| 2 | Geochemistry and Zircon U-Pb Dating of Changshagou Adakite from the South Altyn UHPM Terrane: Evidence of the Partial Melting of the Lower Crust显示文摘Changshagou adakite, an outcrop in the middle segment of the South Altyn Tagh ultra-high pressure metamorphism(UHPM) terrane, contains medium-K cal-alkaline and weakly peraluminous compositions(Si O2 = 66.79% to 68.65%, Al2O3 = 17.48% to 18.31%, K2 O + Na2 O = 6.32% to 6.88%, K2O/Na2 O = 0.25 to 0.33, A/CNK = 1.01 to 1.06). This outcrop is also enriched with large ion lithophile elements but with depleted high-field strength elements(HFSE) showing clearly negative Nb, Ta, and Ti anomalies. REE distribution patterns show a positive anomaly of Eu(δEu = 1.15 to 1.31) and weakly enriched with LREE compared with HREE(LREE/HREE = 1.02 to 4.20). Experimental results and several characteristics, including relatively low Nb/Ta ratios(6.03 to 8.45) and high Sr, Sr/Y,(La/Yb)N and low Y and Yb, which indicate the presence of residual garnet and the absence of plagioclase in the source region, show that adakite may form at a pressure ranging from 1.2 GPa to 1.5 GPa and at a temperature of approximately 900°C. Low Cr, Ni, and Mg# values, trace element patterns, and Si O2–Mg# and Si O2–Mg O diagrams indicate that rocks are formed by the partial melting of a thickened lower continental crust. LA-ICP-MS in situ U-Pb dating yields two group ages: 503.1 ± 1.7 Ma(core) and 453.1 ± 3.0 Ma(rim). The Th/U ratios of the core and the rim are 0.11 to 0.40 and 0.03 to 0.07, respectively. | 3 | Neoadjuvant immunotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer:State of the art显示文摘Lung cancer mortality has decreased over the past decade and can be partly attributed to advances in targeted therapy and immunotherapy.Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)have rapidly evolved from investigational drugs to standard of care for the treatment ofmetastatic non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).In particular,antibodies that block inhibitory immune checkpoints,such as programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and programmed cell death 1 ligand 1(PD-L1),have revolutionized the treatment of advanced NSCLC,when administered alone or in combination with chemotherapy.Immunotherapy is associated with higher response rates,improved overall survival(OS),and increased tolerability compared with conventional cytotoxic chemotherapy.These benefits may increase the utility of immunotherapy and its combinational use with chemotherapy in the neoadjuvant treatment of patients with NSCLC.Early findings from various ongoing clinical trials suggest that neoadjuvant ICIs alone or combined with chemotherapy may significantly reduce systemic recurrence and improve long-term OS or cure rates in resectable NSCLC.Here we further summarize the safety and efficacy of various neoadjuvant treatment regimens including immunotherapy from ongoing clinical trials and elaborate the role of neoadjuvant immunotherapy in patients with resectable NSCLC.In addition,we discuss several unresolved challenges,including the evaluations to assess neoadjuvant immunotherapy response,the role of adjuvant treatment after neoadjuvant immunotherapy,the efficacy of treatment for oncogenic-addicted tumors,and predictive biomarkers.We also provide our perspective on ways to overcome current obstacles and establish neoadjuvant immunotherapy as a standard of care. | Jin Kang Chao Zhang Wen-Zhao Zhong | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,4: | 14 |

| 6 | Effect of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Treatment on Prognosis of Patients with Advanced Gastric Cancer:a Retrospective Study显示文摘Objective To evaluate the prognostic effects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) in patients with local advanced gastric cancer. Methods We retrospectively analyzed prognosis in 191 patients with advanced gastric cancer, of whom 71 were treated with NAC and 120 received surgery only between February 2007 and July 2013. Postoperative complication rate was recorded. Survival by clinicopathological features, pathological T and N stages, and histopathological tumor regression was retrospectively compared between the two groups. Results According to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors, none of the 71 patients in the NAC followed by surgery group showed complete response, 36 showed partial response, 25 had stable disease, and 10 had progressive disease. The chemotherapy response rate was 50.7%; the disease control rate was 85.9%. Grade 3/4 adverse events were seen in less than 20% patients, with acceptable toxicities. No difference was found in the overall postoperative complication rates between the two groups(7 versus 22 cases, P=0.18). Median survival time was significantly different, at 54 months in the NAC combined with surgery group and 25 months in the surgery-only group(P=0.025). | 7 | A bibliometric analysis of exertional heat stroke research in Web of Science显示文摘Background:Exertional heat stroke is a fatal condition and remains a health problem.This paper evaluates the publication trend regarding exertional heat stroke research between 1996 and 2015 using a bibliometric method.Methods:Articles regarding exertional heat stroke research published between 1996 and December 2015 were searched for in the SCI-EXPANDED database of Web of Science.The search results were analyzed with regard to publication year;publication quantity regarding countries/regions;authors;citation frequency;and journal distribution.Cite Space(v3.6) was used for a document co-citation visualization analysis.Results:In total,289 publications on heat stroke were located.After selection,209 original articles conducted across 28 countries/regions and published in 83 journals were included in the analysis.The USA,Isreal,and France were the most common locations for exertional heat stroke studies.The Cite Space visualization cluster analysis showed that exertional heat stroke-related mortality and protective measures were constant concerns of research.Conclusion:Research related to exertional heat stroke has been continuous concerned.USA is still the leading country in this field. | Zhi Mao Chao Liu Shuo Chen Zheng-Guo Zhu Hong-Jun Kang Fei-Hu Zhou | 2016 | Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2016,31,4: | 9 |
| 8 | Variation in cis-regulation of a NAC transcription factor contributes to drought tolerance in wheat显示文摘Drought is a major environmental factor limiting wheat production worldwide,and developing drought-tolerant cultivars is a central challenge for wheat breeders globally.Therefore,it is important to identify genetic components determining drought tolerance in wheat.In this study,we identified a wheat NAC gene(TaNAC071-A)that is tightly associated with drought tolerance by a genome-wide association study.Knockdown of TaNAC071-A in wheat attenuated plant drought tolerance,whereas its overexpression significantly enhanced drought tolerance through improved water-use efficiency and increased expression of stress-responsive genes.This heightened water-saving mechanism mitigated the yield loss caused by water deficit.Further candidate gene association analysis showed that a 108-bp insertion in the promoter of TaNAC071-A alters its expression level and contributes to variation in drought tolerance among wheat accessions.This insertion contains two MYB cis-regulatory elements(CREs)that can be directly bound by the MYB transcription activator,TaMYBL1,thereby leading to increased TaNAC071-A expression and plant drought tolerance.Importantly,introgression of this 108-bp insertion allele,TaNAC071-AIn-693,into drought-sensitive cultivars could improve their drought tolerance,demonstrating that it is a valuable genetic resource for wheat breeding.Taken together,our findings highlight a major breakthrough in determining the genetic basis underlying phenotypic variation in wheat drought tolerance and showcase the potential of exploiting CRE-containing indels for improving important agronomical traits. | Hude Mao Shumin Li Bin Chen Chao Jian Fangming Mei Yifang Zhang Fangfang Li Nan Chen Tian Li Linying Du Li Ding Zhongxue Wang Xinxiu Cheng Xiaojing Wang Zhensheng Kang | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,2: | 9 |

| 12 | Interleukin-21 gene polymorphisms and chronic hepatitis B infection in a Chinese population显示文摘AIM: To investigate the relationship between inter-leukin-21(IL21) gene polymorphisms and chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection in a Chinese population.METHODS: In this case-control study, 366 Chinese HBV-infected patients were recruited and divided into hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC; n = 94) and non-HCC(n = 272) groups at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, from April 2009 to December 2012.In the non-HCC group, the patients were classified into three clinical subsets, 76 patients had chronic hepatitis B, 101 were HBV carriers and 95 patients had HBV-related cirrhosis.Two hundred eight unrelated healthy controls were also included.Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood.Single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) rs13143866, rs2221903, and rs907715 were subsequently genotyped using the SNaP shot SNP technique.RESULTS: There were no significant differences in allele and genotype frequencies of SNPs rs13143866, rs2221903, and rs907715 between chronic HBVinfected patients and control subjects.Furthermore, no significant differences were found in the frequencies of all alleles and genotypes between the HCC group and the non-HCC group.However, in the subgroup analysis, IL21 rs13143866 genotype AA frequency in the HBV carrier group was higher than in controls(OR = 6.280, 95%CI: 1.238-31.854; P = 0.019), and the effect of the recessive model(AA vs GG + GA, OR = 6.505, 95%CI: 1.289-32.828) was observed in the HBV carrier group.IL21 rs2221903 genotype TC frequency in the HBV carrier group was higher than in controls(OR = 1.809, 95%CI: 1.043-3.139; P = 0.035).In the haplotype analysis, the ATA haplotype(rs13143866, rs2221903, and rs907715) of IL21 was more frequent in the HCC group than in the non-HCC group(0.165 vs 0.104, P = 0.044; OR = 1.700, 95%CI: 1.010-2.863).CONCLUSION: Genotypes rs13143866 AA and rs2221903 TC are risk factors for carrying HBV; ATA haplotype increases the risk of HBV-related HCC onsetin a Chinese population. | Jia-Yan Yao Kang Chao Min-Rui Li Yan-Qing Wu Bi-Hui Zhong | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,14: | 7 |
| 13 | Panax notoginseng saponin attenuates hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced oxidative stress in cortical neurons显示文摘The present study monitored the effect of 2, 10, and 50 mg/L of Panax notoginseng saponin exposure following hypoxia-reoxygenation injury in fetal rat cortical neurons. Results showed that varying doses of Panax notoginseng saponin significantly enhanced the cell viability of neurons, reduced malondialdehyde content, increased superoxide dismutase activity, inhibited mRNA and protein expression of inducible and neuronal nitric oxide synthase, and decreased the release of nitric oxide in hypoxia/reoxygenation injured cells. In particular, 50 mg/L of Panax notoginseng saponin was the most effective dose. | 14 | Adjuvant Effects of Fermented Red Ginseng Extract on Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients Treated with Chemotherapy显示文摘Objective: To investigate the adjuvant therapeutic effects of fermented red ginseng(FRG) extract on non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients treated with chemotherapy. Methods: A total of 60 patients with advanced NSCLC were assigned to two groups using a random number table, i.e., the gemcitabine plus cisplatin(GP) chemotherapy alone group(26 patients) and the FRG + GP chemotherapy group(34 patients), for 60-day treatment. Patients were then assessed according to the Fatigue Symptom Inventory, Chinese medicine symptoms score, Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, Self-Rating Depression Scale, Karnofsky Performance Status Scale, and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Lung. In addition, chemotherapy toxicity and tumor biomarkers were measured. Results: For NSCLC patients after chemotherapy, FRG extract significantly improved the FSI score, CM symptoms score, psychological status, physical conditions, and quality of life and reduced chemotherapy toxicity(P<0.01), but the expression levels of carcinoembryonic antigen, cytokeratin-19 fragments, and neuron-specific enolase were not significantly different between the chemotherapy alone and the FRG + chemotherapy groups or between pre-and post-treatments(P>0.05). Conclusions: This study demonstrated that FRG extract had an adjuvant effect on advanced NSCLC patients treated with chemotherapy. | 15 | MiR-30b suppresses tumor migration and invasion by targeting EIF5A2 in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To elucidate the potential biological role of mi R-30 b in gastric cancer and investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms of mi R-30 b to inhibit metastasis of gastric cancer cells.METHODS: The expression of mi R-30 b was detected in gastric cancer cell lines and samples by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. CCK-8 assays were conducted to explore the impact of mi R-30 b overexpression on the proliferation of gastric cancer cells. Flow cytometry was used to examine the effect of mi R-30 b on the apoptosis. Transwell test was used for the migration and invasion assays. Luciferase reporter assays and Western blot were employed to validate regulation of putative target of mi R-30 b.RESULTS: The results showed that mi R-30 b was downregulated in gastric cancer tissues and cancer cell lines and functioned as a tumor suppressor. Overexpression of mi R-30 b promoted cell apoptosis,and suppressed proliferation,migration and invasion of the gastric cancer cell lines AGS and MGC803. Bioinformatic analysis identified the 3'-untranslated region of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A2(EIF5A2) as a putative binding site of mi R-30 b. Luciferase reporter assays and Western blot analysis confirmed the EIF5A2 gene as a target of mi R-30 b. | 16 | Dual-lens beam compression for optical coupling in superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors显示文摘The optical coupling of superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors(SNSPDs) has always been restricted to a single-mode fiber for a limited detection area. In this study, for enhancing photon coupling, a dual-lens system operating at 2.2 K was used to compress the beam size on the basis of the Gaussian beam theory and geometric approximation. A magnification of approximately 0.3 was obtained, and a focused spot with diameter of approximately 10 lm was measured from a multimode fiber. Assisted with the compressed beam, a system efficiency of 55 %(1550 nm) was achieved for a SNSPD with a detection area of 10 lm 9 10 lm and 62.5 lm multimode fiber coupling. At the same time, a high speed of106 MHz was measured with the proposed system. | 17 | Relationships between Landslide Types and Topographic Attributes in a Loess Catchment,China显示文摘Topographic attributes have been identified as the most important factor in controlling the initiation and distribution of shallow landslides triggered by rainfall.As a result,these landslides influence the evolution of local surface topography.In this research,an area of 2.6 km 2 loess catchment in the Huachi County was selected as the study area locating in the Chinese Loess Plateau.The landslides inventory and landslide types were mapped using global position system(GPS) and field mapping.The landslide inventory shows that these shallow landslides involve different movement types including slide,creep and fall.Meanwhile,main topographic attributes were generated based on a high resolution digital terrain model(5 m × 5 m),including aspect,slope shape,elevation,slope angle and contributing area.These maps were overlaid with the spatial distributions of total landslides and each type of landslides in a geographic information system(GIS),respectively,to assess their spatial frequency distributions and relative failure potentials related to these selected topographic attributes.The spatial analysis results revealed that there is a close relation between the topographic attributes of the postlandsliding local surface and the types of landslide movement.Meanwhile,the types of landslide movement have some obvious differences in local topographic attributes,which can influence the relative failure potential of different types of landslides.These results have practical significance to mitigate natural hazard and understandgeomorphologic process in thick loess area. | ZHANG Fanyu CHEN Wenwu LIU Gao LIANG Shouyun KANG Chao HE Faguo | 2012 | Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,6: | 6 |
| 18 | A macroscopic multi-mechanism based constitutive model for the thermo-mechanical cyclic degeneration of shape memory effect of NiTi shape memory alloy显示文摘A macroscopic based multi-mechanism constitutive model is constructed in the framework of irreversible thermodynamics to describe the degeneration of shape memory effect occurring in the thermo-mechanical cyclic deformation of NiTi shape memory alloys(SMAs). Three phases,austenite A, twinned martensite Mtand detwinned martensite M^d, as well as the phase transitions occurring between each pair of phases( A → M^t, M^t→ A, A → M^d,M^d→ A, and M^t→ M^d) are considered in the proposed model. Meanwhile, two kinds of inelastic deformation mechanisms, martensite transformation-induced plasticity and reorientation-induced plasticity, are used to explain the degeneration of shape memory effects of NiTi SMAs. The evolution equations of internal variables are proposed by attributing the degeneration of shape memory effect to the interaction between the three phases(A, M^t, and M^d) and plastic deformation. Finally, the capability of the proposed model is verified by comparing the predictions with the experimental results of NiTi SMAs. | 19 | Apolipoprotein C3(-455T>C) polymorphism confers susceptibility to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in the Southern Han Chinese population显示文摘AIM:To investigate the relationship between Apolipoprotein C3(APOC3)(-455T>C) polymorphism and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in the Southern Chinese han population.METHODS:In this prospective case-control study,we recruited 300 NAFLD patients and 300 healthy controls to a cohort representing Southern Chinese han population at The First Affiliated Hospital,Sun Yat-sen University,from January to December 2012. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism and DNA sequencing were used to genotype the APOC3(-455T>C) variants.RESULTS:After adjusting for age,gender,and bodymass index,TC and CC genotypes were found to increase the susceptibility to NAFLD compared to the TT genotype,with adjusted odds ratios(ORs) of 1.77(95%CI:1.16-2.72) and 2.80(95%CI:1.64-4.79),respectively. Further stratification analysis indicated that carriers of the CC genotype was more susceptible to insulin resistance(IR) than those of the TT genotype,with an OR of 3.24(95%CI:1.52-6.92). The CC genotype also was associated with a significantly higher risk of hypertension,hypertriglyceridemia,and low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(hDL)(P < 0.05).
