2Mitochondrial protein sulfenation during aging in the rat brain显示文摘There is accumulating evidence that cysteine sulfenation (cys-SOH) in proteins plays an important rolein cellular response to oxidative stress. The purpose of the present study was to identify mitochondrialproteins that undergo changes in cys-SOH during aging. Studies were conducted in rats when they were5 or 30 months of age. Following blocking of free protein thiols with N-ethylmaleimide, protein sulfenicacids were reduced by arsenite to free thiol groups that were subsequently labeled with biotin-maleimide. Samples were then comparatively analyzed by two-dimensional Western blots, and proteinsshowing changes in sulfenation were selectively identified by mass spectrometry peptide sequencing.As a result, five proteins were identified. Proteins showing an age-related decrease in sulfenationinclude pyruvate carboxylase and pyruvate dehydrogenase; while those showing an age-relatedincrease in sulfenation include aconitase, mitofilin, and tubulin (α-1). 7MXene quantum dot within natural 3D watermelon peel matrix for biocompatible flexible sensing platform显示文摘Environmentally friendly biomimetic materials with good deformability,high pressure-sensitive performance,and excellent biocompatibility are highly attractive for health monitoring,but to simultaneously meet these requirements is a formidable challenge.In this study,biocompatible MXene quantum dot(MQD)/watermelon peel(WMP)aerogels were obtained by immersing freeze-dried fresh watermelon peel into the quantum dot dispersion.The resulting bio-aerogels with a three-dimensional(3D)porous network structure exhibited a low in elasticity modulus(0.03 MPa)and limit of detection(0.4 Pa)and it showed biocompatibility.With a maximum pressure-sensitive response of 323 kPa^(-1),the 3D porous MQD/WMP aerogels exhibited good stability.In addition,the sensing signals could be displayed on mobile phones through a Bluetooth module to monitor human motion(pulse,sound,and walking)in real time.More importantly,the MQD/WMP aerogels exhibited excellent biocompatibility in a cytotoxicity test,thus decreasing the safety risk when they are applied to human skin.The finding in this study will facilitate the fabrication of high-performance biomimetic MXene active matrices,which are derived from natural biological materials,for flexible electronics.Jinzi Sun Hui Du Zhaojun Chen Lili Wang Guozhen Shen 2022Nano Research2022,15,4:1

11Ribosome biogenesis protein Urb1 acts downstream of mTOR complex 1 to modulate digestive organ development in zebrafish显示文摘Ribosome biogenesis is essential for the cell growth and division. Disruptions in ribosome biogenesis result in developmental defects and a group of diseases, known as ribosomopathies. Here, we report a mutation in zebrafish urb1, which encodes an essential ribosome biogenesis protein. The urb1 cq31 mutant exhibits hypoplastic digestive organs, which is caused by impaired cell proliferation with the differentiation of digestive organ progenitors unaffected. Knockdown of mtor or raptor leads to similar hypoplastic phenotypes and reduced expression of urb1 in the digestive organs. Overexpression of Urb1 results in overgrowth of digestive organs, and can efficiently rescue the hypoplastic liver and pancreas in the mtor and raptor morphants. Reduced syntheses of free ribosomal subunits and impaired assembly of polysomes are observed in the urb1 mutant as well as in the mtor and raptor morphants, which can be rescued by the Urb1 overexpression. These data demonstrate that Urb1 plays an important role in governing ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis downstream of mammalian/mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1(mTORC1), thus regulating the development of digestive organs. 16The Jinsha River Groundwater Observation Network and Discussion about Its Earthquake Precursor Monitoring Capability显示文摘A groundwater observational network for monitoring seismic precursors has been established at the reservoirs on the lower reaches of the Jinsha River in southwestern China, where a series of hydropower stations are under construction. It is the second network in China that is operated by enterprises with the purpose to observe and study earthquake precursors in reservoir areas. This paper presents the layout and technical constitution of the network, features of its observational wells and aquifers and the preliminary result of its experimental operation. 17Effects of oxygen vacancy on bond ionicity,lattice energy,and microwave dielectric properties of CeO_(2) ceramics with Yb^(3+)substitution显示文摘Novel Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x)(x=0-0.8)ceramics,designed by replacing Ce^(4+)with Yb^(3+)ions were prepared by conventional oxide reaction,and the structural stability of the cubic fluorite structure was assessed using lattice energy and ionic properties of Ce/Yb-O bonds.The oxygen vacancy caused by unequal substitution,which played a decisive role in bond ionicity and lattice energy,was analyzed experimentally by XPS and also theoretically by first principles.The Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x) ceramics maintain a stable cubic fluorite structure when x≤0.47,corresponding to the minimum lattice energy of 4142 kJ/mol with the lowest ionicity as ƒ_(i)=87.57%.For microwave dielectric properties,when the Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x)(x=0-0.4)ceramics are pure phase,the porosity-corrected permittivity is dependent on the bond ionicity.The Q׃ values are related to the lattice energy and grain distribution.The temperature coefficient of resonance frequency has been analyzed using bond valence.When the Yb_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2-0.5x)(x=0.5-0.8)ceramics are multiple phases,the microwave dielectric properties are associated with the phase composition and grain growth.Mingan Shi Shuyang Ma Wangsuo Xia Ying Wang Jinzi Yu Haitao Wu 2024Journal of Advanced Ceramics2024,13,2:0

20Fine Measurements and Analysis of Temperature Gradients in the Wells of the Jinsha River Groundwater Observational Network显示文摘Fine measurements have been conducted to temperatures and their gradients of six wells of the Jinsha River Groundwater Observational Network.The results show that the influence depths of sun radiation heat are 50m to 125m,average temperature gradients in the wells range from 0.11 to 2.81℃/hm and most are 1~2℃/hm,and the temperature gradients on varied depth sections of one well are highly changeable.Lithology of strata and their integrity,particularly high-angle crashed fault zones,have imposed major effects on the influence depths of sun radiation heat and temperature gradients of the wells.The micro dynamic characteristics of water temperature,such as coseismic effects,tidal effects and anomalies of the wells prior to earthquakes,probably depend,to a large degree,on the temperature gradients of the depths at which the water temperature sensors are settled.Che Yongtai He Anhua Yu Jinzi Liu Chenglong Li Wanming 2012Earthquake Research in China2012,26,1:0
