| 1 | SHRIMP U-Pb zircon age of tuff from the Kunyang Group in central Yunnan:Evidence for Grenvillian orogeny in South China显示文摘Whether or not Grenvillian orogeny occurred in South China still remains highly controversial because high-quality,discriminating data are lacking,and therefore,the key to resolve this matter is to find datable volcanic and/or sedimentary rocks related to Grenvillian orogeny. Such rocks are apparently present in the Fuliangpeng Member from the lower-middle part of Kunyang Group in central Yunnan; here the unit is more than 100 m thick and consists of andesitic ignimbrite,tuffite,terrigeous clastic rocks and carbonates. These volcanic rocks,developed south of the Sibao fold-thrust belts,represent the earliest calc-alkaline volcanic activity in late Precambrian time from central Yunnan and are coeval with both a change in sedimentary facies from detritus to carbonates and the beginning of seismite development elsewhere. Two samples for SHRIMP analysis were collected from this volcanic unit. Sample G3-29-2,from the bottom of Fuliangpeng Member,is an ignimbrite,and about 100 zircon crys-tals recovered from it have euhedral shapes and display relatively simple sector zonation under cathodoluminescent (CL) imaging,suggesting a magmatogenic origin. Twenty-five of the zircons were analyzed and a weighed-mean U-Pb age of 1032±9 Ma was obtained. Sample G3-29-3 from uppermost part of Fuliangpeng Member is a tuffite,and many rounded,evidently detrital zircons were recovered. Nine of these zircons were analyzed,and the oldest single-grain U-Pb zircon age is 1938±26 Ma,im-plying that Paleoproterozoic basement developed in Cathaysia. Here, an Os CIPK7 mutant via TILLING procedure with a point mutation in the kinase domain showed increased chilling tolerance, which could be potentially used in the molecular breeding. | 3 | Geographical genetic diversity and divergence of common wild rice (O. rufipogon Griff.) in China显示文摘Using 36 SSR markers and 889 accessions of common wild rice in China, the genetic diversity and the divergence among different geographical populations are investigated. Guangdong Province has the largest number of alleles, which account for 84% of the total alleles detected in the study, followed by Guangxi Province. The Nei's gene diversity indices, from high to low, are in the sequence of Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Yunnan provinces. Two genetic diversity centers of Chinese common wild rice are detected on the basis of geographic analysis, i.e., the region covering Boluo, Zijin, Lufeng, Haifeng, Huidong and Huiyang counties of Guangdong Province and the region covering Yongning, Longan, Laibin and Guigang counties of Guangxi Province. The common wild rice in Yunnan, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Fujian provinces are diverged into respectively independent populations with relatively large genetic distances, whereas, those in Hainan, Guangdong and Guangxi provinces have relatively low genetic divergence. | 4 | THE GENETIC DIVERSITY OF GAOZHOU WILD RICE ANALYZED BY SSR显示文摘The genetic diversity of total 240 acces- sions of common wild rice coming from Gaozhou, Shaoguan, Zhanjiang, and other places in Guang- dong, and Jiangxi, Fujian, Yunnan provinces, etc. in China and South-eastern Asia was evaluated by us- ing 24 pairs of SSR primers. The results indicated that: (i) there were 17 polymorphic loci in 24 pairs of SSR primers, and the average percentage of poly- morphic loci was 69%; the average total number of alleles, the average number of alleles per locus and the average number of alleles per polymorphic loci were 51.1, 2.04 and 2.43, respectively; (ii) the aver- age gene diversity was 0.8447. There were remark- able differentiations among 5 populations of Gaozhou wild rice. All the above-mentioned genetic parame- ters indicated that Gaozhou wild rice of Pengshan Village (or Bei Toudong) of Zhenjiang Town should be a center of genetic differentiation and diversity of Gaozhou wild rice. | 5 | A Post-domestication Mutation, Dt2, Triggers Systemic Modification of Divergent and Convergent Pathways Modulating Multiple Agronomic Traits in Soybean显示文摘The semi-determinate stem growth habit in leguminous crops,similar to the“green revolution”semi-dwarf trait in cereals,is a key plant architecture trait that affects several other traits determining grain yield.In soybean semi-determinacy is modulated by a post-domestication gain-of-function mutation in the gene,Dt2,which encodes an MADS-box transcription factor.However,its role in systemic modification of stem growth and other traits is unknown.In this study,we show that Dt2 functions not only as a direct repressor of Dt1,which prevents terminal flowering,but also as a direct activator of putative floral integrator/identity genes including GmSOC1,GmAP1,and GmFUL,which likely promote flowering.We also demonstrate that Dt2 functions as a direct repressor of the putative drought-responsive transcription factor gene GmDREB1D,and as a direct activator of GmSPCH and GmGRP7,which are potentially associated with asymmetric division of young epidermal cells and stomatal opening,respectively,and may affect the plant's water-use efficiency(WUE).Intriguingly,Dt2 was found to be a direct activator or repressor of the precursors of eight microRNAs targeting genes potentially associated with meristem maintenance,flowering time,stomatal density,WUE,and/or stress responses.This study thus reveals the molecular basis of pleiotropy associated with plant productivity,adaptability,and environmental resilience. | Dajian Zhang Xutong Wang Shuo Li Chaofan Wang Michael JGosney Michael VMickelbart Jianxin Ma | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,10: | 4 |

Vacuum ultraviolet excitation and emission spectrum and the energy transfer mechanism between the host and dopants of Tb3+ and Tm3+ were investigated respectively. The emission of Gd3+ at 313 nm was enhanced by the strong absorption of CTS of Tm3+ at 180 nm in GdPO4: Tm. | 13 | Atomically bonding Na anodes with metallized ceramic electrolytes by ultrasound welding for high-energy/power solid-state sodium metal batteries显示文摘A solid-state sodium metal battery has cut a striking figure in next-generation large-scale energy storage technology on account of high safety,high energy density,and low cost.Nevertheless,the large interfacial resistance and sodium dendrite growth originating from the poor interface contact seriously hinder its practical application.Herein,a modified ultrasound welding was proposed to atomically bond Na anodes and Au-metalized Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)PO_(12) electrolytes associated with the in situ formation of Na–Au alloy interlayers.Thereupon,intimate Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)PO_(12)-Au/Na interfaces with a low interfacial resistance(~23Ωcm^(2))and a strong dendrite inhibition ability were constructed.The optimized Na symmetric battery can cycle steadily for more than 900 h at 0.3 mA cm^(-2) under a low overpotential(<50 mV)of Na electroplating/stripping and deliver a high critical current density of 0.8 mAcm^(-2) at room temperature.By incorporating the above interface into the solid-state Na metal battery,taking three-dimensional Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3) as the cathode,the full battery offers a high energy density of 291 Wh kg^(-1) at a high power density of 1860Wkg^(-1).A pouch-type solid-state sodium metal full battery based on a ceramic electrolyte was assembled for the first time,and it lit a 3 V LED lamp.Such a strategy of the ultrasound welding metalized solid-state electrolyte/Na interface by engineering the Na-Au interlayer would pave a new pathway to engineer a low-resistance and highly stable interface for high-energy/density solid-state sodium metal batteries. | Dongchen Li Xinxin Wang Qi Guo Xiaole Yu Shangxu Cen Huirong Ma Jingjing Chen Dajian Wang Zhiyong Mao Chenlong Dong | 2023 | Carbon Energy2023,5,2: | 1 |

| 18 | High expression of BCL6 inhibits the differentiation and development of hematopoietic stem cells and affects the growth and development of chickens显示文摘Background:B-cell CLL/lymphoma 6(BCL6)is a transcriptional master regulator that represses more than 1200 potential target genes.Our previous study showed that a decline in blood production in runting and stunting syndrome(RSS)affected sex-linked dwarf(SLD)chickens compared to SLD chickens.However,the association between BCL6 gene and hematopoietic function remains unknown in chickens.Methods:In this study,we used RSS affected SLD(RSS-SLD)chickens,SLD chickens and normal chickens as research object and overexpression of BCL6 in hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs),to investigate the effect of the BCL6 on differentiation and development of HSCs.Results:The results showed that comparison of RSS-SLD chickens with SLD chickens,the BCL6 was highly expressed in RSS-SLD chickens bone marrow.The bone marrow of RSS-SLD chickens was exhausted and red bone marrow was largely replaced by yellow bone marrow,bone density was reduced,and the levels of immature erythrocytes in peripheral blood were increased.At the same time,the hematopoietic function of HSCs decreased in RSS-SLD chickens,which was manifested by a decrease in the hematopoietic growth factors(HGFs)EPO,SCF,TPO,and IL-3,as well as hemoglobinα1 and hemoglobinβexpression.Moreover,mitochondrial function in the HSCs of RSS-SLD chickens was damaged,including an increase in ROS production,decrease in ATP concentration,and decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential(ΔΨm).The same results were also observed in SLD chickens compared with normal chickens;however,the symptoms were more serious in RSS-SLD chickens.Additionally,after overexpression of the BCL6 in primary HSCs,the secretion of HGFs(EPO,SCF,TPO and IL-3)was inhibited and the expression of hemoglobinα1 and hemoglobinβwas decreased.However,cell proliferation was accelerated,apoptosis was inhibited,and the HSCs entered a cancerous state.The function of mitochondria was also abnormal,ROS production was decreased,and ATP concentration andΔΨm were increased,which was related to the inhibition of apoptosis of stem cells.Conclusions:Taken together,we conclude that the high expression of BCL6 inhibits the differentiation and development of HSCs by affecting mitochondrial function,resulting in impaired growth and development of chickens.Moreover,the abnormal expression of BCL6 might be a cause of the clinical manifestations of chicken comb,pale skin,stunted growth and development,and the tendency to appear RSS in SLD chickens. | Hongmei Li Bowen Hu Shang Hu Wen Luo Donglei Sun Minmin Yang Zhiying Liao Haohui Wei Changbin Zhao Dajian Li Meiqing Shi Qingbin Luo Dexiang Zhang Qinghua Nie Xiquan Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,3: | 0 |
| 19 | Ancestral function but divergent epigenetic regulation of HAIKU2 reveals routes of seed developmental evolution显示文摘Evolution is driven by various mechanisms.A directional increase in the embryo to endosperm ratio is an evolutionary trend within the angiosperms.The endosperm constitutes a major portion of the seed volume in Poales and some dicots.However,in other dicots such as Arabidopsis and soybean,the endosperm proliferates early,followed by embryo growth to replace the endosperm.The Arabidopsis leucine-rich repeat receptor protein kinase AtHAIKU2(AtIKU2)is a key regulator of early endosperm proliferation.In this study,we found that IKU2s from Brachypodium,rice,and soybean can complement the abnormal seed developmental phenotype of Atiku2,while AtIKU2 also rescues the defective endosperm proliferation in the Brachypodium BdIKU2 knockout mutant seeds.AtIKU2 and soybean GmIKU2 are actively expressed a few days after fertilization.Thereafter,expression of AtIKU2 is suppressed by the FIS-PRC2 complex-mediated H3K27me3.The soybean GmIKU2 locus is also enriched with H3K27me3 marks.The histone methyltransferase AtMEA is unique to Brassicaceae,but one GmSWN in soybean plays a similar role in seed development as AtMEA.By contrast,the BdIKU2 and rice OsIKU2 loci are continuously expressed and are devoid of H3K27me3 marks.Taken together,these results suggest that IKU2 genes retain an ancestral function,but the duration of their expression that is controlled by PRC2-mediated epigenetic silencing contributes to silenced or persistent endosperm proliferation in different species.Our study reveals an epigenetic mechanism that drives the development of vastly different seed ontogenies. | Di Wu Yiming Wei Xiangyu Zhao Boka Li Huankai Zhang Gang Xu Juntong Lv Dajian Zhang Xiansheng Zhang Min Ni | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,10: | 0 |
