1Diagnostic performance of contrast-enhanced ultrasound and enhanced magnetic resonance for breast nodules显示文摘In the current study, we sought to evaluate the diagnostic efficacies of conventional ultrasound(US), contrastenhanced US(CEUS), combined US and CEUS and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) in detecting focal solid breast lesions. Totally 117 patients with 120 BI-RADS category 4A-5 breast lesions were evaluated by conventional US and CEUS, and MRI, respectively. SonoVue was used as contrast agent in CEUS and injected as an intravenous bolus; nodule scan was performed 4 minutes after bolus injection. A specific sonographic quantification software was used to obtain color-coded maps of perfusion parameters for the investigated lesion, namely the time-intensity curve.The pattern of contrast enhancement and related indexes regarding the time-intensity curve were used to describe the lesions, comparatively with pathological results. Histopathologic examination revealed 46 benign and 74 malignant lesions. Sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of US in detecting malignant breast lesions were 90.14%, 95.92%, and 92.52%, respectively. Meanwhile, CE-MRI showed sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of 88.73%, 95.92%, and91.67%, respectively. The area under the ROC curve for combined US and CEUS in discriminating benign from malignant breast lesions was 0.936, while that of MRI was 0.923, with no significant difference between them, as well as among groups. The time-intensity curve of malignant hypervascular fibroadenoma and papillary lesions mostly showed a fast-in/fast-out pattern, with no good correlation between them(kappa <0.20). 3Seismites in the Dasheng Group: New evidence of strong tectonic and earthquake activities of the Tanlu Fault Zone显示文摘More than 80 layers of seismites were recognized from the Early Cretaceous Dasheng Group in the Mazhan and Tancheng graben basins in the Tanlu Fault Zone, eastern China. The responsible seismic events took place about 110–100 Ma in the Early Cretaceous. The fault zone was affected at the time by strong tectonics, due to tension-related stretching and scattered squeezing by strike-slip faults. These tectonic activities induced a series of strong earthquakes with Richter magnitudes(M) of 5–8.5. The earthquakes affected saturated or semi-consolidated flood and lake sediments, and produced intra-layer deformations by several processes, including liquefaction, thixotropy, drop, faulting, cracking, filling and folding, which resulted in the formation of various soft-sediment deformation structures, such as dikes and veins of liquefied sand, liquefied breccias, liquefied homogeneous layers, load structures, flame structures, ball-and-pillow structures, boudinage, diapirs, fissure infillings, a giant conglomerate wedge, and syn-sedimentary faults. 5Effect of traditional Chinese medicine compounds on rumen fermentation, methanogenesis and microbial flora in vitro显示文摘This study was conducted to investigate the effects of traditional Chinese medicine compounds(TCMC)on rumen fermentation, methane emission and populations of ruminal microbes using an in vitro gas production technique. Cablin patchouli herb(CPH), Atractylodes rhizome(AR), Amur Cork-tree(AC) and Cypsum were mixed with the weight ratios of 1:1:1:0.5 and 1:1:1:1 to make up TCMC1 and TCMC2,respectively. Both TCMC were added at level of 25 g/kg of substrate dry matter. In vitro gas production was recorded and methane concentration was determined at 12 and 24 h of incubation. After 24 h, the incubation was terminated and the inoculants were measured for pH, ammonia nitrogen, volatile fatty acids(VFA). Total deoxyribonucleic acid of ruminal microbes was extracted from the inocula, and populations were determined by a real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Populations of total rumen methanogens, protozoa, total fungi, Ruminococcus albus, Fibrobacter succinogenes and Ruminococcus flavefaciens were expressed as a proportion of total rumen bacterial 16 S ribosomal deoxyribonucleic acid. Compared with the control, the 2 TCMC decreased(P < 0.05) total VFA concentration,acetate molar proportion, acetate to propionate ratio, gas and methane productions at 12 and 24 h,hydrogen(H) produced and consumed, and methanogens and total fungi populations, while the 2 TCMC increased(P < 0.05) propionate molar proportion. Traditional Chinese medicine compound 1 also decreased(P ≤ 0.05) R. flavefaciens population. From the present study, it is inferred that there is an effect of the TCMC in suppressing methanogenesis, probably mediated via indirect mode by channeling H2 utilized for methanogenesis to synthesis of propionate and direct action against the rumen microbes involved in methane formation. 7Metabolomics through the lens of precision cardiovascular medicine显示文摘Metabolomics, which targets at the extensive characterization and quantitation of global metabolites from both endogenous and exogenous sources, has emerged as a novel technological avenue to advance the field of precision medicine principally driven by genomics-oriented approaches. In particular,metabolomics has revealed the cardinal roles that the environment exerts in driving the progression of major diseases threatening public health. Herein, the existent and potential applications of metabolomics in two key areas of precision cardiovascular medicine will be critically discussed: 1) the use of metabolomics in unveiling novel disease biomarkers and pathological pathways; 2) the contribution of metabolomics in cardiovascular drug development. Major issues concerning the statistical handling of big data generated by metabolomics, as well as its interpretation, will be briefly addressed. 9Comprehensive lipidomics in apoM^(-/-) mice reveals an overall state of metabolic distress and attenuated hepatic lipid secretion into the circulation显示文摘Apolipoprotein M(apoM) participates in both high-density lipoprotein and cholesterol metabolism. Little is known about how apo M affects lipid composition of the liver and serum. In this study, we systemically investigated the effects of apo M on liver and plasma lipidomes and how apo M participates in lipid cycling, via apo M knockout in mice and the human SMMC-7721 cell line. We used integrated mass spectrometry-based lipidomics approaches to semiquantify more than 600 lipid species from various lipid classes, which include free fatty acids, glycerolipids, phospholipids, sphingolipids, glycosphingolipids, cholesterol, and cholesteryl esters(CEs), in apo M^(-/-)mouse. Hepatic accumulation of neutral lipids, including CEs, triacylglycerols, and diacylglycerols, was observed in apo M^(-/-)mice;while serum lipidomic analyses showed that, in contrast to the liver, the overall levels of CEs and saturated/monounsaturated fatty acids were markedly diminished. Furthermore, the level of Apo B-100 was dramatically increased in the liver, whereas significant reductions in both Apo B-100 and low-density lipoprotein(LDL) cholesterol were observed in the serum of apo M^(-/-)mice, which indicated attenuated hepatic LDL secretion into the circulation. Lipid profiles and proinflammatory cytokine levels indicated that apo M^(-/-)leads to hepatic steatosis and an overall state of metabolic distress. 10Configuration of nucleolar DNA in situ in nucleolus of Allium cepa cells显示文摘The location and configuration of nucleolar DNA have not been determined for a long time. In this paper, we have observed the nucleolar infrastructure and the character of nucleolar DNA in Allium cepa cells by conventional electron microscopy and the cytochemical NAMA-Ur DNA specific staining method. Furthermore, we have properly improved the NAMA-Ur method so as to analyze the location and configuration of nucleolar DNA in situ. 14Preparation, Structure and Performances of Cross-Linked Regenerated Cellulose Fibers显示文摘Cross-linked regenerated cellulose fibers(CRCFs) were prepared by wet spinning firstly and then treated by high temperature curing. Cellulose dissolved in ionic liquid together with wrinkle proofing agent and cross-linking agent was employed as spinning solution. The properties and structure of CRCFs were investigated. Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis show that CRCFs were prepared successfully and the crystal form of the fibers remained the same before and after cross-linking.
