1Large piezoelectric response in a family of metal-free perovskite ferroelectric compounds from first-principles calculations显示文摘Metal-free organic perovskite ferroelectric materials have been shown recently to have a number of attractive properties,including high spontaneous polarization and piezoelectric coefficients.In particular,slow evaporation of solutions containing organic amines,inorganic ammoniums,and dilute hydrohalogen acid has been shown to produce several attractive materials in the MDABCO-NH_(4)-I_(3) family(MDABCO is N-methyl-N’-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octonium).In the present work,we study by first-principles calculations the origin of polarizaiton,electronic density of state,piezoelectric response,and elastic properties of MDABCO-NH_(4)-X_(3)(X=Cl,Br,I).We find that the dipole moments of the MDABCO and NH_(4) groups are negligible,and the large spontaneous polarization of MDABCONH_(4)-I_(3) mainly results from MDABCO and NH_(4) being off-center relative to I ions.Although the piezoelectric response of organic materials is usually very weak,we observe large piezoelectric strain components,d_(x4) and d_(x5);the calculated d_(x5) is 119 pC/N for MDABCO-NH_(4)-Cl_(3),248 pC/N for MDABCO-NH_(4)-Br_(3) and 178 pC/N for MDABCO-NH_(4)-I_(3).The large value of dx5 is found to be closely related with the large value of elastic compliance tensor,s44.These results show that MDABCO-NH_(4)-X_(3) metal-free organic perovskites have large piezoelectric response with soft elastic properties.Hui Wang Huihui Liu Zeyu Zhang Zihan Liu Zhenlong Lv Tongwei Li Weiwei Ju Haisheng Li Xiaowu Cai Han Han 2019npj Computational Materials2019,,1:3
2Deep white matter hyperintensity is spatially correlated to MRI-visible perivascular spaces in cerebral small vessel disease on 7 Tesla MRI显示文摘Background The association between perivascular space(PVS)and white matter hyperintensity(WMH)has been unclear.Normal-appearing white matter(NAWM)around WMH is also found correlated with the development of focal WMH.This study aims to investigate the topological connections among PVS,deep WMH(dWMH)and NAWM around WMH using 7 Tesla(7T)MRI.Methods Thirty-two patients with non-confluent WMHs and 16 subjects without WMHs were recruited from our department and clinic.We compared the PVS burden between patients with and without WMHs using a 5-point scale.Then,the dilatation and the number of PVS within a radius of 1 cm around each dWMH were compared with those of a reference site(without WMH)in the contralateral hemisphere.In this study,we define NAWM as an area within the radius of 1 cm around each dWMH.Furthermore,we assessed the spatial relationship between dWMH and PVS.Results Higher PVS scores in the centrum semiovale were found in patients with>5 dWMHs(median 3)than subjects without dWMH(median 2,p=0.014).We found there was a greater dilatation and a higher number of PVS in NAWM around dWMH than at the reference sites(p<0.001,p<0.001).In addition,79.59%of the dWMHs were spatially connected with PVS.Conclusion dWMH,NAWM surrounding WMH and MRI-visible PVS are spatially correlated in the early stage of cerebral small vessel disease.Future study of WMH and NAWM should not overlook MRI-visible PVS.Yajing Huo Yilin Wang Cen Guo Qianyun Liu Lili Shan Mingyuan Liu Haibo Wu Guanwu Li Huihui Lv Lingdan Lu Yintin Zhou Jianfeng Feng Yan Han 2023Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023,8,2:2
3Current State of Monoclonal Antibody Therapy for Allergic Diseases显示文摘Allergic disease is one of the most common chronic diseases,which can affect both children and adults,be often caused by allergen-induced unfavorable immune responses,and initiate various symptoms in different organs,including up-/low-airways and skin,such as asthma,atopic dermatitis,and rhinosinusitis.With increasing prevalence of allergic disease worldwide and their impact on the quality of life,new biological therapeutic approaches for these disorders become hot areas of intensive research.Multiple factors are involved and play important role in the pathogenesis of allergic disease,which can promote or trigger T helper 2(Th2)-type immune responses,leading to production of the type 2 cytokines and immunoglobulin E(IgE),the two critical events in the allergic diseases.Using monoclonal antibodies to target these molecules,therefore,might provide possible benefits for the patients suffered from these diseases.Apart of those having approved biologics for allergic diseases,some potential targets such as epithelial-derived alarmins thymic stromal lymphopoietin(TSLP)and interleukin 33(IL-33)have been also described and proposed to develop monoclonal antibodies against either these cytokines,their receptors,or both.These new and potential targets have substantially enriched the therapeutic opportunities in the field of allergic diseases.The present review aims to briefly outline the role of monoclonal antibodies targeting the cytokines and immunoglobulin involved in the development of allergic diseases,and to discuss the clinical effects of these antibodies.Yan Chen Wei Wang Huihui Yuan Yan Li Zhe Lv Ye Cui Jie Liu Sun Ying 2021Engineering2021,7,11:0

5Gibberellin biosynthesis is required for CPPU-induced parthenocarpy in melon显示文摘Spraying N-(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N′-phenylurea(CPPU),an exogenous cytokinin(CK)growth regulator,is the conventional method for inducing fruit set during melon(Cucumis melo L.)production;however,the mechanism by which CPPU induces fruit set is unclear.Through histological and morphological observations,fruit size was comparable between CPPU-induced fruits and normal pollinated fruits because CPPU-induced fruits had higher cell density but smaller cell size compared with normal pollinated fruits.CPPU promotes the accumulation of gibberellin(GA)and auxin and decreases the level of abscisic acid(ABA)during fruit set.Moreover,application of the GA inhibitor paclobutrazol(PAC)partially inhibits CPPU-induced fruit set.Transcriptome analysis revealed that CPPU-induced fruit set specifically induced the GA-related pathway,in which the key synthase encoding gibberellin 20-oxidase 1(CmGA20ox1)was specifically upregulated.Further study indicated that the two-component response regulator 2(CmRR2)of the cytokinin signaling pathway,which is highly expressed at fruit setting,positively regulates the expression of CmGA20ox1.Collectively,our study determined that CPPU-induced melon fruit set is dependent on GA biosynthesis,providing a theoretical basis for the creation of parthenocarpic melon germplasm.Yue Liu Yang Li Huixin Guo Bingsheng Lv Jing Feng Huihui Wang Zhonghua Zhang Sen Chai 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,6:0
6Effects of RE(La,Ce)on fcc-bcc martensitic transformation of iron via Bain transformation path显示文摘The fundamental understanding of the effects of rare earth(RE)on the phase transformation of Fe-based alloys is essential in the development of advanced RE-containing high strength steels.In this work,we investigated the effects of La and Ce on the martensitic phase transformation of Fe in terms of the driving force and minimum energy path(MEP)using the first-principles calculations.The calculations of formation energy show that the RE substitution increases the stabilization of fcc-Fe and decreases that of bcc-Fe,thus decreasing the driving force of phase transformation.Meanwhile,the analysis based on the generalized solid-state nudged elastic band(G-SSNEB)method indicates that in the RE-containing systems,an additional energy barrier appears when the phase transformation proceeds along the Bain transition path to c/a ratio of 1.14 in the FM state,which is associated with a sudden decrease in magnetization due to the hybridization between the orbits of the RE atoms and those of the nearest neighbor Fe atoms.The results of potential-energy surfaces(PES)confirm that magnetic ordering and lattice volume change simultaneously with the Bain transition,and in comparison to pure Fe,the variation between the onset and the end structural volumes of the phase transformation is slight for the REcontaining Fe systems.Haiyan Wang Xueyun Gao Lei Xing Tingting Zhai Meng Lv Huiping Ren Huihui Wei Jianguo Zhi 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,11:0
7Expression Profile of Immune-Associated Genes in the Kidney of Cultured Large Yellow Croaker Larimichthys crocea in the East China Sea Area显示文摘To explore the effect of environment conditions on immune activity of fish, eight immune-associated genes responsible for innate immunity were selected from the Gen Bank, i.e. Pgrn-a, Ifit2, P-hepcidin, Lect2, β2m, Irf1, Il25 and Hsp96, and the m RNA expressions of them in the kidney of cultured large yellow croaker Larimichthys crocea in different sea areas in the East China Sea were examined with q PCR techniques. In the contrasts of immune-associated gene expression between areas and populations, significant differences were found, expression levels of these immune-associated genes were lower in the clear water area than in the poor water quantity area, and lower in May than in October. MY was more sensitive to environmental factors than DQ, which was coincident with the water quality in the culturing areas. Differential analyses of the expression levels of these immune-associated genes showed that significant up-regulation could be triggered by poor environmental factors. The expression patterns indicated that the expression levels of these genes were sensitive to ecological changes, thereby the immune-associated genes, especially Pgrn-a, Ifit2, β2m, Il25 and Hsp96, might serve as immediate and sensitive indicators of population immunologic vigor and ecosystem health. 9A synthetic light-inducible photorespiratory bypass enhances photosynthesis to improve rice growth and grain yield显示文摘Bioengineering of photorespiratory bypasses is an effective strategy for improving plant productivity by modulating photosynthesis.In previouswork,two photorespiratory bypasses,theGOC andGCGT bypasses,increased photosynthetic rates but decreased seed-setting rate in rice(Oryza sativa),probably owing to excess photosynthate accumulation in the stem.To solve this bottleneck,we successfully developed a newsynthetic photorespiratory bypass(called theGMAbypass)in rice chloroplasts by introducing Oryza sativa glycolate oxidase 1(OsGLO1),Cucurbita maxima malate synthase(CmMS),and Oryza sativa ascorbate peroxidase7(OsAPX7)into the rice genome using a high-efficiency transgene stacking system.Unlike the GOC and GCGT bypass genes driven by constitutive promoters,OsGLO1 in GMA plants was driven by a light-inducible Rubisco small subunit promoter(pRbcS);its expression dynamically changed in response to light,producing a more moderate increase in photosynthate.Photosynthetic rates were significantly increased inGMA plants,and grain yieldswere significantly improved under greenhouse and field conditions.Transgenic GMA rice showed no reduction in seed-setting rate under either test condition,unlike previous photorespiratory-bypass rice,probably reflecting proper modulation of the photorespiratory bypass.Together,these results imply that appropriate engineering of the GMA bypass can enhance rice growth and grain yield without affecting seed-setting rate.Huawei Xu Huihui Wang Yanwen Zhang Xiaoyi Yang Shufang Lv Dianyun Hou Changru Mo Misganaw Wassie Bo Yu Tao Hu 2023Plant Communications2023,4,6:0
