2Comparison of diagnostic accuracy between ^(18)F-FDG PET and PET/CT for pulmonary neoplasm显示文摘Aimed at comparing diagnostic accuracy of 18F-FDG PET with PET/CT for pulmonary neoplasm, a study based on multi-center clinical trial of the diagnoses, in randomized and semi-blind ways, was executed from January 2006 to June 2007. It included 55 patients, i.e. 16 with histopathologically proved lung tumors, 16 with tuberculosis and 23 with benign lesions (inflammation, pseudotumor, granuloma, fibrosis and others). The histopathologic and clinic results were served as reference standard. Statistical significances in pulmonary nodule diagnosis between 18F-FDG PET and PET/CT were determined with 95% confidence interval obtained by ROC analysis. The 18F-FDG PET detected lung neoplasm with a sensitivity of 87.5% (14/16), a specificity of 59.0% (23/39), an accuracy of 67.3% (37/55) and a positive-likelihood ratio of 2.13. The 18F-FDG PET/CT detected lung neoplasm with a sensitivity of 93.8% (15/16), a specificity of 61.5% (24/39), an accuracy of 70.9% (39/55) and a positive-likelihood ratio of 2.43. The area under curves (AUC) of 18F-FDG PET and PET/CT were 0.803±0.068 and 0.799±0.063, respectively. 3Layer-structure adjustable MoS_(2) catalysts for the slurry-phase hydrogenation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons显示文摘Slurry-phase hydrogenation technology is the frontier topic in the efficient conversion of heavy oils into light fractions around the world.Developing highly active dispersed MoS_(2) catalysts is the major obstacle to realize the industrial application of upgrading heavy oils.In this work,both top-down ball-milling method and bottom-up hydrothermal method were designed to synthesize MoS_(2) catalysts with controllable layer structures.The stacking layers and lateral sizes for micro-scaled MoS_(2) catalysts by ball-milling method can be reduced to their limits and stabilize at 6~8 layers and lateral size of ca.30 nm.The more flexible bottom-up hydrothermal method can construct MoS_(2) catalysts with much smaller lateral sizes and fewer stacking layers,especially,MoS_(2) catalyst fabricated with ammonium tetrathiomolybdate as Mo and S precursor possesses average stacking layers of 2 and lateral size of 5 ~ 10 nm.Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons anthracene,phenanthrene and naphthalene were used as model compounds of heavy oils to investigate the catalytic hydrogenation performance of designed MoS_(2) catalysts.The catalytic activities of MoS_(2) catalysts can be well correlated with their stacking layers and lateral size.The edges of top and bottom S-Mo-S atomic layers for MoS_(2) sheets,named rim sites,are positively correlated with the exposure of active sites for catalytic hydrogenation of PAHs.The highest catalytic activity of MoS_(2) catalyst results from its layer structures of 100% rim sites and the smallest lateral size of5 ~ 10 nm,which is beneficial to expose maximum active sites for catalytic hydrogenation reactions.This work can guide us to design the highly active hydrogenation catalysts,and promote the industrial application of upgrading heavy oils.Donge Wang Jiahe Li Huaijun Ma Chenggong Yang Zhendong Pan Wei Qu Zhijian Tian 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,12:2

8Application of synthetic biology in bladder cancer显示文摘Bladder cancer(BC)is the most common malignant tumor of the genitourinary system.The age of individuals diagnosed with BC tends to decrease in recent years.A variety of standard therapeutic options are available for the clinical management of BC,but limitations exist.It is difficult to surgically eliminate small lesions,while radiation and chemotherapy damage normal tissues,leading to severe side effects.Therefore,new approaches are required to improve the efficacy and specificity of BC treatment.Synthetic biology is a field emerging in the last decade that refers to biological elements,devices,and materials that are artificially synthesized according to users’needs.In this review,we discuss how to utilize genetic elements to regulate BC-related gene expression periodically and quantitatively to inhibit the initiation and progression of BC.In addition,the design and construction of gene circuits to distinguish cancer cells from normal cells to kill the former but spare the latter are elaborated.Then,we introduce the development of genetically modified T cells for targeted attacks on BC.Finally,synthetic nanomaterials specializing in detecting and killing BC cells are detailed.This review aims to describe the innovative details of the clinical diagnosis and treatment of BC from the perspective of synthetic biology.Mengting Ding Jiaxing Lin Caipeng Qin Ping Wei Jiahe Tian Tianxin Lin Tao Xu 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,18:0
9Signif icance of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy and Immunohistochemistry in Diagnosis and Staging of Stage-cN0 Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE To assess the signifi cance of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB), serial section and cytokeratin immunohistochemical staining in the diagnosis and staging of Stage-cN0 oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). METHODS A blue stain, 99mTc-dextran SPECT lymphoscintigrapgy and intraoperative γ-ray probes were used to examine the sentinel nodes in 31 cases with Stage-cN0 oral cancer. The H&E staining and a cytokeratin AE1/ AE3 immunohistochemistry (IHC) assessment, with serial sections, were conducted to provide results obtained from a routine pathological examination of lymph nodes. The value of the routine pathological examination of the sentinel lymph node (SLN), serial sections and IHC determination for cervical lymph node metastasis of Stage-cN0 OSCC was appraised. RESULTS A total of 45, 55 and 51 SLNs were examined in 25 (80%), 31 (100%) and 30 (96.5%) of the cases, by using the blue stain, γ-ray probes, and SPECT lymphoscintigraphy, respectively. The average SLNs found in each case of the groups was 1.4 (1 to 3) and there were 1,302 non-NSLNs. Six positive SLN metastases were detected by routine pathological examination, among which 1 case was found to be an accompanied positive metas-tasis of non-SLN. One positive SLN metastasis was found after examination of serial sections plus routine H&E staining and 2 were detected using serial sections plus AE3 immunohistochemical staining methods. No positive NSLNs were found in the study. 10Method for tumor recognition with short dynamic PET images:Theory and simulation study显示文摘A new method was provided in this paper to recognize tumor in PET images automatically and reduce the waiting time of patient.Based on the unsupervised clustering algorithm(ISODATA),this method diagnoses tumor with short dynamic PET images.The theoretical basis of this method is that the metabolic characteristics of different tissues,represented by time-activity curve in the region of interest,are distinctive.The computer program was developed and validated using simulated dynamic PET data with small tumor in lung.Simulation study shows that this method could recognize tumor with the short dynamic PET data in 10 min successfully,and this method was not sensitive to initial cluster center.Huiting Qiao Jing Bai Yingmao Chen Jiahe Tian 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,1:0
11Numerical investigations of the failure mechanism evolution of rock-like disc specimens containing unfilled or filled flaws显示文摘The mechanical responses and ultimate failure patterns of rocks are associated with the failure mechanism evolution.In this study,smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method with the mixed-mode failure model is proposed to probe into failure mechanism evolutions for disc specimens upon loading.The tensile damage model and the Drucker-Prager model are used to calculate the tensile failure and shear failure of the material,respectively.It is concluded that for flaw-unfilled disc specimens,the crack coalescence mechanism in the rock bridge area is affected by the flaw inclination angle and the material property.Considering disc specimens with filled flaws,the incremental rate of tensile damage grows more rapidly when the disc and filling material have a closer ratio of tensile strength to cohesion,which makes the entire specimen response greater brittleness.Furthermore,with the increasing non-uniformity of filling distribution,the incremental rate of tensile-activated damage decreases and the disc specimen performs more ductile.Besides,the influence of the fillings is greater when the flaw inclination angle is approaching 45°.It is proved that the proposed SPH method can be used to simulate the failure mechanism evolution of rocks,which lays a foundation for the study of more complex rock failure.Tian WANG Jian WANG Sheng JIANG Jiahe ZHANG 2023Journal of Zhejiang University-Science A(Applied Physics & Engineering)2023,24,1:0
