| 3 | Physical picture of the optical memory effect显示文摘The optical memory effect is an interesting phenomenon that has attracted considerable attention in recent decades. Here, we present a new physical picture of the optical memory effect, in which the memory effect and the conventional spatial shift invariance are united. Based on this picture we depict the role of thickness, scattering times, and anisotropy factor and derive equations to calculate the ranges of the angular memory effect(AME) of different scattering components(ballistic light, singly scattered, doubly scattered, etc.), and hence a more accurate equation for the real AME ranges of volumetric turbid media. A conventional random phase mask model is modified according to the new picture. | 4 | Review of systematic reviews and Meta-analyses investigating Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To conduct a review of the systematic reviews and meta-analyses on the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).METHODS: We searched Pub Med, Cochrane, Web of Science, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP), Wanfang, and other databases from database inception to May 2014 for systematic reviews and meta-analyses on TCM treatment of T2 DM. Manuscripts were read by two investigators if they met the inclusion criteria, and data were extracted. A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews(AMSTAR) was used to classify research quality, and the evidence quality was graded by the Grade of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation(GRADE) system.RESULTS: Eighteen systematic reviews and meta-analyses were considered. Fifteen analyzed the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicines, and three investigated the efficacy of acupuncture. AMSTAR evaluation ranged from 3-10, and re-evaluation of the main results implied that treatment of T2 DM with TCM has certain advantages when compared with conventional Western medicine. However, the evidence quality was generally low.CONCLUSION: This work shows favorable evidence for the clinical treatment of TCM on T2 DM. However, it is recommended that evidence-based decisions are made based on clinical trials because of the GRADE scores of the studies. To achieve higher quality of clinical research, clinical research on TCM requires specific and suitable research methods. | 5 | Effect of Huatan Jieyu granules in treatment of Parkinson’s disease patients with sleep disorder identified as symptom pattern of phlegma-heat-stirring wind显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the safety and efficacy of Huatan Jieyu granules in treatment of Parkinson’s disease(PD) patients with sleep disorder identified as symptom pattern of phlegma-heat-stirring wind in terms of the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine.METHODS: In total, 107 Parkinson’s disease patients with sleep disorders identified as symptom pattern of phlegma-heat-stirring wind were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group(55 cases) and the control group(52 cases).Both groups were given basic treatment with prednisone. The experimental group of patients was treated with Huatan Jieyu granules and the control group of patents was treated with only the basic treatment. Treatment lasted for 4 weeks. All oils from this area are geochemically characterized by higher Pr/Ph ratio,higher proportion of heavy molecular weight hydrocarbons,and higher proportion of C29 regular steranes,which indicate that the organic matter of source rocks might have been deposited in an oxidizing palaeoenvironment and be dominated by higher plant organic matter input. The oil from E3w2 (the second member of Weizhou Fm. of the Oligocene) has a much higher density,relatively higher Pr/nC17 and Ph/nC18 ratios,and a 'UCM-unresolved complex mixture' on gas chromatograms,which indicate that it has been slightly biodegraded. CPI and other terpane and sterane isomer ratios suggest they are all mature oils. The timing of oil charging in E3w2 and E2l1 (the first member of the Liushagang Fm. of the Eocene) determined by the homogenization temperatures of fluid inclusions and thermal evolution history are from 9-3 Ma and 8-3 Ma,respectively. Thus,the interpretation of E3w2 as a secondary reservoir is unlikely. The timing of oil charging is later than that of hydrocarbon generating and expulsion of Liushagang Fm. source rocks and trap formation,which is favorable for oil accumulation in this area. All molecular parameters that are used for tracing oil filling direction decrease with shallower burial depth,which suggests vertical oil migration.
