Prognostic factors for transarterial chemoembolization combined with sustained oxaliplatin-based hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy of colorectal cancer liver metastasis显示文摘Objective: To investigate the prognostic factors in chemorefractory colorectal cancer liver metastasis(CRCLM)patients treated by transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) and sustained hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC).Methods: Between 2006 and 2015, 162 patients who underwent 763 TACE and HAIC in total were enrolled in this retrospective study, including 110 males and 52 females, with a median age of 60(range, 26–83) years.Prognostic factors were assessed with Log-rank test, Cox univariate and multivariate analyses. Results: The median survival time(MST) and median progression-free survival(PFS) of the 162 patients from first TACE/HAIC were 15.6 months and 5.5 months respectively. Normal serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9, <37 U/m L)(P<0.001) and carbohydrate antigen 72-4(CA72-4, <6.7 U/m L)(P=0.026), combination with other local treatment(liver radiotherapy or liver radiofrequency ablation)(P=0.034) and response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) were significant factors related to survival after TACE/HAIC in univariate analysis. A multivariate analysis revealed that normal serum CA19-9(P<0.001), response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) and combination with other local treatment(P=0.001) were independent factors among them. Conclusions: Our findings indicate that serum CA19-9 <37 U/m L and response to TACE/HAIC are significant prognostic indicators for this combined treatment, and treated with other local treatment could reach a considerable survival benefit for CRCLM. This could be useful for making decisions regarding the treatment of CRCLM. | Hangyu Zhang Jianhai Guo Song Gao Pengjun Zhang Hui Chen Xiaodong Wang Xiaoting Li Xu Zhu | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,1: | 12
Diurnal evolution of the barrier layer and its local feedback in the central Taiwan Strait显示文摘Diurnal evolution of the barrier layer (BL) and its local feedback features in the central Taiwan Strait (119.2oE,24.3oN) during summertime monsoon are investigated using in situ moored observations conducted by the 'Yan-Ping 2' research vessel in late June 2005.During the initiation phase, for the non-solar radiation tends to be trapped in the upper mixed layer, whereas the solar radiation can penetrate deeply through the mixed layer approaching the thermocline, most heat is accumulated inside the BL inducing an inverse-thermal layer.Along with heat convergence inside the BL,thermal exchange increases between the BL and the overlaying mixed layer and finally,a prominently warming mixed layer is formed. Moreover, the BL is associated with a buoyancy frequency minimum with mild stability.Further analysis reveals that the BL's local feedbacks can be divided into two aspects,on one hand, the BL can generate dramatic changes in the local sensible and latent heat fluxes;on the other hand, the sub-halocline and the thermocline serve as two interfaces during the downward transmission of the wind stirring turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) and as a result, most TKE is retarded by the shallow halocline and being trapped above the upper mixed layer, while the residual pierced through the base of the mixed layer is likewise blocked by the thermocline. | PAN AiJun1,WAN XiaoFang,CHEN HangYu & GUO XiaoGang Ocean Dynamics Lab.,Third Institute of Oceanography State Oceanic Administration (TIOSOA),Xiamen 361005,China | 2010 | Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,2: | 1
Co‑packaged optics(CPO):status, challenges, and solutions显示文摘Due to the rise of 5G,IoT,AI,and high-performance computing applications, datacenter trafc has grown at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 30%.Furthermore,nearly three-fourths of the datacenter trafc resides within datacenters. The conventional pluggable optics increases at a much slower rate than that of datacenter trafc. The gap between application requirements and the capability of conventional pluggable optics keeps increasing,a trend that is unsustainable.Copackaged optics(CPO)is a disruptive approach to increasing the interconnecting bandwidth density and energy efciency by dramatically shortening the electrical link length through advanced packaging and co-optimization of electronics and photonics.CPO is widely regarded as a promising solution for future datacenter interconnections, and silicon platform is the most promising platform for large-scale integration.Leading international companies(e.g.,Intel,Broadcom and IBM)have heavily investigated in CPO technology,an inter-disciplinary research feld that involves photonic devices, integrated circuits design, packaging, photonic device modeling,electronic-photonic co-simulation,applications,and standardization. This review aims to provide the readers a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art progress of CPO in silicon platform, identify the key challenges, and point out the potential solutions, hoping to encourage collaboration between diferent research felds to accelerate the development of CPO technology. | Min Tan Jiang Xu Siyang Liu Junbo Feng Hua Zhang Chaonan Yao Shixi Chen Hangyu Guo Gengshi Han Zhanhao Wen Bao Chen Yu He Xuqiang Zheng Da Ming Yaowen Tu Qiang Fu Nan Qi Dan Li Li Geng Song Wen Fenghe Yang Huimin He Fengman Liu Haiyun Xue Yuhang Wang Ciyuan Qiu Guangcan Mi Yanbo Li Tianhai Chang Mingche Lai Luo Zhang Qinfen Hao Mengyuan Qin | 2023 | Frontiers of Optoelectronics2023,16,1: | 1
Isoforsythiaside confers neuroprotection against Alzheimer's disease by attenuating ferroptosis and neuroinflammation in vivo and in vitro显示文摘Ferroptosis and neuroinflammation contribute to the development of Alzheimer's disease(AD). Isoforsythiaside(IFY)is a phenylethanoid glycoside isolated from the dried fruit of Forsythia suspensa(Thunb.)Vahl that has been confirmed to improve the memory and cognitive abilities of APP/PS1 mice in our previous study. The purpose of this study was to explore the anti-ferroptosis and anti-neuroinflammatory properties of IFY-mediated neuroprotection. In APP/PS1 mice, erastin-damaged HT22 cells, and LPS-exposed BV2 cells, the neuroprotective effects against ferroptosis and neuroinflammation were investigated using immunohistochemistry, label-free proteomics, western blot, ELISA, MTT, fluorescence, and TEM. IFY alleviated the expression levels of NO, IL-6, and IL-1β in LPS-exposed BV2 cells and improved the morphology of mitochondria in erastin-damaged HT22 cells. Additionally, IFY upregulated the expression levels of GPX4, FTH, FTL, p-GSK-3β, Nrf2, and NQO1, and downregulated the expression of TFR1, DMT1, p-Fyn, GFAP, p-IKKα+β, p-IκBα, p-NF-κB, and pro-inflammatory factors in the brains of APP/PS1 mice and erastin-damaged HT22 cells. In conclusion, IFY inhibits ferroptosis and neuroinflammation in erastin-damaged HT22 cells and APP/PS1 mice, at least partially by regulating the activation of Nrf2 and NF-κB signaling. IFY may prevent ferroptosis and neuroinflammation in AD and provide a new treatment strategy for AD. | Chunyue Wang Hongbo Jiang Honghan Liu Shanshan Chen Hangyu Guo Shuoshuo Ma Weiwei Han Yu Li Di Wang | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,5: | 0
Sedimentary diagenesis of rudist shoal and its control on reservoirs: A case study of Cretaceous Mishrif Formation, H Oilfield, Iraq显示文摘Based on the core, cast thin section, whole rock analysis, conventional physical properties and high pressure mercury intrusion test, the sedimentary diagenesis characteristics of rudist shoal in Cretaceous Mishrif Formation of H Oilfield, Iraq and its control on the reservoir were studied. The rudist shoal of the Mishrif Formation develops in the high-stand systems tract and is distributed in the high places of paleogeomorphology on the edge of platform with strong hydrodynamic force. According to the relative sea level changes, lithologic evolution and sedimentary structure characteristics of the rudist shoal, the single rudist shoal is divided into four lithologic sections: A, B, C and D, that is, low-angle cross-bedding pelletoids-rudist packstone, low-angle cross-bedding and parallel bedding arene-rudist grainstone, parallel bedding rudist gravel limestone, and horizontal bedding carbonaceous mudstone. The complete sedimentary sequence of a single rudist shoal is often disrupted. Several rudist shoals superimpose to form thick rudist shoal sediment. The single rudist shoal thickness and lithologic sections assemblage change regularly in vertical direction. The rudist shoal has the characteristics of 'strong dissolution, weak cementation and strong compaction', forming pore-type reservoir with intergranular pores, intergranular dissolved pores, mold pores, and dissolved pores. With mainly coarse pore throats larger than 5 μm, the reservoir is of medium-high porosity and high permeability. There is lithological reverse cycles inside single shoals and between single shoals, with content of mud crystals decreasing from the bottom to the top, dissolution increasing, cementation decreasing in strength, pore throats getting larger, and physical properties turning better. The rudist shoal of MB2-1 at the top of the high-stand systems tract has the largest thickness, moreover, subject to the strongest atmospheric freshwater leaching, this layer has the most significant dissolution and the largest pore throat, so it is the best reservoir of the Mishrif Formation. | YU Yichang SUN Longde SONG Xinmin GUO Rui GAO Xingjun LIN Minjie YI Liping HAN Haiying LI Fengfeng LIU Hangyu | 2018 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2018,45,6: | 0
Effects of landscape fragmentation of plantation forests on carbon storage in the Loess Plateau,China显示文摘Tree plantation and forest restoration are the major strategies for enhancing terrestrial carbon sequestration and mitigating climate change. The Grain for Green Project in China has positively impacted global carbon sequestration and the trend towards fragmentation of plantation forests.Limited studies have been conducted on changes in plantation biomass and stand structure caused by fragmentation, and the effect of fragmentation on the carbon storage of plantation forests remains unclear. This study evaluated the differences between carbon storage and stand structure in black locust forests in fragmented and continuous landscape in the Ansai District,China and discussed the effects of ecological significance of four landscape indices on carbon storage and tree density. We used structural equation modelling to explore the direct and indirect effects of fragmentation, edge, abiotic factors, and stand structure on above-ground carbon storage.Diameter at breast height(DBH)in fragmented forests was 53.3%thicker,tree density was 40.9%lower,and carbon storage was 49.8%higher than those in continuous forests;for all given DBH>10 cm,the trees in fragmented forests were shorter than those in continuous forests. The patch area had a negative impact on carbon storage,i.e.,the higher the degree of fragmentation, the lower the density of the tree;and fragmentation and distance to edge(DTE)directly increased canopy coverage. However, canopy coverage directly decreased carbon storage, and fragmentation directly increased carbon storage and tree density. In non-commercial forests, fragmentation reduces the carbon storage potential of plantation, and the influence of patch area, edge, and patchy connection on plantation should be considered when follow-up trees are planted and for the plantation management. Thus, expanding the area of plantation patches, repairing the edges of complex-shaped patches, enhancing the connectivity of similar patches, and applying nutrients to plantation forests at regular intervals are recommended in fragmented areas of the Loess Plateau. | LEI Hangyu DUAN Dantong CHEN Yi GUO Huifeng LI Jiangtao LI Xiang | 2024 | Journal of Arid Land2024,16,2: | 0
Intra-seasonal variability of the abyssal currents in COMRA's contract area in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone显示文摘In this paper, the intra-seasonal variability of the abyssal currents in the China Ocean Mineral Resources Association(COMRA)polymetallic nodule contact area, located in the western part of the Clarion and Clipperton Fraction Zone in the tropical East Pacific,is investigated using direct observations from subsurface mooring instruments as well as sea-surface height data and reanalysis products.Mooring observations were conducted from September 13,2017 to August 15,2018 in the COMRA contact area(10°N,154°W).The results were as follows:(1)At depths below 200 m,the kinetic energy of intra-seasonal variability(20-100 d)accounts for more than 40%of the overall low-frequency variability, while the ratio reaches more than 50%below 2000 m.(2)At depths below 200 m,currents show a synchronous oscillation with a characteristic time scale of 30 d,lasting from October to the following January;the energy of the 30-d oscillation increases with depth until the layer of approximately 4616 m,and the maximum velocity is approximately 10 cm/s.(3)The 30-d oscillation of deep currents is correlated with the tropical instability waves in the upper ocean. | Fangfang Kuang Jing Cha Junpeng Zhang Aijun Pan Hangyu Chen Xiwu Zhou Chunsheng Jing Xiaogang Guo | 2022 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,11: | 0
Configurable circular-polarization-dependent optoelectronic silent state for ultrahigh light ellipticity discrimination显示文摘Filterless light-ellipticity-sensitive optoelectronic response generally has low discrimination, thus severely hindering the development of monolithic polarization detectors. Here,we achieve a breakthrough based on a configurable circular-polarization-dependent optoelectronic silent state created by the superposition of two photoresponses with enantiomerically opposite ellipticity dependences. The zero photocurrent and the significantly suppressed noise of the optoelectronic silent state singularly enhance the circular polarization extinction ratio(CPER)and the sensitivity to light ellipticity perturbation. The CPER of our device approaches infinity by the traditional definition. The newly established CPER taking noise into account is 3-4 orders of magnitude higher than those of ordinary integrated circular polarization detectors, and it remains high in an expanded wavelength range. The noise equivalent light ellipticity difference goes below 0.009° Hz-1/2 at modulation frequencies above 1000 Hz by a light power of 281 uW.This scheme brings a leap in developing monolithic ultracompact circular polarization detectors. | Yonghao Bu Xiansong Ren Jing Zhou Zhenhan Zhang Jie Deng Hangyu Xu Runzhang Xie Tianxin Li Weida Hu Xia Guo Wei Lu Xiaoshuang Chen | 2023 | Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,8: | 0
