| 1 | Screening for gastric cancer in China:Advances,challenges and visions显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the major cancers in China and all over the world.Most GCs are diagnosed at an advanced stage with unfavorable prognosis.Along with some other countries,China has developed the government-funded national screening programs for GC and other major cancers.GC screening has been shown to effectively decrease the incidence of and mortality from GC in countries adopting nationwide screening programs(Japan and Korea)and in studies based on selected Chinese populations.The screening of GC relies mostly on gastroendoscopy,the accuracy,reliability and safety of which have been indicated by previous studies.However,considering its invasive screening approach,requirements on skilled endoscopists and pathologists,and a high cost,developing noninvasive methods to amend endoscopic screening would be highly needed.Numerous studies have examined biomarkers for GC screening and the combination of biomarkers involving pepsinogen,gastrin,and Helicobacter pylori antibodies has been proposed for risk stratification,seeking to narrow down the high-risk populations for further endoscopy.Despite all the achievements of endoscopic screening,evidence on appropriate screening age,intervals for repeated screening,novel biomarkers promoting precision prevention,and health economics need to be accumulated to inform policymakers on endoscopic screening in China.With the guide of Health China 2030 Planning Outline,we have golden opportunities to promote prevention and control of GC.In this review,we summarize the characteristics of screening programs in China and other East Asian countries and introduce the past and current approaches and strategies for GC screening,aiming for featuring the latest advances and key challenges,and illustrating future visions of GC screening. | Xiaohan Fan Xiangxiang Qin Yang Zhang Zhexuan Li Tong Zhou Jingying Zhang Weicheng You Wenqing Li Kaifeng Pan | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2: | 21 |
| 2 | Cell cycle-related kinase reprograms the liver immune microenvironment to promote cancer metastasis显示文摘The liver is an immunologically tolerant organ and a common metastatic site of multiple cancer types.Although a role for cancer cell invasion programs has been well characterized,whether and how liver-intrinsic factors drive metastatic spread is incompletely understood.Here,we show that aberrantly activated hepatocyte-intrinsic cell cycle-related kinase(CCRK)signaling in chronic liver diseases is critical for cancer metastasis by reprogramming an immunosuppressive microenvironment.Using an inducible liverspecific transgenic model,we found that CCRK overexpression dramatically increased both B16F10 melanoma and MC38 colorectal cancer(CRC)metastasis to the liver,which was highly infiltrated by polymorphonuclear-myeloid-derived suppressor cells(PMNMDSCs)and lacking natural killer T(NKT)cells.Depletion of PMN-MDSCs in CCRK transgenic mice restored NKT cell levels and their interferon gamma production and reduced liver metastasis to 2.7% and 0.7%(metastatic tumor weights)in the melanoma and CRC models,respectively.Mechanistically,CCRK activated nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling to increase the PMN-MDSC trafficking chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 1(CXCL1),which was positively correlated with liver-infiltrating PMN-MDSC levels in CCRK transgenic mice.Accordingly,CRC liver metastasis patients exhibited hyperaaivation of hepatic CCRK/NF-κB/CXCL1 signaling,which was associated with accumulation of PMN-MDSCs and paucity of NKT cells compared to healthy liver transplantation donors.In summary,this study demonstrates that immunosuppressive reprogramming by hepatic CCRK signaling undermines antimetastatic immunosurveillance.Our findings offer new mechanistic insights and therapeutic targets for liver metastasis intervention. | Xuezhen Zeng Jingying Zhou Zhewen Xiong Hanyong Sun Weiqin Yang Myth T.S.Mok Jing Wang Jingqing Li Man Liu Wenshu Tang Yu Feng Hector Kwong-Sang W ang Shun-Wa Tsang King-Lau Chow Philip Chun Yeung John Wong Paul Bo-San Lai Anthony Wing-Hung Chan Ka Fai To Stephen Lam Chan Qiang Xia Jing Xue Xiao Chen Jun Yu Sui Peng Joseph Jao-Yiu Sung Ming Kuang Alfred Sze-Lok Cheng | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,4: | 5 |

| 5 | Formation and emission characteristics of VOCs from a coal-fired power plant显示文摘On-site measurements of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in different streams of flue gas were carried out on a real coal-fired power plant using sampling bags and SUMMA canisters to collect gas samples,filters to collect particle samples.Gas chromatography-flame ionization detector/mass spectrometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was the offline analysis method.We found that the total mass concentration of the tested 102 VOC species at the outlet of wet flue gas desulfuration device was(13456±47)μg·m^(-3),which contained aliphatic hydrocarbons(57.9%),aromatic hydrocarbons(26.8%),halogen-containing species(14.5%),and a small amount of oxygen-containing and nitrogencontaining species.The most abundant species were 1-hexene,n-hexane and 2-methylpentane.The top ten species in terms of mass fraction(with a total mass fraction of 75.3%)were mainly hydrocarbons with a carbon number of 6 or higher and halogenated hydrocarbons with a lower carbon number.The mass concentration of VOC species in the particle phase was significantly lower than that in the gas phase.The change of VOC mass concentrations along the air pollution control devices indicates that conventional pollutant control equipment had a limited effect on VOC reduction.Ozone formation potential calculations showed that aromatic hydrocarbons contributed the highest ozone formation(46.4%)due to their relatively high mass concentrations and MIR(maximum increment reactivity)values. | Jingying Xu Yue Lyu Jiankun Zhuo Yishu Xu Zijian Zhou Qiang Yao | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,7: | 2 |

The newly proposed expression always gives results in fairly good agreement with experimental values over entire temperature range between the fusion temperature Tm and the glass transition temperature Tg of Pd40Ni40P20, Pd40Cu30Ni10P20 and Pd43Cu27Ni10P20, which possess different heat capacities. However, the TS and KN expressions cannot always provide results in good agreement with the experimental values. | 11 | Associations between LMO1 gene polymorphisms and central nervous system tumor susceptibility显示文摘Importance:LIM domain only 1(LMO1)gene polymorphisms were previously found to be implicated in the risk of several cancers.No available studies were performed regarding the predisposing effect of LMO1 gene single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)on central nervous system(CNS)tumor risk.Objective:We aimed to determine whether the LMO1 gene SNPs were associated with the risk of CNS tumor by applying a case-control study with 191 cases and 248 controls in China.Methods:The contributions of LMO1 gene SNPs to the risk of CNS tumor was evaluated by multinomial logistic regression.Results:Based on the calculations of odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI),we failed to detect a significant relationship between each LMO1 gene SNP(rs110419 A>G,rs4758051 G>A,rs10840002 A>G,rs204938 A>G,and rs2168101 G>T)and CNS tumor risk,respectively.A negative association was also found in the combined effects on these five SNPs and CNS tumor risk.The stratification analysis further demonstrated the individuals with rs204938 AG/GG genotype confer to increased risk of CNS tumor compared with those with an AA genotype in males(OR:1.74,95%CI:1.01-2.98,P=0.046).Interpretation:We concluded that LMO1 gene SNPs may not strong enough to influence the risk of CNS tumor in Chinese children.More studies are required to verify this association. | Huiran Lin Huitong Chen Ao Lin Xiaoping Liu Xiaokai Huang Jingying Zhou Li Yuan Zhenjian Zhuo | 2021 | Pediatric Investigation2021,5,4: | 0 |
| 12 | Characterization of precipitation in the background of atmospheric pollutants reduction in Guilin: Temporal variation and source apportionment显示文摘Rainfall samples were collected from three observation sites in Guilin from 2013 to 2017, and the chemical composition characteristics of precipitation and the contribution made by different ion sources were analyzed when atmospheric pollutants levels were reduced. The results showed that acid gas emissions and atmospheric pollutant concentrations continued to decline during the study period. However, the change in the volume-weighted mean p H at the three sites suggested that acid rain pollution was not alleviated and began to deteriorate after 2015. The continuing downward trend for alkaline neutralizing ions(Ca^(2+), NH_4^+) in precipitation indicated that the reduction in alkaline neutralizing substances in the atmosphere was an important factor that led to the deterioration in acid rain across Guilin. The principal component analysis and spearman correlation analysis indicated five sources of ions in precipitation. Quantitative assessment of these five sources indicated that fossil fuel combustion contributed the most ions concentration in precipitation at the three sites, followed by agriculture, terrestrial(crustal) sources, marine sources, and biomass burning. Long-distance airflow might affect the acidity, the electrical conductivity(EC), and ion concentrations in precipitation across Guilin. The airflow trajectory from the west and southeast directions corresponded to higher acidity and ion concentrations. According to the current air pollution control strategy planned by Guilin, reducing atmospheric coarse particles and NH_3 at the same time may potentially lead to further deteriorations in acid rain contents. However, due to the severe aviation environment, the strength, corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity of magnesium alloy materials need to be further improved. Many scholars are committed to studying higher comprehensive mechanical properties. Besides, they have studied surface treatment processes with space application characteristics, such as high emissivity oxidation and high anti-corrosion electroplating. To further improve the safety and reliability of magnesium alloys and expand their applications, this paper discusses several kinds of magnesium alloys and summarizes their research progress. The whole manuscript should be revised by an expert who has more experience on English writing. At the same time, the surface treatments of magnesium alloy materials for aerospace are analyzed. Besides, the application of magnesium alloy in aerospace field is summarized. | 14 | CFD Study on Hemodynamic Characteristics of Inferior Vena Cava Filter Affected by Blood Vessel Diameter显示文摘Pulmonary embolism(PE),caused by deep venous thrombosis(DVT),is a disease with high morbidity and mor-tality.Implantation of inferior vena cavafilters is an important method for the clinical prevention of PE.The hemodynamic characteristics offilters implanted in the inferior vena cava(IVC)have a significant impact on their performance.However,IVC diameters vary among patients.This may have a direct impact on the hemodynamic properties of thefilter.At present,there is no research on this kind of problem to be investigated.In this paper,the hemodynamic properties of the VenaTech convertiblefilter were simulated in three different IVC models of 15,20 and 25 mm diameters,using computationalfluid dynamics(CFD)as a control variable(only the IVC dia-meter is varied).The results showed that the diameter has a significant impact on the hemodynamic character-istics afterfilter implantation.The IVC diameter has a great influence on the stagnation zone of the bloodflow,the maximum wall shear stress(WSS)on the upstream side along thefilter wire,and theflow resistance.The case of 15 mm diameter was the most prone to thrombus formation downstream of thefilter head in the IVC,but the larger WSS on the upstream along thefilter wire may facilitate thrombus lysis.Therefore,the change in vessel diameter should be considered when performingfilter implantation for patients. | Shiyue Zhang Xue Song Jingying Wang Wen Huang Yue Zhou Mingrui Li | 2023 | Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics2023,20,2: | 0 |
