3Simulation of three-dimensional cohesive sediment transport in Hangzhou Bay,China显示文摘Sediment transport in the Hangzhou Bay is extremely complicated due to its bathymetry and hydrodynamic conditions.The ECOMSED model is employed to simulate three-dimensional(3-D) cohesive sediment transport in Hangzhou Bay.Dynamical factors such as Coriolis force,tides,salinity,river discharges,and waves are considered in the model.The wave parameters,including the significant wave height,period,and direction,are calculated with the SWAN model.The Grant-Madsen model is introduced for the bed shear stress due to the combined effect of waves and currents.The formulation of bed shear stress used to calculate the sink/source terms is modified based on previous research that sufficiently validated the formulation with measurement data.The integrated model of the above-mentioned models is applied to simulate sediment transport in Hangzhou Bay.The results of the simulation agree well with field observations concerning the distribution of suspended sediment,indicating that the sediments are remarkably suspended in Hangzhou Bay under the action of waves and currents.DU Panjun DING Pingxing HU Kelin 2010Acta Oceanologica Sinica2010,29,2:11
4Spatial Heterogeneity of Soil Mineral Oxide Components in Depression Between Karst Hills,Southwest China显示文摘In karst regions,the spatial heterogeneity of soil mineral oxides and environmental variables is still not clear.We investigated the spatial heterogeneity of SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3,CaO,MgO,P2O5,K2O,and MnO contents in the soils of slope land,plantation forest,secondary forest,and primary forest,as well as their relationships with environmental variables in a karst region of Southwest China.Geostatistics,principal component analysis(PCA),and canonical correlation analysis(CCA)were applied to analyze the field data.The results show that SiO2was the predominant mineral in the soils(45.02%–67.33%),followed by Al2O3and Fe2O3.Most soil mineral oxide components had a strong spatial dependence,except for CaO,MgO,and P2O5in the plantation forest,MgO and P2O5in the secondary forest,and CaO in the slope land.Dimensionality reduction in PCA was not appropriate due to the strong spatial heterogeneity in the ecosystems.Soil mineral oxide components,the main factors in all ecosystems,had greater influences on vegetation than those of conventional soil properties.There were close relationships between soil mineral oxide components and vegetation,topography,and conventional soil properties.Mineral oxide components affected species diversity,organic matter and nitrogen levels.DU Hu WANG Kelin PENG Wanxia ZENG Fuping SONG Tongqing ZHANG Hao LU Shiyang 2014Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,2:9
5Analytical validation of GMEX rapid point- of care CYP2C19 genotyping system for the CHANCE-2 trial显示文摘Background and purpose Rapid genotyping is useful for guiding early antiplatelet therapy in patients with high-risk nondisabling ischaemic cerebrovascular events(HR-NICE).Conventional genetic testing methods used in CYP2C19 genotype-guided antiplatelet therapy for patients with HR-NICE did not satisfy the needs of the Clopidogrel in High-Risk Patients with Acute Nondisabling Cerebrovascular Events(CHANCE)-2 trial.Therefore,we developed the rapid-genotyping GMEX(point-of care)system to meet the needs of the CHANCE-2 trial.Methods Healthy individuals and patients with history of cardiovascular diseases(n=408)were enrolled from six centres of the CHANCE-2 trial.We compared the laboratory-based genomic test results with Sanger sequencing test results for accuracy verification.Next,we demonstrated the accuracy,timeliness and clinical operability of the GMEX system compared with laboratory-based technology(YZY Kit)to verify whether the GMEX system satisfies the needs of the CHANCE-2 trial.Results Genotypes reported by the GMEX system showed 100%agreement with those determined by using the YZY Kit and Sanger sequencing for all three CYP2C19 alleles(*2,*3 and*17)tested.The average result’s turnaround times for the GMEX and YZY Kit methods were 85.0(IQR:85.0-86.0)and 1630.0(IQR:354.0-7594.0)min(p<0.001),respectively.Conclusions Our data suggest that the GMEX system is a reliable and feasible point-of care system for rapid CYP2C19 genotyping for the CHANCE-2 trial or related clinical and research applications.Xia Meng Anxin Wang Guojun Zhang Siying Niu Wei Li Sifei Han Fang Fang Xingquan Zhao Kehui Dong Zening Jin Huaguang Zheng Kelin Chen Hao Li Chengyuan Yang Yongjun Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,2:7
6Responses of Spatial-temporal Variation of Karst Ecosystem Service Values to Landscape Pattern in Northwest of Guangxi,China显示文摘The responses of spatiotemporal variation of ecosystem service values (ESVs) to landscape pattern from 1985 to 2005 in a typical Karst area of the northwest Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,China,were examined us-ing remote sensing and geographic information system techniques in this paper.The total ecosystem service values de-clined significantly from 1985 to 1990,and then increased slowly from 1990 to 2005,almost equaled to the 1985 level.The ecosystem service values tended to decline from the west to the east and from mountainous regions to peak-cluster depression areas in 1985,1990,2000 and 2005 respectively.During the period from 1985 to 2005,the ecosystem ser-vice values have increased in the middle and eastern parts of the study area.Landscape pattern indices,such as total area,largest patch index,contagion,aggregative index,effective mesh and proportion of like adjacencies,are significantly correlated with ecosystem service values.This suggests that ecosystem service values tend to increase with the growth of patch area and patch connectivity.However,there are negative correlations between ecosystem service values and landscape pattern indices,such as division index and patch richness.It indicates that ecosystem service values decrease with patch fragmentation and patch size shrinkage.The ecosystem conditions in the typical Karst area have been improved because of the control measures of rocky desertification.It is important to protect key landscape types,such as woodland,shrub and grassland,and to increase patch size and connectivity to avoid further fragmentation.Furthermore,it is necessary to reduce disturbances to ensure the growth of ecosystem service values and to facilitate the sustainable development in this region.ZHANG Mingyang WANG Kelin LIU Huiyu ZHANG Chunhua 2011Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,4:6

8Modified Dachengqi Tang improves decreased gastrointestinal motility in postoperative esophageal cancer patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical effects of modified Dachengqi Tang(DCQT) on promoting gastrointestinal motility in post-operative esophageal cancer patients.METHODS:Sixty postoperative esophageal cancer patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to the modified treatment group or the control group(30 patients in each group).Patients in the treatment group were given DCQT made from decocted herbs and administered via nasojejunal tube at a dosage of 150 mL.Gastrointestinal motility was assessed by recording time for recovery of bowel sounds,flatus,defecation,and the total amount of gastric drainage during the first three postoperative days.Plasma motilin(MTL) and vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) were measured one hour before and three days after surgery.RESULTS:Compared with the control group,the times to first bowel sound,flatus,and defecation were significantly shorter and there was less gastric drainage in the treatment group(P < 0.01,P < 0.01,P < 0.01,and P < 0.05,respectively).In the treatment group,postoperative plasma MTL was significantly higher(P < 0.01) and VIP was significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).There was no difference found in either MTL or VIP from before to after operation in the treatment group(P > 0.05).MTL was significantly lower and VIP was higher postoperatively in the control group,compared to before surgery(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:Modified DCQT effectively improved decreased gastrointestinal motility in postoperative esophageal cancer patients by increasing MTL and reducing VIP.Xu Zejun Xu Cuiping Ge Hongxia Li Yan Chu Liangliang Zhang Jie Cheng Kelin 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,3:5

11Mercury transportation in soil via using gypsum from flue gas desulfurization unit in coal-fired power plant显示文摘The mercury flux in soils was investigated, which were amended by gypsums from flue gas desulphurization (FGD) units of coal- fired power plants. Studies have been carried out in confined greenhouses using FGD gypsum treated soils. Major research focus is uptakes of mercury by plants, and emission of mercury into the atmosphere under varying application rates of FGD gypsum, simulating rainfall irrigations, soils, and plants types. Higher FGD gypsum application rates generally led to higher mercury concentrations in the soils, the increased mercury emissions into the atmosphere, and the increased mercury contents in plants (especially in roots and leaves). Soil properties and plant species can play important roles in mercury transports. Some plants, such as tall fescue, were able to prevent mercury from atmospheric emission and infiltration in the soil. Mercury concentration in the stem of plants was found to be increased and then leveled off upon increasing FGD gypsum application. However, mercury in roots and leaves was generally increased upon increasing FGD gypsum application rates. 12Estimation of soil respiration in a paddy ecosystem in the subtropical region of China显示文摘Water vapor, energy exchange, and CO2 flux were measured continuously from 2003 to 2005 using the eddy covariance technique in a paddy ecosystem in the subtropical region of China. The CO2 fluxes at nighttime during fallow periods (from middle October to late April) were used to analyze the dynamics of soil respiration and its relationship with soil temperature, and to simulate the annual dynamics of soil respiration in paddy ecosystems. The variation of soil respiration showed a clear seasonal pattern. The soil respiration rates at night during the fallow periods were 52―398 mg·m-2·h-1, and exponen- tially correlated (P<0.001) with soil temperatures at different depths of soil (5, 10, and 20 cm), particularly the temperature measured at a depth of 5 cm. Based on the simulated exponential equations developed, annual average soil respiration rates and total soil respiration of paddy soil in the subtropical region of China were estimated to be 178.5―259.9 mg·m-2·h-1 and 1.56―2.28 kg·m-2·a-1, respectively. 14Event-triggered cooperative target tracking in wireless sensor networks显示文摘Since the issues of low communication bandwidth supply and limited battery capacity are very crucial for wireless sensor networks, this paper focuses on the problem of eventtriggered cooperative target tracking based on set-membership information filtering. We study some fundamental properties of the set-membership information filter with multiple sensor measurements. First, a sufficient condition is derived for the set-membership information filter, under which the boundedness of the outer ellipsoidal approximation set of the estimation means is guaranteed.Second, the equivalence property between the parallel and sequential versions of the setmembership information filter is presented. Finally, the results are applied to a 1D eventtriggered target tracking scenario in which the negative information is exploited in the sense that the measurements that do not satisfy the triggering conditions are modelled as set-membership measurements. 15DNNGP, a deep neural network-based method for genomic prediction using multi-omics data in plants显示文摘Genomic prediction is an effective way to accelerate the rate of agronomic trait improvement in plants.Traditional methods typically use linear regression models with clear assumptions;such methods are unable to capture the complex relationships between genotypes and phenotypes.Non-linear models(e.g.,deep neural networks)have been proposed as a superior alternative to linear models because they can capture complex non-additive effects.Here we introduce a deep learning(DL)method,deep neural network genomic prediction(DNNGP),for integration of multi-omics data in plants.We trained DNNGP on four datasets and compared its performance with methods built with five classic models:genomic best linear unbiased prediction(GBLUP);two methods based on a machine learning(ML)framework,light gradient boosting machine(LightGBM)and support vector regression(SVR);and two methods based on a DL framework,deep learning genomic selection(DeepGS)and deep learning genome-wide association study(DLGWAS).DNNGP is novel in five ways.First,it can be applied to a variety of omics data to predict phenotypes.Second,the multilayered hierarchical structure of DNNGP dynamically learns features from raw data,avoiding overfitting and improving the convergence rate using a batch normalization layer and early stopping and rectified linear activation(rectified linear unit)functions.Third,when small datasets were used,DNNGP produced results that are competitive with results from the other five methods,showing greater prediction accuracy than the other methods when large-scale breeding data were used.Fourth,the computation time required by DNNGP was comparable with that of commonly used methods,up to 10 times faster than DeepGS.Fifth,hyperparameters can easily be batch tuned on a local machine.Compared with GBLUP,LightGBM,SVR,DeepGS and DLGWAS,DNNGP is superior to these existing widely used genomic selection(GS)methods.Moreover,DNNGP can generate robust assessments from diverse datasets,including omics data,and quickly incorporate complex and large datasets into usable models,making it a promising and practical approach for straightforward integration into existing GS platforms.Kelin Wang Muhammad Ali Abid Awais Rasheed Jose Crossa Sarah Hearne Huihui Li 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,1:3

18Bottom Simulating Reflector and Gas Seepage in Okinawa Trough:Evidence of Gas Hydrate in an Active Back-Arc Basin显示文摘To look for gas hydrate,22 multi-channel and 3 single-channel seismic lines on the East China Sea (ECS) shelf slope and at the bottom of the Okinawa Trough were examined. It was found that there was indeed bottom simulating reflector (BSR) occurrence,but it is very rare. Besides several BSRs,a gas seepage was also found. As shown by the data,both the BSR and gas seepage are all related with local geological structures,such as mud diapir,anticline,and fault-controlled graben-like structure. However,similar structural 'anomalies' are quite common in the tectonically very active Okinawa Trough region,but very few of them have developed BSR or gas seepage. The article points out that the main reason is probably the low concentration of organic carbon of the sediment in this area. It was speculated that the rare occurrence of gas hydrates in this region is governed by structure-controlled fluid flow. Numerous faults and fractures form a network of high-permeability channels in the sediment and highly fractured igneous basement to allow fluid circulation and ventilation. Fluid flow in this tectonic environment is driven primarily by thermal buoyancy and takes place on a wide range of spatial scales.
