| 2 | MiR156 regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis through SPL targets and other microRNAs in poplar显示文摘Anthocyanins biosynthesized from the flavonoid pathway are types of pigments that are involved in the protection of poplar from biotic and abiotic stresses.Previous researchers studying anthocyanin-related transcription factors and structural genes in poplar have made significant discoveries.However,little is known about the regulatory role of microRNAs in anthocyanin biosynthesis in poplar.Here,we overexpressed miR156 in poplar to study the comprehensive effects of the miR156-SPL module on the biosynthesis of anthocyanins.Small RNA sequencing analysis revealed 228 microRNAs differentially expressed in transgenic poplar plants with dramatically increased miR156 levels.Furthermore,integrated microRNAomic and transcriptomic analysis suggested that two microRNAs,miR160h,and miR858,have the potential to affect anthocyanin accumulation in poplar by regulating auxin response factors and MYB transcription factors,respectively.Additionally,the accumulation of miR160h and miR858 displayed a positive correlation with miR156 levels,suggesting a possible interaction between the miR156-SPL module and these microRNAs in poplar.Last,metabolomics analysis revealed that the levels of anthocyanins,flavones,and flavonols were substantially elevated in transgenic poplar plants overexpressing miR156 compared with the wild type,whereas the total lignin content was reduced in the transgenic plants.Taken together,our results indicate that miR156 can fine tune the anthocyanin biosynthetic pathway via multiple factors,including microRNAs,transcription factors,and the levels of structural genes,in poplar.This provides additional clues for understanding the complex regulatory network of anthocyanin biosynthesis in woody plants. | Yamei Wang Wenwen Liu Xinwei Wang Ruijuan Yang Zhenying Wu HanWang LeiWang Zhubing Hu Siyi Guo Hailing Zhang Jinxing Lin Chunxiang Fu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 9 |
| 3 | Bacillus cereus AR156 primes induced systemic resistance by suppressing miR825/825 and activating defense-related genes in Arabidopsis显示文摘Small RNAs play an important role in plant immune responses. However, their regulatory function in induced systemic resistance(ISR) is nascent. Bacillus cereus AR156 is a plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium that induces ISR in Arabidopsis against bacterial infection. Here,by comparing small RNA profiles of Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato(Pst) DC3000-infected Arabidopsis with and without AR156 pretreatment, we identified a group of Arabidopsis micro RNAs(mi RNAs) that are differentially regulated by AR156 pretreatment. mi R825 and mi R825 are two mi RNA generated from a single mi RNA gene.Northern blot analysis indicated that they were significantly downregulated in Pst DC3000-infected plants pretreated with AR156, in contrast to the plants without AR156 pretreatment. mi R825 targets two ubiquitin-protein ligases,while mi R825 targets toll-interleukin-like receptor(TIR)-nucleotide binding site(NBS) and leucine-rich repeat(LRR)type resistance(R) genes. The expression of these target genes negatively correlated with the expression of mi R825 and mi R825. Moreover, transgenic plants showing reduced expression of mi R825 and mi R825 displayed enhanced resistance to Pst DC3000 infection, whereas transgenic plants overexpressing mi R825 and mi R825 were more susceptible. | 5 | Layer-block tectonics of Cenozoic basements and formation of intra-plate basins in Nansha micro-plate, southern South China Sea显示文摘Layer-block tectonics (LBT) concept, with the core of pluralistic geodynamic outlook and multi- layer-sliding tectonic outlook, is one of new keys to study 3-dimensional solid and its 4-dimensional evolution history of global tectonic system controlled by global geodynamics system. The LBT concept is applied to study the lithospheric tectonics of the southern South China Sea (SCS). Based on the analysis of about 30 000 km of geophysical and geological data, some layer-blocks in the Nansha micro-plate can be divided as Nansha ultra-crustal layer-block, Zengmu crustal layer-block, Nanwei (Rifleman bank)-Andu (Ardasier bank) and Liyue (Reed bank)-North Palawan crustal layer-blocks, Andu-Bisheng and Liyue-Banyue basemental layer-blocks. The basic characteristics of the basemental layer-blocks have been dicussed, and three intra-plate basin groups are identified. The intra-plate basins within Nansha micro-plate can be divided into three basin groups of NanweiAndu, Feixin-Nanhua, and Liyue-North Palawan based on the different geodynamics. In the light of pluralistic geodynamic concept, the upheaving force induced by the mid-crust plastic layer is proposed as the main dynamical force which causes the formation of the intra-plate basins within the Nansha micro-plate. | 9 | Nanoporous Au-Sn with solute strain for simultaneously enhanced selectivity and durability during electrochemical CO2 reduction显示文摘Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction meditated by metallic catalysts suffers from restricted selectivity and competition from hydrogen evolution, which sensitively depends on ambiguous contributions of alloying and strain state in bimetallic catalysts. Herein, nanoporous Au-Sn(NPAS) containing trace tin solute in Au lattices is delicately designed to convince real strain effect, while eliminating other undesirable factors, such as alloying, crystal facets and surface composition. Compared with nanoporous gold(NPG), the NPAS with a solute strain of ~2.2% enables more efficient CO2-to-CO conversion, with an efficiency as high as 92% at-0.85 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(vs. RHE), and the high activity can retain for more than 8 h. The combination of HRTEM and surface valence band photoemission spectra reveals that the tensile strain on the surface of 3 D nanoporous structure promotes the catalytic activity by shifting up the d-band center and strengthening the adsorption of key intermediate *COOH. | 13 | Nitrogen addition delays the emergence of an aridity-induced threshold for plant biomass显示文摘Crossing certain aridity thresholds in global drylands can lead to abrupt decays of ecosystem attributes such as plant productivity,potentially causing land degradation and desertification.It is largely unknown,however,whether these thresholds can be altered by other key global change drivers known to affect the water-use efficiency and productivity of vegetation,such as elevated CO_(2) and nitrogen(N).Using>5000 empirical measurements of plant biomass,we showed that crossing an aridity(1–precipitation/potential evapotranspiration)threshold of∼0.50,which marks the transition from dry sub-humid to semi-arid climates,led to abrupt declines in aboveground biomass(AGB)and progressive increases in root:shoot ratios,thus importantly affecting carbon stocks and their distribution.N addition significantly increased AGB and delayed the emergence of its aridity threshold from 0.49 to 0.55(P<0.05).By coupling remote sensing estimates of leaf area index with simulations from multiple models,we found that CO_(2) enrichment did not alter the observed aridity threshold.By 2100,and under the RCP 8.5 scenario,we forecast a 0.3%net increase in the global land area exceeding the aridity threshold detected under a scenario that includes N deposition,in comparison to a 2.9%net increase if the N effect is not considered.Our study thus indicates that N addition could mitigate to a great extent the negative impact of increasing aridity on plant biomass in drylands.These findings are critical for improving forecasts of abrupt vegetation changes in response to ongoing global environmental change. | Hailing Li César Terrer Miguel Berdugo Fernando T.Maestre Zaichun Zhu Josep Peñuelas Kailiang Yu Lin Luo Jie-Yu Gong Jian-Sheng Ye | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,11: | 0 |

| 17 | A metal ions-mediated natural small molecules carrier-free injectable hydrogel achieving laser-mediated photo-Fenton-like anticancer therapy by synergy apoptosis/cuproptosis/anti-inflammation显示文摘Tumor microenvironment (TME) plays an important role in the tumorigenesis, proliferation, invasion and metastasis. Thereby developing synergistic anticancer strategies with multiple mechanisms are urgent. Copper is widely used in the treatment of tumor chemodynamic therapy (CDT) due to its excellent laser-mediated photo- Fenton-like reaction. Additionally, copper can induce cell death through cuproptosis, which is a new modality different from the known death mechanisms and has great promise in tumor treatment. Herein, we report a natural small molecules carrier-free injectable hydrogel (NCTD Gel) consisted of Cu2+-mediated self-assembled glycyrrhizic acid (GA) and norcantharidin (NCTD), which are mainly governed by coordination and hydrogen bonds. Under 808 nm laser irradiation, NCTD Gel can produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), consume glutathione (GSH) and overcome hypoxia in TME, leading to synergistically regulate TME via apoptosis, cuproptosis and anti-inflammation. In addition, NCTD Gel’s CDT display high selectivity and good biocompatibility as it relies on the weak acidity and H2O2 overexpression of TME. Notably, NCTD Gel’s components are originated from clinical agents and its preparation process is easy, green and economical, without any excipients. | 19 | Hydrogel electrodes with conductive and substrate-adhesive layers for noninvasive long-term EEG acquisition显示文摘Noninvasive brain–computer interfaces (BCIs) show great potential in applications including sleep monitoring, fatigue alerts, neurofeedback training, etc. While noninvasive BCIs do not impose any procedural risk to users (as opposed to invasive BCIs), the acquisition of high-quality electroencephalograms (EEGs) in the long term has been challenging due to the limitations of current electrodes. Herein, we developed a semidry double-layer hydrogel electrode that not only records EEG signals at a resolution comparable to that of wet electrodes but is also able to withstand up to 12 h of continuous EEG acquisition. The electrode comprises dual hydrogel layers: a conductive layer that features high conductivity, low skin-contact impedance, and high robustness;and an adhesive layer that can bond to glass or plastic substrates to reduce motion artifacts in wearing conditions. Water retention in the hydrogel is stable, and the measured skin-contact impedance of the hydrogel electrode is comparable to that of wet electrodes (conductive paste) and drastically lower than that of dry electrodes (metal pin). Cytotoxicity and skin irritation tests show that the hydrogel electrode has excellent biocompatibility. Finally, the developed hydrogel electrode was evaluated in both N170 and P300 event-related potential (ERP) tests on human volunteers. The hydrogel electrode captured the expected ERP waveforms in both the N170 and P300 tests, showing similarities in the waveforms generated by wet electrodes. In contrast, dry electrodes fail to detect the triggered potential due to low signal quality. In addition, our hydrogel electrode can acquire EEG for up to 12 h and is ready for recycled use (7-day tests). | 20 | A simple fluorescent sensor for highly sensitive detection of UO_(2)2+显示文摘Extensive application of nuclear energy has caused widespread environmental uranium contamination.New detection approaches without complicated sample pretreatment and precision instruments are in demand for on-site and in-time determination of uranyl ions in environmental monitoring, especially in an emergency situation. In this work, a simple and effective fluorescent sensor(Z)-N’-hydroxy-4-(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)benzimidamide(TPE-A) with aggregation-induced emission(AIE) character was established and studied. It could realize to detect UO_(2)2+via quenching the fluorescence of its aggregation-induced emission, with good selectivity and sensitivity. Such strategy shows a wide linear range from 5.0 × 10^(-8)mol/L to 4.5 × 10^(-7)mol/L(R^(2)= 0.9988) with exceptional sensitivity reaching 4.7 × 10^(-9)mol/L, which is far below the limit for uranium in drinking water(30 μg/L, ca. 1.1 × 10-7mol/L) stipulated by the WHO.A response time less than four minutes make it rapid for uranyl ion measurement. It was applied for detection of uranyl ion in spiked river water samples with recoveries in the range of 98.7%-104.0%, comparable to those obtained by ICP-MS.
