| 1 | Cr(VI) removal from aqueous solution with bamboo charcoal chemically modified by iron and cobalt with the assistance of microwave显示文摘Bamboo charcoal (BC) was used as starting material to prepare Co-Fe binary oxideloaded adsorbent (Co-Fe-MBC) through its impregnation in Co(NO3)2 , FeCl3 and HNO3 solutions simultaneously, followed by microwave heating. The low-cost composite was characterized and used as an adsorbent for Cr(VI) removal from water. The results showed that a cobalt and iron binary oxide (CoFe2O4 ) was uniformly formed on the BC through redox reactions. The composite exhibited higher surface area (331 m2/g) than that of BC or BC loaded with Fe alone (Fe-MBC). The adsorption of Cr(VI) strongly depended on solution pH, temperature and ionic strength. The adsorption isotherms followed the Langmuir isotherm model well, and the maximum adsorption capacities for Cr(VI) at 288 K and pH 5.0 were 35.7 and 51.7 mg/g for Fe-MBC and Co-Fe-MBC, respectively. The adsorption processes were well fitted by the pseudo second-order kinetic model. Thermodynamic parameters showed that the adsorption of Cr(VI) onto both adsorbents was feasible, spontaneous, and exothermic under the studied conditions. | 2 | A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR RESERVOIR SEDIMENTATION AND FLUVIAL PROCESSES显示文摘This paper consists of two parts: mechanism of non-equilibrium transport of non-uniform sediment and its application in the mathematical model. Based on a statistic approach of sediment transport proposed by the authors, a 1 - D equation of non-e- quilibrium transport for various size group of sediment particles is developed. Then equations to predict change of sediment concentration and the corresponding changes in size distribution of suspended load and bed material are also derived. The conception that changes in size distribution are interrelated to sediment-carrying capacity is expounded. These results reveal the essence of sediment transport of non-uniform sediment particles. In the second part a mathematical model incorporating the mentioned equations to compute deposition and scouring in reservoirs as well as the fluvial processes of river channels has been developed. Research results show that rill erosion processes can be schematically divided into five stages, that is, concentrated flow forming process; little waterfalls in the concentrated flow forming Process; little waterfalls developing into rill head cut process; rill head cuts developing to form discontinuous rill process and discontinuous rills connecting to form continuous rill process. Rill head cuts backward erosion, rill wall collapsing and runoff washing rill bed are the main patterns of rill development. | 6 | Effect of Post-weld Heat Treatment on Properties of Friction Welded Joint Between TC4 Titanium Alloy and 40Cr Steel Rods显示文摘Dissimilar metal joining of Ti–6Al–4V(TC4) titanium alloy to as-rolled 40 Cr steel rods was conducted with friction welding, and the effect of post-weld heat treatment(PWHT) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the resultant joints was investigated. The average tensile strength of the as-welded joints reached 766 MPa and failure occurred in 40 Cr steel base metal. However, after PWHT at 600 °C for 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 h, the tensile strength of the joints decreased and fracture happened through the interface with quasi-cleavage features. The bending angle of specimens was improved from 9.6° in as-welded state to 32.5° after PWHT for 2 h. The tensile strength of the joint was enhanced by martensitic transformation near the interface in as-welded state. Sorbite formed near the interface in PWHT state and improved the bending ductility of the joint. Ti C brittle phase formed at the interface after PWHT for 0.5 h and deteriorated the tensile strength and bending ductility of the joint. After PWHT for 2 h, no Ti C phase was detected at the interface. | 7 | Evaluation and scenario simulation for forest ecological security in China显示文摘Continuously growing populations and rapid economic development have led to the excessive use of forest resources,and the forest ecosystem is threatened.In response,forest ecological security(FES)has attracted attention.In this study,an integrated dynamic simulation model was constructed using the system dynamic method,and it was used to evaluate the FES in China from 1999 to 2014.A scenario analysis was then used to evaluate the changes in the FES under five forestry policy scenarios for the 2015–2050 period,including the baseline,afforestation policy,harvesting policies,management policy,investment policy,and a policy mix.The results showed that the evaluation values of the FES increased during the period from 1999 to 2002,the period from 2004 to 2010 and the year 2014,and they decreased in 2003 and during the period from 2011 to 2013.During the 2015–2050 simulation period,the FES improved continuously.In particular,China would enter a new stage when the economic systems,social systems and ecosystems were in harmony after 2040.To improve the FES and the current status of the FES,a scenario analysis showed the most suitable scenario to be Scenario 5 from 2015 to 2020 and Scenario 2 from 2021 to 2050.To relieve pressure,the most suitable scenario would be Scenario 5 from 2015 to 2040 and from 2046 to 2050,and the most suitable scenario would be Scenario 4 for 2041–2045.A policy mix(Scenario 5)would be most efficient under current conditions,while the effects of all the benefits of the forestry policies would weaken over the long term.The integrated method can be regarded as a decision support tool to help policy makers understand FES and promulgate a reasonable forestry policy. | Qin Zhang Guangyu Wang Feng Mi Xuanchang Zhang Lianzhen Xu Yufang Zhang Xiaoli Jiang | 2019 | Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,5: | 5 |

| 10 | CT radiomics can help screen the coronavirus disease2019(COVID-19): a preliminary study显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) is raging across the world.The radiomics,which explores huge amounts of features from medical image for disease diagnosis,may help the screen of the COVID-19.In this study,we aim to develop a radiomic signature to screen COVID-19 from CT images.We retrospectively collect 75 pneumonia patients from Beijing Youan Hospital,including 46 patients with COVID-19 and 29 other types of pneumonias.These patients are divided into training set(n = 50) and test set(n = 25) at random.We segment the lung lesions from the CT images,and extract 77 radiomic features from the lesions.Then unsupervised consensus clustering and multiple cross-validation are utilized to select the key features that are associated with the COVID-19.In the experiments,while twenty-three radiomic features are found to be highly associated with COVID-19,four key features are screened and used as the inputs of support vector machine to build the radiomic signature.We use area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC) and calibration curve to assess the performance of our model.It yields AUCs of 0.862 and 0.826 in the training set and the test set respectively.We also perform the stratified analysis and find that its predictive ability is not affected by gender,age,chronic disease and degree of severity.In conclusion,we investigate the value of radiomics in screening COVID-19,and the experimental results suggest the radiomic signature could be a potential tool for diagnosis of COVID-19. | Mengjie FANG Bingxi HE Li LI Di DONG Xin YANG Cong LI Lingwei MENG Lianzhen ZHONG Hailin LI Hongjun LI Jie TIAN | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,7: | 2 |
