| 1 | Experimental Study on Preparation of Natural Gas Hydrate by Crystallization显示文摘In this paper, the saturated solution crystallization method is proposed to promote the formation of hydrate by means of the known similarities between the hydrate formation process and the crystallization process. In this method,adding the second phase crystals was used to replace the spontaneous formation of hydrate crystal nuclei to form hydrate.The effects of saturated Na_2SO_4, MgSO_4, NH_4HCO_3 and CuSO_4 solutions on the formation rates of natural gas hydrate and gas storage capacity were investigated. The results showed that the saturated solution had an influence on the hydrate formation process. Under the given experimental conditions, the saturated Na_2SO_4 solution showed a highest increase in the hydrate formation rate, and the average hydrate formation rate in its presence was 11.8 times higher than that obtained in the deionized water. Moreover, the largest formation rate of gas hydrates observed in the saturated Na_2SO_4 solution was 386 times bigger than that in the deionized water, and the gas storage capacity increased by 10 times. In addition, the average hydrate formation rate in the saturated Mg SO_4 solution was faster than that in water by 20 times. The largest formation rate of gas hydrates in the saturated MgSO_4 solution was 165 times faster than that obtained in the deionized water, and the gas storage capacity increased by 6.2 times. The saturated NH_4HCO_3 and saturated CuSO_4 solutions also influenced the formation process of hydrate. | 3 | Asymmetric distribution of cytokinins determines root hydrotropism in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘The phenomenon of plant root tips sensing moisture gradient in soil and growing towards higher water potential is designated as root hydrotropism,which is critical for plants to survive when water is a limited factor.Molecular mechanisms regulating such a fundamental process,however,are largely unknown.Here we report our identification that cytokinins are key signaling molecules directing root growth orientation in a hydrostimulation(moisture gradient)condition.Lower water potential side of the root tip shows more cytokinin response relative to the higher water potential side.Consequently,two cytokinin downstream type-A response regulators,ARR16 and ARR17,were found to be up-regulated at the lower water potential side,causing increased cell division in the meristem zone,which allows the root to bend towards higher water potential side.Genetic analyses indicated that various cytokinin biosynthesis and signaling mutants,including the arr16 arr17 double mutant,are significantly less responsive to hydrostimulation.Consistently,treatments with chemical inhibitors interfering with either cytokinin biosynthesis or cell division completely abolished root hydrotropic response.Asymmetrically induced expression of ARR16 or ARR17 effectively led to root bending in both wild-type and miz1,a previously known hydrotropism-defective mutant.These data demonstrate that asymmetric cytokinin distribution is a primary determinant governing root hydrotropism. | Jinke Chang Xiaopeng Li Weihao Fu Jiawen Wang Yueyuan Yong Hongyong Shi Zhaojun Ding Hong Kui Xiaoping Gou Kai He Jia Li | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,12: | 4 |
| 4 | RGF1-RGI1,a Peptide-Receptor Complex,Regulates Arabidopsis Root Meristem Development via a MAPK Signaling Cascade显示文摘Root growth is maintained by the continuous division of cells in the apical meristem.ROOT MERISTEM GROWTH FACTOR 1(RGF1)is a critical peptide hormone regulating root stem cell niche maintenance.Previous studies discovered that five closely related leucine-rich repeat receptor-like protein kinases(LRRRLKs),named RGF1 INSENSITIVES(RGIs)or RGF1 RECEPTORS(RGFRs),are able to perceive the RGF1 signal and redundantly control root stem cell niche maintenance.RGF1 regulates root meristem activity mainly via two downstream transcription factors,PLETHORA 1(PLT1)and PLT2.Regulatory proteins connecting cell surface RGF1-RGI1 and nuclear PLTs,however,were not identified.Here,we report that the mitogen-activated protein(MAP)kinase kinase 4(MKK4)and MAP kinase 3(MPK3)were coimmunoprecipitated with RGI1-FLAG after Arabidopsis seedlings were treated with RGF1.Genetic and biochemical assays confirmed that MKK4 and MKK5,and their downstream targets MPK3 and MPK6,are essential RG卜dependent regulators of root meristem development.In addition,we found that the MKK4/MKK5-MPK3/MPK6 module functions downstream of YDA,a MAPKKK.Our results demonstrate that RGF1-RGI1 regulate the expression of PLT1/PLT2 via a YDA-MKK4/MKK5-MPK3/MPK6 signaling cascade. | Xiaoting Lu Hongyong Shi Yang Ou Yanwei Cui Jinke Chang Liang Peng Xiaoping Gou Kai He Jia Li | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,11: | 3 |
| 5 | Traditional Chinese medicines and their active ingredients sensitize cancer cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis显示文摘The rapidly developing resistance of cancers to chemotherapy agents and the severe cytotoxicity of such agents to normal cells are major stumbling blocks in current cancer treatments.Most current chemotherapy agents have significant cytotoxicity,which leads to devastating adverse effects and results in a substandard quality of life,including increased daily morbidity and premature mortality.The death receptor of tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand(TRAIL)can sidestep p53-dependent pathways to induce tumor cell apoptosis without damaging most normal cells.However,various cancer cells can develop resistance to TRAIL-induced apoptosis via different pathways.Therefore,it is critical to find an efficient TRAIL sensitizer to reverse the resistance of tumor cells to TRAIL,and to reinforce TRAIL’s ability to induce tumor cell apoptosis.In recent years,traditional Chinese medicines and their active ingredients have shown great potential to trigger apoptotic cell death in TRAIL-resistant cancer cell lines.This review aims to collate information about Chinese medicines that can effectively reverse the resistance of tumor cells to TRAIL and enhance TRAIL’s ability to induce apoptosis.We explore the therapeutic potential of TRAIL and provide new ideas for the development of TRAIL therapy and the generation of new anticancer drugs for human cancer treatment.This study involved an extensive review of studies obtained from literature searches of electronic databases such as Google Scholar and PubMed.'TRAIL sensitize'and'Chinese medicine'were the search keywords.We then isolated newly published studies on the mechanisms of TRAIL-induced apoptosis.The name of each plant was validated using certified databases such as The Plant List.This study indicates that TRAIL can be combined with different Chinese medicine components through intrinsic or extrinsic pathways to promote cancer cell apoptosis.It also demonstrates that the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicines enhance the sensitivity of cancer cells to TRAIL-mediated apoptosis.This provides useful information regarding traditional Chinese medicine treatment,the development of TRAIL-based therapies,and the treatment of cancer. | Bingyu SUN Yongqiang LIU Danhua HE Jinke LI Jiawei WANG Wulin WENS Ming HONG | 2021 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,3: | 3 |

| 9 | Multi-action self-healing coatings with simultaneous recovery of corrosion resistance and adhesion strength显示文摘In this study, a new self-healing strategy that can simultaneously recover the corrosion resistance and the adhesion strength of coatings was introduced. The coating was based on a shape memory epoxy resin containing ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) microspheres loaded with Ce(NO_(3))_(3)inhibitors, and was cured at a relatively high temperature to facilitate the fusion of adjacent microspheres for a strengthened self-healing effect. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and scanning electrochemical microscopy(SECM) results demonstrated that the shape memory effect of epoxy matrix, the filling of molten EVA microspheres as well as the release of Ce(NO_(3))_(3)inhibitors contributed synergistically to suppress the corrosion reaction at the coating damage. After healing, the low frequency impedance modulus of the coatings containing Ce(NO_(3))_(3)-EVA microspheres was three orders of magnitude higher than that of the blank epoxy coating. | 12 | Conversion of mouse fibroblasts into oligodendrocyte progenitor-like cells through a chemical approach显示文摘Transplantation of oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) is a promising way for treating demyelinating diseases. However, generation of scalable and autologous sources of OPCs has proven difficult. We previously established a chemical condition M9 that could specifically initiate neural program in mouse embryonic fibroblasts. Here we found that M9 could induce the formation of colonies that undergo mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition at the early stage of reprogramming. These colonies may represent unstable and neural lineage-restricted intermediates that have not established a neural stem cell identity. By modulating the culture signaling recapitulating the principle of OPC development, these intermediate cells could be reprogrammed towards OPC fate. The chemical-induced OPC-like cells (ciOPLCs) resemble primary neural stem cell-derived OPCs in terms of their morphology, gene expression, and the ability of self-renewal. Upon differentiation, ciOPLCs could produce functional oligodendrocytes and myelinate the neuron axons in vitro, validating their OPC identity molecularly and functionally.
