| 2 | Effect of Huatan Jieyu granules in treatment of Parkinson’s disease patients with sleep disorder identified as symptom pattern of phlegma-heat-stirring wind显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the safety and efficacy of Huatan Jieyu granules in treatment of Parkinson’s disease(PD) patients with sleep disorder identified as symptom pattern of phlegma-heat-stirring wind in terms of the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine.METHODS: In total, 107 Parkinson’s disease patients with sleep disorders identified as symptom pattern of phlegma-heat-stirring wind were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group(55 cases) and the control group(52 cases).Both groups were given basic treatment with prednisone. The experimental group of patients was treated with Huatan Jieyu granules and the control group of patents was treated with only the basic treatment. Treatment lasted for 4 weeks. Sleep polygraph were recorded before the study as well as 3 months and 6 months after treatment.RESULTS: After treated with Huatan Jieyu granules,the total sleep time, and the percentage of non rapid eye movement 2(NREM 2), non rapid eye movement 3(NREM 3) and rapid eye movement(REM)sleep period increased significantly, while the percentage of NREM1 sleep period decreased significantly compared with before treatment(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: The treatment of PD patients with sleep disorder by Huatan Jieyu granules can improve their sleep structure and their sleep quality. | Liu Meijun Hu Chongshan Zhang Yaodan Li Qizheng Zhang Qi Fang Yu Sun Honghui Hou Xiaolin Jin Shuoguo Tao Liangjing Yang Dongdong | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,3: | 3 |

| 5 | Modeling the Prevalence of Asymptomatic COVID-19 Infections in the Chinese Mainland显示文摘Recently,considerable efforts have been focused on intensifying the screening process for asymptomatic COVID-19 cases in the ChineseMainland,especially for up to 10 million citizens living in Wuhan City by nucleic acid testing.However,a high percentage of domestic asymptomatic cases did not develop into symptomatic ones,which is abnormal and has drawn considerable public attention.Here,we aimed to investigate the prevalence of COVID-19 infections in the Chinese Mainland from a statistical perspective,as it is of referential significance for other regions.By conservatively assuming a development time lag from pre-symptomatic(i.e.,referring to the infected cases that were screened before the COVID-19 symptom onset)to symptomatic as an incubation time of 5.2 days,our results indicated that 92.5%of those tested in Wuhan City,China,and 95.1%of those tested in the Chinese Mainland should have COVID-19 syndrome onset,which was extremely higher than their corresponding practical percentages of 0.8%and 3.3%,respectively.We propose that a certain false positive rate may exist if large-scale nucleic acid screening tests for asymptomatic cases are conducted in common communities with a low incidence rate.Despite adopting relatively high-sensitivity,high-specificity detection kits,we estimated a very low prevalence of COVID-19 infections,ranging from 106 to 104 in both Wuhan City and the Chinese Mainland.Thus,the prevalence rate of asymptomatic infections in China had been at a very low level.Furthermore,given the lower prevalence of the infection,close examination of the data for false positive results is necessary to minimize social and economic impacts. | Xiaoqian Jia Junxi Chen Liangjing Li Na Jia Bahabaike Jiangtulu Tao Xue Le Zhang Zhiwen Li Rongwei Ye Bin Wang | 2020 | The Innovation2020,1,2: | 1 |

| 9 | How temperature and hydrostatic pressure impact organic room temperature phosphorescence from H-aggregation of planar triarylboranes and the application in bioimaging显示文摘Highly efficient persistent organic room temperature phosphorescence(RTP) has attracted increasing attention because of promising applications in fields of chemical sensors, optoelectronic devices, information security, and bioimaging, etc. Wherein,the crystal engineering of H-aggregation offers stabilization for long-lived triplet exciton for RTP, but the related research is rare because of the scarcity of ideal phosphorescent H-aggregate. Herein, we designed planar tricoordinate organoboron derivatives with molecular arrangement in ideal H-aggregation. The integration of Br atom can largely enhance RTP efficiency through increasing SOC effect, while the antiparallel molecular arrangement causes annihilation of triplet exciton. Thanks to good selfassembly property, their RTP can even be observed in PMMA matrix with doping ratio of merely 1 wt%. We further found that the cryogenic temperature contributes to stabilizing triplet exciton in H-aggregation, leading to red-shifted phosphorescence. By applying high hydrostatic pressure, the phosphorescence was largely enhanced and redshifted, demonstrating the crucial role of H-aggregation on RTP property. | 10 | Immunosuppressive therapy selectively modulates B-cell responses in patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases receiving the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine显示文摘Background:Immunosuppressive medication reduces the immunogenicity of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccines in patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases(RMDs).However,the underlying mechanism remains unclear.The primary aim of our study was to dissect the impact of immunosuppressive medication on cellular and humoral immune responses in RMD patients receiving the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine.Methods:A total of 28 RMD patients and five healthy controls(HCs)receiving two doses of the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine(Sinovac-CoronaVac)were prospectively enrolled.Blood samples were collected before the primary vaccination(Week 0)and one week after the second vaccination(Week 5).Neutralizing antibody(nAb)titers and autoantibody titers were measured by a pseudovirus-based neutralization assay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,respectively.CD4^(+)T-cell and CD19^(+)B-cell subsets and serum cytokines were analyzed by flow cytometry.Results:The inactivated COVID-19 vaccine was immunogenic in RMD patients and HCs after the second vaccination,but the nAb titers were lower in RMD patients than those in HCs.Only patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)had notably increased nAb titers.Remarkably,IgG^(+)CD27^(+),IgG^(+)IgG1^(+),and IgG^(+)IgG1^(−)B cells were reduced,whereas IgG−IgG1^(+)B cells,and total IgA and IgG titers were markedly increased.However,Tfh cell and Tfr cell subsets and cytokines produced by Tfh cells were not increased.The flare rate was low in RMD patients with comparable autoantibody titers,unchanged CD4^(+)T cell subsets and serum proinflammatory cytokines(interleukin[IL]-6,IL-17,interferon-γ,and tumor necrosis factor-α)after the second vaccination.Conclusions:Immunosuppressive therapy decreased the immunogenicity of the vaccine and maintained a low flare rate by selectively modulating B cell but not CD4^(+)T cell responses in RMD patients receiving the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine.Optimization of the treatment regimen might ensure a durable and robust COVID-19 vaccination response. | Rui Li Ruru Guo Jia Li Bing Zheng Ronghao Xu Xiaoyue Jiang Yingying Chen Guo Tang Qianqian Li Yixuan Li Jiaqi Feng Xiaoxiang Chen Ying Wang Shuang Ye Fang Du Liangjing Lu Jun Deng | 2023 | Rheumatology & Autoimmunity2023,3,2: | 0 |
