Modeling study of regional severe hazes over mid-eastern China in January 2013 and its implications on pollution prevention and control显示文摘The Nested Air Quality Prediction Model System(NAQPMS)was used to investigate the temporal and spatial variations of PM2.5over tropospheric central eastern China in January 2013.The impact of regional transport and its implications on pollution prevention and control were also examined.Comparison between simulated and observed PM2.5showed NAQPMS was able to reproduce the evolution of PM2.5during heavy haze episodes. The results indicated that regional transport of PM2.5played an important role in regional haze episodes in the city cluster including Hebei,Beijing and Tianjin(HBT).The cross-city clusters transport outside HBT and transport among cities inside HBT contributed 20%–35%and 26%–35%of PM2.5as compared with local emission,in HBT respectively. To meet the Air Quality Standards for Grade II,90%,90%and65%of emissions would have to be cut down in Hebei,Tianjin and Beijing,if non-control strategy was taken in the surrounding city clusters of HBT.This implicated that control of emissions in one city cluster is not sufficient to reduce regional haze events, and joint efforts among city clusters are essential.Besides regional transports,two-way feedback between boundary-layer evolution and PM2.5also significantly contributed to the formation of heavy hazes, which contributed 30%of monthly average PM2.5concentration in HBT. | WANG ZiFa LI Jie WANG Zhe YANG WenYi TANG Xiao GE BaoZhu YAN PinZhong ZHU LiLi CHEN XueShun CHEN HuanSheng WAND Wei LI JianJun LIU Bing WANG XiaoYan WAND Wei ZHAO YiLin LU Ning SU DeBin | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,1: | 106
Towards 6G wireless communication networks:vision, enabling technologies, and new paradigm shifts显示文摘The fifth generation(5G)wireless communication networks are being deployed worldwide from 2020 and more capabilities are in the process of being standardized, such as mass connectivity,ultra-reliability,and guaranteed low latency.However,5G will not meet all requirements of the future in 2030 and beyond, and sixth generation(6G)wireless communication networks are expected to provide global coverage, enhanced spectral/energy/cost efficiency, better intelligence level and security, etc. To meet these requirements,6G networks will rely on new enabling technologies,i.e.,air interface and transmission technologies and novel network architecture, such as waveform design, multiple access, channel coding schemes,multi-antenna technologies, network slicing,cell-free architecture, and cloud/fog/edge computing. Our vision on 6G is that it will have four new paradigm shifts.First,to satisfy the requirement of global coverage,6G will not be limited to terrestrial communication networks, which will need to be complemented with non-terrestrial networks such as satellite and unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)communication networks, thus achieving a space-airground-sea integrated communication network.Second, all spectra will be fully explored to further increase data rates and connection density, including the sub-6GHz,millimeter wave(mmWave),terahertz(THz),and optical frequency bands.Third, facing the big datasets generated by the use of extremely heterogeneous networks, diverse communication scenarios, large numbers of antennas, wide bandwidths, and new service requirements,6G networks will enable a new range of smart applications with the aid of artificial intelligence(AI)and big data technologies.Fourth, network security will have to be strengthened when developing 6G networks. This article provides a comprehensive survey of recent advances and future trends in these four aspects.Clearly,6G with additional technical requirements beyond those of 5G will enable faster and further communications to the extent that the boundary between physical and cyber worlds disappears. | Xiaohu YOU Cheng-Xiang WANG Jie HUANG Xiqi GAO Zaichen ZHANG Mao WANG Yongming HUANG Chuan ZHANG Yanxiang JIANG Jiaheng WANG Min ZHU Bin SHENG Dongming WANG Zhiwen PAN Pengcheng ZHU Yang YANG Zening LIU Ping ZHANG Xiaofeng TAO Shaoqian LI Zhi CHEN Xinying MA Chih-Lin I Shuangfeng HAN Ke LI Chengkang PAN Zhimin ZHENG Lajos HANZO Xuemin(Sherman)SHEN Yingjie Jay GUO Zhiguo DING Harald HAAS Wen TONG Peiying ZHU Ganghua YANG Jun WANG Erik GLARSSON Hien Quoc NGO Wei HONG Haiming WANG Debin HOU Jixin CHEN Zhe CHEN Zhangcheng HAO Geoffrey Ye LI Rahim TAFAZOLLI Yue GAO HVincent POOR Gerhard P.FETTWEIS Ying-Chang LIANG | 2021 | Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,1: | 122

Application of nonlinear chemical fingerprinting to identification, evaluation and clinical use of Glycyrrhiza显示文摘Nonlinear chemical fingerprinting is a new technique for analyzing traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs). We developed such a method and applied it to Glycyrrhiza, a significant TCM. Nonlinear chemical fingerprints were obtained for Glycyrrhiza from four different production areas, and for 14 other TCMs with similar induction time. The calculation of their similarities was based on similarity system theory. Using intuitive visual comparison of the data and the similarity calculation results, Glycyrrhiza was discriminated from the 14 other TCMs. There was a linear relationship between the content of active TCM components and the induction time. This was used to compare the content of active components in Glycyrrhiza from the four different production areas, and establish an equivalent-dose relationship for these four samples. This method provides a new tool for discrimination and evaluation of Glycyrrhiza, and a dosage reference for clinical application of Glycyrrhiza from the four regions studied. | FANG XuanQi ZHANG TaiMing ZHAO Zhe XIANG FengQin LIANG YiZeng WANG Mei ZHU Rong CHEN Su QIAO JunXi | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,26: | 20
Epidemiological study: Correlation between diet habits and constipation among elderly in Beijing region显示文摘AIM To investigate correlations between diet and prevalence of constipation among elderly people in Beijing.METHODS A total of 2776(≥ 60 years) were selected in Beijing region for investigation. Data regarding constipation and diet habits was collected via hierarchical status, segmentation and random cluster sampling. Investigation included constipation-related demographic indicators and diet habits. Door-to-door questionnaires and surveys included daily staple food intakes, frequency of fish, egg, fruits and vegetables consumption. Constipation was defined according to the China Chronic Constipation Diagnosis and Treatment Guideline(2013), with the following constipation judgment indicators: decreased defecation frequency, dry and hard stool, and difficulty in defecation.RESULTS The prevalence of constipation among elderly people in Beijing region was 13%. There was a positive correlation between prevalence of constipation and age, but negative correlations between prevalence of constipation and staple food, fish and dietary fibres(fruits and vegetables) intakes. These differences were all statistically significant.CONCLUSION The prevalence of elderly constipation in Beijing region is closely related to diet habits, and is significantly decreased by high staple foods intake, fish eating and high dietary fibres(fruits and vegetables) consumption. | Xiao-Jiao Yang Mei Zhang Hong-Ming Zhu Zhe Tang Dan-Dan Zhao Bang-Yi Li Amanda Gabriel | 2016 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2016,22,39: | 19
Synthesis and characterization of an environmentally friendly PHBV/PEG copolymer network as a phase change material显示文摘Novel environmentally friendly poly(hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PHBV/PEG) copolymer networks were synthesized through free-radical solution polymerization with PHBV diacrylate (PHBVDA) and polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) as macromers. The molecular structure of PHBV/PEG copolymer network was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H NMR). The morphology of the PHBV/PEG copolymer network was characterized by polarization optical microscopy. Thermal energy storage properties, thermal reliability and thermal stability were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis. The results indicated that the PHBV/PEG copolymer network hindered the growth of PEG crystalline segments or PHBV segments. PHBV/PEG copolymer network had a higher latent heat enthalpy, which didn't reduce with the components of PHBV increased. Moreover, PHBV/PEG copolymer network still had good thermal stability even at 300 ℃. These results suggested that such environmentally friendly copolymer network would have wide applications in phase change energy storage materials. | XIANG HengXue WANG ShiChao WANG RenLin ZHOU Zhe PENG Cheng ZHU MeiFang | 2013 | Science China Chemistry2013,56,6: | 18

Determining method, conditional factors, traits and applications of nonlinear chemical fingerprint by using dissipative components in samples显示文摘The thermodynamic systems and dynamic model suitable for determining the nonlinear chemical fingerprints of samples were analyzed. The results indicated that the damp nonlinear chemical reactions in close systems away from the equilibrium and open systems without the complementarity of the dissipation substances have important significance for the throng characterization and whole content analysis of chemical components in samples.Various factors influencing on nonlinear chemical fingerprint, such as reactant species and their concentrations, electrode types, temperature, stir rate, the sort, dosage and granularity of the sample, etc.were amply researched by a nonlinear chemistry reaction, namely, damp B-Z oscillation which used acetone and glucose as the main dissipative substances. In addition, the quantitative information on the whole of chemical components in samples and the traits and applications of the fingerprint were investigated. The method and its important conditions for determining nonlinear chemistry fingerprint used in distinguishing and evaluating complex samples were successfully put forward. | ZHANG TaiMing ZHAO Zhe FANG XuanQi QIAO JunXi XIANG FengQin ZHU Rong LIANG YiZeng DING Feng | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,2: | 16
Characteristic dysbiosis of gut microbiota of Chinese patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome by an insight into the pan-microbiome显示文摘Background:Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)is reported associated with the alteration of gut microbial composition termed as dysbiosis. However, the pathogenic mechanism of IBS remains unclear, while the studies of Chinese individuals are scarce. This study aimed to understand the concept of dysbiosis among patients with Chinese diarrhea-predominant IBS(IBS-D),as a degree of variance between the gut microbiomes of IBS-D population and that of a healthy population. Methods:The patients with IBS-D were recruited(assessed according to the Rome III criteria,by IBS symptom severity score)from the Outpatient Department of Gastroenterology of Peking University Third Hosp让al,and volunteers as healthy controls(HCs)were enrolled, during 2013.The 16S rRNA sequences were extracted from fecal samples.Ribosomal database project resources, basic local alignment search tool, and SparCC software were used to obtain the phylotype composition of samples and the internal interactions of the microbial community.Herein, the non-parametric test,Wilcoxon rank-sum test was carried out to find the statistical significance between HC and IBS-D groups. All the P values were adjusted to q values to decrease the error rate. Results:The study characterized the gut microbiomes of Chinese patients with IBS-D,and demonstrated that the dysbiosis could be characterized as directed alteration of the microbiome composition leading to greater disparity between relative abundance of two phyla,Bacteroidetes(Z=4.77,q=1.59×10^-5)and Firmicutes(Z=-3.87,q=5.83×10^-4).Moreover,it indicated that the IBS symptom features were associated with the dysbiosis of whole gut microbiome, instead of one or several certain genera even they were dominating. Two genera,Bacteroides and Lachnospiracea incertae sedis, were identified as the core genera, meanwhile, the non-core genera contribute to a larger pan-microbiome of the gut microbiome.Furthermore, the dysbiosis in patients with IBS-D was associated with a reduction of network complexity of the interacted microbial community(HC us.IBS-D:639 vs.154).The disordered metabolic functions of patients with IBS-D were identified as the potential influence of gut microbiome on the host(significant difference with q<0.01 between HC and IBS-D).Conclusions:This study supported the view of the potential influence of gut microbiome on the symptom of Chinese patients with IBS-D,and further characterized dysbiosis in Chinese patients with IBS-D,thus provided more pathological evidences for IBS-D with the further understanding of dysbiosis. | Zhe Wang Cong-Min Xu Yi-Xuan Liu Xiao-Qi Wang Lu Zhang Mo Li Shi-Wei Zhu Zhong-Jie Xie Pei-Hong Wang Li-Ping Duan Huai-Qiu Zhu | 2019 | Chinese Medical Journal2019,,8: | 15
Prognosis after resection for hepatitis B virus-associated intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma显示文摘AIM:To investigate the prognostic factors after resection for hepatitis B virus(HBV)-associated intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC) and to assess the impact of different extents of lymphadenectomy on patient survival.METHODS:A total of 85 patients with HBV-associated ICC who underwent curative resection from January 2005 to December 2006 were analyzed. The patients were classified into groups according to the extent of lymphadenectomy(no lymph node dissection, sampling lymph node dissection and regional lymph node dissection).Clinicopathological characteristics and survival were reviewed retrospectively.RESULTS:The cumulative 1-,3-,and 5-year survival rates were found to be 60 %,18 %,and 13 %,respectively.Multivariate analysis revealed that liver cirrhosis(HR = 1.875,95%CI:1.197-3.278,P = 0.008) and multiple tumors(HR = 2.653,95%CI:1.562-4.508,P < 0.001) were independent prognostic factors for survival.Recurrence occurred in 70 patients. The 1-,3-,and 5-year disease-free survival rates were 36%,3% and 0%,respectively.Liver cirrhosis(HR = 1.919,P = 0.012),advanced TNM stage(stage Ⅲ/Ⅳ)(HR = 2.027,P < 0.001),and vascular invasion(HR = 3.779,P = 0.02) were independent prognostic factors for disease-free survival.Patients with regional lymph node dissection demonstrated a similar survival rate to patients with sampling lymph node dissection.Lymphadenectomy did not significantly improve the survival rate of patients with negative lymph node status.CONCLUSION:The extent of lymphadenectomy does not seem to have influence on the survival of patients with HBV-associated ICC,and routine lymph nodedissection is not recommended, particularly for those without lymph node metastasis. | Zhen-Feng Wu Xiao-Yu Wu Nan Zhu Zhe Xu Wei-Su Li Hai-Bin Zhang Ning Yang Xue-Quan Yao Fu-Kun Liu Guang-Shun Yang | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,3: | 15
Astragaloside Ⅳ inhibits pathological functions of gastric cancer-associated fibroblasts显示文摘AIM To investigate the inhibitory effect of astragaloside IV on the pathological functions of cancer-associated fibroblasts, and to explore the underlying mechanism.METHODS Paired gastric normal fibroblast(GNF) and gastric cancer-associated fibroblast(GCAF) cultures were established from resected tissues. GCAFs were treated with vehicle control or different concentrations of astragaloside Ⅳ. Conditioned media were prepared from GNFs,GCAFs,control-treated GCAFs,and astragaloside Ⅳ-treated GCAFs,and used to culture BGC-823 human gastric cancer cells. Proliferation, migration and invasion capacities of BGC-823 cells were determined by MTT,wound healing, and Transwell invasion assays, respectively. The action mechanism of astragaloside Ⅳ was investigated by detecting the expression of micro RNAs and the expression and secretion of the oncogenic factor, macrophage colonystimulating factor(M-CSF),and the tumor suppressive factor, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 2(TIMP2),in different groups of GCAFs. The expression of the oncogenic pluripotency factors SOX2 and NANOG in BGC-823 cells cultured with different conditioned media was also examined.RESULTS GCAFs displayed higher capacities to induce BGC-823 cell proliferation, migration, and invasion than GNFs(P < 0.01). Astragaloside Ⅳ treatment strongly inhibited the proliferation-,migration-and invasion-promoting capacities of GCAFs(P < 0.05 for 10 μmol/L,P < 0.01 for 20 μmol/L and 40 μmol/L). Compared with GNFs,GCAFs expressed a lower level of micro RNA-214(P < 0.01) and a higher level of micro RNA-301 a(P < 0.01). Astragaloside Ⅳ treatment significantly upregulated micro RNA-214 expression(P < 0.01) and down-regulated micro RNA-301 a expression(P < 0.01) in GCAFs. Reestablishing the micro RNA expression balance subsequently suppressed M-CSF production(P < 0.01) and secretion(P < 0.05),and elevated TIMP2 production(P < 0.01) and secretion(P < 0.05). Consequently, the ability of GCAFs to increase SOX2 and NANOG expression in BGC-823 cells was abolished by astragaloside Ⅳ.CONCLUSION Astragaloside Ⅳ can inhibit the pathological functions of GCAFs by correcting their dysregulation of micro RNA expression, and it is promisingly a potent therapeutic agent regulating tumor microenvironment. | Zhen-Fei Wang Da-Guang Ma Zhe Zhu Yong-Ping Mu Yong-Yan Yang Li Feng Hao Yang Jun-Qing Liang Yong-Yan Liu Li Liu Hai-Wen Lu | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,48: | 15
Principle of nonlinear chemical fingerprint by using dissipative components in samples as well as calculation and evaluation of similarity显示文摘Under the conditions of constant temperature and pressure, different influences of samples with different chemical components on the mechanism of nonlinear chemical reaction will cause different changes of the potential-time relationship curve of the nonlinear chemical reaction system.Using it as the character, and using the B-Z nonlinear chemical system to use acetone and substrates in samples as main dissipative substances qua an example, the principle of nonlinear chemical fingerprint has been researched and discussed in detail. At the same time, the general method for calculating the system similarity about nonlinear chemical fingerprint was also put forward, and similarities of nonlinear chemistry fingerprints of different batches of Guhan Yangshengjing and 18 sorts of other samples were calculated by Euclidean distance, correlation coefficient, included angle cosine and system similarity,at the same time, the various similarities were analyzed. The results showed that, both of correlation coefficient and included angle cosine are unable to be used as the criterion for quantitatively evaluating the similarity of nonlinear chemistry fingerprint;as non-parametric similarity,Euclidean distance can accurately reflect the feature differences in the fingerprints, but as parametric similarity, sometimes,Euclidean distance can not accurately reflect the relative extent of characteristic difference in the nonlinear chemical fingerprints;system similarity can most truthfully reflect the characteristic difference in the nonlinear chemical fingerprints, and is the best evaluating method among the four ones. Therefore, system similarity can be used to quantitatively calculate the similar extent between the nonlinear chemical fingerprints. An economical, simple and convenient, easy pushing and effective method for identifying and evaluating complicated samples has successfully been put forward. | ZHANG TaiMing ZHAO Zhe FANG XuanQi QIAO JunXi XIANG FengQin ZHU Rong LIANG YiZeng DING Feng | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,2: | 13
Modified shock index and mortality rate of emergency patients显示文摘BACKGROUND:This study aimed to determine whether modified shock index(MSI)is associated with mortality that is superior to heart rate, blood pressure,or the shock index(SI).in emergency patients.METHODS:A retrospective database review was performed on 22 161 patients who presented to Peking Union Medical College Hospital Emergency Department and received intravenous fluids from January 1 to December 31,2009.We gathered data of the patients on age, gender, vital signs, levels of consciousness, presenting complaints, and SI and MSI were calculated for all patients.RESULTS:Multivariate regression analysis was performed to determine the correlation between risk factors and outcome. There is a significant correlation between emergency patient mortality rate and patient's vital signs obtained at the triage desk(HR>120 beats/min,systolic BP<90 mmHg,diastolic BP<60 mmHg).MSI is a stronger predictor of emergency patient mortality compared to heart rate and blood pressure alone, whereas SI does not have a significant correlation with emergency patient mortality rate.CONCLUSION:MSI is a clinically significant predictor of mortality in emergency patients. It may be better than using heart rate and blood pressure alone.SI is not significantly correlated with the mortality rate of the emergency patient. | Ye-cheng Liu Ji-hai Liu Zhe Amy Fang Guang-liang Shan Jun Xu Zhi-wei Qi Hua-dong Zhu Zhong Wang Xue-zhong Yu | 2012 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2012,3,2: | 11
Epidemiological investigation of Helicobacter pylori infection in elderly people in Beijing显示文摘BACKGROUND The Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection rate in China is approximately 50%.H.pylori is a pathogenic factor of peptic ulcer and chronic gastritis. In addition,H.pylori infection may also be associated with a variety of cardiovascular diseases in elderly people, such as arteriosclerosis, coronary heart disease, and cerebral infarction, having deleterious effect on their health. With the aging of the population, the disease characteristics of the elderly population have been increasingly valued by the whole society. We conducted an epidemiological survey of H.pylori infection among elderly people in Beijing to provide a basis for health management of H.pylori infection.AIM To understand the epidemiological characteristics of H.pylori infection in elderly people in Beijing.METHODS A total of 1090 elderly people aged more than 60 years from different parts of Beijing(urban and rural areas)were selected using the random cluster sampling method.Structured questionnaires were completed during home visits and the 13C-urea breath test was conducted for H.pylori detection.RESULTS The prevalence of H.pylori infection was 46.5%(507/1090).The infection rate in men was 51.8%,which was significantly higher than that in women(42.5%;P<0.05).The H.pylori infection rate in illiterate people was significantly higher than that in literate persons(53.5%vs 44.8%,P<0.05).The total infection rate of H.pylori gradually increased with age and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The H.pylori infection rate in smokers was significantly higher than that in non-smokers and those who had quit smoking(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The prevalence of H.pylori infection among elderly people is 46.5%and the infection rate gradually increases with age.Sex,education level, age, and smoking were determined to be H.pylori infection risk factors. The relationship of H.pylori infection with region, occupation, drinking, and diet structure needs to be further studied. | Hong-Ming Zhu Bang-Yi Li Zhe Tang Jing She Xue-Ying Liang Li-Kou Dong Mei Zhang | 2020 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,11: | 11
