1Modified Dachengqi Tang improves decreased gastrointestinal motility in postoperative esophageal cancer patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical effects of modified Dachengqi Tang(DCQT) on promoting gastrointestinal motility in post-operative esophageal cancer patients.METHODS:Sixty postoperative esophageal cancer patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to the modified treatment group or the control group(30 patients in each group).Patients in the treatment group were given DCQT made from decocted herbs and administered via nasojejunal tube at a dosage of 150 mL.Gastrointestinal motility was assessed by recording time for recovery of bowel sounds,flatus,defecation,and the total amount of gastric drainage during the first three postoperative days.Plasma motilin(MTL) and vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) were measured one hour before and three days after surgery.RESULTS:Compared with the control group,the times to first bowel sound,flatus,and defecation were significantly shorter and there was less gastric drainage in the treatment group(P < 0.01,P < 0.01,P < 0.01,and P < 0.05,respectively).In the treatment group,postoperative plasma MTL was significantly higher(P < 0.01) and VIP was significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).There was no difference found in either MTL or VIP from before to after operation in the treatment group(P > 0.05).MTL was significantly lower and VIP was higher postoperatively in the control group,compared to before surgery(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:Modified DCQT effectively improved decreased gastrointestinal motility in postoperative esophageal cancer patients by increasing MTL and reducing VIP.Xu Zejun Xu Cuiping Ge Hongxia Li Yan Chu Liangliang Zhang Jie Cheng Kelin 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,3:5

5A new approximating method for Holstein model显示文摘A new approach-the method of coherent state orthogonal expansion is developed for one-dimensional Holstein model. In zeroth order approximation, the formula of ground state energy is deduced analytically and the solutions in strong- and weak-coupling limits are obtained correctly. When the trial wave-function of ground state is expanded to the second order, the obtained ground state energy agrees quite well with that calculated by numerical method in all coupling regimes. 6Circulating Lipoproteins Mediate the Association Between Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Cognitive Decline:A Community‑Based Cohort Study显示文摘Cardiovascular health metrics are now widely recognized as modifable risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia.Metabolic perturbations might play roles in the linkage of cardiovascular diseases and dementia.Circulating metabolites profling by metabolomics may improve understanding of the potential mechanism by which cardiovascular risk factors contribute to cognitive decline.In a prospective community-based cohort in China(n=725),312 serum metabolic phenotypes were quantifed,and cardiovascular health score was calculated including smoking,exercise,sleep,diet,body mass index,blood pressure,and blood glucose.Cognitive function assessments were conducted in baseline and follow-up visits to identify longitudinal cognitive decline.A better cardiovascular health was signifcantly associated with lower risk of concentration decline and orientation decline(hazard ratio(HR):0.84–0.90;p<0.05).Apolipoprotein-A1,high-density lipoprotein(HDL)cholesterol,cholesterol ester,and phospholipid concentrations were signifcantly associated with a lower risk of longitudinal memory and orientation decline(p<0.05 and adjusted-p<0.20).Mediation analysis suggested that the negative association between health status and the risk of orientation decline was partly mediated by cholesterol ester and total lipids in HDL-2 and-3(proportion of mediation:7.68–8.21%,both p<0.05).Cardiovascular risk factors were associated with greater risks of cognitive decline,which were found to be mediated by circulating lipoproteins,particularly the medium-size HDL components.These fndings underscore the potential of utilizing lipoproteins as targets for early stage dementia screening and intervention.Jialin Li Qingxia Huang Yingzhe Wang Mei Cui Kelin Xu Chen Suo Zhenqiu Liu Yanpeng An Li Jin Huiru Tang Xingdong Chen Yanfeng Jiang 2024Phenomics2024,4,1:0
7Topological feature engineering for machine learning based halide perovskite materials design显示文摘Accelerated materials development with machine learning(ML)assisted screening and high throughput experimentation for new photovoltaic materials holds the key to addressing our grand energy challenges.Data-driven ML is envisaged as a decisive enabler for new perovskite materials discovery.However,its full potential can be severely curtailed by poorly represented molecular descriptors(or fingerprints).Optimal descriptors are essential for establishing effective mathematical representations of quantitative structure-property relationships.Here we reveal that our persistent functions(PFs)based learning models offer significant accuracy advantages over traditional descriptor based models in organic-inorganic halide perovskite(OIHP)materials design and have similar performance as deep learning models.Our multiscale simplicial complex approach not only provides a more precise representation for OIHP structures and underlying interactions,but also has better transferability to ML models.Our results demonstrate that advanced geometrical and topological invariants are highly efficient feature engineering approaches that can markedly improve the performance of learning models for molecular data analysis.Further,new structure-property relationships can be established between our invariants and bandgaps.We anticipate that our molecular representations and featurization models will transcend the limitations of conventional approaches and lead to breakthroughs in perovskite materials design and discovery.D.Vijay Anand Qiang Xu JunJie Wee Kelin Xia Tze Chien Sum 2022npj Computational Materials2022,,1:0
8Features of the polaron ground state in one-dimensional Holstein model显示文摘Applying the method of coherent state orthogonal expansion, we expand the trial wave functions of ground state to the third order. We find that the ground state energy of the system decreases with the increase of expansion orders. Especially, at the zeroth order approximation, the probability distribution of the electron at different sites exhibits a soliton peak. 9Electroacupuncture Alleviates HIF1-α-mediated Early Mitophagy in Spinal Cord Injury显示文摘Background:The inhibitory microenvironment around spinal cord injury(SCI)severely restricted functional repair after injury.Mitophagy was one of the important measures to maintain cellular homeostasis and ensure the harmonious nerve cell microenvironment.Hypoxia-inducible factor1α(HIF1-α)can mediate mitochondrial autophagy in neurodegenerative diseases,but the mechanisms are complex and diverse,which need to be further elucidated.Electroacupuncture plays a significant role in improving the neural microenvironment after spinal cord injury,promote long-term neurological function recovery in SCI patients,but whether electroacupuncture can participate in HIF1-α mediated mitophagy remains unknown.Objective:Investigated the effects of HIF1-α on mitochondrial autophagy in rats with spinal cord contusion and the potential mechanism of electroacupuncture.Methods:Following the successful construction of an SCI model of Sprague-Dawley rat utilizing a modified Allen method,electroacupuncture intervention was performed at T9 and T11 Jiaji acupoint(EX-B2),with further molecular biology and morphology examined by perfusion.To observe the effect of HIF1-α on local damage repair,the stereotypic injection of Hif1a knockdown virus was performed,and the changes of mitophagy in damaged local area was detected employing Western blotting,real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR,immunofluorescence,transmission electron microscopy and Nissl staining.Results:HIF1-α as well as its mitophagy receptor BNIP3 and NIX are upregulated after spinal cord injury.Elec-troacupuncture treatment or local inhibition of HIF1-α expression can reverse the early autophagy state after spinal cord injury,reduce cell apoptosis and injury area,promote neuronal survival.Conclusion:Electroacupuncture may serve as a promising strategy for spinal cord injury treatment,by alleviating HIF1-α mediated early mitochondrial autophagy.Rong Hu Xingying Wu Kelin He Mengting Shi Haipeng Xu Yi Chen Bowen Chen Lei Wu Ruijie Ma Kang Liang 2024Clinical Complementary Medicine and Pharmacology2024,4,1:0
