2Effects of Nitrogen Rate and Split Application Ratio on Nitrogen Use and Soil Nitrogen Balance in Cotton Fields显示文摘The Yellow River valley is one of the three largest cotton production areas in China.An experiment was performed in cotton fields of Anyang,China from 2013 to 2014 to investigate the effects of nitrogen(N) application rate and the ratio between basal and topdressing N fertilizer on N balance in a soil-plant system,N use efficiency,and cotton yield.Five N application rates as treatments were applied with the same split application ratio.Half of the N(50% basal fertilizer) was applied at pre-planting and the other half(50% topdressing fertilizer) at the initial flowering stage.These treatments were:zero N(N0,control),90 kg N ha^(-1)(N90(5/5)),180 kg N ha^(-1)(N180(5/5)),270 kg N ha^(-1)(N270(5/5),a reduced N rate),and 360 kg N ha^(-1)(N360(5/5),a conventional N rate).Additional 2 split application ratios as treatments were applied with the same N rate of 270 kg N ha^(-1).The split application ratios between basal N and topdressing N were 30%:70%(N270(3/7)) and 70%:30%(N270(7/3)).Results demonstrated that soil NH_4-N content in the 0–60 cm layer and NO3-N content in the 0–20 cm layer increased with increased N rate at the squaring and boll-opening stages and then decreased to lower levels at the initial flowering and harvest stages.Soil NO_3-N content in the 20–60 cm layer after the initial flowering stage increased with the increase of topdressing N rate.Soil apparent N surplus varied at different growth stages,while the soil apparent N surplus over the entire growth period exhibited a positive relationship at N rates over 180 kg ha^(-1).Seed cotton yield of N270(3/7) was the highest of all treatments.Plant N uptake,N agronomic efficiency,and apparent N recovery efficiency of N270(3/7) were significantly higher than those of N270(5/5) and N270(7/3) in both growing seasons.These suggest both economic and ecological benefits in cotton production in the Yellow River valley could be created,by appropriately reducing total N application rate and increasing the ratio of topdressing to basal N fertilizer at the initial flowering stage.LI Pengcheng DONG Helin LIU Aizhong LIU Jingran SUN Miao LI Yabing LIU Shaodong ZHAO Xinhua MAO Shuchun 2017Pedosphere2017,27,4:7
3Linking microbial community composition to farming pattern in selenium-enriched region:Potential role of microorganisms on Se geochemistry显示文摘Selenium(Se)is an essential micronutrient for lives.Indigenous microbial communities play an important role on Se geochemistry in soils.In this study,the microbial community composition and functions of 53 soil samples were investigated using high-throughput sequencing.Samples were divided into 3 groups with different farming types based on the measured geochemical parameters and microbial functional structures.Results indicated that putative Se related bacteria Bacillus,Dyella,Paenibacillus,Burkholderia and Brevibacillus were dominant in dryland plantation soils which were characterized with higher available Se and low contents of H_(2)O,total organic carbon(TOC),NH_(4)^(+) and NO_(2)^(-).In contrast,the putative denitrifier Pseudomonas dominated in flooded paddy soils with higher TOC,NO_(3)^(-) and organic Se,whereas genera Rhizobium,Nitrosospira,and Geobacter preferred woodland soils with higher oxidation-reduction potential(ORP),pH,NH_(4)^(+) and Fe.Farming patterns resulted in distinct geochemical parameters including moisture,pH,ORP,TOC,and contents of soluble Fe,NO_(2)^(-) and NH_(4)^(+),shaping the microbial communities,which in turn affected Se forms in soils.This study provides a valuable insight into understanding of Se biogeochemistry in soils and prospective strategy for Se-rich agriculture production.Yanhong Wang Xinyan Shi Xianxin Huang Chunlei Huang Helin Wang Hanqin Yin Yixian Shao Ping Li 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,2:3

5Delivery of pOXR1 through an injectable liposomal nanoparticle enhances spinal cord injury regeneration by alleviating oxidative stress显示文摘Oxidation resistance 1(OXR1)is regarded as a critical regulator of cellular homeostasis in response to oxidative stress.However,the role of OXR1 in the neuronal response to spinal cord injury(SCI)remains undefined.On the other hand,gene therapy for SCI has shown limited success to date due in part to the poor utility of conventional gene vectors.In this study,we evaluated the function of OXR1 in SCI and developed an available carrier for delivering the OXR1 plasmid(pOXR1).We found that OXR1 expression is remarkably increased after SCI and that this regulation is protective after SCI.Meanwhile,we assembled cationic nanoparticles with vitamin E succinate-graftedε-polylysine(VES-g-PLL)(Nps).The pOXR1 was precompressed with Nps and then encapsulated into cationic liposomes.The particle size of pOXR1 was compressed to 58 nm,which suggests that pOXR1 can be encapsulated inside liposomes with high encapsulation efficiency and stability to enhance the transfection efficiency.The agarose gel results indicated that Nps-pOXR1-Lip eliminated the degradation of DNA by DNase I and maintained its activity,and the cytotoxicity results indicated that pOXR1 was successfully transported into cells and exhibited lower cytotoxicity.Finally,Nps-pOXR1-Lip promoted functional recovery by alleviating neuronal apoptosis,attenuating oxidative stress and inhibiting inflammation.Therefore,our study provides considerable evidence that OXR1 is a beneficial factor in resistance to SCI and that Nps-Lip-pOXR1 exerts therapeutic effects in acute traumatic SCI.Jing Zhang Yao Li Jun Xiong Helin Xu Guanghen Xiang Mingqiao Fan Kailiang Zhou Yutian Lin Xiangxiang Chen Lin Xie Hongyu Zhang Jian Wang Jian Xiao 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:2
6Dendrimer-decorated nanogels:Efficient nanocarriers for biodistribution in vivo and chemotherapy of ovarian carcinoma显示文摘Nanomedicine has revolutionized disease theranostics by the accurate diagnosis and efficient therapy.Here,the PAMAM dendrimer decorated PVCL-GMA nanogels(NGs)were developed for favorable biodistribution in vivo and enhanced antitumor efficacy of ovarian carcinoma.By an ingenious design,the NGs with a unique structure that GMA-rich domains were localized on the surface were synthesized via precipitation polymerization.After G2 dendrimer decoration,the overall charge is changed from neutral to positive,and the NGs-G2 display the whole charge nature of positively charged corona and neutral core.Importantly,the unique architecture and charge conversion of NGs-G2 have a profound impact on the biodistribution and drug delivery in vivo.As a consequence of this alteration,the NGs-G2 as nanocarriers emerge the highly sought biodistribution of reduced liver accumulation,enhanced tumor uptake,and promoted drug release,resulting in the significantly augmented antitumor efficacy with low side effects.Remarkably,this finding is contrary to some reported work that the nanocarriers with positive charge have preferential liver uptake.Moreover,the NGs-G2 also displayed thermal/pH dual-responsive behaviors,excellent biocompatibility,improved cellular uptake,and stimuli-responsive drug release.Encouragingly,this work demonstrates a novel insight into the strategy for optimizing design,improving biodistribution and enhancing theranostic efficacy of nanocarriers.Xin Li Zhijun Ouyang Helin Li Chaolei Hu Pabitra Saha Lingxi Xing Xiangyang Shi Andrij Pich 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:2
7Genome sequencing of the bacterial blight pathogen DY89031 reveals its diverse virulence and origins of Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae strains显示文摘The bacterial pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo),belonging to Xanthomonas sp.,causes one of the most destructive vascular diseases in rice worldwide,particularly in Asia and Africa.To better understand Xoo pathogenesis,we performed genome sequencing of the Korea race 1 strain DY89031(J18)and analyzed the phylogenetic tree of 63 Xoo strains.We found that the rich diversity of evolutionary features is likely associated with the rice cultivation regions.Further,virulence effector proteins secreted by the type III secretion system(T3SS)of Xoo showed pathogenesis divergence.The genome of DY89031 shows a remarkable difference from that of the widely prevailed Philippines race 6 strain PXO99A,which is avirulent to rice Xa21,a well-known disease resistance(R)gene that can be broken down by DY89031.Interestingly,plant inoculation experiments with the PXO99A transformants expressing the DY89031 genes enabled us to identify additional TAL(transcription activator-like)and non-TAL effectors that may support DY89031-specific virulence.Characterization of DY89031 genome and identification of new effectors will facilitate the investigation of the rice-Xoo interaction and new mechanisms involved.Fudan Chen Bingxiao Yan Xiangyu Gong Helin Li Zuhua He 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,12:1
8Intelligent nanogels with self-adaptive responsiveness for improved tumor drug delivery and augmented chemotherapy显示文摘For cancer nanomedicine,the main goal is to deliver therapeutic agents effectively to solid tumors.Here,we report the unique design of self-adaptive ultrafast charge-reversible chitosan-polypyrrole nanogels(CH-PPy NGs)for enhanced tumor delivery and augmented chemotherapy.CH was first grafted with PPy to form CH-PPy polymers that were used to form CH-PPy NGs through glutaraldehyde cross-linking via a miniemulsion method.The CH-PPy NGs could be finely treated with an alkaline solution to generate ultrafast charge-reversible CH-PPy-OH-4 NGs(R-NGs)with a negative charge at a physiological pH and a positive charge at a slightly acidic pH.The R-NGs display good cytocompatibility,excellent protein resistance,and high doxorubicin(DOX)loading efficiency.Encouragingly,the prepared R-NGs/DOX have prolonged blood circulation time,enhanced tumor accumulation,penetration and tumor cell uptake due to their self-adaptive charge switching to be positively charged,and responsive drug delivery for augmented chemotherapy of ovarian carcinoma in vivo.Notably,the tumor accumulation of R-NGs/DOX(around 4.7%)is much higher than the average tumor accumulation of other nanocarriers(less than 1%)reported elsewhere.The developed self-adaptive PPy-grafted CH NGs represent one of the advanced designs of nanomedicine that could be used for augmented antitumor therapy with low side effects.Xin Li Helin Li Changchang Zhang Andrij Pich Lingxi Xing Xiangyang Shi 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:1

11Rational design of a hollow porous structure for enhancing diffusion kinetics of K ions in edge-nitrogen doped carbon nanorods显示文摘The high electrical conductivity makes it possible for one-dimensional(1D)carbon materials to be used as the promising anodes for potassium ion batteries(PIBs),however,the sluggish diffusion kinetics caused by large-sized potassium ions(K^(+))limits their practical applications in energy storage systems.In this work,hollow carbon nanorods were rationally designed as a case to verify the superiority of 1D hollow structure to improve the diffusion kinetics of K^(+).Simultaneously,edge-N(pyridinic-N and pyrrolic-N)atoms were also introduced into 1D hollow carbon structure,which can provide ample active sites and defects in graphitic lattices to adsorb K^(+),providing extra capacitive storage capacity.As expected,the optimized edge-N doped hollow carbon nanorods(ENHCRs)exhibits a high reversible capacity of 544 mAh·g^(−1)at 0.1 A·g^(−1)after 200 cycles.Even at 5 A·g^(−1),it displays a long-term cycling stability with 255 mAh·g^(−1)over 10,000 cycles.The electrochemical measurements confirm that the hollow structure is favorable to improve the transfer kinetics of K^(+)during cycling.And the theoretical calculations demonstrate that edge-N doping can enhance the local electronegativity of graphitic lattices to adsorb much more K^(+),where edge-N doping synergizes with 1D hollow structure to achieve enhanced K^(+)-storage performances.Ping Niu Yang Yang Zhiqiang Li Gaohui Ding Lingzhi Wei Ge Yao Helin Niu Yulin Min Fangcai Zheng Qianwang Chen 2022Nano Research2022,15,9:1

16IABC: An iteratively automatic machine learning boosted hand-eye calibration method for laser displacement sensor显示文摘An on-machine measuring(OMM)system with a laser displacement sensor(LDS)is designed for measuring free-form surfaces of hypersonic aircraft’s radomes.To improve the measurement accuracy of the OMM system,a novel Iteratively Automatic machine learning Boosted hand-eye Calibration(IABC)method is proposed.Both the hand-eye relationship and LDS measurement errors can be calibrated in one calibration process without any hardware changes via IABC.Firstly,a new objective function is derived,containing analytical parameters of the handeye relationship and LDS errors.Then,a hybrid calibration model composed of two kernels is proposed to solve the objective function.One kernel is the analytical kernel designed for solving analytical parameters.Another kernel is the automatic machine learning(AutoML)kernel designed to model LDS errors.The two kernels are connected with stepwise iterations to find the best calibration results.Compared with traditional methods,hand-eye experiments show that IABC reduces the calibration RMSE by about 50%.Verification experiments show that IABC reduces the measurement deviations by about 25%-50%and RMSEs within 40%.Even when the training data are obviously less than the test data,IABC performs well.Experiments demonstrate that IABC is more accurate than traditional hand-eye methods.Helin LI Bin LIN Tianyi SUI Liang XU Chen ZHANG Shuai YAN Yang WANG Xinquan HAO Deyu LOU 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,8:0

18Effects of soil potassium levels on dry matter and nutrient accumulation and distribution in cotton显示文摘Background Potassium(K)is an essential nutrient for plant growth and development.However,plant fertilization ignoring the soil K level is very likely to cause excessive fertilizer use,and further arouse a series of side effects.This study investigated the response of cotton growth to different soil K levels and the uptake of major nutrients,aiming to evaluate the appropriate K supply level for cotton growth.Using a random block design with 6 soil K levels,we conducted 18 micro-zones field experiments over two continuous years.The soil available K concentration of each treatment was K1(99.77-100.90 mg·kg^(-1)),K2(110.90-111.26 mg·kg^(-1)),K3(123.48-128.88 mg·kg^(-1)),K4(140.13-145.10 mg·kg^(-1)),K5(154.43-155.38 mg·kg^(-1)),and K6(165.77-168.75 mg·kg^(-1)).Cotton nutrient contents,soil nutrient contents,accumulation and distribution of dry matter in cotton were determined,and the relationships between K content in soil and plants and dry matter accumulation were analyzed.Results The soil K content had a significantly positive relationship with dry matter and K accumulation in cotton plants.There were significant differences in dry matter accumulation,single-plant seed cotton yield,mineral nutrient uptake and the proportion of K accumulation in reproductive organs among different soil K levels.The results showed that there was significant difference between K4 and lower K level treatments(K1 and K2),but no significant difference between K4 and higher K level treatments(K5 and K6)in dry matter,single-plant seed cotton yield,or accumulation,distribution and seed cotton production efficiency of N,P and K.Conclusion The soil K level of K4 was able to provide sufficient K for cotton growth in our experiment.Therefore,when the soil K level reached 140.13 mg·kg^(-1),further increasing the soil K concentration no longer had a significant positive effect on cotton growth.Jingjing SHAO Helin DONG Yinan JIN Pengcheng LI Miao SUN Weina FENG Cangsong ZHENG 2023Journal of Cotton Research2023,6,2:0
19Numerical simulation of a cabin ventilation subsystem in a space station oriented real-time system显示文摘An environment control and life support system(ECLSS) is an important system in a space station. The ECLSS is a typical complex system, and the real-time simulation technology can help to accelerate its research process by using distributed hardware in a loop simulation system. An implicit fixed time step numerical integration method is recommended for a real-time simulation system with time-varying parameters. However, its computational efficiency is too low to satisfy the real-time data interaction, especially for the complex ECLSS system running on a PC cluster. The instability problem of an explicit method strongly limits its application in the ECLSS real-time simulation although it has a high computational efficiency. This paper proposes an improved numerical simulation method to overcome the instability problem based on the explicit Euler method. A temperature and humidity control subsystem(THCS) is firstly established, and its numerical stability is analyzed by using the eigenvalue estimation theory. Furthermore, an adaptive operator is proposed to avoid the potential instability problem. The stability and accuracy of the proposed method are investigated carefully.
