5Co-seismic fault geometry and slip distribution of the 26 December 2004, giant Sumatra–Andaman earthquake constrained by GPS, coral reef, and remote sensing data显示文摘We analyze co-seismic displacement field of the 26 December 2004, giant Sumatra–Andaman earthquake derived from Global Position System observations,geological vertical measurement of coral head, and pivot line observed through remote sensing. Using the co-seismic displacement field and AK135 spherical layered Earth model, we invert co-seismic slip distribution along the seismic fault. We also search the best fault geometry model to fit the observed data. Assuming that the dip angle linearly increases in downward direction, the postfit residual variation of the inversed geometry model with dip angles linearly changing along fault strike are plotted. The geometry model with local minimum misfits is the one with dip angle linearly increasing along strike from 4.3oin top southernmost patch to 4.5oin top northernmost path and dip angle linearly increased. By using the fault shape and geodetic co-seismic data, we estimate the slip distribution on the curved fault. Our result shows that the earthquake ruptured *200-km width down to a depth of about 60 km.0.5–12.5 m of thrust slip is resolved with the largest slip centered around the central section of the rupture zone78N–108N in latitude. 7Red list assessments of Chinese higher plants显示文摘Based on the two most recent assessments of Chinese higher plants in 2013 and 2020,of 34,450 and 39,330 species,respectively,we analysed the threatened status of Chinese higher plants.In 2020,around 4,088(10.39%)of the assessed species in China are threatened,2,875(7.31%)Near Threatened,27,593(70.16%)not currently threatened and categorised as Least Concern and 4,752(12.08%)categorised as Data Deficient.While in 2013,3,767(10.93%)of the assessed higher plants in China are threatened,2,723(7.90%)Near Threatened,24,296(70.53%)Least Concern and 3,612(10.48%)Data Deficient.Estimates of the Red List Index in the two years show different patterns when using different weighting methods with the equal steps weighting method showing a slight decrease(0.91675-0.91495)and the extinction risk weighting method showing a slight increase(0.98792-0.98797).We inferred that China's threatened plant species were likely/relatively effectively protected.However,attention should also be given to the non-threatened species in the future as an additional strategy for their conservation,to maintain their non-threatened status.Liping Li Haining Qin Eimear Nic Lughadha Yaomin Zheng Huawei Wan Jack Plummer Melanie-Jayne R.Howes Huiyuan Liu Yangming Jiang Tuo Wang Huihui Zhao Zhanfeng Shen Huiping Huang 2023International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1:0
8Defining stratigraphic oil and gas plays by modifying structural plays:A case study from the Xihu Sag,east China Sea Shelf Basin显示文摘The study focuses on an area of relatively mature oil and gas exploration located in the western slope of the Xihu Sag,East China Sea Shelf Basin.Three stratigraphic oil and gas plays are introduced to replenish the shrinking prospect inventory in the area.The reservoirs of these plays are traditional pay intervals of the Eocene Pinghu Formation and Baoshi Formation composed of tide-dominated delta front,tidal flat and delta front sand bar facies.By investigating conventional seismic data,seismic inversion volumes,and well log data,multiple tidal-influenced delta front channels,beach sand packages have been mapped out in different reservoir sand intervals of the Pinghu Formation and Baoshi Formation.We recognize four types of stratigraphic terminations:channel flank pinch-outs,axial pinch-outs of sand-fills,channel mouth sand bar pinch-outs,and onlap pinch-outs for the Baoshi Formation.Both the depositional facies and relatively low sand-shale ratio of the reservoir formations favor the occurrence of stratigraphic terminations.The closure mechanism of all these plays are similar to the traditional structure plays in the area:fault blocks or fault-bounded rollover anticlines,except that one or more closing faults are replaced by these stratigraphic terminations.Several small-sized closures should exist but the relatively large ones are centered around a major intra-slope rise,raising the exploration potential in this maturely explored area.The new exploration drilling campaign has so far tested the play of delta front channel facies,with three out of four wells commercially successful.These play concepts open up a novel approach to identify new traps in the study area and many other rift basins with similar settings in eastern China.Feng Ding Chunyu Xie Xinghai Zhou Cen Jiang Kun Li Lifeng Wan Pei Zhang Huawei Niu 2021Energy Geoscience2021,2,1:0
