| 2 | Novel MSX1 variants identified in families with nonsyndromic oligodontia显示文摘The goal of this study was to identify MSX1 gene variants in multiple Chinese families with nonsyndromic oligodontia and analyse the functional influence of these variants.Whole-exome sequencing(WES)and Sanger sequencing were performed to identify the causal gene variants in five families with nonsyndromic oligodontia,and a series of bioinformatics databases were used for variant confirmation and functional prediction.Phenotypic characterization of the members of these families was described,and an in vitro analysis was performed for functional evaluation.Five novel MSX1 heterozygous variants were identified:three missense variants[c.662A>C(p.Q221P),c.670C>T(p.R224C),and c.809C>T(p.S270L)],one nonsense variant[c.364G>T(p.G122*)],and one frameshift variant[c.277delG(p.A93Rfs*67)].Preliminary in vitro studies demonstrated that the subcellular localization of MSX1 was abnormal with the p.Q221P,p.R224C,p.G122*,and p.A93Rfs*67 variants compared to the wild type.Three variants(p.Q221P,p.G122*,and p.A93Rfs*67)were classified as pathogenic or likely pathogenic,while p.S270L and p.R224C were of uncertain significance in the current data.Moreover,we summarized and analysed the MSX1-related tooth agenesis positions and found that the type and variant locus were not related to the severity of tooth loss.Our results expand the variant spectrum of nonsyndromic oligodontia and provide valuable information for genetic counselling. | Jinglei Zheng Miao Yu Haochen Liu Tao Cai Hailan Feng Yang Liu Dong Han | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021，13，1： | 4 |

| 5 | Performance of automated CT ASPECTS in comparison to physicians at different levels on evaluating acute ischemic stroke at a single institution in China显示文摘Background:Our aim was to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of the automated computer-based Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score(e-ASPECTS)for acute stroke patients and compare the result with physicians at different levels.Methods:In our center,e-ASPECTS and 9 physicians at different levels retrospectively and blindly assessed baseline computed tomography(CT)images of 55 patients.Sensitivity,specificity,receiver-operating characteristic curves,Bland–Altman plots with mean score error,and Matthews correlation coefficients were calculated.Comparisons were made between the scores by physicians and e-ASPECTS with diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)being the ground truth.Two methods for clustered data were used to estimate sensitivity and specificity in the region-based analysis.Results:In total,1100(55 patients×20 regions per patient)ASPECTS regions were scored.In the region-based analysis,sensitivity of e-ASPECTS was better than junior doctors and residents(0.576 vs 0.165 and 0.111,p<0.05)but inferior to senior doctors(0.576 vs 0.617).Specificity was lower than junior doctors and residents(0.883 vs 0.971 and 0.914)but higher than senior doctors(0.883 vs 0.809,p<0.05).E-ASPECTS had the best Matthews correlation coefficient of 0.529,compared to senior doctors,junior doctors,and residents(0.463,0.251,and 0.087,respectively).Conclusions:e-ASPECTS showed a similar performance to that of senior physicians in the assessment of brain CT of acute ischemic stroke patients with the Alberta Stroke Program Early CT score method. | Xiaochuan Huo Raynald Hailan Jin Yin Yin Guangming Yang Zhongrong Miao | 2021 | Chinese Neurosurgical Journal2021，7，4： | 1 |

| 8 | Aggressive Intestinal Symptoms Caused by Metastatic Tumors Originating from Primary Gastric Cancer in Pregnancy:A Case Report显示文摘Gastric carcinoma is extremely rare in pregnancy and the prognosis for this malignancy tends to be dismal.We herein describe a case of gastric cancer in pregnancy to alert clinicians to this rare possibility.A 29-year-old woman developed abdominal spastic pain and diarrhea during the 26 weeks of gestation and her condition was confusing and hard to recognize.The patient was initially misdiagnosed as enterogastritis and inflammatory intestinal obstruction and was finally confirmed by exploratory laparotomy with intestinal and peritoneum metastases.Because the disease was not detected early enough and progressed rapidly,the pregnancy was terminated by cesarean section at 30 weeks of gestation,and then followed by systemic chemotherapy,but eventually succumbed to the lethal pneumonia.Therefore,it is of great significance to alert clinicians to note this rare possibility and to consider the differential diagnosis of this disease in pregnant women with a long course of gastrointestinal symptoms that cannot be explained by pregnancy alone,and cancer should be suspected and tested with sophisticated diagnostic procedures. | Chunlin Zhao Jingru Ji Shenghui Lu Fang Wang Hailan Yang | 2023 | Maternal-Fetal Medicine2023，5，1： | 0 |
| 9 | Direct analysis method of^(14)C radioactivity concentration in urine samples显示文摘Objective:To establish a rapid analysis method for the activity concentration of carbon-14(14C)in urine,in order to estimate the internal dose of 14C exposure,and to protect the health of occupational population.Methods:Liquid scintillation counting(LSC)combined with the function of transformed spectral index of the external standard spectrum(tSIE)was used to measure the quenching level and counting rate,and the spiked urine samples with different shades of color were measured by LSC.After establishing the efficiency-quenching curve,the quenching correction and activity concentration analysis of the actual samples were carried out.Results:By LSC and the data fitting,the relationship between efficiency and quenching index could be represented using the equation y=0.0013x-0.0177(R^(2)=0.978).Three actual spiked samples were tested to verify this method,with recoveries of 97%,102%,and 89%,respectively.14C activity concentration of 4 actual urine samples were 0.12,0.11,0.10 and 0.08 Bq/mL,respectively,while the corresponding extended relative uncertainties were 0.0652,0.0929,0.0893 and 0.1043,respectively.Conclusion:The direct analysis method of 14C activity concentration in urine samples was established using LSC.The recovery of 14C activity concentration in urine samples showed that the proposed method had relatively high accuracy.By studying on the source of uncertainty,the uncertainty of the analysis results mainly came from the statistical error of LSC,and the uncertainty component of counting efficiency. | Xiao Ge Linlin Yan Qiang Xiong Fei Chen Jing Liang Zhen Zhang Hailan Yang Dingxin Long | 2022 | Radiation Medicine and Protection2022，3，1： | 0 |
