artificially inseminate wild-type females. The blastoderms of F1 and F2 transgenic chicken expressed GFP were 56.2% (254/452) and 53.2% (275/517), respectively. The detec-tion of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of F1 and F2 transgenic chicken blood genomic DNA showed that 56.5% (3/23) of F1 and 52.9% (9/17) of F2 were positive. Southern blot showed GFP DNA was in-serted in their genomic DNAs. (4) Frozen whole mount tissue sections of F1 and F2 transgenic chicken liver, heart, kidney and muscle showed that the rates of green fluorescent positive were between 50.0% and 66.7%. (5) With the TTSSCs method, SSCs ex vivo transfected with GFP were transplanted into recipient roosters whose endogenic SSCs had been resoluted. The donor SSCs settled and GFP ex-pression became readily detectable in the frozen whole mount tissue sections of recepient testes. Moreover, sperms carrying GFP could be produced normally. The results of artificially inseminating wild-type females with these sperms showed 12.5% (8/64) of offspring embryo expressed GFP and 11.1% (2/18) hatched chicks were tested transgenic. 6Efficacy and safety of trastuzumab combined with chemotherapy for first-line treatment and beyond progression of HER2-overexpressing advanced breast cancer显示文摘Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab combined with chemotherapy in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-overexpressing advanced breast cancer.Methods: A total of 90 patients with HER2-overexpressing advanced breast cancer were enrolled in this study. All patients were diagnosed with ductal invasive breast cancer by pathological analysis, and were aged between 31–73 years with a median of 51 years. HER2-positivity was defined as 3(+) staining in immunochemistry or amplification of fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH, ratio ≥2.0). Trastuzumab was administered in combination with chemotherapy as first-line treatment and beyond progression as a secondline, third-line, and above treatment in 90, 34, 14, and 6 patients, respectively. The chemotherapy regimen was given according to normal clinical practice. The response rate was evaluated every two cycles, and the primary endpoints were progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS). Survival curves were estimated by using Kaplan-Meier graphs and were compared by using log-rank test statistics. Multivariate analysis was done using Cox's proportional hazards regression model, and the level of significance was P<0.05.Results: All 90 patients received at least one dose of trastuzumab, and efficacy could be evaluated in 85 patients. The median follow-up was 50 months. In total, 72(80.00%) patients had visceral metastasis, and 43(47.78%) patients had progressed after one or more extensive chemotherapy regimens for metastatic diseases. The median PFS for first-line trastuzumab was 10 months(range, 2–59 months), and the median OS after metastasis or initially local advanced disease was 22 months(range, 2–116 months).Conclusions: Trastuzumab combined with chemotherapy was active and well-tolerated as a first-line treatment and even beyond progression in HER2-overexpressing advanced breast cancer as a second-line or third-line treatment. 7Using borehole core analysis to reveal Late Quaternary paleoearthquakes along the Nankou-Sunhe Fault,Beijing显示文摘The Nankou-Sunhe Fault is a buried active normal fault that traverses the urban area of Beijing.Its seismic risks have caused considerable concerns.This paper studies paleoearthquakes along this fault by analyzing and correlating bore-hole cores obtained from triple-tube coring,incorporating experience acquired from trenching.As a result,a model for identifying earthquake-derived colluvium by sediment-core analysis is proposed.Triple-tube coring technique is useful to collect continuous undis-turbed soil core near the Nankou-Sunhe Fault.By identifying fault-scarp colluviums,determining cumulative displacement,and analysing stratum thickening on the hanging wall,we are able to establish a preliminary paleoearthquake sequence consisting of 13 surface-rupturing events since 60 ka.The seismic history can be divided into three periods based on different recurrence intervals.Between 60 and 40 ka,three earthquakes occurred with recurrence interval of ~10 ka.From 40 to 25 ka,there were six earthquakes with the recurrence interval of about 2.5 ka.In the last 25 ka,four earthquakes have taken place with the recurrence interval varying considerably.The recurrence interval between the last three events is ~5 ka.Smaller recurrence intervals correspond to stages of faster fault slip.The coseismic displacement of a single event is 0.8 to 2.2 m,average 1.4 m,largely equivalent to moment magnitudes 6.7-7.1.This study demonstrates the feasibility of bore-hole drilling in investigating paleoearthquakes along normal faults.It also suggests that closely spaced boreholes with continuous undisturbed cores are essential for reconstructing the complete paleoearthquake sequence.ZHANG ShiMin WANG DanDan LIU XuDong ZHANG GuoHong ZHAO JunXiang LUO MingHui REN JunJie WANG Rui ZHANG YingLi 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,8:11
8In situ stabilization remediation of cadmium contaminated soils of wastewater irrigation region using sepiolite显示文摘The effects of immobilization remediation of Cd-contaminated soils using sepiolite on soil pH,enzyme activities and microbial communities,TCLP-Cd(toxicity characteristic leaching procedure-Cd) concentration,and spinach(Spinacia oleracea) growth and Cd uptake and accumulation were investigated.Results showed that the addition of sepiolite could increase soil pH,while the TCLP-Cd concentration in soil was decreased with increasing sepiolite.The changes of soil enzyme activities and bacteria number indicated that a certain metabolic recovery occurred after the sepiolite treatments,and spinach shoot biomass increased by 58.5%-65.5% in comparison with the control group when the concentration of sepiolite was 10 g/kg.However,the Cd concentrations in the shoots and roots of spinach decreased with an increase in the rate of sepiolite,experiencing 38.4%-59.1% and 12.6%-43.6% reduction,respectively,in contrast to the control.The results indicated that sepiolite has the potential for success on a field scale in reducing Cd entry into the food chain.Yuebing Sun Guohong Sun Yingming Xu Lin Wang Dasong Lin Xuefeng Liang Xin Shi 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,10:11
9Optimal allocation of multi-sensor passive localization显示文摘To improve multi-sensor passive localization precision,the optimal allocation form of multi-sensor bearing-only localization is analyzed from the perspective of the geometric dilution of precision(GDOP) of the least squares(LS) algorithm.This paper indicates that whether the target lies inside the closed region formed by the sensors or not,the optimal allocation is when each adjacent cut angle between a sensor pair is identical,and all sensors are located on the border of the circle that has the target(which is also the origin of the coordinate system) as its center.When there is no restriction on the adjacent cut angle in the above allocation,the optimal estimate of the LS algorithm in the sense of minimum variance can be acquired.When the LS algorithm achieves the optimal estimate and the sensors present the optimal allocation,the respective consistencies are analyzed.Simulation results verify the analysis of the optimal allocation form above,which can be used in multi-sensor passive localization algorithms based on sensor management.WANG BenCai HE You WANG GuoHong XIU JianJuan 2010Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,12:11
10Temperature variations inside Chinese solar greenhouses with external climatic conditions and enclosure materials显示文摘Chinese solar greenhouses enable the extension of the crop growing season in the cold climate in Northern China with little or no additional heating.The temporal variations of the air temperatures inside solar greenhouses located at three cities in North,Northeast and Northwest China were predicted by CFD simulations of the greenhouse systems using typical meteorological data.The predicted temperatures based on the meteorological data in Shenyang are quite similar to the measured temperatures.The results also show that the external air temperatures and solar radiation fluxes play more important roles for the inside temperatures as indicated by the highest inner temperature in the morning on Feb.18 and from 10:00 to 14:00 on Feb.19 in Beijing and by the predicted temperatures inside the greenhouse being higher in Lanzhou than those in Shenyang and Beijing during most of the day.The average daily temperature inside the greenhouse in Lanzhou was nearly 3.5℃higher than that in Shenyang.Predicted air temperatures for various wall designs show that for single walls,the daily average interior temperatures in the aerated concrete wall greenhouse were higher than those in the brick wall and reinforced concrete wall greenhouses.However,the air temperature fluctuations were lower in the reinforced concrete wall greenhouse due to greater thermal storage capacity.The results also show that the temperatures in the layered wall greenhouses are quite similar,which coincides with the experimental results。Tong Guohong David M Christopher Li Tianlai Wang Tieliang 2008International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2008,1,2:10
11Distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria isolated from cancer hospital in 2013显示文摘Objective: To understand distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria from a specialized cancer hospital in 2013 in order to provide a basis for rational clinical antimicrobial agents. Methods: Pathogenic bacteria identification and drug sensitivity tests were performed with a VITEK 2 compact automatic identification system and data were analyzed using WHONET5.6 software.Results: Of the 1,378 strains tested, 980 were Gram-negative bacilli, accounting for 71.1%, in which Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were the dominant strains. We found 328 Gram-positive coccus, accounting for 23.8%, in which the amount of Staphylococcus aureus was the highest. We identified 46 fungi, accounting for 4.1%. According to the departmental distribution within the hospital, the surgical departments isolated the major strains, accounting for 49.7%. According to disease types, lung cancer, intestinal cancer and esophagus cancer were the top three, accounting for 20.9%, 17.3% and 14.2%, respectively. 12An overview of 10-year observation of the South China Sea branch of the Pacific to Indian Ocean throughflow at the Karimata Strait显示文摘Besides the Indonesian throughflow(ITF), the South China Sea throughflow(SCSTF) also contributes to the water transport from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean. However, this South China Sea(SCS) branch at the Karimata Strait is poorly observed until 2007, even though its importance has been suggested by numerical studies for decades. In this paper, we review the nearly 10-year field measurement in the Karimata Strait by the execution of the projects of 'SCS-Indonesian Seas Transport/Exchange(SITE) and Impacts on Seasonal Fish Migration' and 'The Transport, Internal Waves and Mixing in the Indonesian Throughflow regions(TIMIT) and Impacts on Marine Ecosystem', which extend the observations from the western Indonesian seas to the east to include the main channels of the ITF, is introduced. 13Range ambiguity resolving of HPRF radar based on hybrid filter显示文摘In this paper,a novel method of range ambiguity resolving based on hybrid filter is proposed for high-pulse repetition frequency (HPRF) radars.By considering the discrete-valued pulse interval number (PIN) which is described as the radial range of the target divided by the maximum unambiguous range for a certain HPRF and its incremental variable as target states,the problem of range ambiguity resolving is converted to the hybrid state estimation problem.In the initial time steps,since the range measurement is ambiguous,the hybrid state initialization is achieved by utilizing multiple HPRFs based on Euclidean distance.Then,to avoid the choice of the thresholds,the hybrid model based on six-dimension state vector is made equivalent to several hybrid models based on five-dimension state vector according to the values that PIN incremental variable may take.The hybrid estimation is achieved by comparing 2-norm of the innovations obtained from several hybrid filters.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can converge more rapidly than the existing multiple hypothesis method when only one HPRF has target measurement and overcome the mistake that multiple hypothesis method makes when PIN varies.WANG Na WANG GuoHong ZENG JiaYou HE You 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,7:8
14Capecitabine maintenance therapy for XT chemotherapy-sensitive patients with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of capecitabine maintenance therapy(MT) after initial capecitabine plus docetaxel(XT) chemotherapy in patients with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer(m TNBC).Methods: Fifty-five m TNBC patients treated with XT chemotherapy between May 2007 and June 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. When initial disease control was achieved by the combination chemotherapy, capecitabine was continued for 32 patients(MT), while 23 patients remained without any treatment(nonMT). We compared progression-free survival(PFS) and safety of both groups.Results: The median PFS of 55 patients was 8.1 months, overall median PFS time of 32 patients in the capecitabine MT group and 23 in the non-MT group was 10.1 vs. 6.7 months(P=0.032), respectively. When compared PFS time of maintenance treatment, single-agent capecitabine prolonged PFS by 7.1 months, for non-MT patients, the PFS without any treatment was 3.1 months, and this between-group difference was statistically significant(P=0.003). 15Recent development of A_2B_2O_7 system transparent ceramics显示文摘A_2B_2O_7 system compounds, which usually present three phase structures mainly based on the ionic radius ratios of r_A and r_B(r_A/r_B), have been studied for potential applications in many fields, such as thermal barrier coatings, luminescence powders, fast-ion conductors, photocatalysts, and matrices for immobilization of highly active radionuclides. Since 2005, La_2Hf_2O_7 was fabricated into transparent ceramics and much more attentions were paid on A_2B_2O_7 transparent ceramics for new applications. In this review, the development of A_2B_2O_7 system transparent ceramics was described. The structure characteristics, powder synthesis method, and sintering techniques of the final A_2B_2O_7 transparent ceramics were summarized. After that, the mostly reported A_2Hf_2O_7, A_2Zr_2O_7, and A_2Ti_2O_7 system transparent ceramics were systematically introduced. 16Progesterone treatment before experimental hypoxia-ischemia enhances the expression of glucose transporter proteins GLUT1 and GLUT3 in neonatal rats显示文摘Progesterone is an efficient candidate for treating stroke and traumatic brain damage. The current study was designed to investigate the effects of progesterone on glucose transporter proteins (GLUT1 and GLUT3) during hypoxic-ischemic injury in a neonatal rat model. We demonstrated strong staining for GLUT1 in the walls of blood vessels and GLUT3 immunoreactivity in hippocampal neurons after hypoxiaischemia. Hypoxia-ischemia elevated GLUT1 and GLUT3 at both the mRNA and protein levels in the hippocampus, and pre-treatment with progesterone (8 mg/kg) further enhanced their accumulation until 24 h after hypoxic-ischemic injury. 17Radial acceleration estimation within one pulse echo based on Hough-ambiguity transformation显示文摘The information of acceleration of a highly maneuverable target can be helpful to enhancing the performance of the tracker and facilitating the classification of targets.However,the current radars cannot provide information on the acceleration of the target in signal processing.Conventionally,acceleration is estimated by using Kalman filtering in several pulse echoes.There are limitations and shortcomings in this method because of its low precision.This paper proposes a Hough-ambiguity transformation(HAT) method for estimating the acceleration within one pulse.Simulations results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm under several conditions with different pulse durations,signal to noise ratios(SNR),searching steps and searching radii respectively.Simulation results also show that the performance of the proposed method is superior to that of other methods.WANG GuoHong JIA ShuYi DU WenChao 2010Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,9:7
18Efficacy of platinum in advanced triple-negative breast cancer with germline BRCA mutation determined by next generation sequencing显示文摘Objective:To compare the efficacy of platinum-and non-platinum-based regimens as first-line treatment for advanced triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)and analyze the relationship between their efficacy and BRCA gene status.Methods:Retrospectively analyze clinical data of 220 patients diagnosed pathologically with advanced TNBC and treated at the Department of Breast Oncology,Peking University Cancer Hospital from 2013 to 2018 and evaluate the efficacy of chemotherapy.A total of 114 patients had BRCA1/2 gene tested by next generation sequencing(NGS)using peripheral blood,and we analyzed the correlation between their efficacy and BRCA1/2 gene status.Results:Non-platinum-based chemotherapy(NPCT)was administered to 129 and platinum-based chemotherapy(PBCT)to 91 study patients.The clinical benefit rate(CBR)and median progression-free survival(PFS)were not statistically different between NPCT and PBCT groups.The median overall survival(OS)was 30.0 and 22.5 months for PBCT and NPCT group,respectively[P=0.090,hazard ratios(HR)=0.703].BRCA status was assessed in 114 patients,14 of whom had deleterious germline BRCA1/2(g BRCA)mutations(seven in each group).In PBCT group,the CBR was 85.7%and 35.1%for patients with and without deleterious g BRCA mutations,respectively(P=0.039).The median PFS were 14.9 and 5.3 months and median OS were 26.5 and 15.5 months for patients with and without deleterious g BRCA mutations,respectively(P=0.001,P=0.161,respectively).Patients in PBCT group had significantly greater rates of grade 3-4 anemia(5.5%vs.0%)and thrombocytopenia(8.8%vs.0%),whereas palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia(12.4%vs.0%)and peripheral neuropathy(8.6%vs.1.1%)occurred more frequently in NPCT group.Conclusions:Platinum-based regimens are more effective in patients with deleterious g BRCA mutations,but no difference in patients without BRCA gene mutations,so non-platinum is an option in patients without BRCA gene mutations considering the toxicity and side effect.And we recommend that patients with advanced TNBC should have BRCA gene test.Nan Wang Kun Li Wenfa Huang Weiyao Kong Xiaoran Liu Weijie Shi Feng Xie Hanfang Jiang Guohong Song Lijun Di Quanren Wang Jianjun Yu Huiping Li 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,2:7
19A novel RHT-TBD approach for weak targets in HPRF radar显示文摘A novel approach, which can handle ambiguous data from weak targets, is proposed within the randomized Hough transform track-before-detect(RHT-TBD) framework. The main idea is that, without the pre-detection and ambiguity resolution step at each time step, the ambiguous measurements are mapped by the multiple hypothesis ranging(MHR) procedure. In this way, all the information, based on the relativity in time and pulse repetition frequency(PRF) domains, can be gathered among different PRFs and integrated over time via a batch procedure. The final step is to perform the RHT with all the extended measurements, and the ambiguous data is unfolded while the detection decision is confirmed at the end of the processing chain.Unlike classic methods, the new approach resolves the problem of range ambiguity and detects the true track for targets. Finally, its application is illustrated to analyze and compare the performance between the proposed approach and the existing approach. 20Long baroclinic Rossby waves with periods of about 500 d near 20°N in the northwest Pacific Ocean显示文摘On the basis of maps of sea level anomalies data set from October 1992 to January 2004, pronounced low frequency variations with periods of about 500 d are detected in the area near 20°N from 160°W to 130°E. A linear two-layer model is employed to explain the mechanism. It is found that the first-mode long baroclinic Rossby waves at 20°N in the northwest Pacific propagate westward in the form of free waves at a speed of about 10.3 cm/s. This confirms that the observed low frequency variabilities appear as baroclinic Rossby waves.
