1The estimate of sea ice resources quantity in the Bohai Sea based on NOAA/AVHRR data显示文摘The research on sea ice resources is the academic base of sea ice exploitation in the Bohai Sea. According to the ice-water spectrum differences and the correlation between ice thickness and albedo, this paper comes up with a sea ice thickness inversion model based on the NOAA/AVHRR data. And then a sea ice resources quantity (SIQ) time series of Bohai Sea is established from 1987 to 2009. The results indicate that the average error of inversion sea ice thickness is below 30%. The maximum sea ice resources quantity is about 6 × 10 9 m 3 and the minimum is 1.3 × 10 9 m 3 . 3Beyond the 100 Gbaud directly modulated laser for short reach applications显示文摘It is very attractive to apply a directly modulated laser(DML)-based intensity-modulation and direct-detection(IM/DD)system in future data centers and 5G fronthaul networks due to the advantages of low cost,low system complexity,and high energy efficiency,which perfectly match the application scenarios of the data centers and 5G fronthaul networks,in which a large number of high-speed optical interconnections are needed.However,as the data traffic in the data centers and 5G fronthaul networks continues to grow exponentially,the future requirements for data rates beyond 100 Gbaud are challenging the existing DML-based IM/DD system,and the main bottleneck is the modulation bandwidth of the DML.In this paper,the data rate demands and technical standards of the data centers and 5G fronthaul networks are reviewed in detail.With the modulation bandwidth requirements,the technical routes and achievements of recent DMLs are reviewed and discussed.In this way,the prospects,challenges,and future development of DMLs in the applications of future data centers and 5G fronthaul networks are comprehensively explored.Jianou Huang Chao Li Rongguo Lu Lianyan Li Zizheng Cao 2021Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,4:1
4Quantum dot mode-locked frequency comb with ultra-stable 25.5 GHz spacing between 20℃ and 120℃显示文摘Semiconductor mode-locked lasers(MLLs)are promising frequency comb sources for dense wavelength-divisionmultiplexing(DWDM)data communications.Practical data communication requires a frequency-stable comb source in a temperature-varying environment and a minimum tone spacing of 25 GHz to support high-speed DWDM transmissions.To the best of our knowledge,however,to date,there have been no demonstrations of comb sources that simultaneously offer a high repetition rate and stable mode spacing over an ultrawide temperature range.Here,we report a frequency comb source based on a quantum dot(QD)MLL that generates a frequency comb with stable mode spacing over an ultrabroad temperature range of 20–120℃.The two-section passively mode-locked In As QD MLL comb source produces an ultra-stable fundamental repetition rate of 25.5 GHz(corresponding to a 25.5 GHz spacing between adjacent tones in the frequency domain)with a variation of 0.07 GHz in the tone spacing over the tested temperature range.By keeping the saturable absorber reversely biased at-2 V,stable mode-locking over the whole temperature range can be achieved by tuning the current of the gain section only,providing easy control of the device.At an elevated temperature of 100℃,the device shows a 6 d B comb bandwidth of 4.81 nm and 31 tones with>36 d B optical signal-to-noise ratio.The corresponding relative intensity noise,averaged between 0.5 GHz and 10 GHz,is-146 d Bc∕Hz.Our results show the viability of the In As QD MLLs as ultra-stable,uncooled frequency comb sources for low-cost,large-bandwidth,and low-energy-consumption optical data communications.SHUJIE PAN JIANOU HUANG ZICHUAN ZHOU ZHIXIN LIU LALITHA PONNAMPALAMZIZHUO LIU MINGCHU TANG MU-CHIEH LO ZIZHENG CAO KENICHI NISHI KEIZO TAKEMASA MITSURU SUGAWARA RICHARD PENTY IAN WHITE ALWYN SEEDS HUIYUN LIU SIMING CHEN 2020Photonics Research2020,8,12:0
5The research of sea-land breeze (SLB) on the west coast of Bohai Bay based on field observation显示文摘Four automatic meteorological stations were set up in a line from beach to inland perpendicular to the west coast of Bohai Bay. Wind direction and velocity at altitudes of 2 m, 4 m and 12 m were surveyed with 10 minute intervals. On 'Sea-Land Breeze' (SLB) days, the transition from sea breeze to land breeze was very evident in the study area. Direction of sea breeze was basically perpendicular to the coast and mainly from the ENE and E. Duration of sea breeze varied by the stations' distance to the coastline, and the near-coast wind velocity was larger than that of the inland and decreases as it reaches inland. There was increased devel- opment of SLB on sunny days than on overcast days.
