| 1 | Enhancement of transfection efficiency for HeLa cells via incorporating arginine moiety into chitosan显示文摘Arginine-rich peptides have attracted considerable attention due to their distinct internalization mechanism. It was reported that arginine and guanidino moieties were able to translocate through cell membranes and played a critical role in the process of membrane permeation. In this work, arginine was conjugated to the backbone of chitosan to form a novel chitosan derivative, arginine modified chitosan (Arg-CS). Arg-CS/DNA complexes were prepared according to the method of coacervation process. The physicochemical properties of Arg-CS and Arg-CS/DNA complexes were characterized and the transfection activity and efficiency mediated by Arg-CS/DNA complexes were investigated taking HeLa cells as target cells. Arg-CS was characterized by FTIR and 13C NMR. Arg-CS/DNA polye- lectrolyte complexes were investigated by agarose gel retardation, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results revealed that the Arg-CS/DNA complexes started to form at N/P ratio of 2:1, and the size of particles varied from 100 to 180 nm. The cytotoxicity of Arg-CS and their complexes with plasmid DNA were determined by MTT assay for HeLa cells, and the results suggested that Arg-CS/DNA complexes were slightly less toxic than Arg-CS. Moreover, the derivative alone and their complexes showed significantly lower toxicity than PEI and PEI/DNA complexes, respectively. Taking HeLa cells as target cells and using pGL3-control as reporter gene, the luciferase expression mediated by Arg-CS was greatly enhanced to about 100 folds compared with the luciferase expression mediated by chitosan at different pH media. | 2 | Achieving a high energy storage density in Ag(Nb,Ta)O_(3) antiferroelectric films via nanograin engineering显示文摘Due to its lead-free composition and a unique double polarization hysteresis loop with a large maximum polarization(Pmax)and a small remnant polarization(Pr),AgNbO_(3)-based antiferroelectrics(AFEs)have attracted extensive research interest for electric energy storage applications.However,a low dielectric breakdown field(Eb)limits an energy density and its further development.In this work,a highly efficient method was proposed to fabricate high-energy-density Ag(Nb,Ta)O_(3) capacitor films on Si substrates,using a two-step process combining radio frequency(RF)-magnetron sputtering at 450℃and post-deposition rapid thermal annealing(RTA).The RTA process at 700℃led to sufficient crystallization of nanograins in the film,hindering their lateral growth by employing short annealing time of 5 min.The obtained Ag(Nb,Ta)O_(3) films showed an average grain size(D)of~14 nm(obtained by Debye-Scherrer formula)and a slender room temperature(RT)polarization-electric field(P-E)loop(Pr≈3.8 mC·cm^(−2) and P_(max)≈38 mC·cm^(−2) under an electric field of~3.3 MV·cm^(−1)),the P-E loop corresponding to a high recoverable energy density(W_(rec))of~46.4 J·cm^(−3) and an energy efficiency(η)of~80.3%.Additionally,by analyzing temperature-dependent dielectric property of the film,a significant downshift of the diffused phase transition temperature(T_(M2-M3))was revealed,which indicated the existence of a stable relaxor-like AFE phase near the RT.The downshift of the T_(M2-M3) could be attributed to a nanograin size and residual tensile strain of the film,and it led to excellent temperature stability(20-240℃)of the energy storage performance of the film.Our results indicate that the Ag(Nb,Ta)O_(3) film is a promising candidate for electrical energy storage applications. | Hongbo CHENG Xiao ZHAI Jun OUYANG Limei ZHENG Nengneng LUO Jinpeng LIU Hanfei ZHU Yingying WANG Lanxia HAO Kun WANG | 2023 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,1: | 1 |

| 5 | Comorbidities of scars in China:a national study based on hospitalized cases显示文摘Background:Scar comorbidities seriously affect the physical and mental health of patients,but few studies have reported the exact epidemiological characteristics of scar comorbidities in China.This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of scar comorbidities in China.Methods:The data of 177,586 scar cases between 2013 and 2018 were obtained from the Hospital Quality Monitoring System based on the 10th edition of the International Classification of Diseases coding system.The total distribution of scar comorbidities and their relationship with age,aetiology and body regions were analysed.Results:Six comorbidities(contracture,malformation,ocular complications,adhesion,infection and others)were the main focus.In general,male patients outnumbered females and urban areas outnumbered rural areas.The proportion of contractures was the highest at 59,028(33.24%).Students,workers and farmers made up the majority of the occupation.Han Chinese accounted for the majority of the ethnic.The highest proportion of scar contracture occurred at 1–1.9 years of age(58.97%),after which a significant downward trend was observed.However,starting from 50 years of age,ocular complications increased gradually and significantly,eventually reaching a peak of 34.49%in those aged>80 years.Scar contracture was the most common comorbidity according to aetiology,and the highest proportion was observed in patients who were scalded(29.33%).Contractures were also the most frequent comorbidity in hands(10.30%),lower limbs(6.97%),feet(6.80%)and upper limbs(6.02%).The mean and median hospitalization durations were 12.85 and 8 days,respectively.Conclusions:Contractures were the most common comorbidities,and different comorbidities tended to occur at different ages and with different causative factors. | Weishi Kong Yongqiang Xiao Baoli Wang Zhe Zhu Lunyang Hu Hongtai Tang Kangan Wang He Fang Ying Shi Jianyan Long Lanxia Gan Haibo Wang Yu Sun Zhaofan Xia | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 0 |
