Studies on the evolution process of rockbursts in deep tunnels显示文摘This paper focuses on the evolution processes of different types of rockbursts occurring in deep tunnels. A series of laboratory tests and in-situ monitoring in deep tunnels excavated by tunnel boring machine (TBM) and drill-and-blast (D&B) method have been conducted to understand the mechanisms and processes of the evolution of different types of rockbursts, including strain rockburst, strain-structure slip rockburst, immediate rockburst and time-delayed rockburst. Three different risk assessment methods are proposed to evaluate the intensity and potential failure depth of rockbursts. These methods can be applied before excavation and the results can be updated according to the real-time information during excavation. Two micro-seismicity based real-time warning systems have been established for predicting various intensities of rockbursts, such as slight, moderate, intensive and extremely intensive rockbursts. Meanwhile, the probability and intensity of the rockburst are also given. The strategy for excavation and support design has been suggested for various intensities of rockbursts before excavation. The strategy for dynamic control of the rockburst evolution process is also proposed according to the monitoring results. The methodology has been successfully applied to rockburst risk reduction for deep tunnels at Jinping II hydropower project. The results have illustrated the applicability of the proposed methodology and techniques concerning rockbursts.Xiating Feng Bingrui Chen Shaojun Li Chuanqing Zhang Yaxun Xiao Guangliang Feng Hui Zhou Shili Qiu Zhouneng Zhao Yang Yu Dongfang Chen Huajun Ming 2012Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2012,4,4:11

Nitrogen Deposition and Its Spatial Pattern in Main Forest Ecosystems along North-South Transect of Eastern China显示文摘A continuous three-year observation(from May 2008 to April 2011)was conducted to characterize the spatial variation of dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN)deposition at eight main forest ecosystems along the north-south transect of eastern China(NSTEC).The results show that both throughfall DIN deposition and bulk DIN deposition increase from north to south along the NSTEC.Throughfall DIN deposition varies greatly from 2.7 kg N/(ha·yr)to 33.0 kg N/(ha·yr),with an average of 10.6 kg N/(ha·yr),and bulk DIN deposition ranges from 4.1 kg N/(ha·yr)to 25.4 kg N/(ha·yr),with an average of 9.8 kg N/(ha·yr).NH4+-N is the dominant form of DIN deposition at most sampling sites.Additionally, the spatial variation of DIN deposition is controlled mainly by precipitation. Moreover,in the northern part of the NSTEC,bulk DIN deposition is 17%higher than throughfall DIN deposition, whereas the trend is opposite in the southern part of the NSTEC.The results demonstrate that DIN deposition would likely threaten the forest ecosystems along the NSTEC,compared with the critical loads(CL)of N deposition, and DIN deposition in this region is mostly controlled by agricultural activities rather than industrial activities or transportation.ZHAN Xiaoyun YU Guirui HE Nianpeng FANG Huajun JIA Bingrui ZHOU Mei WANG Chuankuan ZHANG Junhui ZHAO Guangdong WANG Silong LIU Yunfen YAN Junhua 2014Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,2:10
Sedimentary Characteristics and Model of Gravity Flow Depositional System for the First Member of Upper Miocene Huangliu Formation in Dongfang Area, Yinggehai Basin, Northwestern South China Sea显示文摘The gravity flow deposit were mainly developed in the lowstand systems tract(LST) of the first member of Upper Miocene Huangliu Formation(Ehl1) in Dongfang area, Yinggehai Basin, has become a valuable target for gas exploration and production. The gravity flow sedimentary characteristics of lithofacies associations, sedimentary texture, seismic facies and logging facies were described in detail on the basis of integrated analysis of cores, logging and seismic data. The sedimentary microfacies types composed of neritic sandbar, continental shelf mud, main channel, bifurcated or cross-cutting distributary channel, overspill, and natural levee are revealed under the constraint of high resolution sequence stratigraphic framework in the Ehl1. The gravity flow deposit system in the LST is divided into three evolution stages corresponding to periods of three parasequence sets. The gravity flow deposit was induced in the early LST, expanded rapidly in the middle LST and decreased slightly in the late LST. But its developing scale decreased sharply in the transgression systems tract(TST) and finally vanished in the highstand systems tract(HST). This spatial evolution rule is constrained by the integrated function of sediments supply of the Vietnam Blue River in the LST, the development of local gradient change in sea floor(micro-topography, i.e., flexure slope break), and the fall in relative sea level. On the basics of the deep study of the coupling relationship among the three main control factors, the sedimentary model is established as an optimal component of 'source-channel-sink' for shallow marine turbidite submarine fan.Ming Sun Hua Wang Jihua Liao Huajun Gan Jun Xiao Jinfeng Ren Shu'e Zhao 2014Journal of Earth Science2014,25,3:9
Paleogene Tectonic Evolution Controls on Sequence Stratigraphic Patterns in the Fushan Sag, Northern South China Sea显示文摘Tectonism is of extreme importance to sequence stratigraphic patterns in continental sedimentary basins, affecting both the architectures and internal makeup of sequences. Sequence stratigraphic framework of the Paleogene system in the Fushan sag, northern South China Sea, was built using 3D and 2D seismic data, complemented by drilling cores and well logs data. One first-order, three second-order and seven third-order sequences were identified. Analysis of paleotectonic stress field, unconformities and subsidence history showed that the Paleogene tectonic evolution presented significant characteristics of multistage and episode, and can be divided into three stages: rifting stage I(initial rifting period), rifting stage II(rapid subsidence period), rifting stage III(fault-depressed diversionary period). Partition of the west and east in tectonic activity was obvious. The west area showed relatively stronger tectonic activity than the east area, especially during the rifting stage II. Episodic rifting and lateral variations in tectonic activity resulted in a wide variety of structural slope break belts, which controlled both the sequence architectures and interval makeup, and strongly constrained the development of special facies zones or sand bodies that tended to form hydrocarbon accumulation. This paper classifies the genetic types of slope break belts and their relevant sequence stratigraphic patterns within the Fushan sag, and further discusses the tectonic evolution controls on sequence stratigraphic patterns, which suggests that vertical evolution paths of structural slope break belts and relevant sequence stratigraphic patterns as a response to the Paleogene tectonic evolution were strongly controlled by sag margin types and lateral variations of tectonic activity.Guanhong Wang Hua Wang Huajun Gan Entao Liu Cunyin Xia Yingdong Zhao Shanbin Chen Chengcheng Zhang 2016Journal of Earth Science2016,27,4:5

C:N:P stoichiometry of Ericaceae species in shrubland biomes across Southern China:influences of climate, soil and species identity显示文摘Aims Carbon(C),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)stoichiometry strongly affect functions and nutrient cycling within ecosystems. However, the related researches in shrubs were very limited. In this study,we aimed to inves-tigate leaf stoichiometry and its driving factors in shrubs, and whether stoichiometry significantly differs among closely related species. Methods We analyzed leaf C,N and P concentrations and their ratios in 32 species of Ericaceae from 161 sites across southern China. We examined the relationships of leaf stoichiometry with environmen-tal variables using linear regressions, and quantified the interactive and independent effects of climate, soil and species on foliar stoi-chiometry using general linear models(GLM).Important Findings The foliar C,N and P contents of Ericaceae were 484.66,14.44 and 1.06 mg g−1,respectively.Leaf C,N and P concentrations and their ratios in Ericaceae were significantly related with latitude and altitude, except the N:P insignificantly correlated with latitude.Climate(mean annual temperature and precipitation)and soil properties(soil C,N and P and bulk density)were significantly influenced element stoichiom-etry.The GLM analysis showed that soil exerted a greater direct effect on leaf stoichiometry than climate did,and climate affected leaf traits mainly via indirect ways.Further, soil properties had stronger influ-ences on leaf P than on leaf C and N.Among all independent factors examined,we found species accounted for the largest proportion of the variation in foliar stoichiometry. These results suggest that species can largely influence foliar stoichiometry, even at a lower taxonomic level.Qiang Zhang Qing Liu Huajun Yin Chunzhang Zhao Lin Zhang Guoying Zhou Chunying Yin Zhijun Lu Gaoming Xiong Yuelin Li Jiaxiang Li Wenting Xu Zhiyao Tang Zongqiang Xie 2019Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,2:4
Numerical study of three-dimensional wave-induced longshore current's effects on sediment spreading of the Huanghe River mouth显示文摘A three-dimensional wave radiation stress is introduced into the hydrodynamic sediment coupled model COHERENS-SED,which has been developed through introducing wave-enhanced bottom shear stress, wave dependent surface drag coefficient,wave-induced surface mixing,SWAN,damping function of sediment on turbulence, sediment model and depth-dependent wave radiation stress to COHERENS.The COHERENS-SED is adopted to study the effects induced by wave-induced three-dimensional longshore current on suspended sediment spreading of the Huanghe River (Yellow River) mouth.Several different cases divided by setting different wave parameters of inputting boundary waves are carried out.The modeling results agree with measurement data.In terms of simulation results,it is easy to know that three-dimensional wave radiation stress plays an obvious role when inputting boundary wave height is stronger than 3 m.Moreover, wave direction also affects the sediment spreading rules of the mouth strongly too.LIANG Bingchen ZHAO Hongping LI Huajun WU Guoxiang 2012Acta Oceanologica Sinica2012,31,2:4
Dorsal root ganglion-derived Schwann cells combined with poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)/chitosan conduits for the repair of sciatic nerve defects in rats显示文摘Schwann cells, nerve regeneration promoters in peripheral nerve tissue engineering, can be used to repair both the peripheral and central nervous systems. However, isolation and purification of Schwann cells are complicated by contamination with fibroblasts.Current reported measures are mainly limited by either high cost or complicated procedures with low cell yields or purity. In this study,we collected dorsal root ganglia from neonatal rats from which we obtained highly purified Schwann cells using serum-free melanocyte culture medium. The purity of Schwann cells(> 95%) using our method was higher than that using standard medium containing fetal bovine serum. The obtained Schwann cells were implanted into poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)/chitosan conduits to repair 10-mm sciatic nerve defects in rats. Results showed that axonal diameter and area were significantly increased and motor functions were obviously improved in the rat sciatic nerve tissue.Experimental findings suggest that serum-free melanocyte culture medium is conducive to purify Schwann cells and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)/chitosan nerve conduits combined with Schwann cells contribute to restore sciatic nerve defects.Li Zhao Wei Qu Yuxuan Wu Hao Ma Huajun Jiang 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,22:3
Oblique Wave Motion over Multiple Submerged Porous Bars near a Vertical Wall显示文摘This study examines oblique wave motion over multiple submerged porous bars in front of a vertical wall.Based on linear potential theory,an analytical solution for the present problem is developed using matched eigenfunction expansions.A complex dispersion relation is adopted to describe the wave elevation and energy dissipation over submerged porous bars.In the analytical solution,no limitations on the bar number, bar size, and spacing between adjacent bars are set.The convergence of the analytical solution is satisfactory, and the correctness of the analytical solution is confirmed by an independently developed multi-domain BEM(boundary element method) solution.Numerical examples are presented to examine the reflection and transmission coefficients of porous bars,C_R and C_T,respectively,for engineering applications. The calculation results show that when the sum of widths for all the porous bars is fixed, increasing the bar number can significantly improve the sheltering function of the bars.Increasing the bar height can cause more wave energy dissipation and lower C_R and C_T.The spacing between adjacent bars and the spacing between the last bar and the vertical wall are the key parameters affecting C_R and C_T.The proposed analytical method may be used to analyze the hydrodynamic performance of submerged porous bars in preliminary engineering designs.ZHAO Yang LIU Yong LI Huajun CHANG Anteng 2017Journal of Ocean University of China2017,16,4:3
Experimental study of mean overtopping discharge at perforated caissons for non-impulsive waves显示文摘In this study, hydraulic model tests are carried out to investigate the mean overtopping discharge at perforated caisson breakwaters for non-impulsive waves. Based on the experimental data, the mean overtopping discharges of perforated and nonperforated caissons are compared. It is found that when the relative crest freeboard is smaller than 1.6, the mean overtopping discharge of a breakwater can be reduced by at least half by using perforated caissons with 35% porosity instead of nonperforated caissons. The effects of the relative crest freeboard, the caisson porosity and perforation shape, the relative wave chamber width and the relative water depth on the mean overtopping discharge at perforated caissons are clarified. Then, predictive formulas for the mean overtopping discharge at perforated caissons are developed. The predictive formulas based on the experimental data are valid in a wide range of the relative crest freeboard and involve the effects of the caisson porosity and the relative water depth. The predictive formulas developed in this study are of significance for the hydraulic design of perforated caissons.LIU Xiao LIU Yong LI HuaJun WANG XinYu ZHAO Yang 2018Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,5:3
Robust superamphiphobic coatings with gradient and hierarchical architecture and excellent anti-flashover performances显示文摘Biomimetic superhydrophobic(SH)coatings have emerged as a promising alternative to traditional room temperature vulcanizing(RTV)silicone rubber coatings for improving the flashover strength of insulators. However, organic contamination occurs in outdoor applications and thus a superamphiphobic(SAP)surface is more desirable but not yet reported for improving flashover performance.Herein,we developed a novel anti-flashover technique by fabricating robust SAP coating with unique gradient and micro-nanoscale hierarchical architecture. The SAP coating was fabricated by sequentially spray-depositing a resin-based primer and a silica-based topcoat on substrates(i.e.,glass slides and insulators). The primer not only functions as an adhesive offering strong adhesion to the substrate but also offers a micromastoid-like structure facilitating the subsequent formation of hierarchical micro-nanostructure.The appropriate spraying pressure leads to a diffusion of the fluorocarbon-modified silica nanoparticles into the primer to form a unique gradient structure,by analogy to inserting bullets into a wood. These features render the SAP coating excellent robustness with strong abrasive resistance, excellent ultraviolet(UV)resistance, and excellent chemical and thermal stability.Pollution flashover property of the SAP coating was explored and compared with that of SH and RTV specimens, from which a novel organic-contamination model to evaluate the flashover performance was proposed. The coated SAP glass insulator demonstrated 42.9%pollution flashover voltage improvement than RTV-coated insulator. These stated unique features reveal the convincing potential of the present SAP coatings to be applied for not only outdoor transmission line insulators for antiflashover but also other fields for self-cleaning,anti-fouling,and anti-icing.Yi Xie Wei Xiong Shefiu Kareem Chuxiong Qiu Yongfei Hu Ivan PParkin Shengwu Wang Huayun Wang Junwu Chen Lee Li Zhi Chen Huajun Sun Xiujian Zhao 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:2

The cell surface marker CD36 selectively identifies matured, mitochondria-rich hPSC-cardiomyocytes显示文摘Dear Editor,Human pluripotent stem cell(hPSC)-derived cardiomyocytes(CMs)are of significant translational value to in vitro studies of human cardiac development, drug and cardiotoxicity testing and cardiac disease modelling.Differentiation of hPSCs to CMs,however, yields mixed cultures of atrial-,ventricular-,and pacemaker-like cells as well as non-CMs in variable proportions.1 Strategies to enrich CMs from non-CMs and to generate ventricular versus atrial cells have been successful;however, enriched hPSC-CMs are developmentally immature and fail to recapitulate key functional traits that are fundamental to the(patho)physiology of adult CMs.1,2 Moreover, these strategies do not adequately address experimental variabilities caused by differences in the genomes and differentiation capabilities of diverse hPSC lines. One validated approach that overcomes issues of cell heterogeneity and experimental variability is immunophenotyping;however, accessible markers suitable for defining mature, live CMs are lacking.Although cell surface markers such as SIRPA(CD172a)and VCAM1(CD106)3,4 have been used to sort for hPSC-CMs,they do not distinguish between maturation states. Here,we report the identification of CD36 as a cell surface marker of maturation, which can be used to reduce experimental variability and improve drug screens.Ellen Ngar-Yun Poon Xiao-ling Luo Sarah EWebb Bin Yan Rui Zhao Stanley Chun Ming Wu Yong Yang Peng Zhang Huajun Bai Jiaofang Shao Ching Man Chan Godfrey Chi-Fung Chan Suk Ying Tsang Rebekah LGundry Huang-Tian Yang Kenneth RBoheler 2020Cell Research2020,30,7:1
Wave Interaction with a Partially Reflecting Vertical Wall Protected by a Submerged Porous Bar显示文摘This study gives an analytical solution for wave interaction with a partially reflecting vertical wall protected by a submerged porous bar based on linear potential theory. The whole study domain is divided into multiple sub-regions in relation to the structures. The velocity potential in each sub-region is written as a series solution by the separation of variables. A partially reflecting boundary condition is used to describe the partial reflection of a vertical wall. Unknown expansion coefficients in the series solutions are determined by matching velocity potentials among different sub-regions. The analytical solution is verified by an independently developed multi-domain boundary element method(BEM) solution and experimental data. The wave run-up and wave force on the partially reflecting vertical wall are estimated and examined, which can be effectively reduced by the submerged porous bar. The horizontal space between the vertical wall and the submerged porous bar is a key factor, which affects the sheltering function of the porous bar. The wave resonance between the porous bar and the vertical wall may disappear when the vertical wall has a low reflection coefficient. The present analytical solution may be used to determine the optimum parameters of structures at a preliminary engineering design stage.ZHAO Yang LIU Yong LI Huajun 2016Journal of Ocean University of China2016,15,4:1
