| 1 | Development and molecular analysis of a novel acetohydroxyacid synthase rapeseed mutant with high resistance to sulfonylurea herbicides显示文摘With the increasing promotion of simplified rapeseed cultivation in recent years,the development of cultivars with high resistance to herbicides is urgently needed.We previously developed M342,which shows sulfonylurea herbicide resistance,by targeting acetohydroxyacid synthase(AHAS),a key enzyme in branched-chain amino acid synthesis.In the present study,we used a progeny line derived from M342 for an additional round of ethyl methane sulfonate mutagenesis,yielding the novel mutant DS3,which harbored two mutations in AHAS genes and showed high sulfonylurea resistance.One mutation was the substitution Trp574 Leu,as in M342,according to Arabidopsis protein sequencing.The other site was a newly recognized substitution,Pro197 Leu.A KASP marker targeting Pro197 Leu was developed and reliably predicted the response to sulfonylurea herbicides in the F2 population.The combination of Trp574 Leu and Pro197 Leu in DS3 produced a synergistic effect that greatly increased herbicide resistance.Analysis of the protein structures of AHAS1 and AHAS3 in wild-type and single-gene mutant plants revealed three-dimensional protein conformational changes that could account for differences in herbicide resistance characteristics including toxicity tolerance,AHAS enzyme activity,and AHAS gene expression. | Yue Guo Changle Liu Weihua Long Jianqin Gao Jiefu Zhang Song Chen Huiming Pu Maolong Hu | 2022 | The Crop Journal2022,10,1: | 3 |

| 5 | Prediction of Mechanical Properties of Structural Bamboo and Its Relationship with Growth Parameters显示文摘Bamboo is a renewable natural building material with good mechanical properties.However,due to the heterogeneity and anisotropy of bamboo stalk,a large amount of material performance testing costs are required in engineering applications.In this work,longitudinal compression,bending,longitudinal shear,longitudinal tensile,transverse compression and transverse tensile tests of bamboo materials are conducted,considering the influence of the bamboo nodes.The mechanical properties of the whole bamboo stalk with the wall thickness and outer circumference are explored.Through univariate and multiple regression analysis,the relationship between mechanical properties and wall thickness and perimeter is fitted,and the conversion parameters between different mechanical properties are derived.The research results show that the transverse compressive strength of nodal specimen,and transverse tensile strength of nodal and inter-node specimens increase with the increase of wall thickness and outer circumference,but other mechanical properties decrease with the increase of wall thickness and outer circumference.The prediction formula and conversion parameters of bamboo mechanical properties proposed in this research have high applicability and accuracy.Moreover,this research can provide references for the evaluation of bamboo performance and saving test costs. | Pengcheng Liu Ping Xiang Qishi Zhou Hai Zhang Jiefu Tian Misganu Demis Argaw | 2021 | Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,12: | 1 |

| 10 | Indoor Propagation of Transgenic Glyphosate-tolerant Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) and Transfer Breeding for Herbicide Tolerance显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to investigate the possibility of screening for herbicide resistance in the early stage of rapes growth. [Methods] Eight treatments were set for a herbicide concentration experiment. [Results] Rape sprouts were highly sensitive to the herbicide glyphosate, and even a very low concentration of glyphosate solution(187 mg/L) was sufficient to kill most of the rape seedlings, while the genetically modified herbicide-tolerant rape could tolerate higher concentrations of the herbicide. Low concentrations of glyphosate could be used for screening at the sprout stage, and the results of herbicide-tolerance screening were consistent with PCR testing.
