| 3 | A stable artificial protective layer for high capacity dendrite-free lithium metal anode显示文摘The metallic lithium(Li)is considered as the most promising anode material for high-e nergy batteries.Nevertheless,the uncon trollable growth of Li den drite and un stable electrolyte/electrode in terface still hin der the developme nt of Li-based battery.In this work,a no vel strategy has been proposed to stabilize Li anode by in-situ polymerizing polypyrrole(PPy)layer on Ni foam(PPy@Ni foam)as an artificial protective layer.The PPy protective layer can effectively decrease the contact between Li metal and electrolyte during cycling.In addition,the morphology characterization shows that the PPy layer can help the even Li deposition undemeath the layer,leading to a dendrite-free Li anode.As a result,when deposited 2 mAh-cm-2 Li metal,the PPy@Ni foam can keep stable Coulombic efficiency(99%)during nearly 250 cycles,much better than the pure Ni foam(100 cycles).Even in the case of the Li capacity of 10 mAh-cm-2,the stable cycling performance for 60 cycles can still be achieved.Furthermore,when assembled with LiFePO4 material as the cathode for a full cell,the PPy@Ni foam can keep high capacity retention of 85.5%at 500 cycles.In our work,we provide a simple and effective method to enhanee the electrochemical performances of Li metal-based batteries,and reveal a new avenue to design three-dimensional(3D)metallic curre nt collector for protecting the Li metal ano de. | Zhipeng Wen Yueying Peng Jianlong Cong Haiming Hua Yingxin Lin Jian Xiong Jing Zeng Jinbao Zhao | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,10: | 6 |
| 4 | Machine Learning-Based Multi-Modal Information Perception for Soft Robotic Hands显示文摘This paper focuses on multi-modal Information Perception(IP)for Soft Robotic Hands(SRHs)using Machine Learning(ML)algorithms.A flexible Optical Fiber-based Curvature Sensor(OFCS)is fabricated,consisting of a Light-Emitting Diode(LED),photosensitive detector,and optical fiber.Bending the roughened optical fiber generates lower light intensity,which reflecting the curvature of the soft finger.Together with the curvature and pressure information,multi-modal IP is performed to improve the recognition accuracy.Recognitions of gesture,object shape,size,and weight are implemented with multiple ML approaches,including the Supervised Learning Algorithms(SLAs)of K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Logistic Regression(LR),and the unSupervised Learning Algorithm(un-SLA)of K-Means Clustering(KMC).Moreover,Optical Sensor Information(OSI),Pressure Sensor Information(PSI),and Double-Sensor Information(DSI)are adopted to compare the recognition accuracies.The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed sensors and recognition approaches are feasible and effective.The recognition accuracies obtained using the above ML algorithms and three modes of sensor information are higer than 85 percent for almost all combinations.Moreover,DSI is more accurate when compared to single modal sensor information and the KNN algorithm with a DSI outperforms the other combinations in recognition accuracy. | Haiming Huang Junhao Lin Linyuan Wu Bin Fang Zhenkun Wen Fuchun Sun | 2020 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2020,25,2: | 4 |
| 5 | Fiber guiding at the Dirac frequency beyond photonic bandgaps显示文摘Light trapping within waveguides is a key practice of modern optics,both scientifically and technologically.Photonic crystal fibers traditionally rely on total internal reflection(index-guiding fibers)or a photonic bandgap(photonic-bandgap fibers)to achieve field confinement.Here,we report the discovery of a new light trapping within fibers by the so-called Dirac point of photonic band structures.Our analysis reveals that the Dirac point can establish suppression of radiation losses and consequently a novel guided mode for propagation in photonic crystal fibers.What is known as the Dirac point is a conical singularity of a photonic band structure where wave motion obeys the famous Dirac equation.We find the unexpected phenomenon of wave localization at this point beyond photonic bandgaps.This guiding relies on the Dirac point rather than total internal reflection or photonic bandgaps,thus providing a sort of advancement in conceptual understanding over the traditional fiber guiding.The result presented here demonstrates the discovery of a new type of photonic crystal fibers,with unique characteristics that could lead to new applications in fiber sensors and lasers.The Dirac equation is a special symbol of relativistic quantum mechanics.Because of the similarity between band structures of a solid and a photonic crystal,the discovery of the Dirac-point-induced wave trapping in photonic crystals could provide novel insights into many relativistic quantum effects of the transport phenomena of photons,phonons,and electrons. | Kang Xie Wei Zhang Allan D Boardman Haiming Jiang Zhijia Hu Yong Liu Ming Xie Qiuping Mao Lei Hu Qian Li Tianyu Yang Fei Wen Erlei Wang | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1: | 1 |
