| Gollapalle L.Viswanatha Hanumanthappa Shylaja K.Sadashiva Sandeep Rao Yathiraj Ashwini V.Ramaiah Santhosh Kumar C.Gangadharaiah Mohan Venkate Gowda Sunil M.Venkateshappa Sarvesh Kumar Subbanna Rajesh | 2011 | 中西医结合学报2011,9,11: | 3

Imaging of peritoneal deposits in ovarian cancer:A pictorial review显示文摘As per incidence, ovarian carcinoma is the second most common gynaecological malignancy in women. In spite of advanced technology, patient awareness and effective screening methods, epithelial ovarian cancer is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage(stage Ⅲ). Surgical debulking of disease is mainstay of improving the patient survival even in advanced stages. Thus exact delineation of cancer spread in the abdominal cavity guides the surgeon prior to the surgery, help them to decide resectability of lesion and plan for further need of other surgical speciality or need of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Imaging particularly well-planned contrast-enhanced computed tomography answers most of the queries raised by the treating surgeon. The aim of this article is to review the way ovarian carcinoma spread in the peritoneal cavity and to stress the accurate interpretation of cancer deposits on imaging which can help the treating team to reach optimal management of patients. | Sheragaru Hanumanthappa Chandrashekhara Gowramma Sannanaik Triveni Rahul Kumar | 2016 | World Journal of Radiology2016,8,5: | 1

Antidiarrheal effect of fractions from stem bark of Thespesia populnea in rodents:Possible antimotility and antisecretory mechanisms显示文摘Objective:To evaluate antidiarrheal activity of the fractions of aqueous extract from stem barks of Thespesia populnea(Malvaceae). Methods:From the aqueous extract three fractions namely ethyl acetate fraction(EAF),methanolic fraction(MF) and residue fraction(RF) were made and stuthed for antidiarrheal activity.Antidiarrheal activity of the fractions were evaluated in castor oil induced diarrhea, prostaglandin E2(PG-E2) induced diarrhea and charcoal meal test as in vivo models and the most potent fraction was further evaluated with in vitro models to determine the possible antimotility effect. Results:In castor oil induced diarrhea model, the RF(10,25,50 and 100 mg/kg,po.) and MF(100 mg/kg,po.) has significantly reduced the cumulative wet faecal mass, where as the EAF have not shown any significant antidiarrheal activity,RF was found to be more potent than MF.Based on these results and percentage yield, only RF was evaluated in PGE2 induced enteropooling and charcoal meal test.RF(10,25 and 50 mg/kg) had shown significant inhibition of PG-E2 induced secretions(antisecretory) and decreased the movement of charcoal in charcoal meal test indicating its antimotility activity.Furthermore,RF has showed significant inhibition of acetylcholine, histamine and BaCl2 induced contractions on rat colon, guinea pig ileum and rabbit jejunum with EC50 values of 241.7,303.1 and 286.1μg/mL,respectively indicating the antimotility effect of RF.The phytochemical analysis of RF showed presence of gums and mucilages and the possible mechanism may be the combination inhibition of elevated prostaglandin biosynthesis and reduced propulsive movement of the intestine. Conclusions: RF possesses good antidiarrheal activity comparing with other two fractions and the possible mechanism thought to be associated with combination of antisecretory and antimolity. | Gollapalle Lakshminaraya Shastry Viswanatha Shylaja Hanumanthappa Nandakumar Krishnadas Srinath Rangappa | 2011 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,6: | 1

Almond gum assisted synthesis of Mg doped Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs:Structural analysis, electrochemical sensing, and optical applications显示文摘Mg-doped Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles(M-FNPs)are successfully prepared first time by facile green-aided(almond gum)combustion route. The structural analysis of synthesized nanoparticles was well analyzed by Powder X-ray Diffrac-tion(PXRD),Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM),Raman spec-troscopy and UV-Visible spectral studies.PXRD showed a nanocrystalline nature and determined the average particle size to be 85 nm.The surface morphologies of the prepared nanocomposite was measured by SEM tech-nique reveals the porous and spongy like structure. The photodegradation activity on 20×10^(−6)of Fast Orange Red(FOR)organic model dye using M-FNPs(50 mg)under UV light irradiation was investigatedin detail.Elec-trochemical examination of the prepared material was conducted using graphite-M-FNP electrode paste in 0.1 M KCl solution, and its performance in redox reaction was determined to be very good via cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.Further,an extension to sensor studies revealed broad differences in redox positions for paracetamol sensors,at 0.64 V and 0.41 V,confirming highly chemical sensor activity in alkaline medium for 1∼5 mM concentrations. | Madanakumara Hanumanthappa Jayanna Halepoojar Siddalingappa Yellamagad Channabasaveshwara Soundeswaran Sundararajan Mruthyunjaya Vishwas Shyamala Kurki Srinivasaiah Surendra Boppanahalli Siddegowda Basavaraju Nandeesh | 2022 | ChemPhysMater2022,1,4: | 0
Robotic ultrasound:An initial feasibility study显示文摘BACKGROUND Performing ultrasound during the current pandemic time is quite challenging. To reduce the chances of cross-infection and keep healthcare workers safe,a robotic ultrasound system was developed, which can be controlled remotely. It will also pave way for broadening the reach of ultrasound in remote distant rural areas as well.AIM To assess the feasibility of a robotic system in performing abdominal ultrasound and compare it with the conventional ultrasound system.METHODS A total of 21 healthy volunteers were recruited.Ultrasound was performed in two settings, using the robotic arm and conventional hand-held procedure.Images acquired were analyzed by separate radiologists.RESULTS Our study showed that the robotic arm model was feasible, and the results varied based on the organ imaged. The liver images showed no significant difference. For other organs, the need for repeat imaging was higher in the robotic arm, which could be attributed to the radiologist’s learning curve and ability to control the haptic device. The doctor and volunteer surveys also showed significant comfort with acceptance of the technology and they expressed their desire to use it in the future.CONCLUSIONThis study shows that robotic ultrasound is feasible and is the need of the hour during thepandemic. | Sheragaru Hanumanthappa Chandrashekhara Krithika Rangarajan Ayushi Agrawal Sanjay Thulkar Shivanand Gamanagatti Deepak Raina Subir Kumar Saha Chetan Arora | 2022 | World Journal of Methodology2022,12,4: | 0
Protein extract of kenaf seed exhibits anticoagulant, antiplatelet and antioxidant activities显示文摘Objective:To explore the anticoagulant, antiplatelet and antioxidant activities of protein extract of kenaf seed(PEKS).Methods:Sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography techniques were employed for protein characterization.Antioxidant activity of PEKS was assessed using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)assay.The protective effect of PEKS on sodium nitrite(NaNO2)induced oxidative stress was evaluated using the in vitro red blood cell model, while the effect of PEKS on diclofenacinduced oxidative stress was examined in vivo in rats.Platelet-rich plasma and platelet-poor plasma were used for anticoagulant and antiplatelet activities of PEKS.Results:PEKS revealed similar protein bands on SDS-PAGE under reduced and non-reduced conditions.Several acidic proteins were present in native PAGE.PEKS showed antioxidant properties by scavenging DPPH with an IC50 of 24.58μg.PEKS exhibited a protective effect on NaNO2 induced oxidative stress in red blood cells by restoring the activity of stress markers. In addition,PEKS alleviated diclofenac-induced tissue damage of the liver, kidney, and small intestine.PEKS showed an anticoagulant effect in both in vivo and in vitro experiments by enhancing normal clotting time.PEKS did not affect prothrombin time but increase activated partial thromboplastin time.Furthermore,PEKS inhibited adenosine diphosphate and epinephrine-induced platelet aggregation. Conclusions:PEKS protects tissues from oxidative stress and exhibits antithrombotic activity. | Sujatha M.Hanumegowda Chandramma Srinivasa Ashwini Shivaiah Manjula M.Venkatappa Ramesha Hanumanthappa Rajesh Rangappa Ramesh K.Laxmaiah Sathisha J.Gonchigar Devaraja Sannaningaiah | 2022 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2022,12,2: | 0
