| 1 | Changes in T lymphocyte subsets after severe traumatic brain injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: Besides local changes of cranial parenchymal cells, hemorrhage, etc., severe traumatic brain injuries also cause the changes of total body fluid and various functions, and the changes of lymphocytes and T lymphocyte subsets should be paid more attention to. OBJECTIVE: To reveal the changing laws of T lymphocyte subsets after severe traumatic brain injury, and compare with mild to moderate brain injury. DESIGN: A comparative observation. SETTINGS: Department of Neurosurgery, Longgang District Buji People's Hospital of Shenzhen City; Central Laboratory of Shenzhen Hospital of Prevention and Cure for Chronic Disease. PARTICIPANTS: All the subjects were selected from the Department of Neurosurgery, Longgang District Buji People's Hospital of Shenzhen City from August 2002 to August 2005. Thirty patients with severe brain injury, whose Glasgow coma score (GCS) was ≤ 8 points, were taken as the experimental group, including 21 males and 9 females, aging 16–62 years. Meanwhile, 30 patients with mild traumatic brain injury were taken as the control group (GCS ranged 14–15 points), including 18 males and 12 females, aging 15–58 years. All the subjects were in admission at 6 hours after injury, without disease of major organs before injury. Informed consents were obtained from all the patients or their relatives. METHODS: ① The T lymphocytes and the subsets in peripheral blood were detected with immunofluorescent tricolor flow cytometry at 1, 3, 7 and 14 days after injury in both groups. ② The conditions of pulmonary infections were observed at 4 days after injury. The differences of measurement data were compared with the t test. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Changes of T lymphocytes subsets at 1–14 days after severe and mild or moderate traumatic injury. RESULTS: Finally, 28 and 25 patients with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury, whereas 25 and 21 patients with severe traumatic brain injury were analyzed at 7 and 14 days respectively, and the missed ones died due to the development of disease. ① Changes of T lymphocyte subsets: At 1 and 3 days after injury, CD3, CD4, CD8, CD4/CD8 began to decrease, whereas CD8 increased in the experimental group, which were very significantly different from those in the control group (t =2.77–3.26, P < 0.01), and began to recover at 7 days, which were significantly different from those in the control group (t = 2.06–2.24, P < 0.05), and generally recovered to the normal levels at 14 days (P > 0.05). ② Conditions of pulmonary infections: At 4 days after injury, the rate of pulmonary infection was significantly different between the experimental group and control group [73% (22/30), 0, χ2=37.29, P < 0.01]. | 2 | Mercury in soil,vegetable and human hair in a typical mining area in China:Implication for human exposure显示文摘Concentrations of total mercury(T-Hg) and methylmercury(MeHg) in soil, vegetables, and human hair were measured in a mercury mining area in central China. T-Hg and MeHg concentrations in soil ranged from 1.53 to 1054.97 mg/kg and 0.88 to 46.52 μg/kg, respectively.T-Hg concentrations was correlated with total organic carbon(TOC) content(R^2= 0.50, p<0.01)and pH values(R^2= 0.21, p<0.05). A significant linear relationship was observed between MeHg concentrations and the abundance of sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB)(R^2= 0.39, p<0.05) in soil.Soil incubation experiments amended with specific microbial stimulants and inhibitors showed that Hg methylation was derived from SRB activity. T-Hg and MeHg concentrations in vegetables were 24.79 – 781.02 μg/kg and 0.01 – 0.18 μg/kg, respectively; levels in the edible parts were significantly higher than in the roots(T-Hg: p<0.05; MeHg: p<0.01). Hg species concentrations in rhizosphere soil were positively correlated to those in vegetables(p<0.01), indicating that soil was an important source of Hg in vegetables. Risk assessment indicated that the consumption of vegetables could result in higher probable daily intake(PDI) of T-Hg than the provisional tolerable daily intake(PTDI) for both adults and children. In contrast, the PDI of MeHg was lower than the reference dose. | 4 | Spatiotemporal variation of land surface temperature and its driving factors in Xinjiang,China显示文摘Land surface temperature(LST) directly affects the energy balance of terrestrial surface systems and impacts regional resources, ecosystem evolution, and ecosystem structures. Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is located at the arid Northwest China and is extremely sensitive to climate change. There is an urgent need to understand the distribution patterns of LST in this area and quantitatively measure the nature and intensity of the impacts of the major driving factors from a spatial perspective, as well as elucidate the formation mechanisms. In this study, we used the MOD11C3 LST product developed on the basis of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) to conduct regression analysis and determine the spatiotemporal variation and differentiation pattern of LST in Xinjiang from 2000 to 2020. We analyzed the driving mechanisms of spatial heterogeneity of LST in Xinjiang and the six geomorphic zones(the Altay Mountains, Junggar Basin, Tianshan Mountains, Tarim Basin, Turpan-Hami(Tuha) Basin, and Pakakuna Mountain Group) using geographical detector(Geodetector) and geographically weighted regression(GWR) models. The warming rate of LST in Xinjiang during the study period was 0.24℃/10a, and the spatial distribution pattern of LST had obvious topographic imprints, with 87.20% of the warming zone located in the Gobi desert and areas with frequent human activities, and the cooling zone mainly located in the mountainous areas. The seasonal LST in Xinjiang was at a cooling rate of 0.09℃/10a in autumn, and showed a warming trend in other seasons. Digital elevation model(DEM), latitude, wind speed, precipitation, normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI), and sunshine duration in the single-factor and interactive detections were the key factors driving the LST changes. The direction and intensity of each major driving factor on the spatial variations of LST in the study area were heterogeneous. The negative feedback effect of DEM on the spatial differentiation of LST was the strongest. Lower latitudes, lower vegetation coverage, lower levels of precipitation, and longer sunshine duration increased LST. Unused land was the main heat source landscape, water body was the most important heat sink landscape, grassland and forest land were the land use and land cover(LULC) types with the most prominent heat sink effect, and there were significant differences in different geomorphic zones due to the influences of their vegetation types, climatic conditions, soil types, and human activities. | 6 | Soil Geochemical Background Value and Environmental Quality Assessment in Jinan City显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to accurately assess soil and environmental quality in Jinan City. [Methods] Based on the multipurpose regional geochemical survey data of 1∶250 000 in Shandong Province, the differences between the soil geochemical background values of 54 indexes in Jinan City and the soil in the whole province and the comprehensive geochemical class of soil quality were studied. [Results] The contents of C and Cao in Jinan soil was significantly higher than the background values of Shandong Province. The Cd, Cr, Cu, F, Ni, Sn, MgO, Cao and Na_(2)O contents and pH value were higher than the abundance of the A soil layer in China, but the nutrient index contents of Se, I and OrgC were lower than the national background values. The surface soil quality in the study area was generally good, with the sum of superior, good and medium accounting for 99.76% of the total area of the study area. The distribution area of poor soil was the least, accounting for only 0.24%, and it was scattered near industrial and mining enterprises in the urban area of Jinan City, Laiwu District, Gangcheng District and Zhangqiu District, which was closely related to human activities. | 7 | Comparative transcriptome analysis on candidate genes involved in lipid biosynthesis of developing kernels for three walnut cultivars in Xinjiang显示文摘Walnut(Juglans regia L.)is a good source of lipids and polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFAs).In order to explore the biosynthesis molecular mechanism of oil accumulation and fatty acid(FA)synthesis in walnut,the samples at different development periods of three walnut cultivars,’Zhipi’(ZP),’Xinwu 417’(W417)and’Xinwen 81’(W81)were collected for transcriptomic analysis.The analysis of oil accumulation and FA profiles showed that the oil content in mature walnut kernel was nearly 70%,and over 90%of FAs were PUFAs.We identified 126 candidate genes including 64 genes for FA de novo synthesis,45 genes for triacylglycerol assembly,and 17 genes for oil bodies involved in lipid biosynthesis by RNA-sequencing.Ten key enzymes including ACCase,LACS6,LACS8,SAD,FAD2,FAD3,LPAAT1,DGAT2,PDAT2,and PLC encoded by 19 genes were highly associated with lipid biosynthesis.Quantitative PCR analysis further validated 9 important genes,and the results were well consistent with our transcriptomic data.Finally,5 important transcription factors including WRI1,ABI3,FUS3,PKL and VAL1 were identified,and their main regulatory genes might contain ACCase,KASII,LACS,FAD3 and LPAAT which were determined through correlation analysis of expression levels for 27 walnut samples.These findings will provide a comprehensive understanding and valuable information on the genetic engineering and molecular breeding in walnut. | Wenqiang Wang Hao Wen Qiang Jin Wenjun Yu Gen Li Minyu Wu Hongjin Bai Lirong Shen Cuiyun Wu | 2022 | Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,5: | 0 |

| 12 | Inhibitory effects of scorpion venom heat-resistant protein on neurotoxicity of exogenous amyloid beta peptide 1-40显示文摘BACKGROUND: Studies have shown that scorpion venom heat-resistant protein (SVHRP) exhibitsprotective effects on primary cultured hippocampal neurons.OBJECTIVE: To determine the effects of SVHRP on astrocyte activity and synaptic density in thehippocampus induced by amyloid β peptide 1-40 (Aβ_(1-40)) neurotoxicity.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: The randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed atthe Central Laboratory, the Laboratory of Human Anatomy, and the Laboratory of Physiology, inDalian Medical University between March 2006 and June 2008.MATERIALS: Aβ_(1-40) was provided by Biosource, USA; SVHRP was a patented biological product ofDalian Medical University (No. ZL01 1 06166.9).METHODS: A total of 27 healthy, 2-month-old, male SD rats were randomly assigned to 3 groups:control, Aβ, and SVHRP, with 9 rats in each group. Alzheimer's disease was simulated with 10 μgAβ_(1-40) bilaterally injected into the hippocampus of the Aβ and SVHRP groups. The control group wasinjected with 2 μL 0.05% trifluoroacetic acid. One day following model establishment, the SVHRPgroup received an intraperitoneal injection of 2 μg/100 g SVHRP, while the control group and Aβgroup received 0.5 mL/100 g tri-distilled water, once per day, for 10 consecutive days.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: At 16 days following model establishment, synaptophysin (p38)expression in CA1 CA4 regions of the rat hippocampus was determined by immunohistochemistry.Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) expression surrounding the hippocampal Aβ_(1-40) injected areawas also detected. At 11 days following model establishment, escape latency, swimming time, anddistance to target quadrant were measured using the Morris water maze.RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the Aβ group exhibited notably reduced p38expression (P < 0.05) and notably increased GFAP expression in the rat hippocampus (P < 0.05).Water maze results demonstrated that escape latency was prolonged (P < 0.05), and swimming timeand distance to the target quadrant were shortened in the Aβ group. Compared with the Aβ group,the SVHRP group exhibited notably increased p38 expression (P < 0.05) and notably decreasedGFAP expression in the rat hippocampus (P < 0.05). Water maze results demonstrated that escapelatency was significantly reduced (P < 0.05), and swimming time and distance to the target quadrantwere significantly prolonged.CONCLUSION: SVHRP inhibited exogenous Aβ_(1-40)-induced astrocyte activation and synapticdensity decline in the rat hippocampus. Recently,based on the first domestic pilot plant and demonstration project,Baosteel has performed a series of innovative research and development investigations on its sintering flue gas recirculating( SFGR) process,in which the system design and optimization,dioxin-related contaminant source suppression,ore matching structure optimization,wear-resistant design of cycling fans and pipelines,high-efficiency dust removal equipment,system control and stable operation strategy,flue gas mixing and switching control,circular hood sealing,oxygen content conditioning,recirculation sintering system process control,and model development have been studied,and a complete set of equipment and technology for the SFGR process has been initially developed.
