2Design of a Carbon Nanotube/Magnetic Nanoparticle-Based Peroxidase-Like Nanocomplex and Its Application for Highly Efficient Catalytic Oxidation of Phenols显示文摘We report a novel nanotechnology-based approach for the highly efficient catalytic oxidation of phenols and their removal from wastewater.We use a nanocomplex made of multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs)and magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs).This nanocomplex retains the magnetic properties of individual MNPs and can be effectively separated under an external magnetic fi eld.More importantly,the formation of the nanocomplex enhances the intrinsic peroxidase-like activity of the MNPs that can catalyze the reduction of hydrogen peroxide(H2O2).Significantly,in the presence of H2O2,this nanocomplex catalyzes the oxidation of phenols with high effi ciency,generating insoluble polyaromatic products that can be readily separated from water.Xiaolei Zuo Cheng Peng Qing Huang Shiping Song Lihua Wang Di Li Chunhai Fan 2009Nano Research2009,2,8:8
3Nonlinear relationship between enteric-coated mycophenolate sodium dose and mycophenolic acid exposure in Han kidney transplantation recipients显示文摘The aim of the research was to investigate the pharmacokinetics(PK) of enteric-coated mycophenolate sodium(EC-MPS) by quantification of the active metabolite of mycophenolic acid(MPA)after multiple escalating oral doses in Han kidney transplant recipients. A total of 28 Han postoperative kidney transplant recipients were given a multiple-dose of 540, 720 or 900 mg of EC-MPS two times a day in combination with tacrolimus for 6 days. Blood specimens were collected at each time point from0 to 12 h after EC-MPS administration. MPA plasma concentrations were measured by UPLC–UV. The relationship between the EC-MPS dose and its PK parameters was assessed. In the range from 540 to900 mg, C_(max) and AUC_(0–12h) did not increase with dose escalation. The AUC_(0–12h), C_(max), C_0 and T_(max) for the 540 720 and 900 mg doses were not significantly different, respectively(P 40.05). AUC_0–12 h and C_(max) were increased less than proportionally with increasing EC-MPS dose levels. Inter-individual variability in AUC_(0–12h), C_(max) and C_0 were considerable. 4Recognizing single phospholipid vesicle collisions on carbon fiber nanoelectrode显示文摘We recognize the stochastic collisions of dopamine contained phospholipid vesicle on carbon fiber nanoelectrode, extending the observation of discrete collision events on nanoelectrode to biologically relevant analytes. To decrease noise interference to the technique, the dimensions of nanoelectrode was systematically investigated and optimized. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) further supported the comparable sizes of nanoelectrode and vesicles(~100 nm in diameter). Vesicles collision and rupture on the surface of nanoelectrode led to the dopamine release from vesicles, which could be electrochemically oxidized to dopamine-o-quinone and detected via voltammetry. The comparable size of the nanoelectrode with vesicles and fast voltammetry allowed differentiation of single collision events from the current magnitudes and peak widths in the electrochemical collision experiments, which shows the efficacy of the method to characterize vesicle samples. 5Nucleic acids analysis显示文摘Nucleic acids are natural biopolymers of nucleotides that store, encode, transmit and express genetic information, which play central roles in diverse cellular events and diseases in living things. The analysis of nucleic acids and nucleic acids-based analysis have been widely applied in biological studies, clinical diagnosis, environmental analysis, food safety and forensic analysis.During the past decades, the field of nucleic acids analysis has been rapidly advancing with many technological breakthroughs.In this review, we focus on the methods developed for analyzing nucleic acids, nucleic acids-based analysis, device for nucleic acids analysis, and applications of nucleic acids analysis. The representative strategies for the development of new nucleic acids analysis in this field are summarized, and key advantages and possible limitations are discussed. 7Streamline modeling of fluid transport in naturally fractured porous medium显示文摘To better understand the roles natural fractures play in porous media, an embedded discrete fracture model and streamline modeling method were combined to model natural fractures and compute the flow trajectory and time of fluid in matrix and fractures systems. The effects of fracture conductivity, number of fractures and fracture locations on fluid flow trajectory and time were examined through analyzing the differences in water breakthrough time and sweeping volume of reservoirs with different fracture networks. When other conditions are the same, compared with homogeneous reservoir without fractures, the fractured reservoir has water breakthrough time 30% sooner and swept volume 10% smaller. Although increase of single fracture can lead to faster water breakthrough and smaller swept volume, adding more fractures wouldn't necessarily reach the same effect. The effect of water flooding is also related to the strike and position of fractures. Fractures in different strikes and positions can result in 20% discrepancy in water breakthrough time and 9% gap in swept volume. The shorter the fracture, the less its effect on fluid flow trajectory and time will be. 8Modeling methane dynamics in three wetlands in Northeastern China by using the CLM-Microbe model显示文摘Wetlands account for up to 70%of the natural source of methane(CH_(4))in terrestrial ecosystems on a global scale.Soil microbes are the ultimate producers and biological consumers of CH_(4)in wetlands.Therefore,simulating microbial mechanisms of CH_(4)production and consumptionwould improve the predictability of CH_(4)flux in wetland ecosystems.In this study,we applied a microbial-explicit model,the CLM-Microbe,to simulate CH_(4)flux in three major natural wetlands in northeastern China.The CLM-Microbe model was able to capture the seasonal variation of gross primary productivity(GPP),dissolved organic carbon(DOC),and CH_(4)flux.The CLM-Microbe model explained more than 40%of the variation in GPP and CH_(4)flux across sites.Marsh wetlands had higher CH_(4)flux than mountain peatlands.Ebullition dominated the CH_(4)transport pathway in all three wetlands.The methanogenesis dominates while methanotroph makes a minor contribution to the CH_(4)flux,making all wetlands a CH_(4)source.Sensitivity analysis indicated that microbial growth and death rates are the key factors governing CH_(4)emission and vegetation physiological properties(flnr)and maintenance respiration predominate GPP variation.Explicitly simulating microbial processes allows genomic information to be incorporated,laying a foundation for better predicting CH_(4)dynamics under the changing environment.Yunjiang Zuo Yihui Wang Liyuan He Nannan Wang Jianzhao Liu Fenghui Yuan Kexin Li Ziyu Guo Ying Sun Xinhao Zhu Lihua Zhang Changchun Song Li Sun Xiaofeng Xu 2022Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2022,8,1:0
