Evidence of crustal ‘channel flow’ in the eastern margin of Tibetan Plateau from MT measurements显示文摘Magnetotelluric (MT) survey has been carried out in the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau and its neighboring Shimian-Leshan area, Sichuan Province. Analysis of this MT data reveals that the electric structure of the Tibetan Plateau differ much from that of the Sichuan block. In general, the electric re-sistivity of crust beneath the Sichuan block in the east is larger than that of the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau in the west. The crust of the plateau is divided into upper, middle, and lower layers. The middle crust is a low resistivity layer with minimum down to 3―10 Ωm about 10―15 km thick. It pre-sumably contains partial melt and/or salt-bearing fluids with low viscosity, prone to deform and flow, producing a 'channel flow' under the southeastward squeeze of the eastern Tibetan Plateau. This low-resistivity layer makes the upper crust decoupled mechanically from the lower crust. In the brittle upper crust, faults are dominated by left-lateral strike-slip and thrust motions, leading to surface rising and shallow earthquakes. The low-resistivity layer also cut the Xianshuihe-Anninghe fault zone into two sections vertically. In this region, the thicknesses of upper, middle, and lower crust vary laterally, pro-ducing a transitional zone in the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau characterized by thicker crust and higher elevation in the west and thinner crust and lower elevation in the east.ZHAO GuoZe CHEN XiaoBin WANG LiFeng WANG JiJun TANG Ji WAN ZhanSheng ZHANG JiHong ZHAN Yan XIAO QiBin 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,12:57
Chinese expert consensus on cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies显示文摘Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. This expert consensus has summarized the progress in PC clinical studies and systematically evaluated the CRS + HIPEC procedures in China as well as across the world, so as to lay the foundation for formulating PC treatment guidelines specific to the national conditions of China.Yan Li Yun-Feng Zhou Han Liang Hua-Qing Wang Ji-Hui Hao Zheng-Gang Zhu De-Seng Wan Lun-Xiu Qin Shu-Zhong Cui Jia-Fu Ji Hui-Mian Xu Shao-Zhong Wei Hong-Bin Xu Tao Suo Shu-Jun Yang Cong-Hua Xie Xiao-Jun Yang Guo-Liang Yang 2016World Journal of Gastroenterology2016,22,30:58

How many sutures in the southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt:Insights from East Xinjiang-West Gansu(NW China)?显示文摘How ophiolitic mèlanges can be defined as sutures is controversial with regard to accretionary orogenesis and continental growth. The Chinese Altay,East junggar,Tianshan, and Beishan belts of the southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB) in Northwest China, offer a special natural laboratory to resolve this puzzle. In the Chinese Altay, the Erqis unit consists of ophiolitic melanges and coherent assemblages, forming a Paleozoic accretionary complex. At least two ophiolitic melanges(Armantai, and Kelameili) in East Junggar, characterized by imbricated ophiolitic melanges,Nb-enriched basalts, adakitic rocks and volcanic rocks, belong to a Devonian-Carboniferous intra-oceanic island arc with some Paleozoic ophiolites, superimposed by Permian arc volcanism. In the Tianshan, ophiolitic melanges like Kanggurtag,North Tianshan, and South Tianshan occur as part of some Paleozoic accretionary complexes related to amalgamation of arc terranes. In the Beishan there are also several ophiolitic melanges, including the Hongshishan,Xingxingxia-Shibangjing,Hongliuhe-Xichangjing,and Liuyuan ophiolitic units. Most ophiolitic melanges in the study area are characterized by ultramafic, mafic and other components, which are juxtaposed,or even emplaced as lenses and knockers in a matrix of some coherent units. The tectonic settings of various components are different, and some adjacent units in the same melange show contrasting different tectonic settings. The formation ages of these various components are in a wide spectrum, varying from Neoproterozoic to Permian. Therefore we cannot assume that these ophiolitic melanges always form in linear sutures as a result of the closure of specific oceans.Often the ophiolitic components formed either as the substrate of intra-oceanic arcs,or were accreted as lenses or knockers in subduction-accretion complexes.Using published age and paleogeographic constraints,we propose the presence of (1) a major early Paleozoic tectonic boundary that separates the Chinese Altay-East Junggar multiple subduction systems of the southern Siberian active margin from those of the northern Tarim;and (2) a major Permian suture zone that separates the Tianshan-Beishan from the northern active margin of the Tarim Craton. These new observations and interpretations have broad implications for the architecture and crustal growth of central Asia and other ancient orogens as well.Wenjiao Xiao Chunming Han Wei Liu Bo Wan Ji'en Zhang Songjian Ao Zhiyong Zhang Dongfang Song Zhonghua Tian Jun Luo 2014Geoscience Frontiers2014,5,4:31
FEM Analysis of Spring-backs in Age Forming of Aluminum Alloy Plates显示文摘The age forming technology, characterized by huge spring-backs, has been developed to manufacture large integral wing-skin panel parts, which necessitates devising a method of predicting spring-backs. A 7B04-T7451 aluminum alloy creep test in tension is accomplished at 155 °C, and the creep curves are obtained. The material constants of the mechanism-based creep constitutive equations are determined through experiments. The age forming process and the spring-backs of 7B04 aluminum alloy plates are analyzed using the commercial finite element software ABAQUS. The effects of plate thickness and forming time on spring-backs are researched. The spring-backs decrease with the increase of plate thickness and forming time. The test results verify the reliability of the finite element method (FEM) analysis.Huang Lin Wan Min Chi Cailou Ji Xiusheng 2007Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2007,20,6:23
Anatomy of composition and nature of plate convergence: Insights for alternative thoughts for terminal India-Eurasia collision显示文摘The pattern and timing of collision between India and Eurasia have long been a major concern of the international community. However, no consensus has been reached hitherto. To explore and resolve the disagreements in the Himalayan study,in this paper we begin with the methodology and basic principles for the anatomy of composition and nature of convergent margins, then followed by an effort to conduct a similar anatomy for the India-Eurasia collision. One of the most common patterns of plate convergence involves a passive continental margin, an active continental margin and intra-oceanic basins together with accreted terranes in between. The ultimate configuration and location of the terminal suture zone are controlled by the basal surface of the accretionary wedge, which may show fairly complex morphology with Z-shape and fluctuant geometry. One plausible method to determine the terminal suture zone is to dissect the compositions and structures of active continental margins. It requires a focus on various tectonic elements belonging to the upper plate, such as accretionary wedges, high-pressure(HP)-ultra-high-pressure(UHP) metamorphic rocks, Barrovian-type metamorphic rocks and basement nappes, together with superimposed forearc basins.Such geological records can define the extreme limits and the intervening surface separating active margin from the passive one, thus offering a general sketch for the surface trace of the terminal suture zone often with a cryptic feature. Furthermore, the occurrence of the cryptic suture zone in depth may be constrained by geophysical data, which, in combination with outcrop studies of HP-UHP metamorphic rocks, enables us to outline the terminal suture zone. The southern part of the Himalayan orogen records complicated temporal and spatial features, which are hard to be fully explained by the classic 'two-plate-one-ocean' template, therefore re-anatomy of the compositions and nature for this region is necessitated. Taking advantage of the methodology and basic principles of plate convergence anatomy and synthesizing previous studies together with our recent research, we may gain new insights into the evolution of the Himalayan orogeny.(1) The Yarlung-Zangbo ophiolite is composed of multiple tectonic units rather than a single terminal suture zone, and a group of different tectonic units were juxtaposed against each other in the backstop of the Gangdese forearc.(2) The Tethyan Himalayan Sequence(THS) contains mélanges with typical block-in-matrix structures, uniform southwards paleocurrents and age spectra of detrital zircons typical of Eurasia continent. All of these facts indicate that the THS belonged to Eurasia plate before the terminal collision, emplaced in the forearc of the Gangdese arc.(3) The Greater Himalayan Crystalline Complex(GHC) and Lesser Himalayan Sequence(LHS) comprise complex components including eclogites emplaced into the GHC and the upper part of the LHS. Judging from the fact that HP-UHP metamorphic rocks are exhumed and emplaced in the upper plate, the GHC and the upper part of the LHS where eclogite occur should be assigned to the upper plate, lying above the terminal subduction zone surface. It is the very surface along which the continuous subduction of the India subcontinent occurred, therefore acting as the terminal, cryptic suture. From the suture further southward, the bulk rock associations of the LHS and Sub-Himalayan Sequence(Siwalik) show little affinity of mélange, probably belonging to the foreland system of the India plate. By the anatomy of tectonic features of all the tectonic units in the Himalayan orogen as well as the ages of the subduction-accretion related deformation, we conclude that the terminal India-Eurasia collision occurred after 14 Ma, the timing of the metamorphism of the eclogites emplaced into the upper plate. The development of rifts stretching in N-S direction in Tibet and tectonic events with the transition from sinistral to dextral movements in shear zones, such as the Ailaoshan fault in East Tibet, can coordinately reflect the scale and geodynamic influence of the India-Eurasia convergence zone.By conducting a detailed anatomy of the southern Himalayas, we propose a new model for the final collision-accretion of the Himalayan orogeny. Our study indicates that the anatomy of structures, composition, and tectonic nature is the key to a better understanding of orogenic belts, which may apply to all the orogenic belts around the world. We also point out that several important issues regarding the detailed anatomy of the structures, compositions and tectonic nature of the Himalayan orogeny in future.XIAO WenJiao AO SongJian YANG Lei HAN ChunMing WAN Bo ZHANG Ji'En ZHANG ZhiYong LI Rui CHEN ZhenYu SONG ShuaiHua 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,6:20
Fine mapping and marker-assisted selection (MAS) of a low glutelin content gene in rice显示文摘Rice with low glutelin content is suitable as functional food for patients affected with diabetes and kidney failure. The fine mapping of the gene(s) responsible for low glutelin content will provide information regarding the distribution of glutelin related genes in rice genome and will generate markers for the selection of low glutelin rice varieties. Following an SDS-PAGE screen of rice germplasm from Taihu Valley of China, Japonica selection W3660 is identified to be a novel mutant characterized with low glutelin content. For fine mapping the mutant gene for low glutelin content, F2 and F3 populations were derived from a cross between W3660 and Jingrennuo. SDS-PAGE analysis of the total endosperm protein showed that the low glutelin content trait was controlled by a single dominant nuclear gene. Genetic mapping, using SSRs, located this gene to chromosome 2, in the region between SSR2-001/SSR2-004 and RM1358. The dis- tances of the two markers to the target gene were 1.1 cM and 3.8 cM respectively. By semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis, the transcripts of GluB4/GluB5 genes located within the region do not change. However, GluB5 gene located proximal to SSR2-001/SSR2-004 was specifically reduced. SSR profiles of seven Japonica varieties were compared with that of W3660 for loci in the relevant genetic region. The markers SSR2-004 and RM1358 were used for marker- assisted selection. The selection efficiencies of SSR2-004 and RM1358 were 96.8% and 92.7% respectively. This provides a standard starting point for the breeding of low glutelin content rice varieties in China.Yi Hua WANG Shi Jia LIU Su Lan JI Wen Wei ZHANG Chun Ming WANG Ling JIANG Jian Min WAN 2005Cell Research2005,15,8:16
Accretionary processes and metallogenesis of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt:Advances and perspectives显示文摘As one of the largest Phanerozoic orogens in the world, the Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB)is a natural laboratory for studies of continental dynamics and metallogenesis. This paper summarizes the research progresses of the accretionary processes and metallogenesis of the CAOB since the Peopled Republic of China was founded, and puts forward the prospect for future research.During the early period(1950s-1970s),several geological theories were applied to explain the geological evolution of Central Asia.In the early period of China's reform and opening-up,the plate tectonics theory was applied to explain the evolution of the northern Xinjiang and Xingmeng regions, and the opinion of subduction-collision between Siberian Kazakhstan and China-North Korea-Tarim plates was proposed. The idea of the Solonker-Yanbian suture zone was established. In the 1990s,the study of the CAOB entered a period of rapid development. One school of scholars including geologists from the former Soviet Union proposed a multi-block collision model for the assemblage of the CAOB.In contrast, another school of scholars, led by a Turkish geologist,Celal Sengor, proposed that the Altaids was formed through the growth and strike-slip duplicates of a single island arc,and pointed out that the Altaids is a special type of collisional orogen.During this period,Chinese geologists carried out a lot of pioneering researches on ophiolites and high-pressure metamorphic rocks in northern China, and confirmed the main suture zones accordingly. In 1999,the concept of'Central Asian metallogenic domain'was proposed, and it became one of the three major metallogenic domains in the world.Since the 21st century, given the importance for understanding continental accretion and metallogenic mechanism, the CAOB has become the international academic forefront.China has laid out a series of scientific research projects in Central Asia.A large number of important scientific research achievements have been spawned, including the tectonic attribution of micro-continents,timing and tectonic settings of ophiolites, magmatic arcs, identification and anatomy of accretionary wedges, regional metamorphism-deformation,(ultra)high-pressure metamorphism, ridge subduction plume-plate interaction archipelagic paleogeography and spatio-temporal framework of multiple accretionary orogeny, continental growth accretionary metallogenesis, structural superposition and transformation etc. These achievements have made important international influences. There still exist the following aspects that need further study:(1)Early evolution history and subduction initiation of the Paleo-Asian Ocean;(2)The accretionary mechanism of the extroversion Paleo-Asian Ocean;(3)The properties of the mantle of the Paleo-Asian Ocean and their spatiotemporal distribution;(4)The interaction between the Paleo-Asian Ocean and the Tethys Ocean;(5)Phanerozoic continental growth mechanism and its global comparison;(6)Accretionary metallogenic mechanism of the Central Asian metallogenic domain;and(7)Continental transformation mechanism.Wenjiao XIAO Dongfang SONG Brian FWINDLEY Jiliang LI Chunming HAN Bo WAN Ji'en ZHANG Songjian AO Zhiyong ZHANG 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,3:16

Sinomenine ester derivative inhibits glioblastoma by inducing mitochondria-dependent apoptosis and autophagy by PI3K/AKT/mTOR and AMPK/mTOR pathway显示文摘Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM)in the central nervous system is the most lethal advanced glioma and currently there is no effective treatment for it.Studies of sinomenine,an alkaloid from the Chinese medicinal plant,Sinomenium acutum, showed that it had inhibitory effects on several kinds of cancer. Here,we synthesized a sinomenine derivative,sino-wcj-33(SW33),tested it for antitumor activity on GBM and explored the underlying mechanism.SW33 significantly inhibited proliferation and colony formation of GBM and reduced migration and invasion of U87 and U251 cells. It also arrested the cell cycle at G2/M phase and induced mitochondria-dependent apoptosis.Differential gene enrichment analysis and pathway validation showed that SW33 exerted anti-GBM effects by regulating PI3 K/AKT and AMPK signaling pathways and significantly suppressed tumorigenicity with no obvious adverse effects on the body.SW33 also induced autophagy through the PI3 K/AKT/mTOR and AMPK/mTOR pathways.Thus,SW33 appears to be a promising drug for treating GBM effectively and safely.Xiangjin Zheng Wan Li Huanli Xu Jinyi Liu Liwen Ren Yihui Yang Sha Li Jinhua Wang Tengfei Ji Guanhua Du 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11:15

The formation and evolution of Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-uplift and its control on the distributions of sedimentary facies in the Junggar Basin显示文摘The Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-uplift is a large-scale uplift stretching across the Junggar Basin formed during the Yanshanian. It has experienced four evolutionary stages: the initial forming stage (J1), the intense development stage (J2+3), the waning and burial stage (K-E), and the tilting and extinction stage (N-Q). The most intense period of activities is the Middle Jurassic. Dur-ing the Early Jurassic, the Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-structure was a low amplitude uplift. Because of the subsequent strong uplifting during Middle-Late Jurassic, the Middle and Upper Jurassic were eroded. With the evolution of the Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-uplift, the sedimentary pattern of the basin changed, and the paleo-uplift separated the northern depositional systems from those in the south side. As a result, the basin tectonics controlled the distribution and evolution of the depositional systems. During Early Jurassic, while the paleo-uplift was low, its controlling effect on depositional systems was limited and sediments coming from the northwest could reach the central and southern parts of the basin. With the strong uplifting of the Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-structure during Middle-Late Jurassic, sediments from the northwest provenance could only deposit in the northern graben of the paleo-uplift. The intense erosion of the Middle-Upper Jurassic also changed the former sedimentary center of the basin into a source area, supplying sediments for grabens on both sides of the paleo-uplift. In the Cretaceous, regional subsidence caused the paleo-uplift to be buried again and subsequently sediments accumulated on top of it. The depositional facies are dominated by fluvial in the Early Cretaceous and shallow lacustrine to deltaic in the Late Cretaceous. In the history of the long-lasting development of this paleo-uplift, large-scale erosions of the paleohigh not only provided sufficient sediments to the center of the Junggar Basin, but also created favorable conditions for the formation of various subtle traps such as lithologic and stratigraphic traps.JI YouLiang ZHOU Yong KUANG Jun WAN Lu ZHANG Rui LU ChunHong 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,6:10
Impact of tumor location on clinical outcomes of gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection显示文摘AIM:To determine whether there is a correlation between the location of the lesion and endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)outcome.METHODS:From January 2008 to December 2010,ESD of 1443 gastric tumors was performed.En bloc resection rate, complete resection rate, procedure time and complication rate were analyzed according to the tumor location.RESULTS:The rates of en bloc resection and complete resection were 91%(1318/1443)and 89%(1287/1443),respectively.The post-ESD bleeding rate was 4.3%,and perforation rate was 2.7%.Tumors located in the upper third of the stomach were associated with a longer procedure time and significantly higher rates of incomplete resection, piecemeal resection, and perforation than tumors below the upper third of the stomach.Posterior wall lesions had significantly longer procedure times and higher rates of incomplete resection and piecemeal resection than lesions in other locations. In multivariate analysis, posterior wall lesions and upper third lesions were significantly associated with incomplete resection and perforation, respectively. In post-ESD bleeding analysis, location was not a significant related factor.CONCLUSION:More advanced endoscopic techniques are required during ESD for lesions located in the upper third or posterior wall of the stomach to decrease complications and improve therapeutic outcomes.Ji Young Yoon Choong Nam Shim Sook Hee Chung Wan Park Hyunsoo Chung Hyuk Lee Sung Kwan Shin Sang Kil Lee Yong Chan Lee Jun Chul Park 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,26:10

A comparative study of dust control practices in Chinese and Australian longwall coal mines显示文摘Mine dust is one of the main hazards in underground longwall mines worldwide. In order to solve the mine dust problem,a significant number of studies have been carried out regarding longwall mine dust control, both in China and Australia. This paper presents a comparative study of dust control practices in Chinese and Australian longwall mines, with particular references to statutory limits, dust monitoring methods and dust management practices, followed by a brief discussion on the research status of longwall mine dust control in both countries. The study shows that water infusion, face ventilation controls, water sprays, and deep and wet cutting in longwall shearer operations are commonly practiced in almost all underground longwall mines and that both Chinese and Australian longwall mine dust control practices have their own advantages and disadvantages. It is concluded that there is a need for further development and innovative design of more effective dust mitigation products or systems despite the development of various dust control technologies.Based on the examinations and discussions, the authors have made some recommendations for further research and development in dust control in longwall mines. It is hoped that this comparative study will provide beneficial guidance for scholars and engineers who are engaging in longwall mine dust control research and practice.Ji Yinlin Ren Ting Wynne Peter Wan Zhijun Ma Zhaoyang Wang Zhimin 2016International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2016,26,2:9
Allele-defined genome reveals biallelic differentiation during cassava evolution显示文摘Dear Editor,Generation of heterozygous genomes by hybridization between or within species can help maintain plant diversity and serve as a potential source of new species(Baek et al.,2018).Moreover,genomic heterozygosity is associated with genomic coadaptation, developmental stability, and heterosis.Accurate definition of alleles in haplotypes is necessary to precisely characterize allelic variation controlling agriculturally important traits(Shi et al.,2019).Currently,most released genomes have mosaic assembly of haplotypes due to random selection or collapse of alleles during genome assembly(Shi et al.,2019),which masked allelic variation and functional differentiation of divergent alleles in heterozygous species.Wei Hu Changmian Ji Haitao shi Zhe Liang Zehong Ding Jianqiu Ye Wenjun Ou Gang Zhou Weiwei Tie Yan Yan Jinghao Yang Xiaoying Yang Yunxie Wei Zhiqiang Jin Jianghui Xie Ming Peng Wenquan Wang Anping Guo Biyu Xu Jianchun Guo Songbi Chen Liming Ma Mingcheng Wang Yang Zhou Xiaolong Li Ruoxi Li Siyi Guo Xinhui Xiao Zhongqing Wan Feifei An Jie Zhang Qingyun Leng Yin Li Ray Ming Kaimian Li 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,6:8
Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes.MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 2020Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12:8
Incipient sediment motion based on turbulent fluctuations显示文摘The current study modifies the representation of the Shields parameter using turbulent strength,i.e.the root-mean-square(rms) fluid velocity.Experiments were done under a steady, uniform flow using eight sediment sizes with particle Reynolds numbers(Rep) ranging between 1.0(fine sediment) and 183.4(coarse sediment).Utilising the peak rms horizontal(u) values, the critical Shields parameter,θ_c,was calculated and a trend similar to the well-established Shields curve was developed. The analysis was extended to the Shields curve obtained based on the critical shear velocity,Reynolds shear stress, and data extracted fro m the oscillating grid-turbulence experiments. Results show that turbulent fluctuations are crucial for the incipient sediment motion and are essentially better predictors than the commonly used critical shear velocity.A quadrant analysis to identify the role of turbulent bursting events in incipient sediment motion also was done where sweeps and ejections are dominant for finer and coarser sediment sizes, respectively.Wan Hanna Melini Wan Mohtar Ji Wang Lee Najwa Izzaty Mohammad Azha Nian-Sheng Cheng 2020International Journal of Sediment Research2020,35,2:7
Influence of lanthanum on enhancement of mechanical and electrical properties of Cu-Al_2O_3 composites显示文摘Two kinds of Cu-Al_2O_3 composites(with and without La) were prepared via mechanical alloying-spark plasma sintering(MA-SPS) method. Microstructure, mechanical properties and electrical resistivity were investigated systematically using metallography, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, mechanical and electrical properties testing. The results indicate that an appropriate amount of La can homogenize the distribution of Al_2O_3. As such, yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation of Cu-Al_2O_3-La are greatly increased. Some semi-coherent interface between Cu and Al_2O_3 is found, which means a low interface energy. The grain shape of Cu changes to irregular band with the addition of La. This change results in a density decrease of grain boundary and reduces electrical resistance. Lanthanum may exist in the form of La_2O_3.Yifan Zhang Zhen Ji Chengchang Jia Guimin Liu Farong Wan Qian Zhan 2019Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,5:7
Deep electrical structure of the Sulu orogen and neighboring areas显示文摘Because of the discovery of ultrahigh pressure metamorphic (UHPM) belt beneath the Sulu (Jiangsu Province-Shandong Province) orogen, this area has become a focused subject of current geoscience, as it has a close relationship with the evolution of the orogen and the neighboring North China craton. Probing the deep structure beneath this area would be of great significance for the geological inter- pretation of this issue. In this study, we make an analysis of magnetotelluric (MT) data along a profile across the Sulu orogen to provide evidence of deep structure below this region. The profile begins in west from the North China block, extending in S129oE, across the Tan-Lu fault, Sulu UHPM zone, and Sulu high pressure metamorphic (HPM) zone, and terminates in the Yangtze block in east. We use the nonlinear conjugate gradient method and TE-TM combined mode to perform inversion and interpreta- tion of the MT data, and obtain an electrical structure image above depth of 150 km along the profile. It shows that the structure can be divided into seven sections in lateral direction, between which the electric boundaries coincide well with the major faults, such as the Tan-Lu, Haizhou-Siyang, and Ji- ashan-Xiangshui faults. In vertical direction the electrical structure can be subdivided into six layers of different resistivities. It is noted that there exist high-conductivity areas in crust below the North China block and Yangtze block, while such a feature is not present beneath the Sulu orogen, which is very different from the Dabie orogen. It is also observed that a fairly continuous zone of relatively low-resistivity exists at depths of 50-90 km of the electrical structure image, which is presumably a weak zone in the uppermost mantle. Just below this low-resistivity zone are the relatively high- resis- tivity layer of the North China block, relatively low-resistivity layer of the Sulu orogen, and relatively high-resistivity layer of the Yangtze block, all in the shallow upper mantle, respectively. From the whole 2D electrical structure image, there is no abnormally low-resistivity layer in the shallow upper mantle beneath the Sulu orogen and neighboring areas, indicating that no hot asthenoshperic material asso- ciated with lithospheric thinning exists at present.XIAO QiBin ZHAO GuoZe WANG JiJun ZHAN Yan CHEN XiaoBin TANG Ji CAI JunTao WAN ZhanSheng WANG LiFeng MA Wei ZHANG JiHong 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,3:7
