1China's wetland change (1990-2000) determined by remote sensing显示文摘Two wetland maps for the entire China have been produced based on Landsat data acquired around 1990 and 2000. Wetlands in China have been divided into 3 broad categories with 15 sub-categories except rice fields. In 1990, the total wetland area in China was 355208 km2 whereas in 2000 it dropped to 304849 km2 with a net loss of 50360 km2. During an approximate 10-year period, inland wetland reduced from 318326 to 257922 km2, coastal wetland dropped from 14335 to 12015 km2, while artificial wetland increased from 22546 to 34911 km2. The greatest natural wetland loss occurred in Heilongjiang, Inner Mon- golia, and Jilin with a total loss of over 57000 km2 of wetland. In western China, over 13000 km2 of wetlands were newly formed in Xinjiang, Tibet, and Qinghai. About 12000 km2 of artificial wetlands were also added for fish farm and reservoir constructions. The newly formed wetlands in western China were caused primarily by climate warming over that region whereas the newly created artificial wetlands were caused by economic developments. 2Geographical characteristics of China’s wetlands derived from remotely sensed data显示文摘In this paper, we report the first wetland mapping of the entire China using Landsat enhanced thematic mapper plus (ETM+) data. These data were obtained from the Global Land Cover Facility at the University of Maryland spanning from 1999 to 2002. A total of 597 scenes of Landsat images were georeferenced and mosaiced. Manual image interpretation of satellite images was aided with elevation data, soil data, land cover/land use data and Google Earth. The minimum mapping unit is 10 pixel × 10 pixel, equivalent to 9 ha. The aim of our first round of mapping was only targeted at the boundary delineation of any type of wetland except those wetlands that are under agricultural use (i.e., paddy fields), which has already been well mapped by others. Our interpretation results indicate that a total of 359478 km2 of wetlands are of non-agricultural use. Among our preliminarily mapped wetland, 339353 km2 are inland wetland, 2786 km2 are non-agricultural artificial wetland, and 17609 km2 are coastal wetland. Because low-tide is rarely captured in satellite images, an under-estimation of coastal wetland is inevitable. We conducted some statistics based on our mapped wetlands and compared them with those previously obtained from a number of sources including a land cover/land use map made with satellite images during the late 1990s and early 2000s, a marshland map developed in approximately the same period, survey data of coastal wetland in early 1980s, and area data for approximately 400 larger patches of marshland in China compiled in 1996. Because some inconsistencies exist in the guidelines of those different wetland surveys, difference in area is expected. Some further comparison indicates that the wetland distributions derived from the preliminary wetland map are reasonable and more objective than other sources. The mapping process also indicated that the method adopted by us was efficient and cost-effective. We also found that in order to ensure comparability of the wetland maps developed at different times, a set of standard guidelines on the wetland categories to be mapped, and the mapping methods to be used must be well conceived, developed and effectively employed. 3Soil phosphorus bioavailability assessed by XANES and Hedley sequential fractionation technique in a glacier foreland chronosequence in Gongga Mountain, Southwestern China显示文摘The primary productivity of terrestrial ecosystems is influenced by soil phosphorus bioavailability, which depends largely on chemical fractions of phosphorus. The sequential fractionation technique developed by Hedley et al. or its subsequent modification is a well-known method to determine soil phosphorus forms. Hedley sequential fractionation technique separates the phosphorus into fractions based on their different chemical solubilities in extractants with certain chemical properties. Recently, synchrotron-based X-ray absorption near edge structure(XANES) spectroscopy has been employed to measure soil phosphorus species directly and non-invasively. The XANES method provides information concerning local structure and chemical information of target elements at a molecular level. Thus, it can distinguish phosphorus fractions bound by metal oxides or hydroxides(such as Fe, Al, and Ca). In this present work, the phosphorus speciation of topsoil along a glacial foreland chronosequence in Gongga Mountain is determined using these two methods. The changes in soil phosphorus bioavailability along the 120-year-old chronosequence are assessed based on comparisons of the results obtained by these two methods. The results indicate that Hedley sequential fractionation technique shows a greater ability to determine soil bioavailable phosphorus(Resin-P and NaCHO3-P), while XANES is effective in distinguishing phosphorus bound by metal compounds. In the chronosequence, Ca- and Al-bound phosphorus were derived mainly from primary minerals, whose phosphorus contents decreased within 120 years of moraine weathering and soil development. The content of soil bioavailable phosphorus increased rapidly after 30 years since deglaciation. 5Wing load investigation of the plunge-diving locomotion of a gannet Morus inspired submersible aircraft显示文摘In this paper,we studied the wing root pivot joint’s radial load of a submersible airplane which imitates the locomotion of gannet’s Morus plunge-diving,by implementing a test device name Mimic-Gannet.The housing of the device was designed by mimicking the morphology of a living gannet,and the folding wings were realized by the mechanism of variable swept back wing.Then,the radial loads of the wing root were obtained under the conditions of different dropping heights,different sweptback angles and different water-entry inclination angles(i.e.,the angle between the longitudinal body axis and the water surface),and the relationships between the peak radial load and the above three parameters were analyzed and discussed respectively.In the studied areas,the minimum peak radial load of the pivot joint is 50.93 N,while the maximum reaches up to1135.00 N.The largest peak load would be generated for the situation of vertical water entry and zero wing sweptback angle.And it is of great significance to choose the three parameters properly to reduce the pivot joint’s radial load,i.e.,larger wing sweptback angle,smaller dropping height and water-entry inclination angle.It is also concluded that the peak radial load on the wing root is closely linear with the water-entry dropping height and the wing sweptback angle with a significant correlation.Eventually,the relationship between the wing load and the dropping height,water-entry inclination angle or wing sweptback angle,could be used to calculate the wing load about plunge-diving of a submersible aircraft,and the conclusions reveal the wing load characteristic of the gannet’s plunge process for the biologists.LIANG JianHong YAO GuoCai WANG TianMiao YANG XingBang ZHAO WenDi SONG Gang ZHANG YuCheng 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,2:5
6On the thrust performance of an ionic polymer-metal composite actuated robotic fish: Modeling and experimental investigation显示文摘In this paper, we theoretically predict and experimentally measure the thrust efficiency of a biomimetic robotic fish, which is propelled by an ionic polymer-metal composite (IPMC) actuator. A physics-based model that consists of IPMC dynamics and hydrodynamics was proposed, and simulation was conducted. In order to test the thrust performance of the robotic fish, a novel experimental apparatus was developed for hydrodynamic experiments. Under a servo towing system, the IPMC fish swam at a self-propelled speed where external force is averagely zero. Experimental results demonstrated that the theoretical model can well predict the thrust efficiency of the robotic fish. A maximum thrust efficiency of 2.3×10 3 at 1 Hz was recorded experimentally, the maximum thrust force was 0.0253 N, recorded at 1.2 Hz, while the maximum speed was 0.021 m/s, recorded at 1.5 Hz, and a peak power of 0.36 W was recorded at 2.6 Hz. Additionally, the optimal actuation frequency for the thrust efficiency was also recorded at the maximum self-propelled speed. 7Hybrid undulatory kinematics of a robotic Mackerel(Scomber scombrus):Theoretical modeling and experimental investigation显示文摘Fishes that use undulatory locomotion occasionally change their inherent kinematics in terms of some natural behavior.This special locomotion pattern was vividly dubbed 'hybrid kinematics' by biologists recently.In this paper,we employed a physical model with body shape of a Mackerel(Scomber scombrus),to use the three most typical undulatory kinematics:anguillform,carangiform and thunniform,to investigate the hydrodynamic performance of the so-called 'hybrid kinematics' biological issue.Theoretical models of both kinematics and hydrodynamics of the physical model swimming were developed.Base on this model,the instantaneous force produced by fish undulatory body and flapping tail were calculated separately.We also quantitatively measured the hydrodynamic variables of the robotic model swimming with the three undulatory kinematics on an experimental apparatus.The results of both theoretical model and experiment showed that the robot with thunniform kinematics not only reaches a higher speed but also is more efficient during steady swimming mode.However,anguilliform kinematics won the speed race during the initial acceleration.Additionally,the digital particle image velocimetry(DPIV) results showed some difference of the wake flow generated by the robotic swimmer among the three undulatory kinematics.Our findings may possibly shed light on the motion control of a biomimetic robotic fish and provide certain evidence of why the 'hybrid kinematics' exists within the typical undulatory locomotion patterns.WEN Li WANG TianMiao WU GuanHao LIANG JianHong 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,10:4
8Regional Characteristics of Typhoon-Induced Ocean Eddies in the East China Sea显示文摘The asymmetrical structure of typhoon-induced ocean eddies(TIOEs) in the East China Sea(including the Yellow Sea)and the accompanying air–sea interaction are studied using reanalysis products. Thirteen TIOEs are analyzed and divided into three groups with the k-prototype method: Group A with typhoons passing through the central Yellow Sea; Group B with typhoons re-entering the sea from the western Yellow Sea after landing on continental China; and Group C with typhoons occurring across the eastern Yellow Sea near to the Korean Peninsula. The study region is divided into three zones(Zones Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ) according to water depth and the Kuroshio position. The TIOEs in Group A are the strongest and could reverse part of the Kuroshio stream, while TIOEs in the other two groups are easily deformed by topography. The strong currents of the TIOEs impact on the latent heat flux distribution and upward transport, which facilitates the typhoon development. The strong divergence within the TIOEs favors an upwelling-induced cooling. A typical TIOE analysis shows that the intensity of the upwelling of TIOEs is proportional to the water depth, but its magnitude is weaker than the upwelling induced by the topography. In Zones Ⅰ and Ⅱ, the vertical dimensions of TIOEs and their strong currents are much less than the water depths.In shallow water Zone Ⅲ, a reversed circulation appears in the lower layer. 9LncRNA HOTAIR promotes endometrial fibrosis by activating TGF-β1/Smad pathway显示文摘Homeobox transcript antisense RNA(HOTAIR)is a long non-coding RNA associated with a number of fibrosis-related diseases.The aim of this study was to investigate the specific role of HOTAIR in the development of endometrial fibrosis and to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying this process.Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)was used to determine the expression levels of HOTAIR in samples of intrauterine adhesion(lUA)tissue and in endometrial stromal cells(ESCs)that had been treated with transforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1).Additionally,we transfected ESCs with either overexpression plasmid(pcDNA-HOTAIR)or silencing construct(si-HOTAIR)and then treated these cells with TGF-β1.We then performed RTqPCR and western blot analysis,along with cell proliferation and apoptosis assays,to investigate the effects of HOTAIR on the transdifferentiation of ESCs into myofibroblasts.The results showed that the expression levels of HOTAIR were significantly elevated in IUA tissue and in ESCs that had been treated with TGF-β1.The overexpression of HOTAIR had a pro-fibrotic effect on ESCs,while the silencing of HOTAIR exerted an anti-fibrotic effect.Most importantiy,the protein expression levels of p-Smad2 and p-Smad3 were significantly upregulated in TGF-β1.treated ESCs transfected with pcDNA-HOTAIR and were downregulated after transfection with si-HOTAIR constructs.These data indicate that HOTAIR promotes endometrial fibrosis by activating the TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway,suggesting that the inhibition of HOTAIR may represent a promising therapeutic option for suppressing endometrial fibrosis.Jianhong Wu Lingge Jin Yudi Zhang Aihong Duan Juhong Liu Ziwen Jiang Liang Huang Jing Chen Zhaohui Liu Dan Lu Yinmei Dai 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,12:3

11Damage and fracture mechanism of 6063 aluminum alloy under three kinds of stress states显示文摘To study the damage and fracture mechanism of 6063 aluminum alloy under different stress states,three kinds of representative triaxial stress states have been adopted,namely smooth tensile,notch tensile,and pure shear.The results of the study indicate the following.During the notch tensile test,a relatively higher stress triaxiality appears in the root of the notch.With the applied loading increasing,the volume fraction of microvoids in the root of the notch increases continuously.When it reaches the critical volume fraction of microvoids,the specimen fractures.During the pure shear test,the stress triaxiality almost equals to zero,and there is almost no microvoids but a shear band at the center of the butterfly specimen.The shear band results from nonuniform deformation constantly under the shear stress.With stress concentration,cracks are produced within the shear band and are later coalesced.When the equivalent plastic strain reaches the critical value(equivalent plastic fracture strain),the butterfly specimen fractures.During the smooth tensile test,the stress triaxiality in the gauge of the specimen remains constant at 0.33.Thus,the volume of microvoids of the smooth tensile test is less than that of the notch tensile test and the smooth specimen fractures due to shearing between microvoids.The G-T-N damage model and Johnson-Cook model are used to simulate the notch tensile and shear test,respectively.The simulated engineering stress-strain curves fit the measured engineering stress-strain curves very well.In addition,the empirical damage evolution equation for the notch specimen is obtained from the experimental data and FEM simulations.ZHU Hao ZHU Liang CHEN Jianhong 2008Rare Metals2008,27,1:2
12Power transformer fault diagnosis considering data imbalance and data set fusion显示文摘Improving the accuracy of transformer dissolved gas analysis is always an important demand for power companies.However,the requirement for large numbers of fault samples becomes an obstacle to this demand.This article creatively uses a large number of health data,which is much easier to obtain by power companies,to improve diagnosis accuracy.Comprehensive investigations from the view of both data set and methodology to deal with this problem are presented.A data set consists of 9595 health samples and 993 fault samples is used for analysis.The characteristics of the data set and the influence of the health data on diagnostic accuracy are discussed.The performance of many state‐of‐art algorithms that handle the imbalanced prob-lem is evaluated.Meanwhile,an efficient fault diagnosis algorithm named self‐paced ensemble(SPE)is presented.In SPE,classification hardness is proposed to include the data characteristic in the classification.This method can guarantee the diversity of the data set and keep high performance.According to the experiment results,the superior of SPE is confirmed and also proves that involving more health samples can improve transformer diagnosis when fault data are limited.Yang Zhang Hong Cai Chen Yaping Du Min Chen Jie Liang Jianhong Li Xiqing Fan Xin Yao 2021High Voltage2021,6,3:1

16A cerium-doped NASICON chemically coupled poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene)-based polymer electrolyte for high-rate and high-voltage quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries显示文摘The isolated inorganic particles within composite polymer electrolytes(CPEs) are not correlated to the Li^(+)transfer network,resulting in the polymer dominating the low ionic conductivity of CPEs.Therefore,we developed novel quasi-solid-state CPEs of a Ce-doped Na super ion conductors(NASICON)Na_(1.3+x)Al_(0.3)Ce_(x)Ti_(1.7-x)(PO_(4))_(3)(NCATP) chemically coupled poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP)/Li-bis(trifluoromethanes-ulfonyl)imide(LiTFSI) matrix.A strong interaction between Ce^(3+)from NCATP and TFSI-anion from the polymer matrix contributes to the fast Li+transportation at the interface.The PVDF-HFP/NCATP CPEs exhibit an ionic conductivity of 2.16 × 0^(-3) S cm^(-1) and a Li^(+) transference number of 0.88.A symmetric Li/Li cell with NCATP-integrated CPEs at 0.1 mA cm^(-2) presents outstanding cycling stability over 2000 h at 25℃.The quasi-solid-state Li metal batteries of Li/CPEs/LiFePO_(4) at 2 C after 400 cycles and Li/CPEs/LiCoO_(2) at 0.2 C after 120 cycles deliver capacities of 100 and 152 mAh g^(-1) at 25℃,respectively.Tao Huang Wei Xiong Xue Ye Zhencheng Huang Yuqing Feng Jianneng Liang Shenghua Ye Jishou Piao Xinzhong Wang Yongliang Li Xiangzhong Ren Chao Chen Shaoluan Huang Xiaoping Ouyang Qianling Zhang Jianhong Liu 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,10:1

20Introduction to China’s Earthquake Emergency Response System显示文摘Following the M_(S)6.4 earthquake that occurred on May 21,2021 in Yangbi,Yunnan,China,the earthquake emergency response system(EERS)responded immediately.The real-time software delivered many seismic parameters that provided a preliminary assessment of the earthquake.The 24-hour on-duty staff and scientific researchers revised these parameters and produced more detailed reports to understand the cause of the earthquake and the potential damage,which provided valuable information for emergency rescue operations and earthquake situation assessment.Emergency personnel were dispatched immedia-tely to the earthquake site to observe the aftershocks,investigate the damage,and guide and assist in the relief efforts.This paper describes the EERS response to the Yangbi earthquake to demonstrate the characteristics of the system and discuss the potential for further improvement.Jianhong Liang Nan Xi Jie Liu Jingqiong Yang Hongbo Shi Zhigao Yang 2021Earthquake Science2021,34,5:0
