| 1 | Methylmercury and sulfate-reducing bacteria in mangrove sediments from Jiulong River Estuary,China显示文摘Estuaries are important sites for mercury (Hg) methylation,with sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) thought to be the main Hg methylators.Distributions of total mercury (THg) and methylmercury (MeHg) in mangrove sediment and sediment core from Jiulong River Estuary Provincial Mangrove Reserve,China were determined and the possible mechanisms of Hg methylation and their controlling factors in mangrove sediments were investigated.Microbiological and geochemical parameters were also determined.Results showed that SRB constitute a small fraction of total bacteria (TB) in both surface sediments and the profile of sediments.The content of THg,MeHg,TB,and SRB were (350±150)ng/g,(0.47±0.11)ng/g,(1.4×10 11±4.1×109)cfu/g dry weight (dw),and (5.0×106±2.7×106)cfu/g dw in surficial sediments,respectively,and (240±24)ng/g,(0.30±0.15)ng/g,(1.9×1011± 4.2×1010)cfu/g dw,and (1.3×106± 2.0×106) cfu/g dw in sediment core,respectively.Results showed that THg,MeHg,TB,MeHg/THg,salinity and total sulfur (TS) increased with depth,but total organic matter (TOM),SRB,and pH decreased with depth.Concentrations of MeHg in sediments showed significant positive correlation with THg,salinity,TS,and MeHg/THg,and significant negative correlation with SRB,TOM,and pH.It was concluded that other microbes,rather than SRB,may also act as main Hg methylators in mangrove sediments. | Hao Wu Zhenhua Ding Yang Liu Jinling Liu Haiyu Yan Jiayong Pan Liuqiang Li Huina Lin Guanghui Lin Haoliang Lu | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1: | 17 |

| 8 | Analysis of QTLs for erucic acid and oil content in seeds on A8 chromosome and the linkage drag between the alleles for the two traits in Brassica napus显示文摘The history of canola breeding began with the discovery of germplasm with low erucic acid content in seeds of spring forage cultivar in the 1950's.FAE1 mutations led to a dramatic decrease of the seed erucic acid content in Arabidopsis thaliana.The products of the two FAE1 loci,BnA8.FAE1 and BnC3.FAE1,showed additive effects to the level of erucic acid content in oilseed rape.Previous research believed that the pleiotropy of FAE1 was responsible for the decrease in seed oil content along with the reduction of seed erucic acid content in the modern cultivars.TN DH population was developed from a canola cultivar Tapidor and a Chinese traditional cultivar Ningyou7.The population had been tested in 10 and 11 environments to map QTLs for the erucic acid content and oil content in seeds.As the map resolution increased,a novel QTL for seed erucic acid content was revealed,after Meta-analysis,7 cM away from the most significant seed erucic acid content QTL where BnA8.FAE1 is located.Seven independent QTLs for seed oil content(qOC) were detected around the two seed erucic acid content QTLs(qEA) across 39.20 cM on linkage group A8.Two of the qOCs co-localized with the two qEAs,respectively,and were detected in a single environment.The other five qOCs were detected in 10 of 11 environments independent of qEAs.Alleles from Tapidor in all the QTLs at the 0-39.20 cM region contributed negative effects to either erucic acid content or oil content in seeds.Parallel,geno-typing showed that on 5 of the 7 QTLs regions,Tapidor alleles had the same genotypes with that in 'Liho',the original low seed erucic acid content source.Through rounds of crossbreeding with oil-cropped cultivars and intensive selection for multi generations,Tapidor still had the inferior alleles for low seed oil content from 'Liho',the forage rape.This showed a strong linkage drag of low seed oil content,which was controlled by the five qEA-independent qOCs,with low seed erucic acid content.Ninety cultivars of B.napus from 8 countries were used to analyze the genetic drag with 9 molecular markers located in the QTL confidence intervals(24.04 cM) on linkage group A8.It was noticed that more than 46% of the cultivars with low seed erucic acid content trait remained the genotype of low seed oil content at least in one locus.Backcross and marker-assisted selection could break the genetic drag between the low oil content and erucic acid in seeds in the process for breeding modern high seed oil content canola cultivars. | Zhengying Cao Fang Tian Nian Wang Congcong Jiang Bing Lin Wei Xia Jiaqin Shi Yah Long Chunyu Zhang Jinling Meng | 2010 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,4: | 2 |

| 10 | Evolution and roles of cytokinin genes in angiosperms 2:Do ancient CKXs play housekeeping roles while non-ancient CKXs play regulatory roles?显示文摘Cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase(CKX)is a key enzyme responsible for the degradation of endogenous cytokinins.However,the origins and roles of CKX genes in angiosperm evolution remain unclear.Based on comprehensive bioinformatic and transgenic plant analyses,we demonstrate that the CKXs of land plants most likely originated from an ancient chlamydial endosymbiont during primary endosymbiosis.We refer to the CKXs retaining evolutionarily ancient characteristics as“ancient CKXs”and those that have expanded and functionally diverged in angiosperms as“non-ancient CKXs”.We show that the expression of some non-ancient CKXs is rapidly inducible within 15 min upon the dehydration of Arabidopsis,while the ancient CKX(AtCKX7)is not drought responsive.Tobacco plants overexpressing a non-ancient CKX display improved oxidative and drought tolerance and root growth.Previous mutant studies have shown that non-ancient CKXs regulate organ development,particularly that of flowers.Furthermore,ancient CKXs preferentially degrade cis-zeatin(cZ)-type cytokinins,while non-ancient CKXs preferentially target N6-(Δ2-isopentenyl)adenines(iPs)and trans-zeatins(tZs).Based on the results of this work,an accompanying study(Wang et al.https://doi.org/10.1038/s41438-019-0211-x)and previous studies,we hypothesize that non-ancient CKXs and their preferred substrates of iP/tZ-type cytokinins regulate angiosperm organ development and environmental stress responses,while ancient CKXs and their preferred substrates of cZs play a housekeeping role,which echoes the conclusions and hypothesis described in the accompanying report(Wang,X.et al.Evolution and roles of cytokinin genes in angiosperms 1:Doancient IPTs play housekeeping while non-ancient IPTs play regulatory roles?Hortic Res 7,(2020).https://doi.org/10.1038/s41438-019-0211-x). | Xiaojing Wang Jing Ding Shanshan Lin Decai Liu Tingting Gu HanWu Robert N.Trigiano Richard McAvoy Jinling Huang Yi Li | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 1 |

| 14 | Cardiovascular Disease Mortality—China,2019显示文摘Introduction:Cardiovascular disease(CVD)is the leading cause of death and has caused a heavy burden in China.China has about 106 million CVD patients,including 33 million with stroke.This study presents the latest cardiovascular mortality in China in 2019 to provide evidence for disease control and prevention.Methods:Mortality data from the China Death Surveillance Point System(DSP System)was used for CVD mortality estimation.A descriptive analysis was conducted to demonstrate the results.Results:A total of 5.09 million CVD deaths were estimated in China in 2019,with a mortality rate and age-standardized mortality rate of 364.5 per 100,000 population and 276.0 per 100,000,respectively.Stroke is the leading cause of death,and the mortality rate and age-standardized mortality rate(ASMR)were 171.6 per 100,000 and 130.0 per 100,000,respectively.The second major cause was ischemic heart diseases,and the mortality rate and ASMR were 147.3 per 100,000 and 142.1 per 100,000,respectively.Stroke and ischemic heart diseases were the two major causes of CVD deaths,which accounted for over 87%of all CVD deaths.Conclusions:Although age-standardized mortality of CVD continues to decline in China,the number of deaths is still increasing.Therefore,prevention and control efforts for CVD should be maintained.In order to achieve the“Healthy China 2030”goal of reducing the mortality rate of CVD in China,it is necessary to further strengthen the prevention,control,and treatment capacity of stroke.Meanwhile,increases in ischemic heart disease deaths in highly developed areas should be monitored. | Jiangmei Liu Jinlei Qi Peng Yin Yunning Liu Jinling You Lin Lin Maigeng Zhou Lijun Wang | 2021 | China CDC weekly2021,3,15: | 1 |

| 17 | Thermoelectric transport properties of Bi CuSeO with embedded La0.8Sr_(0.2)CoO_3 nanoinclusions显示文摘The efficiency-upgrading role that La0.8Sr_(0.2)CoO_3(LSCO) plays in the thermoelectric properties of Bi Cu Se O(BCSO) has been studied. LSCO was introduced into BCSO, increasing the electrical conductivity from 3.3 to 52.3 S cm-1 at 303 K, from 35.8 to 97.3 S cm^(-1) at 873 K; respectively. The Seebeck coefficient of all composites still holds around or more than 200 μV/K. Based on the enhanced electrical conductivity and high Seebeck coefficient, the power factor is enhanced by approximately 35%, with the best sample reaching a maximum value of 476.7 μ Wm^(-1) K^(-2) at 873 K. The lattice thermal conductivity of the nanocomposites is reduced as LSCO content increases from 15 vol% to 30 vol% due to the phonon scattering by nanoparticles and grain boundaries, resulting in a significant reduction in total thermal conductivity.
