| 1 | Deep structure beneath the southwestern section of the Longmenshan fault zone and seimogenetic context of the 4.20 Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake显示文摘Magnetotelluric measurements were carried out along two profiles across the middle and southwestern sections of the Longmenshan fault zone(LMSf)from 2009 to 2011,after the 2008 Wenchuan MW7.9 earthquake.The former profile crosses the Wenchuan event epicenter and the latter one crosses 2013 Lushan MS7.0 event epicenter.The data were analyzed using advanced processing techniques,including phase tensor and two-dimensional inversion methods,in order to obtain reliable 2-D profiles of the electrical structure in the vicinity of the two earthquakes.A comparison of the two profiles indicates both similarities and differences in the deep crustal structure of the LMSf.West of the southwestern section,a crustal high conductivity layer(HCL)is present at about 10 km depth below the Songpan-Garzêblock;this is about 10 km shallower than that under the middle section of the LMSf.A high resistivity body(HRB)is observed beneath the southwestern section,extending from the near surface to the top of upper mantle.It has a smaller size than the HRB observed below the middle section.In the middle section,there is a local area of decreased resistivity within the HRB but there is absence of this area.The 2013 Lushan earthquake occurred close to the eastern boundary of HRB and the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault,of which the seismogenic context has both common and different features in comparison with the 2008 Wenchuan event.On a large scale,the 2013 Lushan earthquake is associated with the HCL and deformation in the crust including HCL of the eastern Tibetan Plateau.In order to assess seismic risk,it is important to consider both the stress state and the detailed crustal structure in different parts of the LMSf. | ZHAN Yan ZHAO GuoZe UNSWORTH Martyn WANG LiFeng CHEN XiaoBin LI Tao XIAO QiBin WANG JiJun TANG Ji CAI JunTao WANG YanZhao | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28: | 39 |
| 2 | Grey matter volume abnormalities in patients with bipolar I depressive disorder and unipolar depressive disorder:a voxelbased morphometry study显示文摘Bipolar disorder and unipolar depressive disorder(UD) may be different in brain structure. In the present study,we performed voxel-based morphometry(VBM) to quantify the grey matter volumes in 23 patients with bipolar I depressive disorder(BP1) and 23 patients with UD,and 23 age-,gender-,and educationmatched healthy controls(HCs) using magnetic resonance imaging. We found that compared with the HC and UD groups,the BP1 group showed reduced grey matter volumes in the right inferior frontal gyrus and middle cingulate gyrus,while the UD group showed reduced volume in the right inferior frontal gyrus compared to HCs. In addition,correlation analyses revealed that the grey matter volumes of these regions were negatively correlated with the Hamilton depression rating scores. | 3 | In-plane elastic stability of fixed parabolic shallow arches显示文摘The nonlinear behavior of fixed parabolic shallow arches subjected to a vertical uniform load is inves- tigated to evaluate the in-plane buckling load. The virtual work principle method is used to establish the non-linear equilibrium and buckling equations. Analytical solutions for the non-linear in-plane sym- metric snap-through and antisymmetric bifurcation buckling loads are obtained. Based on the least square method, an approximation for the symmetric buckling load of fixed parabolic arch is proposed to simplify the solution process. And the relation between modified slenderness and buckling modes are discussed. Comparisons with the results of finite element analysis demonstrate that the solutions are accurate. A cable-arch structure is presented to improve the in-plane stability of parabolic arches. | 4 | Advances in alternating electromagnetic field data processing for earthquake monitoring in China显示文摘The alternating electromagnetic(EM) field is one of the most sensitive physical fields related to earthquakes. There have been a number of publications reporting EM anomalies associated with earthquakes. With increasing applications and research of artificial-source extremely low frequency EM and satellite EM technologies in earthquake studies, the amount of observed data from the alternating EM method increases rapidly and exponentially, so it is imperative to develop suitable and effective methods for processing and analyzing the influx of big data. This paper presents research on the self-adaptive filter and wavelet techniques and their applications to analyzing EM data obtained from ground measurements and satellite observations, respectively. Analysis results show that the self-adaptive filter method can identify both natural- and artificial-source EM signals, and enhance the ratio between signal and noise of EM field spectra, apparent resistivity, and others. The wavelet analysis is capable of detecting possible correlation between EM anomalies and seismic events. | 5 | Deep electrical structure of the Sulu orogen and neighboring areas显示文摘Because of the discovery of ultrahigh pressure metamorphic (UHPM) belt beneath the Sulu (Jiangsu Province-Shandong Province) orogen, this area has become a focused subject of current geoscience, as it has a close relationship with the evolution of the orogen and the neighboring North China craton. Probing the deep structure beneath this area would be of great significance for the geological inter- pretation of this issue. In this study, we make an analysis of magnetotelluric (MT) data along a profile across the Sulu orogen to provide evidence of deep structure below this region. The profile begins in west from the North China block, extending in S129oE, across the Tan-Lu fault, Sulu UHPM zone, and Sulu high pressure metamorphic (HPM) zone, and terminates in the Yangtze block in east. We use the nonlinear conjugate gradient method and TE-TM combined mode to perform inversion and interpreta- tion of the MT data, and obtain an electrical structure image above depth of 150 km along the profile. It shows that the structure can be divided into seven sections in lateral direction, between which the electric boundaries coincide well with the major faults, such as the Tan-Lu, Haizhou-Siyang, and Ji- ashan-Xiangshui faults. In vertical direction the electrical structure can be subdivided into six layers of different resistivities. It is noted that there exist high-conductivity areas in crust below the North China block and Yangtze block, while such a feature is not present beneath the Sulu orogen, which is very different from the Dabie orogen. It is also observed that a fairly continuous zone of relatively low-resistivity exists at depths of 50-90 km of the electrical structure image, which is presumably a weak zone in the uppermost mantle. Just below this low-resistivity zone are the relatively high- resis- tivity layer of the North China block, relatively low-resistivity layer of the Sulu orogen, and relatively high-resistivity layer of the Yangtze block, all in the shallow upper mantle, respectively. | 6 | Compact and broadband multimode waveguide bend by shape-optimizing with transformation optics显示文摘Multimode waveguide bend is one of the key components for realizing high-density mode-division multiplexing systems on chip.However,the reported multimode waveguide bends are either large,bandwidth-limited or fabrication-complicated,which hinders their applications in future high-density multimode photonic circuits.Here we propose a compact multimode waveguide bend supporting four TE modes simply by shape-optimizing with transformation optics.The shape of the waveguide is optimized in the virtual space with gradient distribution of the refractive index,so that the scattering loss and intermode cross talk are well suppressed.After conformal mapping back into the physical space,a compact(effective radius of 17μm)multimode bending waveguide is obtained.Simulations show that the proposed multimode waveguide bend has little loss(<0.1 dB)and low cross talk(<−20 dB)throughout an ultrabroad wavelength range of 1.16–1.66μm.We also fabricated the shape-optimized multimode bending waveguide on a silicon-on-insulator wafer.At 1550 nm wavelength,the measured excess losses for the four lowest-order TE modes are less than 0.6 dB,and the intermode cross talks are all below−17 dB.Our study paves the way for realizing high-density and large-scale multimode integrated optical circuits for optical interconnect. | SHUYI LI LIFENG CAI DINGSHAN GAO JIANJI DONG JIN HOU CHUNYONG YANG SHAOPING CHEN XINLIANG ZHANG | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,12: | 3 |
| 7 | Enhancing phosphorus uptake efficiency through QTL-based selection for root system architecture in maize显示文摘Root system architecture(RSA) plays an important role in phosphorus(P) acquisition,but enhancing P use efficiency(PUE) in maize via genetic manipulation of RSA has not yet been reported.Here,using a maize recombinant inbred line(RIL) population,we investigated the genetic relationships between PUE and RSA,and developed P-efficient lines by selection of quantitative trait loci(QTLs) that coincide for both traits.In low-P(LP) fields,P uptake efficiency(Pup E) was more closely correlated with PUE(r =0.48-0.54),and RSA in hydroponics was significantly related to Pup E(r=0.25-0.30) but not to P utilization efficiency(Put E).QTL analysis detected a chromosome region where two QTLs for PUE,three for Pup E and three for RSA were assigned into two QTL clusters,Cl-bin3.04 a and Cl-bin3.04 b.These QTLs had favorable effects from alleles derived from the large-rooted and high-Pup E parent.Marker-assisted selection(MAS) identified nine advanced backcross-derived lines carrying Cl-bin3.04 a or Cl-bin3.04 b that displayed mean increases of 22%e26% in PUE in LP fields.Furthermore,a line L224 pyramiding Clbin3.04 a and Cl-bin3.04 b showed enhanced Pup E,relying mainly on changes in root morphology,rather than root physiology,under both hydroponic and field conditions.These results highlight the physiological and genetic contributions of RSA to maize Pup E,and provide a successful study case of developing P-efficient crops through QTL-based selection. | Riliang Gu Fanjun Chen Lizhi Long Hongguang Cai Zhigang Liu Jiabo Yang Lifeng Wang Huiyong Li Junhui Li Wenxin Liu Guohua Mi Fusuo Zhang Lixing Yuan | 2016 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2016,43,11: | 3 |

| 10 | Geochronology of the Dong Tso Ophiolite and the Tectonic Environment显示文摘The wedge shaped Dong Tso ophiolitic block is distributed near the transition point from the western to the middle sub–belt of the Bangong–Nujiang suture zone.The ophiolite is characterized by well–developed cumulate rocks that are mainly composed of cumulate and massive gabbros.In the cumulate gabbros,the adcumulate amphiboles are distributed extensively around the plagioclase and residual pyroxene grains;hence,the rocks are named adcumulate amphibole–gabbro.In this study,the formation age of the ophiolite has been estimated to be 166±4 million years(Ma)by the sensitive high–resolution ion microprobe(SHRIMP)II U–Pb isotopic analysis of the zircons from the adcumulate amphibole–gabbro;the40Ar/39Ar plateau age was estimated to be 148.19±1.53 Ma,which should represent the emplacement time of the ophiolite,by isotopic dating of the pure amphibole mineral from the amphibole–schist.Two different suits of volcanic lavas have been recognized in this work.The purple colored pillow basalts have high TiO2and P2O5contents,and are rich in light rare earth elements(LREEs),large–ion lithospheric elements(LILEs)and high–field–strength elements(HFSEs),the characteristics that are the typical of the oceanic island basalt(OIB).On the other hand,other massive basaltic andesites of celadon color are poor in MgO;rich in Fe2O3,LREEs,LILEs,and HFSEs;and especially characterized by negative Nb and Ta anomalies,the properties that establish the andesites as continental arc volcanic rocks.It is concluded that hotspots had developed in the old Dong Tso basin,the oceanic basin that had been developing from middle Jurassic(166 Ma)or even before and emplaced northward in late Jurassic(about 148 Ma). | LI Jianfeng XIA Bin XIA Lianze XU Lifeng LIU Weiliang CAI Zhourong YANG Zhiqing | 2013 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,6: | 2 |

Despite that taste cells utilize a variety of sen- sory mechanisms to translate plenty of gustatory sensations such as sour, sweet, bitter, salty and umami into cellular sig- nals, gustatory perception mechanisms are still under explo- ration due to the lack of effective methods on cellular and molecular level. Recently the development of molecular bio- logical and electrophysiological studies has promoted explo- ration of olfactory and gustatory transduction and coding mechanisms dramatically. Based on the studies of artificial olfaction, artificial taste and cell-based biosensor in our laboratory, this paper reviews the current research on taste transduction mechanism. | 12 | Fluid Flow Behavior of Liquid in Cylindrical Vessels Stirred by One or Two Air Jets显示文摘Based on the two-phase model (Eulerian-Eulerian model), the three dimensional fluid flow in water and that liquid steel systems stirred by one or two multiple gas jets are simulated. In the Eulerian-Eulerian two-phase model, the gas and the liquid phase are considered to be two different continuous fluids interacting with each other through the finite inter-phase areas. The exchange between the phases is represented by source terms in conversation equations. Turbulence is assumed to be a property of the liquid phase. A new turbulence modification - model is introduced to consider the bubbles movement contribution to and . The dispersion of phases due to turbulence is represented by introducing a diffusion term in mass conservation equation. The mathematical simulation agrees well with the experiment results. The study results indicate that the distance of two nozzles has big effect on fluid flow behavior in the vessel.
