1Design and baseline data of a populationbased metabonomics study of eye diseases in eastern China: the Yueqing Ocular Diseases Investigation显示文摘Background:China is undergoing a massive transition toward an urban and industrial economy.These changes will restructure the demographics and economy which will eventually influence the future patterns of disease.The risk factors of vision-impairing eye diseases remain ambiguous and poorly understood.Metabolomics is an ideal tool to understand and shed light on the ocular disease mechanisms for earlier treatment.This article aims to describe the design,methodology and baseline data of the Yueqing Ocular Diseases Investigation(YODI),a developed county population-based study to determine the prevalence and primary causes of visual impairment;also with metabonomics analysis we aimed to identify,predict and suggest some preventive biomarkers that cause blindness.Methods:A population-based,cross-sectional study.Randomized clustering sampling was used to identify adults aged 50 years and older in Xiangyang Town,Yueqing county-level City.The interviews covered demographic,behavioral,ocular risk factors and mental health state.The ocular examination included visual acuity,autorefraction,intraocular pressure,anterior and posterior segment examinations,fundus photography,retinal tomography and angiography,and visual field testing.Anthropometric measurements included height and weight,waist and hip circumference,blood pressure,pulse rate,electrocardiogram,and abdominal ultrasound scan.A venous blood sample was collected for laboratory tests and metabonomics studies.Results:Of the 5319 individuals recruited for the YODI,4769(89.7%)subjects were enrolled for analyses.The median age was 62.0 years,and 45.6%were male.The educational level of illiteracy or semi-illiteracy,primary,middle and high school or above was 29.8%,45.5%,20.1%,and 3.3%,respectively.Majority of the participants were female,younger,and less educated when compared with nonparticipants.The average body mass index and waist-hip ratios were 24.4±3.4 kg/m^(2) and 0.9±0.1 respectively.Blood sample collection reached a sample size of 1909(479 from subjects with selfreported diabetes and 1430 from one-third of the 4290 subjects without self-reported diabetes).Conclusions:The YODI provides population-based data with a high response rate(89.7%)on the prevalence and primary causes of major vision-impairing eye diseases in developed county areas in eastern China.Metabonomics analysis from YODI will provide further association of metabolic characteristics with the visual impairment eye diseases.The risk prediction model could be created and has the potential to be generalized to developed eastern areas in China for prevention.Yuxuan Deng Yuanbo Liang Sigeng Lin Liang Wen Jin Li Yue Zhou Meixiao Shen Jingwei Zheng Kemi Feng Yanting Sun Kwapong Willaim Robert Jia Qu Fan Lu 2020Eye and Vision2020,7,1:4
2Black phosphorus-based van der Waals heterostructures for mid-infrared light-emission applications显示文摘Mid-infrared(MIR)light-emitting devices play a key role in optical communications,thermal imaging,and material analysis applications.Two-dimensional(2D)materials offer a promising direction for next-generation MIR devices owing to their exotic optical properties,as well as the ultimate thickness limit.More importantly,van der Waals heterostructures-combining the best of various 2D materials at an artificial atomic level-provide many new possibilities for constructing MIR light-emitting devices of large tuneability and high integration.Here,we introduce a simple but novel van der Waals heterostructure for MIR light-emission applications built from thin-film BP and transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs),in which BP acts as an MIR light-emission layer.For BP–WSe_(2) heterostructures,an enhancement of~200% in the photoluminescence intensities in the MIR region is observed,demonstrating highly efficient energy transfer in this heterostructure with type-Ⅰ band alignment.For BP-MoS_(2) heterostructures,a room temperature MIR light-emitting diode(LED)is enabled through the formation of a vertical PN heterojunction at the interface.Our work reveals that the BP-TMDC heterostructure with efficient light emission in the MIR range,either optically or electrically activated,provides a promising platform for infrared light property studies and applications.Xinrong Zong Huamin Hu Gang Ouyang Jingwei Wang Run Shi Le Zhang Qingsheng Zeng Chao Zhu Shouheng Chen Chun Cheng Bing Wang Han Zhang Zheng Liu Wei Huang Taihong Wang Lin Wang Xiaolong Chen 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:3
3Distributionally Robust Co-optimization of Transmission Network Expansion Planning and Penetration Level of Renewable Generation显示文摘Transmission network expansion can significantly improve the penetration level of renewable generation.However,existing studies have not explicitly revealed and quantified the trade-off between the investment cost and penetration level of renewable generation.This paper proposes a distributionally robust optimization model to minimize the cost of transmission network expansion under uncertainty and maximize the penetration level of renewable generation.The proposed model includes distributionally robust joint chance constraints,which maximize the minimum expectation of the renewable utilization probability among a set of certain probability distributions within an ambiguity set.The proposed formulation yields a twostage robust optimization model with variable bounds of the uncertain sets,which is hard to solve.By applying the affine decision rule,second-order conic reformulation,and duality,we reformulate it into a single-stage standard robust optimization model and solve it efficiently via commercial solvers.Case studies are carried on the Garver 6-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.Jingwei Hu Xiaoyuan Xu Hongyan Ma Zheng Yan 2022Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2022,10,3:2
4Risk stratification in symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic disease with conventional vascular risk factors and cerebral haemodynamics显示文摘Background and purpose Symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(sICAS)is associated with a considerable risk of recurrent stroke despite contemporarily optimal medical treatment.Severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS and its haemodynamic significance quantified with computational fluid dynamics(CFD)models were associated with the risk of stroke recurrence.We aimed to develop and compare stroke risk prediction nomograms in sICAS,based on vascular risk factors and these metrics.Methods Patients with 50%-99%sICAS confirmed in CT angiography(CTA)were enrolled.Conventional vascular risk factors were collected.Severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS was dichotomised as moderate(50%-69%)and severe(70%-99%).Translesional pressure ratio(PR)and wall shear stress ratio(WSSR)were quantified via CTA-based CFD modelling;the haemodynamic status of sICAS was classified as normal(normal PR&WSSR),intermediate(otherwise)and abnormal(abnormal PR&WSSR).All patients received guideline-recommended medical treatment.We developed and compared performance of nomograms composed of these variables and independent predictors identified in multivariate logistic regression,in predicting the primary outcome,recurrent ischaemic stroke in the same territory(SIT)within 1 year.Results Among 245 sICAS patients,20(8.2%)had SIT.The D2H2A nomogram,incorporating diabetes,dyslipidaemia,haemodynamic status of sICAS,hypertension and age≥50 years,showed good calibration(P for Hosmer-Lemeshow test=0.560)and discrimination(C-statistic 0.73,95%CI 0.60 to 0.85).It also had better performance in risk reclassification and provided larger net benefits in decision curve analysis,compared with nomograms composed of conventional vascular risk factors only,and plus the severity of luminal stenosis in sICAS.Sensitivity analysis in patients with anterior-circulation sICAS showed similar results.Conclusions The D2H2A nomogram,incorporating conventional vascular risk factors and the haemodynamic significance of sICAS as assessed in CFD models,could be a useful tool to stratify sICAS patients for the risk of recurrent stroke under contemporarily optimal medical treatment.Xuan Tian Hui Fang Linfang Lan Hing Lung Ip Jill Abrigo Haipeng Liu Lina Zheng Florence S Y Fan Sze Ho Ma Bonaventure Ip Bo Song Yuming Xu Jingwei Li Bing Zhang Yun Xu Yannie O Y Soo Vincent Mok Ka Sing Wong Thomas W Leung Xinyi Leng 2023Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023,8,1:2
5A versatile ligand-assisted cooperative template method to synthesize multi-shelled mesoporous hollow metal hydroxide and oxide nanospheres as catalytic reactors显示文摘Nowadays,multi-shelled mesoporous hollow metal oxide nanospheres have drawn a lot of attention due to their large internal space,nanometer scaled shell thickness,high specific surface area and well-defined mesopores,of which unique nanostructure endows metallic oxides with enhanced properties.In this thesis,we have studied and proposed a versatile ligand-assisted cooperative template method to synthesize multi-shelled mesoporous hollow metal hydroxides and oxides nanospheres,in which silica nanospheres act as sacrificial templates and the coordination interaction between metal ions and surfactant can be cooperatively amplified by using chelating ligand(ascorbic acid)as a co-template.The synthesized metal hydroxides and oxides nanospheres possess stable hollow structure,uniform spherical morphology and tunable diameter from 270 to 690 nm.All the multi-shelled mesoporous hollow metal hydroxide and metal oxide nanospheres exhibit high surface areas(up to 640 m^(2)/g).The obtained Au nanoparticles loaded composited nanospheres exhibit excellent reactivity for solvent-free aerobic oxidation of ethylbenzene with high activity(28.2%)and selectivity(87%).Jingwei Liu Yali Ma Liangliang Zhang Yuenan Zheng Rui Zhang Ling Zhang Feng Wei Zhen-An Qiao 2021Nano Research2021,14,9:2

8Effect of plum-blossom needling versus tropicamide eye drops on adolescent myopia: protocol for a randomized crossover trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: Myopia is the most common eye problem and affects an estimated 28.3% of the global population. Its incidence is increasing annually. Myopia treatment is limited to correcting visual acuity.Acupuncture is one of the main therapies in traditional Chinese medicine and includes plum-blossom needling, which has been widely used forboth the prevention and treatment of adolescent myopia. We hypothesized that plum-blossom needling would be effective in treating myopia compared with a tropicamide eye drops control.METHODS: This is a crossover randomized controlled trial involving adolescents with myopia. Participants will be randomized 1∶1 to plum-blossom needle or tropicamide eye drops arms. Subjects in each arm will be treated for 20 d, followed by a 1-month washout period and treatment change for another 20 d. The primary outcome is uncorrected distance and cycloplegic refractive errors. The secondary outcomes comprise corneal curvature, lens thickness, axial length, ciliary body thickness, accommodation amplitude, the NRA/PRA(negative/positive relative accommodation), flexible adjustment, and near point of convergence. 14Repeated laparoscopic liver resection using ICG fluorescent imaging for recurrent liver cancer显示文摘Objective:Liver cancer is very common in China,with cumulative five-year tumor recurrence rate after a microscopically margin-negative resection of hepatocellular carcinoma up to 70%.Postoperative recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma presents a challenge for surgeons because of the complexity of postoperative adhesion and the difficulty in of recognizing recurrent lesions.This study aims to introduce a method using an indocyanine green(ICG)fluorescent imaging technique to do repeated laparoscopic liver resection.Method:Patients received repeated laparoscopic liver resection using ICG fluorescent imaging between January 2017 and December 2019 in the Department of General Surgery of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital were analyzed retrospectively.Basic information,intraoperative information,complications,and followup time were collected and analyzed.Results:Totally,35 patients with a median age of 59 years(ranged 38-82 years)were included.All of the patients received minimally invasive surgery.One case was performed robotically,and only two cases were converted to open surgery due to severe adhesion.The median operating time was 174 minutes,and the median blood loss during surgery was 100 mL.The median hospital stay after surgery was 5 days,with a range of 3e55 days.In total,32(91.4%)patients showed staining by ICG fluorescent imaging,and lesions were visible on fluorescent camera.The median follow-up time was 19.7 months,with a range of 1e40.2 months.The median relapse-free survival time was 18.5 months.Conclusion:Repeated laparoscopic liver resection using ICG fluorescent imaging is a safe and promising approach in the treatment of recurrent liver tumors in selected patients.Zheyong Li Jingwei Cai Junhao Zheng Xiao Liang 2022Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery2022,5,1:0

17Inertia Market:Mechanism Design and Its Impact on Generation Mix显示文摘Increasing penetration of renewable energy generation poses a challenge to power system inertia adequacy.It is vital to provide long-term incentive signals to induce a generation mix with adequate inertia supply.However,existing literature rarely studies inertia incentive mechanisms or considers inertia constraints when making generation investment decisions.Thus,we propose an inertia market to quantify the value of inertia and to remunerate inertia provision.To examine the impacts of the inertia market on generation mix,we then propose a stochastic bilevel generation investment equilibrium model that depicts a multi-leader and multi-follower Stackelberg game.The lower level of the model considers the proposed inertia market,along with the energy,reserve,and capacity markets.The upper level considers multiple profit-maximizing strategic producers,and each producer is able to build gas-fired generators,wind generators,and energy storages.Numerical experiments demonstrate that a generation mix with adequate inertia supply can be induced with the proposed inertia market whereas there can be inertia shortage without the inertia market.Interestingly,considering carbon taxes,it is more cost-competitive to invest in wind resources with virtual inertia facilities than to substitute wind resources by thermal generators.Correspondingly,the introduction of an inertia market does not significantly reduce wind generation shares but boosts virtual inertia facility penetration.Our findings imply a future power system powered by fully decarbonized power resources with adequate inertia.Jingwei Hu Zheng Yan Xiaoyuan Xu Sijie Chen 2023Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2023,11,3:0

20Efficacy of Ganshuang granules(肝爽颗粒)on non-alcoholic fatty liver and underlying mechanism:a network pharmacology and experimental verification显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the potential pharmacological mechanisms of Ganshuang granules(肝爽颗粒,GSG)in treating non-alcoholic fatty liver(NAFLD).METHODS:All the active components and targets of GSG were retrieved from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform.Protein-Protein interaction network,Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes and Gene Ontology function annotation of common targets were analyzed to predict the mechanisms of action of GSG in the treatment of NAFLD.Then,the mouse models of NAFLD were constructed in a diet-induced manner and treated with GSG.The levels of interleukin 6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/AKT)pathway-related proteins in the liver of mice in each group were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and Western blot,respectively.RESULTS:Network pharmacology revealed a total of 159 potential targets of GSG for the treatment of NAFLD.Functional enrichment analysis indicated that the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway may be involved during GSG treatment of NAFLD.Further experiments showed that the significantly decreased alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,alkaline phosphatase,total cholesterol,triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in NAFLD model mice serum after GSG treatment,as well as the expression levels of IL-6 and TNF-αin the liver.Furthermore,drug intervention increased the protein expression levels of phosphorylated-PI3K(P-PI3K)and P-AKT in the liver of the model group mice,and decreased the protein expression level of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1.CONCLUSION:We found that GSG is effective in treating NAFLD and the potential therapeutic targets may be involved in PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.ZHI Guoguo SHAO Bingjie ZHENG Tianyan JI Shaoxiu LI Jingwei DANG Yanni LIU Feng WANG Dong 2024Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2024,44,1:0
