| 1 | Removing Endotoxin from Protein Solution by Chitosan Modified Affinity Membrane显示文摘Affinity membrane was prepared with chitosan immobilized on the hydrophile- modified poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR.) analysis indicated that the contents of —NH2 and —OH groups increased and fluoride decreased on the membrane surface after modification. Using this kind of affinity membrane, the effects of operation parameters such as pH, ionic strength and flow rate, on the amount of endotoxin removed were investigated. The results showed that the equilibrium adsorption capacity and the dissociation constant of the affinity membrane to endotoxin were 21.4 EU·mg-1 membrane and 0.50EU·ml-1, respectively, at pH 7.0 and ionic strength 0.2 mol·L-1. Adsorption appeared to follow a typical Langmuir adsorption isotherm. At pH 5.0, ionic strength of 0.2 mol·L-1, the removal rate of endotoxin from BSA solution with the chitosan affinity membrane was up to 88.6% (11.50 EU·mg-1 membrane), and the recovery of BSA was 93.4% (0.187mg·mg-1 membrane), while at pH 11.0, ionic strength of 0.2mol·L-1, the removal rate of endotoxin from lysozyme solution was 72.4% (9.92EU·mg-1 membrane), and the recovery of lysozyme was 92.3% (0.104 mg·mg-1 membrane). | SUN Haixiang(孙海翔) ZHANG Lin(张林) CHAI Hong(柴红) CHEN Huanlin(陈欢林) | 2005 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2005,13,4: | 5 |
| 2 | A NOVEL BOUNDARY INTEGRAL EQUATION METHOD FOR LINEAR ELASTICITY--NATURAL BOUNDARY INTEGRAL EQUATION显示文摘The boundary integral equation (BIE) of displacement derivatives is put at a disadvantage for the difficulty involved in the evaluation of the hypersingular integrals. In this paper, the operators δij and εij are used to act on the derivative BIE. The boundary displacements, tractions and displacement derivatives are transformed into a set of new boundary tensors as boundary variables. A new BIE formulation termed natural boundary integral equation (NBIE) is obtained. The NBIE is applied to solving two-dimensional elasticity problems. In the NBIE only the strongly singular integrals are contained. The Cauchy principal value integrals occurring in the NBIE are evaluated. A combination of the NBIE and displacement BIE can be used to directly calculate the boundary stresses. | 4 | Optimal design of nanofiltration system for surface water treatment显示文摘Both reverse osmosis(RO) and nanofiltration(NF) membranes have been increasingly used for water purification and desalination. However, the salt rejection of NF membranes is quite different from that of RO membranes,which makes a significant distinction in their process designs. This work started from the performance investigation of a single NF membrane element and then focused on the process design of the NF system for surface water treatment. In experimental tests, it was found that the observed rejection of the NF element becomes nearly constant when the concentrate flow is large enough, while the membrane flux of the NF element is quite stable regardless of the water flow across the membrane surface. These findings can be used to instruct the process design of the NF system for surface water treatment. | 6 | A better carbon-water flux simulation in multiple vegetation types by data assimilation显示文摘Background:The accurate estimation of carbon-water flux is critical for understanding the carbon and water cycles of terrestrial ecosystems and further mitigating climate change.Model simulations and observations have been widely used to research water and carbon cycles of terrestrial ecosystems.Given the advantages and limitations of each method,combining simulations and observations through a data assimilation technique has been proven to be highly promising for improving carbon-water flux simulation.However,to the best of our knowledge,few studies have accomplished both parameter optimization and the updating of model state variables through data assimilation for carbon-water flux simulation in multiple vegetation types.And little is known about the variation of the performance of data assimilation for carbon-water flux simulation in different vegetation types.Methods:In this study,we assimilated leaf area index(LAI)time-series observations into a biogeochemical model(Biome-BGC)using different assimilation algorithms(ensemble Kalman filter algorithm(EnKF)and unscented Kalman filter(UKF))in different vegetation types(deciduous broad-leaved forest(DBF),evergreen broad-leaved forest(EBF)and grassland(GL))to simulate carbon-water flux.Results:The validation of the results against the eddy covariance measurements indicated that,overall,compared with the original simulation,assimilating the LAI into the Biome-BGC model improved the carbon-water flux simulations(R^(2)increased by 35%,root mean square error decreased by 10%;the sum of the absolute error decreased by 8%)but more significantly,improved the water flux simulations(R^(2)increased by 31%,root mean square error decreased by 18%;the sum of the absolute error decreased by 16%).Among the different forest types,the data assimilation techniques(both EnKF and UKF)achieved the best performance towards carbon-water flux in EBF(R^(2)increased by 44%,root mean square error decreased by 24%;the sum of the absolute error decreased by 28%),and the performances of EnKF and UKF showed slightly different when simulating carbon fluxes.Conclusion:We suggest that to reduce the uncertainty in global carbon-water flux quantification,forthcoming data assimilation treatment should consider the vegetation types where the data assimilation experiments are carried out,the simulated objectives and the assimilation algorithms. | Qiuyu Liu Tinglong Zhang Mingxi Du Huanlin Gao Qingfeng Zhang Rui Sun | 2022 | Forest Ecosystems2022,9,1: | 1 |
