1A novel selective autophagy receptor,CCDC50,delivers K63 polyubiquitination-activated RIG-I/MDA5 for degradation during viral infection显示文摘Autophagy is a con served process that delivers cytosolic substa nces to the lysosome for degradatio n,but its direct role in the regulation of antiviral inn ate immu nity remains poorly un derstood.Here,through high-throughput screeni ng,we discovered that CCDC50 functions as a previously unknown autophagy receptor that negatively regulates the type I interferon(IFN)signaling pathway initiated by RIG-I-like receptors(RLRs),the sensors for RNA viruses.The expression of CCDC50 is enhanced by viral infection,and CCDC50 specifically recognizes K63-polyubiquitinated RLRs,thus delivering the activated RIG-I/MDA5 for autophagic degradation.The associatio n of CCDC50 with phagophore membrane protei n LC3 is con firmed by crystal structure analysis.In contrast to other known autophagic cargo receptors that associate with either the LIR-docking site(LDS)or the UIMdocking site(UDS)of LC3,CCDC50 can bind to both LDS and UDS,representing a new type of cargo receptor.In mouse models with RNA virus infection,CCDC50 deficiency reduces the autophagic degradation of RIG-I/MDA5 and promotes type I IFN responses,resulting in enhaneed viral resistance and improved survival rates.These results reveal a new link between autophagy and antiviral innate immune resp on ses and provide additional in sights into the regulatory mecha nisms of RLR-mediated antiviral signaling.Panpan Hou Kongxiang Yang Penghui Jia Lan Liu Yuxin Lin Zibo Li Jun Li Shuliang Chen Shuting Guo Ji'An Pan Junyu Wu Hong Peng Weijie Zeng Chunmei Li Yingfang Liu Deyin Guo 2021Cell Research2021,31,1:5
2Rambutan-like hollow carbon spheres decorated with vacancy-rich nickel oxide for energy conversion and storage显示文摘Transition metal oxides hold great promise for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)and electrocatalytic water splitting because of their high abundance and high energy density.However,designing and fabrication of efficient,stable,high power density electrode materials are challenging.Herein,we report rambutan-like hollow carbon spheres formed by carbon nanosheet decorated with nickel oxide(NiO)rich inmetal vacancies(denoted as h-NiO/C)as a bifunctional electrode material for LIBs and electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction(OER).When being used as the anode of LIBs,the h-NiO/C electrode shows a large initial capacity of 885mAh g−1,a robust stability with a high capacity of 817mAh g−1 after 400 cycles,and great rate capability with a high reversible capacity of 523mAh g−1 at 10Ag−1 after 600 cycles.Moreover,working as an OER electrocatalyst,the h-NiO/C electrode shows a small overpotential of 260mV at 10mAcm−2,a Tafel slope of 37.6mVdec−1 along with good stability.Our work offers a cost-effective method for the fabrication of efficient electrode for LIBs and OER.Zixu Sun Xinghui Wang Hu Zhao See W.Koh Junyu Ge Yunxing Zhao Pingqi Gao Guangjin Wang Hong Li 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,1:4
3Polysaccharide,proline,and anti-oxidation enzyme activities of Thailand rosewood(Dalbergia cochinchinensis)seedlings exposed to exponential fertilization显示文摘Thailand rosewood(Dalbergia cochinchinensis)is a vulnerable high value tree species in subtropical and tropical Southeast Asia.The demand for the rehabilitation of the natural habitat of the species requires high-quality seedlings.However,current fertilizer regimes tend to deliver a coarse rate of fertilizers that result in a low uptake efficiency and a high risk of nutrient excess.Exponential fertilization is an effective approach to promote seedling quality through identifying an optimum dose out of a range of applications.In this study,Thailand rosewood seedlings were cultured in a mixed substrate of perlite,vermiculite,and peat(2:2:3,v/v/v)and received exponential fertilization from 0(control),through 100,200,300,400,and 600 mg nitrogen(N)per plant over a four-month cultural rotation.Height,diameter,and shoot biomass increased with fertilizer rate and were maximized at 300 mg N per plant.This application also reduced nutrient deficiencies and avoided excess supply compared to higher rates.Polysaccharide,proline,and anti-oxidation enzyme activities tended to be greater in unfertilized controls or in over-fertilized high dosages,with lower activities around 100–300 mg N plant(-1).Application of 300 mg N per plant was identified as the optimum dosage as it maximized nutrient reserves,polysaccharide and proline contents,and anti-oxidants without causing any symptoms from excess fertilizer toxicity.Future work is required to identify the effects of N-fixation on the formation of nutritional reserves in Thailand rosewood seedlings subjected to exponential fertilization.Zhou Hong Junyu Guo Ningnan Zhang Zengjiang Yang Xiaojing Liu Zhiyi Cui Daping Xu 2022Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,1:4
4Non-Structural Protein 5 of Zika Virus Interacts with p53 in Human Neural Progenitor Cells and Induces p53-Mediated Apoptosis显示文摘Zika virus(ZIKV) infection could disrupt neurogenesis and cause microcephaly in neonates by targeting neural progenitor cells(NPCs). The tumor suppressor p53-mediated cell cycle arrest and apoptotic cell death have been suggested to be activated upon ZIKV infection, yet the detailed mechanism is not well understood. In the present study, we investigated the effects of ZIKV-encoded proteins in the activation of p53 signaling pathway and found that, among the ten viral proteins,the nonstructural protein 5(NS5) of ZIKV most significantly activated the transcription of p53 target genes. Using the immunoprecipitation-coupled mass spectrometry approach, we identified that ZIKV-NS5 interacted with p53 protein. The NS5-p53 interaction was further confirmed by co-immunoprecipitation and GST pull-down assays. In addition, the MTase domain of NS5 and the C-terminal domain of p53 were mapped to be responsible for the interaction between these two proteins. We further showed that ZIKV-NS5 was colocalized with p53 and increased its protein level in the nuclei and able to prolong the half-life of p53. Furthermore, lentivirus-mediated expression of ZIKV-NS5 in hNPCs led to an apparent cell death phenotype. 5Determination of mechanical parameters for elements in meso-mechanical models of concrete显示文摘The responses of cement mortar specimens of different dimensions under compression and tension were calculated based on the discrete element method with the modified-rigid-body-spring concrete model,in which the mechanical parameters derived from macro-scale material tests were applied directly to the mortar elements.By comparing the calculated results with those predicted by the Carpinteri andWeibull size effects laws,a series of formulas to convert the macro-scale mechanical parameters of mortar and interface to those at the meso-scale were proposed through a fitting analysis.Based on the proposed formulas,numerical simulation of axial compressive and tensile failure processes of concrete and cement mortar materials,respectively were conducted.The calculated results were a good match with the test results.Xianglin GU Junyu JIA Zhuolin WANG Li HONG Feng LIN 2013Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2013,7,4:1
6Calcium carbonate promotes the formation and stability of soil macroaggregates in mining areas of China显示文摘We studied changes in the concentrations of aggregate-cementing agents after different reclamation times and with different fertilization regimes,as well as the formation mechanism of aggregates in reclaimed soil,to provide a theoretical basis for rapid reclamation of soil fertility in the subsidence area of coal mines in Shanxi Province,China.In this study,soil samples of 0–20 cm depth were collected from four fertilization treatments of a longterm experiment started in 2008:no fertilizer (CK),inorganic fertilizer (NPK),chicken manure compost (M),and50%inorganic fertilizer plus 50%chicken manure compost (MNPK).The concentrations of cementing agents and changes in soil aggregate size distribution and stability were analysed.The results showed that the formation of>2 mm aggregates,the aggregate mean weight diameter (MWD),and the proportion of>0.25 mm water-stable aggregates (WR_(0.25)) increased significantly after 6 and 11 years of reclamation.The concentration of organic cementing agents tended to increase with reclamation time,whereas free iron oxide (Fed) and free aluminium oxide(Ald) concentrations initially increased but then decreased.In general,the MNPK treatment signi?cantly increased the concentrations of organic cementing agents and CaCO_(3),and CaCO_(3) increased by 60.4%at 11 years after reclamation.Additionally,CaCO_(3) had the greatest effect on the stability of aggregates,promoting the formation of>0.25 mm aggregates and accounting for 54.4%of the variance in the proportion and stability of the aggregates.It was concluded that long-term reclamation is bene?cial for improving soil structure.The MNPK treatment was the most effective measure for increasing maize grain yield and concentration of organic cementing agents and CaCO_(3).Junyu Xie Jianyong Gao Hanbing Cao Jiahui Li Xiang Wang Jie Zhang Huisheng Meng Jianping Hong Tingliang Li Minggang Xu 2024Journal of Integrative Agriculture2024,23,3:0

8Impact of Accumulated Temperature on Wetland Vegetation Area in Poyang Lake显示文摘Accumulated temperature,which is now widely used in agronomy,is an important ecological factor to the growth of plants,but few relative studies have been found on the vegetation area of floodplain grasslands in Poyang Lake.This research used the classification and regression tree(CART)to classify normalized vegetation area index derived from MODIS LAI(Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer Leaf Area Index)images from 2008 to 2014,according to different climate indexes,such as mean daily air temperature(n),accumulated temperature(jw),daily maximum temperature(g),daily minimum temperature(d),accumulative precipitation(j),water level(s)and average water level for 20 days preceding(a).The results showed that:(1)The accumulated temperature and the 20-day average WL(water level)were found to have the greatest impact on variation in wetland vegetation area,and they both dominated the classification process twice;(2)Two classification thresholds of accumulated temperature were 790°C and 1784°C,approximately corresponding to the beginning of April and midMay;(3)790°C could also be used as a threshold to select remote sensing images to analysis the annual variability of vegetation,i.e.while accumulated temperature is lower than 790°C,remote sensing images of similar accumulated temperature rather than similar date should be selected from different years for comparison.We also found that,effects of different hydrological factors on area of floodplain grasslands showed stage characteristics:(1)From January to March,water level changes slowly with less rainfall,as a result,the 20-day average WL which can interpret the hydrologic characteristics smoothly showed significant importance in this stage;(2)While entering April,intense rainfall make accumulative precipitation to be the dominating factor of classification;(3)From late April to mid-May,in condition of accumulative precipitation higher than 405 mm,daily water level is of most importance,because to the flood recession process as well as rapid water level fluctuations.Xin Yao Junyu Zhu Hong Zeng Wenzheng Yu Hanxiaoya Zhang 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10:0
9Photovoltaic-powered supercapacitors for driving overall water splitting:A dual-modulated 3D architecture显示文摘Due to the growing demand for clean and renewable hydrogen fuel,there has been a surge of interest in electrocatalytic water-splitting devices driven by renewable energy sources.However,the feasibility of self-driven water splitting is limited by inefficient connections between functional modules,lack of highly active and stable electrocatalysts,and intermittent and unpredictable renewable energy supply.Herein,we construct a dualmodulated three-dimensional(3D)NiCo_(2)O_(4)@NiCo_(2)S_(4)(denoted as NCONCS)heterostructure deposited on nickel foam as a multifunctional electrode for electrocatalytic water splitting driven by photovoltaic-powered supercapacitors.Due to a stable 3D architecture configuration,abundant active sites,efficient charge transfer,and tuned interface properties,the NCONCS delivers a high specific capacity and rate performance for supercapacitors.A twoelectrode electrolyzer assembled with the NCONCS as both the anode and the cathode only requires a low cell voltage of 1.47 V to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2) in alkaline electrolyte,which outperforms the state-of-the-art bifunctional electrocatalysts.Theoretical calculations suggest that the generated heterointerfaces in NCONCS improve the surface binding capability of reaction intermediates while regulating the local electronic structures,which thus accelerates the reaction kinetics of water electrolysis.As a proof of concept,an integrated configuration comprising a two-electrode electrolyzer driven by two series-connected supercapacitors charged by a solar cell delivers a high product yield with superior durability.Zixu Sun Lijuan Sun See Wee Koh Junyu Ge Jipeng Fei Mengqi Yao Wei Hong Shude Liu Yusuke Yamauchi Hong Li 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,6:0
