| 1 | Structural pattern of eastern Himalayan syntaxis in Namjagbarwa and its formation process显示文摘The structural pattern of the eastern Himalayan syntaxis in Namjagbarwa consists of two series of structures with different styles. One series compiles the earlier ductile contractional and lateral-slip deformation system, formed by nearly north-south shortening within the syntaxis, left-lateral and right-lateral slipping along its western and eastern boundaries respectively. They were possibly produced by the indentation of the Indian continent into Asian continent after India-Asia collision. The peak deformation-metamorphic ages in these structures are 62-60 Ma, ~23 Ma and ~13 Ma. The other series is composed of ductile-brittle normal faults distributing concentrically and dipping toward the outsides of Namjagbarwa Peak. | 2 | Key residues of the receptor binding motif in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 that interact with ACE2 and neutralizing antibodies显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by the novel human coronavirus SARS-CoV-2,is currently a major threat to public health worldwide.The viral spike protein binds the host receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)via the receptor-binding domain(RBD),and thus is believed to be a major target to block viral entry.Both SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV share this mechanism.Here we functionally analyzed the key amino acid residues located within receptor binding motif of RBD that may interact with human ACE2 and available neutralizing antibodies.The in vivo experiments showed that immunization with either the SARS-CoV RBD or SARS-CoV-2 RBD was able to induce strong clade-specific neutralizing antibodies in mice;however,the cross-neutralizing activity was much weaker,indicating that there are distinct antigenic features in the RBDs of the two viruses.This finding was confirmed with the available neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2.It is worth noting that a newly developed SARS-CoV-2 human antibody,HA001,was able to neutralize SARS-CoV-2,but failed to recognize SARS-CoV.Moreover,the potential epitope residues of HA001 were identified as A475 and F486 in the SARS-CoV-2 RBD,representing new binding sites for neutralizing antibodies.Overall,our study has revealed the presence of different key epitopes between SARS-CoV and SARSCoV-2,which indicates the necessity to develop new prophylactic vaccine and antibody drugs for specific control of the COVID-19 pandemic although the available agents obtained from the SARS-CoV study are unneglectable. | Chunyan Yi Xiaoyu Sun Jing Ye Longfei Ding Meiqin Liu Zhuo Yang Xiao Lu Yaguang Zhang Liyang Ma Wangpeng Gu Aidong Qu Jianqing Xu Zhengli Shi Zhiyang Ling Bing Sun | 2020 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,6: | 13 |
| 3 | Invasion by alligator weed,Alternanthera philoxeroides,is associated with decreased species diversity across the latitudinal gradient in China显示文摘Aims Invasive species occurrence and their effects on biodiversity may vary along latitudes.We examined the occurrence(species cover)and relative dominance(importance value)of invasive alligator weed,Alternanthera philoxeroides,in its terrestrial habitat in China through a large-scale latitudinal field investigation.Methods We established 59 plots along the latitudinal transect from 21°N to 37°N.We recorded species name,abundance,height and individual species coverage of plants in every quadrat.We then measuredα-species diversity variations associated with the A.philoxeroides community across the latitudinal range.We also analyzed the effect of latitude on plant species’distributions in this community by using canonical correspondence analysis(CCA).Important Findings We found that species cover and importance value of A.philoxe-roides increased in areas<35°N,but decreased at higher latitudes.Lower latitudes supported greater species diversity than higher latitudes.Small-scale invasion of A.philoxeroides was associated with higher species diversity,but community diversity was lower when A.philoxeroides species cover exceeded 36%.Community plant species changed from mesophyte to hygrophyte gradually from low to high latitude.Our research suggests that latitude had significant influences on community diversity which interacted with the biotic resistance of a community and impact of invasion.Consequently,A.philoxeroides may become more invasive and have greater negative impacts on community species diversity in higher latitudes as global climate changes. | Hao Wu Juli Carrillo Jianqing Ding | 2016 | Journal of Plant Ecology2016,9,3: | 8 |
| 4 | Discovery of ophiolite in southeast Yunnan,China显示文摘The Babu ophiolite in Malipo County, SE Yunnan, consists of three units: ultramafic, mafic and basaltic rocks. Studies of geological mapping, petrology and geochemistry reveal that the gabbro is similar to that in the Troodos ophiolite, and the diabase and basalt belong to a normal MORB-type,analogous to the Shuanggou ophiolite in west Yunnan. | 5 | Source apportionment of ambient PM_(10) in urban areas of Wuxi,China显示文摘A total of 168 PM_(10)samples were collected during the year of 2005 at eight sites in the city of Wuxi in China.Fifteen chemical elements,three water-soluble ions,total carbon and organic carbon were analyzed.Six source categories were identified and their contributions to ambient PM_(10)in Wuxi were estimated using a nested chemical mass balance method that reduces the effects of colinearity on the chemical mass balance model.In addition,the concentrations of secondary aerosols,such as secondary organic carbon,sulfate and nitrate,were quantified.The spatially averaged PM_(10)was high in the spring and winter(123μg·m^(-3)and low in the summer-fall(90μg·m^(-3)).According to the result of source apportionment,resuspended dust was the largest contributor to ambient PM_(10),accounting for more than 50%of the PM_(10)mass.Coal combustion(14.6%)and vehicle exhaust(9.4%)were also significant source categories of ambient PM_(10).Construction and cement dust,sulfates,secondary organic carbon,and nitrates made contributions ranging between 4.1%and 4.9%.Other source categories such as steel manufacturing dust and soil dust made low contributions to ambient PM_(10). | Bo HAN Xiaohui BI Yonghua XUE Jianhui WU Tan ZHU Baogui ZHANG Jianqing DING Yuanxin DU | 2011 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2011,5,4: | 5 |

| 7 | Direct conversion of mouse astrocytes into neural progenitor cells and specific lineages of neurons显示文摘Background:Cell replacement therapy has been envisioned as a promising treatment for neurodegenerative diseases.Due to the ethical concerns of ESCs-derived neural progenitor cells(NPCs)and tumorigenic potential of iPSCs,reprogramming of somatic cells directly into multipotent NPCs has emerged as a preferred approach for cell transplantation.Methods:Mouse astrocytes were reprogrammed into NPCs by the overexpression of transcription factors(TFs)Foxg1,Sox2,and Brn2.The generation of subtypes of neurons was directed by the force expression of cell-type specific TFs Lhx8 or Foxa2/Lmx1a.Results:Astrocyte-derived induced NPCs(AiNPCs)share high similarities,including the expression of NPC-specific genes,DNA methylation patterns,the ability to proliferate and differentiate,with the wild type NPCs.The AiNPCs are committed to the forebrain identity and predominantly differentiated into glutamatergic and GABAergic neuronal subtypes.Interestingly,additional overexpression of TFs Lhx8 and Foxa2/Lmx1a in AiNPCs promoted cholinergic and dopaminergic neuronal differentiation,respectively.Conclusions:Our studies suggest that astrocytes can be converted into AiNPCs and lineage-committed AiNPCs can acquire differentiation potential of other lineages through forced expression of specific TFs.Understanding the impact of the TF sets on the reprogramming and differentiation into specific lineages of neurons will provide valuable strategies for astrocyte-based cell therapy in neurodegenerative diseases. | Kangmu Ma Xiaobei Deng Xiaohuan Xia Zhaohuan Fan Xinrui Qi Yongxiang Wang Yuju Li Yizhao Ma Qiang Chen Hui Peng Jianqing Ding Chunhong Li Yunlong Huang Changhai Tian Jialin C.Zheng | 2018 | Translational Neurodegeneration2018,7,1: | 2 |
| 8 | Methylation status of DJ-1 in leukocyte DNA of Parkinson’s disease patients显示文摘Background:DJ-1 has been thought as a candidate biomarker for Parkinson’s disease(PD).It was found reduced in PD brains,CSF and saliva,although there were conflicting results.How DJ-1 expression may be regulated is not clear.Recently,blood-based DNA methylation represents a highly promising biomarker for PD by regulating the causative gene expression.Thus,in this study,we try to explore whether blood-based DNA methylation of DJ-1 could be used as a biomarker to differentiate PD patients from normal control(NC),and whether DNA methylation could regulate DJ-1 expression in a SH-SY5Y cell model.Methods:Forty PD patients and 40 NC were recruited in this study.DNA was extracted from peripheral blood leukocytes(PBLs).Methylation status of two CpG islands(CpG1 and CpG2)in promoter region of DJ-1 was explored by bisulfite specific PCR-based sequencing method.Methylation inhibitor 5-Aza-dC was used to treat SH-SY5Y cell line,DJ-1 level was detected in both mRNA and protein level.Results:CpG sites in these two CpG islands(CpG1 and CpG2)of DJ-1 were unmethylated in both PD and NC group.In SH-SY5Y cell model treated by methylation inhibitor,there was no significant change of DJ-1 expression in either mRNA level or protein level.Conclusions:Our results indicated that DNA methylation inhibitor didn’t alter DJ-1 gene expression in SH-SY5Y cell model,and DNA methylation of DJ-1 promoter region in PBLs level might not be an efficient biomarker for PD patients. | Yuyan Tan Li Wu Dunhui Li Xiaoli Liu Jianqing Ding Shengdi Chen | 2016 | Translational Neurodegeneration2016,5,1: | 1 |
| 9 | Molecular Design of Conjugated Small Molecule Nanoparticles for Synergistically Enhanced PTT/PDT显示文摘Simultaneous photothermal therapy(PTT)and photodynamic therapy(PDT)is beneficial for enhanced cancer therapy due to the synergistic effect.Conventional materials developed for synergistic PTT/PDT are generally multicomponent agents that need complicated preparation procedures and be activated by multiple laser sources.The emerging monocomponent diketopyrrolopyrrole(DPP)-based conjugated small molecular agents enable dual PTT/PDT under a single laser irradiation,but suffer from low singlet oxygen quantum yield,which severely restricts the therapeutic efficacy.Herein,we report acceptor-oriented molecular design of a donor-acceptor-donor(D-A-D)conjugated small molecule(IID-ThTPA)-based phototheranostic agent,with isoindigo(IID)as selective acceptor and triphenylamine(TPA)as donor.The strong D-A strength and narrow singlet-triplet energy gap endow IID-ThTPA nanoparticles(IID-ThTPA NPs)high mass extinction coefficient(18.2 L g^-1 cm^-1),competitive photothermal conversion efficiency(35.4%),and a dramatically enhanced singlet oxygen quantum yield(84.0%)comparing with previously reported monocomponent PTT/PDT agents.Such a high PTT/PDT performance of IID-ThTPA NPs achieved superior tumor cooperative eradicating capability in vitro and in vivo. | Wei Shao Chuang Yang Fangyuan Li Jiahe Wu Nan Wang Qiang Ding Jianqing Gao Daishun Ling | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11: | 1 |

| 13 | Upregulation of RIN3 induces endosomal dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Background In Alzheimer’s Disease(AD),about one-third of the risk genes identified by GWAS encode proteins that function predominantly in the endocytic pathways.Among them,the Ras and Rab Interactor 3(RIN3)is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor(GEF)for the Rab5 small GTPase family and has been implicated to be a risk factor for both late onset AD(LOAD)and sporadic early onset AD(sEOAD).However,how RIN3 is linked to AD pathogenesis is currently undefined.Methods Quantitative PCR and immunoblotting were used to measure the RIN3 expression level in mouse brain tissues and cultured basal forebrain cholinergic neuron(BFCNs).Immunostaining was used to define subcellular localization of RIN3 and to visualize endosomal changes in cultured primary BFCNs and PC12 cells.Recombinant flag-tagged RIN3 protein was purified from HEK293T cells and was used to define RIN3-interactomes by mass spectrometry.RIN3-interacting partners were validated by co-immunoprecipitation,immunofluorescence and yeast two hybrid assays.Live imaging of primary neurons was used to examine axonal transport of amyloid precursor protein(APP)andβ-secretase 1(BACE1).Immunoblotting was used to detect protein expression,processing of APP and phosphorylated forms of Tau.Results We have shown that RIN3 mRNA level was significantly increased in the hippocampus and cortex of APP/PS1 mouse brain.Basal forebrain cholinergic neurons(BFCNs)cultured from E18 APP/PS1 mouse embryos also showed increased RIN3 expression accompanied by early endosome enlargement.In addition,via its proline rich domain,RIN3 recruited BIN1(bridging integrator 1)and CD2AP(CD2 associated protein),two other AD risk factors,to early endosomes.Interestingly,overexpression of RIN3 or CD2AP promoted APP cleavage to increase its carboxyl terminal fragments(CTFs)in PC12 cells.Upregulation of RIN3 or the neuronal isoform of BIN1 increased phosphorylated Tau level.Therefore,upregulation of RIN3 expression promoted accumulation of APP CTFs and increased phosphorylated Tau.These effects by RIN3 was rescued by the expression of a dominant negative Rab5(Rab5S34N)construct.Our study has thus pointed to that RIN3 acts through Rab5 to impact endosomal trafficking and signaling.Conclusion RIN3 is significantly upregulated and correlated with endosomal dysfunction in APP/PS1 mouse.Through interacting with BIN1 and CD2AP,increased RIN3 expression alters axonal trafficking and procession of APP.Together with our previous studies,our current work has thus provided important insights into the role of RIN3 in regulating endosomal signaling and trafficking. | Ruinan Shen Xiaobei Zhao Lu He Yongbo Ding Wei Xu Suzhen Lin Savannah Fang Wanlin Yang Kijung Sung Brian Spencer Robert A.Rissman Ming Lei Jianqing Ding Chengbiao Wu | 2020 | Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,2: | 1 |

| 16 | Attitude control of apricot during orientation transmission显示文摘The kinetic characteristics of apricots during orientation transmission were studied to provide a basis for improving the structure of the transmission device.Previous studies have generally focused on the development of orientation devices,but few studies have been conducted to analyze the mechanisms of orientation.In order to study the attitude control in the orientation mechanisms,an orthogonal combination test was performed and a rigid kinetic model for a monosymmetric apricot was developed based on Euler’s kinetic equations with the modified Rodrigue parameters(MRPs).Kinetic simulation and analysis based upon the attitude control law were conducted and an attitude control simulation platform was created.The simulation results showed that the orientation transmission system for monosymmetric apricots was globally convergent and tended to stable.The experimental torques also affected the orientation success rates.The calculated average experimental torque value(0.164 N·m)was consistent with the maximum control torque value(0.16478 N·m)when the system was in a stable state in Simulink.The consistency between the simulation result and the calculated control torque validates the correctness of the designed control torques. | Ding Xiangyan Wang Chunyao Huang Chunyang Luo Jianqing | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,5: | 1 |
