| 1 | Regional assessment of cadmium pollution in agricultural lands and the potential health risk related to intensive mining activities: A case study in Chenzhou City, China显示文摘The purpose of this study was to assess the extent of cadmium (Cd) contamination in agricultural soil and its potential risk for people. Soils, rice, and vegetables from Chenzhou City, Southern China were sampled and analyzed. In the surface soils, the 95% confidence interval for the mean concentration of Cd varied between 2.72 and 4.83 mg/kg (P < 0.05) in the survey, with a geometric mean concentration of 1.45 mg/kg. Based on the GIS map, two hot spot areas of Cd in agricultural soils with high Cd concentrations were identified to be located around the Shizhuyuan, Jinshiling, and Yaogangxian mines, and the Baoshan and Huangshaping mines, in the center of the city. About 60% of the total investigated area, where the agricultural soil Cd concentration is above 1 mg/kg, is distributed in a central belt across the region. The critical distances, at which the soil Cd concentration were increased by the mining activities, from the mines of the soils were 23 km for the Baoshan mine, 46 km for the Huangshaping mine, and 63 km for the Shizhuyuan mine, respectively. These are distances calculated from models. The Cd concentrations in rice samples ranged from 0.01 to 4.43 mg/kg and the mean dietary Cd intake from rice for an adult was 191 μg/d. | 2 | Subcellular distribution and compartmentalization of arsenic in Pteris vittata L.显示文摘The subcellular distribution of arsenic (As) in Pteris vittata L., an As-hyperaccumulator, was studied to de- termine As compartmentalization and to explore the mecha- nisms that confer As tolerance. When the plant was grown in a nutrient solution without additional As, most of the accu- mulated As was isolated to the cell wall. However, in plants growing in a nutrient solution containing 0.1 or 0.2 mmol/L As, approximately 78% of the total As accumulated within the pinna. The proportions of As accumulation in the cyto- plasmic supernatant fraction were 78% of that in the pinna and 61% of that in the plant. In either treatment group (0.1 or 0.2 mmol/L As), the fraction containing the lowest level of As was the organelle fraction. These results suggest that As accumulates in the pinna where it is primarily distributed in the cytoplasmic supernatant fraction. | 3 | 3D Positional and Quantitative Prediction of the Xiaoqinling Gold Ore Belt in Tongguan, Shaanxi, China显示文摘Quantitative prediction of deep orebody based on 3D visualization technology is of great significance in mineral exploration. Based on the 2D traditional quantitative predicting method, the geoanomaly theory and the mineral exploration model idea, we constructed 3D models of the topography, strata, structure, magmatite and prospecting engineering of the study area using the commercial 3D modeling software Micromine, delineated eight prospective areas and estimated the gold resources amount with methods of Abundance Estimation and Volume Estimation. Then, we compared and counted the known ore blocks and the predicted blocks, which quantitatively explains this prediction's validity. | 4 | The separation and recovery of copper(Ⅱ), nickel(Ⅱ), cobalt(Ⅱ), zinc(Ⅱ),and cadmium(Ⅱ) in a sulfate-based solution using a mixture of Versatic 10 acid and Mextral 984H显示文摘We studied the separation and recovery of copper(Ⅱ), nickel(Ⅱ), cobalt(Ⅱ), zinc(Ⅱ), and cadmium(Ⅱ) from magnesium and calcium, using synergistic solvent extraction(SSX) in a typical hydrometallurgical waste solution. A mixture of Versatic 10 acid and Mextral 984 H, diluted with Mextral DT100, was used to obtain fundamental data on p H and distribution isotherms, as well as the kinetics of extraction and stripping. We also investigated the main effects and interactions of common solvent extraction factors: the extraction p H at equilibrium, the temperature, and the extractant concentration. The synergistic effect for extracting metals was confirmed. The results showed that the addition of Mextral 984 H enhanced the separation factors of copper, nickel, cobalt,zinc, and cadmium over magnesium and calcium. Compared with Versatic 10 acid alone, for a mixture of0.5 mol·L^(-1) Versatic 10 acid/0.5 mol·L^(-1)Mextral 984 H, Δp H50 values of copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, and cadmium were found to be N 2.0, 3.30, 2.85, 0.95, and 1.32 p H units, respectively. The Δp H_(50)(Zn–Mg)and Δp H_(50)(Zn–Ca)values were 3.27 and 2.25, respectively, indicating easy separation and recovery of copper, nickel, zinc, cobalt,and cadmium. The extraction and stripping of copper, cobalt, zinc, and cadmium were fast, with 90% of the metal transferred in 2 min. We next studied whether the metals could be stripped from the extracted liquid selectively in sequence, by using sulfuric acid at different concentrations. | 10 | Effect of esculetin on bone metabolism in ovariectomized rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To determine the effect of an esculetin formulation(at 97.4% purity) on osteoporosis, and to investigate the potential underlying molecular mechanism(s).METHODS: Sixty specific pathogen free-grade female Wistar rats were randomly assigned to three groups: blank control(n = 12), sham(n = 12), and model(n = 36). The model group were bilaterally ovariectomized. The sham group had the tissue surrounding the ovaries removed, while the ovaries were retained. After 3 months, the model group was randomly divided into three subgroups: OVX(n = 12), positive control(n = 12), and esculetin(n =12). The positive control group and the esculetin group were intragastrically administered diethylstilbestrol(0.046 mgkd^(-1)), respec·kg^(-1)tively,·d^(-1)) or esculetin(384 mgg^(-1) once per day for 6 consecu··-tive days; medication administration was then stopped for 1 d, before being administered for another 6 consecutive days. All rats were treated for 3months. Samples were collected at the end of the treatment period. An Osteocore3 Digital 2D bone densitometer was used to test the bone mineral density, and histomorphometric analysis was performed to measure bone mass, bone formation,and bone resorption. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay analysis was used to measure the serum concentrations of interleukin-6(IL-6), osteoprotegerin(OPG), and receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand(RANKL). Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization were performed to detect the protein and mRNA expressions of OPG and RANKL in osteoblasts and bone marrow stromal cells.RESULTS: Compared with the OVX group, the esculetin group had significantly greater femoral bone mineral density and tibial trabecular bone volume,and significantly smaller trabecular resorption surface. The percentage of trabecular formation surface, average osteoid width, trabecular bone mineralization rate, and cortical bone mineralization rate did not significantly differ between groups. Compared with the sham group, the esculetin group had significantly decreased serum levels of IL-6and RANKL, and significant downregulation of RANKL protein and mRNA expression levels in osteoblasts and bone marrow stromal cells; however, there was no significant difference between groups in OPG.CONCLUSION: Esculetin can increase bone mass by upregulating RANKL expression in osteoblasts and bone marrow stromal cells, and decreasing serum IL-6 concentration. | 11 | Plasma draining and replenishing near a solar active region inferred from cross-correlation between radiation intensity and Doppler shift显示文摘Using observations from the EUV Imaging Spectrometer(EIS) onboard Hinode, we exam the plasma dynamics around the edge of the active region 10977, possibly associated with the source of nascent slow/intermediate solar wind. The correlation between the temporal profiles of the radiation intensity and Doppler shift for each emission line are analyzed. And three small regions with positive correlations for all the five emission lines are selected for a detailed analysis. In this work, Doppler blue(red) shift is defined as negative(positive). We find that in Region 1, the radiation intensity(Doppler velocity) decreases by about 15%(about 3 km s-1), and logarithmical differential emission measures(lg(DEMs)) reduces by about 0.06–0.10% at all temperatures, called 'weak dimming', during a 30-min interval. In Region 2 and Region 3, however, the radiation intensity(Doppler velocity) increases by about 15%(about 3 km s-1), and lg(DEMs) increases by about 0.06%–0.10% at all temperatures, called 'weak brightening'. Such weak dimming(weak brightening) could reflect a slow draining(replenishing) of plasma in the solar wind flux tubes, possibly due to a larger(smaller) outflow flux at high altitude than at low altitude. | 15 | Effects of natural forest conversion and plantation tree species composition on soil macrofauna communities in Northeast China mountains显示文摘As primary and secondary forests are being replaced by plantations across the globe,the soil macrofauna community structure is also affected,but little is known about the impact of mixed culture plantations compared with monocultures on the soil macrofauna.To determine the impact of forest conversion on soil macrofauna,we surveyed the soil macrofauna in two broad-leaved and three coniferous monoculture stands and four coniferous-broadleaved mixed stands,and in adjacent reserved secondary stands as a reference.Soil macro fauna community composition was significant affected by forest type,season and their interaction(P<0.05).The abundance,taxa richness and diversity of soil macro fauna changed to different degrees depending on the plantation type.Broadleaved monoculture stands and secondary stands had similar macrofauna abundance and taxa richness,but values were lower in coniferous stands than in secondary stands.The Shannon index for macrofauna in coniferous stands was also the lowest,but the Pielou index did not differ between forest types.The negative effects of the conifer monoculture on soil macro fauna were not present in the mixed stands with broad-leaved trees.Forest conversion impacted soil properties;soil moisture,NO_(3)^(-),and pH were significant drivers of soil macrofauna community structure.The impact of forest conversion on soil macrofauna was closely dependent on tree species composition and diversity.The macro fauna community structure in the broadleaved and the mixed stands were relatively similar to that in the natural forest,and thus recommended for forest conversion in the study area. | Shuangjiao Ma Qingcheng Wang Yong Zhang Limei Yan Donghai Cui Liqing Xu | 2023 | Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,5: | 0 |

| 20 | Measurement of Deep Energy Level in InP: Fe by the Method of OTCS显示文摘We have measured the deep energy level of the InP: Fe which is semi -insulator through the method of OTCS. The effect of light intensity on OTCS measurement is mainly discussed. There are electron trap of E_T =0.34 eV and hole trap of E_T = 1.13 eV in InP: Fe under the strong light and low temperature. The location of the OTCS peak of electron trap (E_T = 0.34 eV) moves towards the direction of high temperaturer, when the light intensity was increased, E_T is different under different light intensity. It is corrected in terms of theory that the stuff ratio of the deep energy level is affected by the light intensity.
