Analysis of the result showed that during the breakdown process in laminar-turbulent transition, the mechanism causing the mean flow profile to evolve swiftly from laminar to turbulent was that the modification of mean flow profile by the disturbances,when they became larger,led to a remarkable change of its stability characteristics. | 5 | Soliton bursts and deterministic dissipative Kerr soliton generation in auxiliary-assisted microcavities显示文摘Dissipative Kerr solitons in resonant frequency combs offer a promising route for ultrafast mode-locking,precision spectroscopy and time-frequency standards.The dynamics for the dissipative soliton generation,however,are intrinsically intertwined with thermal nonlinearities,limiting the soliton generation parameter map and statistical success probabilities of the solitary state.Here,via use of an auxiliary laser heating approach to suppress thermal dragging dynamics in dissipative soliton comb formation,we demonstrate stable Kerr soliton singlet formation and soliton bursts.First,we access a new soliton existence range with an inverse-sloped Kerr soliton evolution—diminishing soliton energy with increasing pump detuning.Second,we achieve deterministic transitions from Turinglike comb patterns directly into the dissipative Kerr soliton singlet pulse bypassing the chaotic states.This is achieved by avoiding subcomb overlaps at lower pump power,with near-identical singlet soliton comb generation over twenty instances.Third,with the red-detuned pump entrance route enabled,we uncover unique spontaneous soliton bursts in the direct formation of low-noise optical frequency combs from continuum background noise.The burst dynamics are due to the rapid entry and mutual attraction of the pump laser into the cavity mode,aided by the auxiliary laser and matching well with our numerical simulations.Enabled by the auxiliary-assisted frequency comb dynamics,we demonstrate an application of automatic soliton comb recovery and long-term stabilization against strong external perturbations.Our findings hold potential to expand the parameter space for ultrafast nonlinear dynamics and precision optical frequency comb stabilization. | Heng Zhou Yong Geng Wenwen Cui Shu-Wei Huang Qiang Zhou Kun Qiu Chee Wei Wong | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019，8，1： | 16 |
| 6 | An intracellular toxic protein (Xin) isolated from Xenorhabdus nematophilus strain BJ显示文摘An intracellular toxic protein, designated Xin and with remarkable inhibitory effect on growth of Helicoverpa armigera, was isolated from X. Nematophilus strain BJ by ion exchange chromatography and hydrophobic interaction chromatography. After placing neonates on the artificial diet containing Xin at concentration of 0 or 3.48μg/g for 7 days, the average weight of insects was 23.50mg and 0.55mg, respectively. The activity of Xin was lost by heating, freeze-drying, digestion with proteases or urea. The Xin molecular weight, over kD, was determined by gel filtration on Superose 12, and there were six component proteins analyzed by SDS-PAGE. | 8 | Therapy to Obese Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus:How Far Will We Go Down the Wrong Road?显示文摘Traditional glucose-lowering chemical agents, including various types of insulin and insulin secretagogues, insulin sensitizers, gliptins, etc., are based on diabetic pathogenesis of insulin resistance(IR) and islet insufficiency. Numerous evidence-based medical studies have shown that these traditional hypoglycemic chemical agents do not provide cardiovascular benefit to patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM) and may even increase the risk of all-cause mortality. Based on research evidence published to date, these studies show that overload of energy could increase the incidence and prevalence of T2 DM, and reduction in the heat load can significantly reduce the incidence of T2 DM. Therefore, the essence of T2 DM is heat overload, meaning heat overload is the etiology of obese T2 DM. At the same time, results of numerous studies show that heat overloading is the cause of IR. IR and islet dysfunction are protective factors in intervening with heat overload.These drugs, which are based on the mechanisms of IR and islet insufficiency, increase caloric reserve and cause or worsen obesity, which is equivalent to exacerbating the basic etiology and the cardiovascular risk factor of T2 DM. Thus, a reasonable strategy for prevention and treatment of obese T2 DM appears to promote the negative balance of calories and the elimination of caloric reserves. | 9 | The investigation of coherent structures in the wall region of a supersonic turbulent boundary layer based on DNS database显示文摘Through temporal mode direct numerical simulation, flow field database of a fully developed turbulent boundary layer on a flat plate with Mach number 4.5 and Reynolds number Reθ =1094 has been obtained. Commonly used detection meth- ods in experiments are applied to detecting coherent structures in the flow field, and it is found that coherent structures do exist in the wall region of a supersonic turbulent boundary layer. The detected results show that a low-speed streak is de- tected by using the Mu-level method, the rising parts of this streak are detected by using the second quadrant method, and the crossing regions from a low-speed streak to the high-speed one are detected by using the VITA method respectively. | 10 | The localization of type 2 diabetes susceptibility gene loci in northern Chinese Han families显示文摘We conducted a genome-wide scan, in which 358 well distributed fluorescent dye-labeled microsatellite marker sets were applied in 32 Chinese Han type 2 diabetes families from Northern China to search for the susceptibility gene loci. The data collected from screening all the chromosomes of genome were genotyped by using genescan and genotyping software, then, parametric and non-parametric multipoint test, and affected sib-pair analysis as well, were used to analyze the data. We identified some susceptibility gene loci residing in chromosomes 1,12,18,20, respectively, or precisely, located around D1S214, D1S207, D1S218, D1S235, D12S336, D18S61 and D20S118. | 17 | Efficient catalytic conversion of carbohydrates into 5-ethoxymethylfurfural over MIL-101-based sulfated porous coordination polymers显示文摘In this work, a series of MIL-101-SO3H(x) polymeric materials were prepared and further used for the first time as efficient heterogeneous catalysts for the conversion of fructose-based carbohydrates into 5-ethoxymethylfurfural(EMF) in a renewable mixed solvent system consisting of ethanol and tetrahydrofuran(THF). The influence of –SO3H content on the acidity as well as on the catalytic activity of the porous coordination polymers in EMF production was also studied. High EMF yields of 67.7% and 54.2% could be successively obtained from fructose and inulin in the presence of MIL-101-SO_3H(100) at 130 °C for 15 h.The catalyst could be reused for five times without significant loss of its activity and the recovery process was facile and simple. | 18 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1).
