| 2 | Self-tuning virtual synchronous generator control for improving frequency stability in autonomous photovoltaic-diesel microgrids显示文摘This paper investigates the use of a virtual synchronous generator(VSG) to improve frequency stability in an autonomous photovoltaic-diesel microgrid with energy storage. VSG control is designed to emulate inertial response and damping power via power injection from/to the energy storage system. The effect of a VSG with constant parameters(CP-VSG) on the system frequency is analyzed. Based on the case study, self-tuning algorithms are used to search for optimal parameters during the operation of the VSG in order to minimize the amplitude and rate of change of the frequency variations. The performances of the proposed self-tuning(ST)-VSG, the frequency droop method, and the CP-VSG are evaluated by comparing their effects on attenuating frequency variationsunder load variations. | 3 | Fengyun Meteorological Satellite Products for Earth System Science Applications显示文摘Following the progress of satellite data assimilation in the 1990s, the combination of meteorological satellites and numerical models has changed the way scientists understand the earth. With the evolution of numerical weather prediction models and earth system models, meteorological satellites will play a more important role in earth sciences in the future. As part of the space-based infrastructure, the Fengyun (FY) meteorological satellites have contributed to earth science sustainability studies through an open data policy and stable data quality since the first launch of the FY-1A satellite in 1988. The capability of earth system monitoring was greatly enhanced after the second-generation polar orbiting FY-3 satellites and geostationary orbiting FY-4 satellites were developed. Meanwhile, the quality of the products generated from the FY-3 and FY-4 satellites is comparable to the well-known MODIS products. FY satellite data has been utilized broadly in weather forecasting, climate and climate change investigations, environmental disaster monitoring, etc. This article reviews the instruments mounted on the FY satellites. Sensor-dependent level 1 products (radiance data) and inversion algorithm-dependent level 2 products (geophysical parameters) are introduced. As an example, some typical geophysical parameters, such as wildfires, lightning, vegetation indices, aerosol products, soil moisture, and precipitation estimation have been demonstrated and validated by in-situ observations and other well-known satellite products. To help users access the FY products, a set of data sharing systems has been developed and operated. | 4 | An Improved Virtual Inertia Algorithm of Virtual Synchronous Generator显示文摘Virtual synchronous generator(VSG)simulates the first-order motion equation of a synchronous generator(SG)with the algorithm.VSG can improve the system voltage and frequency support capabilities of a microgrid or a weak grid.It is now widely applied at a high penetration level of distributed generation(DG)systems.However,because there is a contradiction between active power steady-state deviation of VSG and dynamic impact regulation,the VSG running in grid-connected mode with existing strategies cannot meet the steady and dynamic control requirements.Thus,an improved virtual inertial control strategy of VSG is proposed in this paper.The active power impact is reduced effectively under the circumstance of damping coefficient Dωequal to 0 and a large inertia,thus the dynamic characteristic of active power is improved and its steady-state characteristic is maintained.Firstly,based on the analysis of the damping coefficient effect on the system dynamic process,two forms of improved virtual inertia algorithms are put forward by cascading a differential link into different positions of the first-order virtual inertia forward channel.Then,by comparing the characteristics of the system with the two improved algorithms,the improved virtual inertial strategy based on differential compensation is proven to be better,and the design of its parameters is analyzed.Finally,simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. | Haizhen Xu Changzhou Yu Chun Liu Qinglong Wang Xing Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2020,8,2: | 10 |

| 6 | Adsorption characteristic of bensulfuron-methyl at variable added Pb^(2+) concentrations on paddy soils显示文摘The combined pollution of heavy metal Pb2+ and bensulfuron-methyl (BSM), originating from chemical herbicides, in agro- ecological environments has become commonplace in southern China. The adsorption of BSM on three paddy soils in the presence of Pb2+ was examined using high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC). Results indicated that adsorption of BSM could accurately be described by a Freundlich isotherm equation with correlation constant (R) > 0.98, irrespective of the presence of spiked Pb2+. Of the various factors influencing BSM sorption, soil pH appeared to be the most inffiuential. The constant Kf of Freundlich isotherm equation tended to increase with increasing Pb2+ concentration in soil which indicated that the spiked of Pb2+ in paddy soils would promote the sorption of BSM. △Gθ of BSM in three paddy soils was less than 40 kJ/mol in all treatments, indicating the adsorption of BSM is mainly physical in nature. The elution of soil dissolved organic matter (DOM) enhanced the adsorption of BSM in paddy soils. | 8 | Development of a gaseous and solid-state hybrid system for stationary hydrogen energy storage显示文摘Hydrogen can serve as a carrier to store renewable energy in large scale.However,hydrogen storage still remains a challenge in the current stage.It is difficult to meet the technical requirements applying the conventional storage of compressed gaseous hydrogen in high-pressure tanks or the solid-state storage of hydrogen in suitable materials.In the present work,a gaseous and solid-state(G-S)hybrid hydrogen storage system with a low working pressure below 5 MPa for a 10 kW hydrogen energy storage experiment platform is developed and validated.A Ti-Mn type hydrogen storage alloy with an effective hydrogen capacity of 1.7 wt%was prepared for the G-S hybrid hydrogen storage system.The G-S hybrid hydrogen storage tank has a high volumetric hydrogen storage density of 40.07 kg H_(2)m^(-3) and stores hydrogen under pressure below5 MPa.It can readily release enough hydrogen at a temperature as low as-15C when the FC system is not fully activated and hot water is not available.The energy storage efficiency of this G-S hybrid hydrogen storage system is calculated to be 86.4%-95.9%when it is combined with an FC system.This work provides a method on how to design a G-S hydrogen storage system based on practical demands and demonstrates that the G-S hybrid hydrogen storage is a promising method for stationary hydrogen storage application. | Haizhen Liu Li Xu Yu Han Xin Chen Peng Sheng Shumao Wang Xiantun Huang Xinhua Wang Chenglin Lu Hui Luo Shixuan He Zhiqiang Lan Jin Guo | 2021 | Green Energy & Environment2021,6,4: | 2 |
| 9 | Two-dimensional vanadium carbide for simultaneously tailoring the hydrogen sorption thermodynamics and kinetics of magnesium hydride显示文摘Magnesium hydride(MgH_(2))is a potential material for solid-state hydrogen storage.However,the thermodynamic and kinetic properties are far from practical application in the current stage.In this work,two-dimensional vanadium carbide(V_(2)C)MXene with layer thickness of 50−100 nm was fist synthesized by selectively HF-etching the Al layers from V_(2)AlC MAX phase and then introduced into MgH_(2) to improve the hydrogen sorption performances of MgH_(2).The onset hydrogen desorption temperature of MgH_(2) with V_(2)C addition is significantly reduced from 318℃ for pure MgH_(2) to 190℃,with a 128℃ reduction of the onset temperature.The MgH_(2)+10 wt%V_(2)C composite can release 6.4 wt%of H_(2) within 10 min at 300℃ and does not loss any capacity for up to 10 cycles.The activation energy for the hydrogen desorption reaction of MgH_(2) with V_(2)C addition was calculated to be 112 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2) by Arrhenius’s equation and 87.6 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2) by Kissinger’s equation.The hydrogen desorption reaction enthalpy of MgH_(2)+10 wt%V_(2)C was estimated by van’t Hoff equation to be 73.6 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2),which is slightly lower than that of the pure MgH_(2)(77.9 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2)).Microstructure studies by XPS,TEM,and SEM showed that V_(2)C acts as an efficient catalyst for the hydrogen desorption reaction of MgH_(2).The first-principles density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrated that the bond length of Mg−H can be reduced from 1.71A for pure MgH_(2) to 2.14A for MgH_(2) with V_(2)C addition,which contributes to the destabilization of MgH_(2).This work provides a method to significantly and simultaneously tailor the hydrogen sorption thermodynamics and kinetics of MgH_(2) by two-dimensional MXene materials. | Chenglin Lu Haizhen Liu Li Xu Hui Luo Shixuan He Xingqing Duan Xiantun Huang Xinhua Wang Zhiqiang Lan Jin Guo | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,4: | 2 |
