| 1 | Altered trends in carbon uptake in China’s terrestrial ecosystems under the enhanced summer monsoon and warming hiatus显示文摘The carbon budgets in terrestrial ecosystems in China are strongly coupled with climate changes.Over the past decade,China has experienced dramatic climate changes characterized by enhanced summer monsoon and decelerated warming.However,the changes in the trends of terrestrial net ecosystem production(NEP)in China under climate changes are not well documented.Here,we used three ecosystem models to simulate the spatiotemporal variations in China's NEP during 1982–2010 and quantify the contribution of the strengthened summer monsoon and warming hiatus to the NEP variations in four distinct climatic regions of the country.Our results revealed a decadal-scale shift in NEP from a downtrend of–5.95 Tg C/yr^2(reduced sink)during 1982–2000 to an uptrend of 14.22 Tg C/yr^2(enhanced sink)during 2000–10.This shift was essentially induced by the strengthened summer monsoon,which stimulated carbon uptake,and the warming hiatus,which lessened the decrease in the NEP trend.Compared to the contribution of 56.3%by the climate effect,atmospheric CO2 concentration and nitrogen deposition had relatively small contributions(8.6 and 11.3%,respectively)to the shift.In conclusion,within the context of the global-warming hiatus,the strengthening of the summer monsoon is a critical climate factor that enhances carbon uptake in China due to the asymmetric response of photosynthesis and respiration.Our study not only revealed the shift in ecosystem carbon sequestration in China in recent decades,but also provides some insight for understanding ecosystem carbon dynamics in other monsoonal areas. | Honglin He Shaoqiang Wang Li Zhang Junbang Wang Xiaoli Ren Lei Zhou Shilong Piao Hao Yan Weimin Ju Fengxue Gu Shiyong Yu Yuanhe Yang Miaomiao Wang Zhongen Niu Rcmg Ge Huimin Yan Mei Huang Guoyi Zhou Yongfei Bai Zongqiang Xie Zhiyao Tang Bingfang Wu Leiming Zhang Nianpeng He Qiufeng Wang Guirui Yu | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,3: | 24 |

| 4 | Fluid Inclusion and H-O Isotope Geochemistry of the Phapon Gold Deposit, NW Laos: Implications for Fluid Source and Ore Genesis显示文摘The Phapon gold deposit, located in northern Laos, is a unique large-scale gold deposit in Luang Prabang-Loei metallogenic belt. It is hosted in the Lower Permian limestone and controlled by a NE-trending ductile-brittle fault system. There are three types of primary ore including auriferous calcite vein type, disseminated type, and breccia type, and the first two are important in the Phapon gold deposit. Based on fluid inclusion petrography and microthermometry, three types of primary fluid inclusions including type 1 liquid-rich aqueous, type 2 vapor-rich aqueous and type 3 daughter mineralbearing aqueous were identified in hydrothermal calcite grains. The ore-forming fluids are normally homogeneous, as indicated by the widespread type 1 inclusions with identical composition. The coexistence of type 1 and type 2 inclusions, showing similar final homogenization temperature but different compositions, indicate that fluid immiscibility did locally take place in both two types of ores. The results of microthermometry and H-O isotopes geochemistry indicate that there are little differences on ore-fluid geochemistry between the auriferous calcite vein-type and disseminated type ores. The oreforming fluids are characterized by medium-low temperatures(157–268 oC) and low salinity(1.6 wt.%–9.9 wt.% NaCl eq.). It is likely to have a metamorphic-dominant mixed source, which could be associated with dehydration and decarbonisation of Lower Permian limestone and Middle–Upper Triassic sandstones during the dynamic metamorphism. The fluid-wallrock interaction played a major role, and the locally occurred fluid-immiscible processes played a subordinate role in gold precipitation. Shaan 2A CMS line is the parent of the first rapeseed hybrid cultivar Qinyou No. 2 that has been grown in many regions of China. In this work, genomic DNA of Polima CMS line and Shaan 2A CMS line were used as templates, two primers of specific oligonucleo-tides at 5’ and 3’ ends were used, PCR was performed, the amplification fragments were cloned into pGEM-T Easy vectors and DNA sequences were determined. The CMS-associated gene, orf224-1 present in Shaan 2A CMS line, has a sequence highly homologous to the orf224 of the Polima CMS line, except for one nucleotidc at position +398. There were only one base (AAC→AGC) and one amino acid (Asn→Ser) differences between the two. The homologies of the two sequences in nucleotide and amino acid were 99.9% and 99.6%, respectively. | 8 | Sheep manure application increases soil exchangeable base cations in a semi-arid steppe of Inner Mongolia显示文摘The long-term productivity of a soil is greatly influenced by cation exchange capacity(CEC).Moreover,interactions between dominant base cations and other nutrients are important for the health and stability of grassland ecosystems.Soil exchangeable base cations and cation ratios were examined in a 11-year experiment with sheep manure application rates 0–1,500 g/(m2?a) in a semi-arid steppe in Inner Mongolia of China,aiming to clarify the relationships of base cations with soil p H,buffer capacity and fertility.Results showed that CEC and contents of exchangeable calcium(Ca2+),magnesium(Mg2+),potassium(K+) and sodium(Na+) were significantly increased,and Ca2+ saturation tended to decrease,while K+ saturation tended to increase with the increases of sheep manure application rates.The Ca2+/Mg2+ and Ca2+/K+ ratios decreased,while Mg2+,K+ and Na+ saturations increased with increasing manure application rates.Both base cations and CEC were significantly and positively correlated with soil organic carbon(SOC) and soil p H.The increases of SOC and soil p H would be the dominant factors that contribute to the increase of cations in soil.On a comparison with the initial soil p H before the experiment,we deduced that sheep manure application could partly buffer soil p H decrease potentially induced by atmospheric deposition of nitrogen and sulfur.Our results indicate that sheep manure application is beneficial to the maintenance of base cations and the buffering of soil acidification,and therefore can improve soil fertility in the semi-arid steppes of northeastern China. | YuGe ZHANG Shan YANG MingMing FU JiangPing CAI YongYong ZHANG RuZhen WANG ZhuWen XU YongFei BAI Yong JIANG | 2015 | Journal of Arid Land2015,7,3: | 7 |
| 9 | The temporal dynamics of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella enterica and predominant serovars in China显示文摘Salmonella enterica is one of the most common bacterial pathogens in humans and animals.Systematic studies on the trends and geographical distribution of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella and dominant serovars have been well studied in European and American countries while not in China.Here,taking the One-Health strategy,we used>35000 Salmonella enterica isolates to explore the temporal and spatial dynamics of dominant serovars in China.We found that Salmonella Typhimurium was the dominant serovar causing human infection in China,which was consistent with Australia but inconsistent with North American and European countries.The proportion of Salmonella serovars Typhimurium,London,Rissen,Corvallis,Meleagridis,Kentucky,and Goldcoast showed an increasing trend during 2006-2019.We randomly selected 1962 isolates for comparative genomics and antimicrobial resistance studies and found that the number of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)per isolate increased 1.84 and 2.69 times of human and non-human origins,respectively,spanning 14 years.The proportion of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella isolates had an increasing trend during 2006-2019,especially beta-lactam,quinolone,tetracycline,and rifampicin resistance.Moreover,we found that higher diversity of sequence types(STs)in S.Typhimurium than in other serovars,ST34 from pig and ST 19 from chicken origin,were mainly associated with isolates causing child and adult gastro-infection,respectively.Our results fill in the data gap on the trends of dominant serovars and antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella enterica in China.These data provide useful information for public health decision-makers prioritizing interventions for foodborne diseases and food safety. | Yanan Wang Yue Liu Na Lyu Zhiyuan Li Sufang Ma Demin Cao Yuanlong Pan Yongfei Hu Hua Huang George F.Gao Xuebin Xu Baoli Zhu | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,3: | 4 |
| 10 | Geochemical characteristics of Bikou volcanic group and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic composition: Evidence for breakup event in the north margin of Yangtze plate, Jining era显示文摘The geodynamic setting of the Bikou volcanic group is a critical question to trace the Precambrain tectonic framework and evolution for the Yangtze plate. This study has suggested that the Bikou volcanic group is composed of several residual oceanic crust units: MORB (mid-ocean ridge basalt), Alk-OIB (alkaline ocean island basalt) and Th-OIB (tholeiitic ocean island basalt) as well as subduction-related volcanic rocks. According to field observation, those distinct rocks occurred collectively in form of tectonic contact, implying that the Bikou volcanic group was an ophiolitic mélange. Coupled with geochronological data, a perished oceanic basin at the northern margin of the Yangtze block during Neoproterozoic was tested by this ophiolitic mélange. Meanwhile, the isogeochemical data suggest that the ocean occurred in the Southern Hemisphere identical to Indian, South Atlantic and South Pacific oceans in terms of their Dupal anomalies, and the original source of the rocks could be probably mixing by EMⅠand EMⅡ component caused by dehydration melting of subducting oceanic crust during subduction process. | 12 | Profiling and bioinformatics analysis of differentially expressed circular RNAs in human intervertebral disc degeneration显示文摘The functional changes of nucleus pulposus (NP) cells are considered to be the initiating factors of intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD), and the differentially expressed circRNAs in NP cells may play an important role in the process of IDD. To identify circular RNAs (circRNAs) associated with human IDD, we isolated the NP cells from human degenerated and non-degenerated intervertebral disc and identified NP cells by microscopy and cell proliferation. CircRNA microarray expression profiles were obtained from NP cells of degenerated and non-degenerated intervertebral disc and further validated by quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRTPCR). The expression data were analyzed by bioinformatics. Microarray analysis identified 7294 circRNAs differentially expressed in degenerated human IDD NP cells. Among them, 3724 circRNAs were up-regulated and 3570 circRNAs were down-regulated by more than 2 folds. After validating by qRT-PCR, we predicted the possible miRNAs of the top dysregulated circRNAs using TargetScan, and miRanda. Furthermore, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis showed that the most modulated circRNAs regulate the viability, degradation, apoptosis and oxidative stress in NP cells, and the possible mechanism underlying IDD was discussed. | 15 | Recognition of Early Paleozoic Magmatisms in the Supposed Proterozoic Basements of Zhalantun, Great Xing’an Range, NE China显示文摘The Zhalantun terrane from the Xing’an massif, northeast China, was used to be considered as Proterozoic basements. However, amounts of detrital zircon ages from the meta-sedimentary rocks deny the existence of Precambrian basements recently. Notably, magmatic rocks were barely reported to limit the exact ages of the Zhalantun basements. In this study, we collected rhyolite, gabbro and quartz diorite for zircon in-situ U-Pb isotopic dating, which yield crystallization ages of ~505 Ma, ~447 Ma and ~125 Ma, respectively. Muscovite schist and siltstone define maximum depositional ages of ~499 Ma and ~489 Ma, respectively. Additionally, these dated supracrustal rocks and plutons also yield ancient detrital/xenocryst zircon ages of ~600-1000 Ma, ~1600-2220 Ma, ~2400 Ma, ~2600-2860 Ma. Based on the whole-rock major and trace element compositions, the ~505 Ma rhyolites display high SiO2 and alkaline contents, low Fe2O3T, TiO2 and Al2O3, and relatively high Mg O and Mg#, which exhibit calc-alkaline characteristics. These rhyolites yield fractionated REE patterns and negative Nb, Ta, Ti, Sr, P and Eu anomalies and positive Zr anomalies. The geochemistry, petrology and Lu-Hf isotopes imply that rhyolites were derived from the partial melting of continental basalt induced by upwelling of sub-arc mantle magmas, and then experienced fractional crystallization of plagioclase, which points to a continental arc regime. The ~447 Ma gabbros exhibit low Si O2 and alkaline contents, high Fe2 O3 T, Ti O2, Mg O and Mg#. They show minor depletions of La and Ce, flat MREE and HREE patterns, and negative Nb, Ta, Zr and Hf anomalies. Both sub-arc mantle and N-MORB-like mantle were involved in the formation of the gabbros, indicative of a probable back-arc basin tectonic setting. Given that, the previously believed Proterozoic supracrustal rocks and several plutons from the Zhalantun Precambrian basements were proved to be Paleozoic to Mesozoic rocks, among which these Paleozoic magmatic rocks were generally related to subduction regime. So far, none Proterozoic rocks have been identified from the Zhalantun Precambrian basement, though some ~600-3210 Ma ancient detrital/xenocryst zircons were reported. | 16 | Experimental Optimization of Jet Self-Priming Centrifugal Pump Based on Orthogonal Design and Grey-Correlational Method显示文摘The novel jet self-priming centrifugal pump,as important modern irrigation equipment,is widely used in large-scale irrigation,mine drainage and so on.In order to improve the profile streamline of blade,the inlet shape of impeller was designed as distorted and the outlet shape as cylindrical,which can not only improve the pump efficiency,but also shorten the self-priming time.Further,the novel jet self-priming system was proposed,by employing the jet nozzle and check valve to improve the velocity of self-priming.Meanwhile,nine different structure jet nozzles were designed based on the orthogonal design method,and the relevant self-priming experiments were performed on I level accuracy test bench in Jiangsu University.According to the greycorrelational analysis,the influence of the nozzle geometry parameters on the self-priming performance was obtained.The relationship between self-priming time and self-priming height was discussed.The test results showed that the hydraulic design of jet self-priming centrifugal pump was reasonable;all indicators met the Chinese national standard;the head reached 21.04 m and efficiency was 72.8%under the design flow condition.What is more,the self-priming performance was obviously improved by adjusting the geometrical parameters of nozzle.When the height of the self-priming process was 5.3 m,the self-priming time reached 62 s,which was much shorter than the national standard.Therefore,this research could provide reference for designing the structure of jet self-priming centrifugal pump. | CHANG Hao SHI Weidong LI Wei WANG Chuan ZHOU Ling LIU Jianrui YANG Yongfei RAMESH KAgarwal | 2020 | Journal of Thermal Science2020,29,1: | 3 |

| 19 | Robust superamphiphobic coatings with gradient and hierarchical architecture and excellent anti-flashover performances显示文摘Biomimetic superhydrophobic(SH)coatings have emerged as a promising alternative to traditional room temperature vulcanizing(RTV)silicone rubber coatings for improving the flashover strength of insulators.However,organic contamination occurs in outdoor applications and thus a superamphiphobic(SAP)surface is more desirable but not yet reported for improving flashover performance.Herein,we developed a novel anti-flashover technique by fabricating robust SAP coating with unique gradient and micro-nanoscale hierarchical architecture.The SAP coating was fabricated by sequentially spray-depositing a resin-based primer and a silica-based topcoat on substrates(i.e.,glass slides and insulators).The primer not only functions as an adhesive offering strong adhesion to the substrate but also offers a micromastoid-like structure facilitating the subsequent formation of hierarchical micro-nanostructure.The appropriate spraying pressure leads to a diffusion of the fluorocarbon-modified silica nanoparticles into the primer to form a unique gradient structure,by analogy to inserting bullets into a wood.These features render the SAP coating excellent robustness with strong abrasive resistance,excellent ultraviolet(UV)resistance,and excellent chemical and thermal stability.Pollution flashover property of the SAP coating was explored and compared with that of SH and RTV specimens,from which a novel organic-contamination model to evaluate the flashover performance was proposed.The coated SAP glass insulator demonstrated 42.9%pollution flashover voltage improvement than RTV-coated insulator.These stated unique features reveal the convincing potential of the present SAP coatings to be applied for not only outdoor transmission line insulators for antiflashover but also other fields for self-cleaning,anti-fouling,and anti-icing. | Yi Xie Wei Xiong Shefiu Kareem Chuxiong Qiu Yongfei Hu Ivan PParkin Shengwu Wang Huayun Wang Junwu Chen Lee Li Zhi Chen Huajun Sun Xiujian Zhao | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,8: | 2 |
