5Nonlinear health evaluation for lithium-ion battery within full-lifespan显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs), as the first choice for green batteries, have been widely used in energy storage, electric vehicles, 3C devices, and other related fields, and will have greater application prospects in the future. However, one of the obstacles hindering the future development of battery technology is how to accurately evaluate and monitor battery health, which affects the entire lifespan of battery use. It is not enough to assess battery health comprehensively through the state of health(SoH) alone, especially when nonlinear aging occurs in onboard applications. Here, for the first time, we propose a brand-new health evaluation indicator—state of nonlinear aging(SoNA) to explain the nonlinear aging phenomenon that occurs during the battery use, and also design a knee-point identification method and two SoNA quantitative methods. We apply our health evaluation indicator to build a complete LIB full-lifespan grading evaluation system and a ground-to-cloud service framework, which integrates multi-scenario data collection, multi-dimensional data-based grading evaluation, and cloud management functions. Our works fill the gap in the LIBs’ health evaluation of nonlinear aging, which is of great significance for the health and safety evaluation of LIBs in the field of echelon utilization such as vehicles and energy storage. 6Effects of water stress on quality and sugar metabolism in'Gala'apple fruit显示文摘Sugar plays an important role in apple fruit development,appearance and quality as well as contributing to a plant’s water stress response.Trehalose and the trehalose biosynthetic metabolic pathways are part of the sugar signaling system in plants,which are important regulator of water stress response in apple.The effect of water stress treatments applied to apple trees and the corresponding effects of ABA on developmental fruit quality were examined for indicators of fruit quality during fruit development.The results indicated that the severe water stress treatment(W2)occurring after the last stage of fruit cell division caused a decrease in the color and size of fruit.The moderate water stress(W1)occurring after the last stage of fruit cell enlargement(S2)caused an increase in the content of fructose and sorbitol while the apple fruit shape was not affected.These changes in sugar are related to the activity of sugar metabolic enzymes.While the enzymatic activity of vacuolar acid invertase(vAINV)was higher,that of sucrose-phosphate synthase(SPS)was lower in water stress treated fruit throughout the developmental period.This indicates that enhanced sucrose degradation and reduced sucrose synthesis leads to an overall reduced sucrose content during times of drought.Thus,water stress reduced sucrose content.Whereas the content of endogenous trehalose and ABA were the highest in water stress treated fruit.A moderate water stress(W1)imposed on apple trees via water restriction(60%–65%of field capacity)after the fruit cell enlargement phase of fruit development yielded sweeter fruit of higher economic value.Hongxia Tao Hanqing Sun Yufei Wang Xin Wang Yanping Guo 2023Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,1:2
7The impact of the atmospheric turbulence-development tendency on new particle formation:a common finding on three continents显示文摘A new mechanism of new particle formation(NPF)is investigated using comprehensive measurements of aerosol physicochemical quantities and meteorological variables made in three continents,including Beijing,China;the Southern Great Plains site in the USA;and SMEARⅡStation in Hyytiala,Finland.D espite the considerably different emissions of chemical species among the sites,a common relationship was found between the characteristics of NPF and the stability intensity.The stability parameter(ζ=Z/L,where Z is the height above ground and L is the Monin-Obukhov length)is found to play an important role;it drops significantly before NPF as the atmosphere becomes more unstable,which may serve as an indicator of nucleation bursts.As the atmosphere becomes unstable,the NPF duration is closely related to the tendency for turbulence development,which influences the evolution of the condensation sink.Presumably,the unstable atmosphere may dilute pre-existing particles,effectively reducing the condensation sink,especially at coarse mode to foster nucleation.This new mechanism is confirmed by model simulations using a molecular dynamic model that mimics the impact of turbulence development on nucleation by inducing and intensifying homogeneous nucleation events.Hao Wu Zhanqing Li Hanqing Li Kun Luo Yuying Wang Peng Yan Fei Hu Fang Zhang Yele Sun Dongjie Shang Chunsheng Liang Dongmei Zhang Jing Wei Tong Wu Xiaoai Jin Xinxin Fan Maureen Cribb Marc L.Fischer Markku Kulmala Tuukka Petaja 2021National Science Review2021,8,3:2
8Environmental pollution,a hidden culprit for health issues显示文摘The environmental and health impacts from the massive discharge of chemicals and subsequent pollution have been gaining increasing public concern.The unintended exposure to different pollutants,such as heavy metals,air pollutants and organic chemicals,may cause diverse deleterious effects on human bodies,resulting in the incidence and progression of different diseases.The article reviewed the outbreak of environmental pollution-related public health emergencies,the epidemiological evidence on certain pollution-correlated health effects,and the pathological studies on specific pollutant exposure.By recalling the notable historical life-threatening disasters incurred by local chemical pollution,the damning evidence was presented to criminate certain pollutants as the main culprit for the given health issues.The epidemiological data on the prevalence of some common diseases revealed a variety of environmental pollutants to blame,such as endocrine-disrupting chemicals(EDCs),fine particulate matters(PMs)and heavy metals.The retrospection of toxicological studies provided illustrative clues for evaluating ambient pollutant-induced health risks.Overall,environmental pollution,as the hidden culprit,should answer for the increasing public health burden,and more efforts are highly encouraged to strive to explore the cause-and-effect relationships through extensive epidemiological and pathological studies.Hanqing Xu Yang Jia Zhendong Sun Jiahui Su Qian S.Liu Qunfang Zhou Guibin Jiang 2022Eco-Environment & Health2022,1,1:1

12A Thermoregulatory Flexible Phase Change Nonwoven for All‑Season High‑Efficiency Wearable Thermal Management显示文摘Phase change materials have a key role for wearable thermal management,but suffer from poor water vapor permeability,low enthalpy value and weak shape stability caused by liquid phase leakage and intrinsic rigidity of solid–liquid phase change materials.Herein,we report for the first time a versatile strategy for designed assembly of high-enthalpy flexible phase change nonwovens(GB-PCN)by wet-spinning hybrid grapheneboron nitride(GB)fiber and subsequent impregnating paraffins(e.g.,eicosane,octadecane).As a result,our GB-PCN exhibited an unprecedented enthalpy value of 206.0 J g^(−1),excellent thermal reliability and anti-leakage capacity,superb thermal cycling ability of 97.6%after 1000 cycles,and ultrahigh water vapor permeability(close to the cotton),outperforming the reported PCM films and fibers to date.Notably,the wearable thermal management systems based on GB-PCN for both clothing and face mask were demonstrated,which can maintain the human body at a comfortable temperature range for a significantly long time.Therefore,our results demonstrate huge potential of GB-PCN for human-wearable passive thermal management in real scenarios.Hanqing Liu Feng Zhou Xiaoyu Shi Keyan Sun Yan Kou Pratteek Das Yangeng Li Xinyu Zhang Srikanth Mateti Ying Chen Zhong‑Shuai Wu Quan Shi 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,2:1

17Clinical Effect of Resistance-free Removal of the Bone Embedded Mandibular Third Molar显示文摘[Objectives] To shorten the time of removal of the bone embedded mandibular third molar,reduce the complications of tooth extraction,and explore a surgery method of resistance-free removal of the mandibular third molar. [Methods] A total of 50 patients with bone embedded mandibular third molar needing to be removed were selected. A 45° elevation turbine and a long tungsten steel drill were used to remove the mesial,buccal,and distal resistances. When necessary,tongue side and root resistance was removed,and the third molar was removed when there was basically no resistance around it. The removal time was recorded,followed up for 10 d,and the postoperative reaction was observed. [Results] The bone embedded mandibular third molars were removed for all patients within 15 min,and there was no serious postoperative reaction,all patients showed high satisfaction. 18Quantum light source devices of In(Ga)As semiconductor self-assembled quantum dots显示文摘A brief introduction of semiconductor self-assembled quantum dots (QDs) applied in single-photon sources is given. Single QDs in confined quantum optical microcavity systems are reviewed along with their optical properties and coupling characteristics. Subsequently, the recent progresses in In(Ga)As QDs systems are summarized including the preparation of quantum light sources, multiple methods for embedding single QDs into different microcavities and the scalability of single-photon emitting wavelength. Particularly, several In(Ga)As QD single-photon devices are surveyed including In(Ga)As QDs coupling with nanowires, InAs QDs coupling with distributed Bragg reflection microcavity and the In(Ga)As QDs coupling with micropillar microcavities.
