| 4 | Sensitivity-enhanced surface plasmon resonance sensor utilizing a tungsten disulfide (WS_2) nanosheets overlayer显示文摘Tungsten disulfide(WS_2), as a representative layered transition metal dichalcogenide(TMDC) material, possesses important potential for applications in highly sensitive sensors. Here, a sensitivity-enhanced surface plasmon resonance(SPR) sensor with a metal film modified by an overlayer of WS_2 nanosheets is proposed and demonstrated. The SPR sensitivity is related to the thickness of the WS_2 overlayer, which can be tailored by coating a WS_2 ethanol suspension with different concentrations or by the number of times of repeated post-coating.Benefitting from its large surface area, high refractive index, and unique optoelectronic properties, the WS_2 nanosheet overlayer coated on the gold film significantly improves the sensing sensitivity. The highest sensitivity(up to 2459.3 nm∕RIU) in the experiment is achieved by coating the WS_2 suspension once. Compared to the case without a WS_2 overlayer, this result shows a sensitivity enhancement of 26.6%. The influence of the WS_2 nanosheet overlayer on the sensing performance improvement is analyzed and discussed. Moreover, the proposed WS_2 SPR sensor has a linear correlation coefficient of 99.76% in refractive index range of 1.333 to 1.360. | 7 | Epithelial-mesenchymal transition status of circulating tumor cells in breast cancer and its clinical relevance显示文摘Objective:Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)play a critical role in cancer metastasis,but their prevalence and significance remain unclear.This study attempted to track the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)status of CTCs in breast cancer patients and investigate their clinical relevance.Methods:In this study,the established negFACS-IF:E/M platform was applied to isolate rare CTCs and characterize their EMT status in breast cancer.A total of 89 breast cancer patients were recruited,including stage 0–III(n=60)and late stage(n=29)cases.Results:Using the negFACS-IF:E/M platform,it was found that in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)+patients,mesenchymal CTCs usually exhibited a high percentage of HER2+cells.Stage IV breast cancer patients had considerably more CTCs than stage 0–III patients.Among stage 0–III breast cancers,the HER2 subtype included a significantly higher percentage of mesenchymal and biphenotypic(epithelial and mesenchymal)CTCs than the luminal A or B subtypes.Among stage IV patients,CTCs were predominantly epithelial in cases with local recurrence and were more mesenchymal in cases with distant metastasis.By applying a support vector machine(SVM)algorithm,the EMT status of CTCs could distinguish between breast cancer cases with metastasis/local recurrence and those without recurrence.Conclusions:The negFACS-IF:E/M platform provides a flexible and generally acceptable method for the highly sensitive and specific detection of CTCs and their EMT traits in breast cancer.This study demonstrated that the EMT status of CTCs had high clinical relevance in breast cancer,especially in predicting the distant metastasis or local recurrence of breast cancer. | Jiaojiao Zhou Xuan Zhu Shijie Wu Jingxin Guo Kun Zhang Chunjing Xu Huihui Chen Yuxi Jin Yuting Sun Shu Zheng Yiding Chen | 2020 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1: | 3 |

| 9 | Ultra-small platinum nanoparticles segregated by nickle sites for efficient ORR and HER processes显示文摘In the electrochemical process,Pt nanoparticles(NPs)in Pt-based catalysts usually agglomerate due to Oswald ripening or lack of restraint,ultimately resulting in reduction of the active sites and catalytic efficiency.How to uniformly disperse and firmly fix Pt NPs on carbon matrix with suitable particle size for catalysis is still a big challenge.Herein,to prevent the agglomeration and shedding of Pt NPs,Ni species is introduced and are evenly dispersed in the surface of carbon matrix in the form of Ni-N-C active sites(Ni ZIF-NC).The Ni sites can be used to anchor Pt NPs,and then effectively limit the further growth and agglomeration of Pt NPs during the reaction process.Compared with commercial Pt/C catalyst,Pt@Ni ZIF-NC,with ultralow Pt loading(7 wt%)and ideal particle size(2.3 nm),not only increases the active center,but also promotes the catalysis kinetics,greatly improving the ORR and HER catalytic activity.Under acidic conditions,its half-wave potential(0.902 V)is superior to commercial Pt/C(0.861 V),and the mass activity(0.38 A per mg Pt)at 0.9 V is 4.7 times that of Pt/C(0.08 A per mg Pt).Besides,it also shows outstanding HER performance.At 20 and 30 mV,its mass activity is even 2 and 6 times that of Pt/C,respectively.Whether it is under ORR or HER conditions,it still shows excellent durability.These undoubtedly indicate the realization of dual-functional catalysts with low-Pt and high-efficiency properties. | Lvhan Liang Huihui jin Huang Zhou Bingshuai Liu Chenxi Hu Ding Chen Jiawei Zhu Zhe Wang Hai-Wen Li Suli Liu Daping He Shichun Mu | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2: | 2 |

| 11 | Anti-proliferative effect of the extract of Guangzao (Fructus Choerospondiatis) on cultured rat cardiac fibroblasts显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To ascertain if total flavonoids of Guangzao(Fructus Choerospondiatis)(TFFC) extracted from Guangzao(Fructus Choerospondiatis) can inhibit angiotensin Ⅱ-induced proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts(CFs).METHODS: CFs were cultured by the differential attachment method. A model of cell proliferation was established by stimulation with Ang Ⅱ. Cardiac fibroblasts growth was determined using a hemocytometer. Cell proliferation was detected by methyl thiazole tetrazolium. Lactate dehydrogenase activitywas measured by chemical colorimetric method.RESULTS: Proliferation of TFFC-treated(25, 50,100 mg/L) fibroblasts was significantly less than that of cells in the angiotensin Ⅱ group(P < 0.01),and TFFC inhibited proliferation in a dose-dependent manner. | 14 | The miR157-SPL-CNR module acts upstream of bHLH101 to negatively regulate iron deficiency responses in tomato显示文摘Iron(Fe)homeostasis is critical for plant growth,development,and stress responses.Fe levels are tightly controlled by intricate regulatory networks in which transcription factors(TFs)play a central role.A series of basic helix-loop-helix(b HLH)TFs have been shown to contribute to Fe homeostasis,but the regulatory layers beyond b HLH TFs remain largely unclear.Here,we demonstrate that the SQUAMOSA PROMOTER-BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)TF Sl SPL-CNR negatively regulates Fe-deficiency responses in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)roots.Fe deficiency rapidly repressed the expression of Sl SPL-CNR,and Fe deficiency responses were intensified in two clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPRassociated protein 9-generated Sl SPL-CNR knockout lines compared to the wild-type.Comparative transcriptome analysis identified 47 Fe deficiencyresponsive genes the expression of which is negatively regulated by Sl SPL-CNR,one of which,Slb HLH101,helps regulate Fe uptake genes.Sl SPLCNR localizes the nucleus and interacts with the GTAC and BOX 4(ATTAAT)motifs in the Slb HLH101 promoter to repress its expression.Inhibition of Sl SPL-CNR expression in response to Fe deficiency was well correlated with the expression of the micro RNA Slymi R157.Slymi R157-overexpressing tomato lines displayed enhanced Fe deficiency responses,as did Sl SPL-CNR loss-of-function mutants.We propose that the Slymi R157-Sl SPL-CNR module represents a novel pathway that acts upstream of Slb HLH101 to regulate Fe homeostasis in tomato roots. | Huihui Zhu Jiayi Wang Dan Jiang Yiguo Hong Jiming Xu Shaojian Zheng Jianli Yang Weiwei Chen | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,5: | 1 |

| 16 | Development of branchless watermelon near isogenic lines by marker assisted selection显示文摘Pruning is time-consuming and laborious in watermelon cultivation,which can not meet the needs for simplified cultivation in the future.The development of branchless lines will provide important germplasms for breeding watermelon varieties and is an important method for genetic improvement.In this study,the watermelon accession,Wu Cha Zao(WCZ)is a branchless inbred line that carries the branchless gene Clbl,which was used as the donor parent to develop branchless near isogenic lines(NILs).To construct the NILs of Clbl,WCZ crossed with the normal branching watermelon inbred line WT20 which was used as the recurrent parent.The co-segregating markers dCAPS10 and Indel1 with Clbl were used for foreground selection,and a total of 108 SSR markers was selected with good polymorphism between two parental lines for background selection which had relatively uniform distribution across 11 chromosomes.Using these markers to select individuals from the BC_(1)F_(1),BC_(2)F_(1),and BC_(2)F_(2) generations,three NILs with a proportion of recurrent parent genome(PRPG)>99%were finally obtained.The lateral branch and plant height phenotypes did not significantly differ between the NILs and WCZ,indicating that the NILs of Clbl under the genetic background of WT20 has been successfully developed.These results provide ideal materials for further in-depth analysis of the genetic mechanisms of lateral branch development and ideal plant architecture breeding in watermelon. | Junling Dou Yinping Wang Huihui Yang Huanhuan Niu Dongming Liu Sen Yang Huayu Zhu Shouru Sun Luming Yang | 2022 | Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,5: | 1 |
