1Biodegradation of organochlorine pesticide endosulfan by bacterial strain Alcaligenes faecalis JBW4显示文摘The recently discovered endosulfan-degrading bacterial strain Alcaligenes faecalis JBW4 was isolated from activated sludge. This strain is able to use endosulfan as a carbon and energy source. The optimal conditions for the growth of strain JBW4 and for biodegradation by this strain were identified, and the metabolic products of endosulfan degradation were studied in detail. The maximum level of endosulfan biodegradation by strain JBW4 was obtained using broth at an initial pH of 7.0, an incubation temperature of 40°C and an endosulfan concentration of 100 mg/L. The concentration of endosulfan was determined by gas chromatography. Strain JBW4 was able to degrade 87.5% of α-endosulfan and 83.9% of β-endosulfan within 5 days. These degradation rates are much higher than the previously reported bacterial strains. Endosulfan diol and endosulfan lactone were the major metabolites detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry; endosulfan sulfate, which is a persistent and toxic metabolite, was not detected. These results suggested that A. faecalis JBW4 degrades endosulfan via a non-oxidative pathway. The biodegradation of endosulfan by A. faecalis is reported for the first time. 2Application of Singular Value Decomposition(SVD)to the Extraction of Gravity Anomalies Associated with Ag-Pb-Zn-W Polymetallic Mineralization in the Bozhushan Ore Field,Southwestern China显示文摘The Bozhushan Ore Field,located at the western margin of the South China Block,is an important area for Ag-Pb-Zn-W polymetallic mineralization which may be associated with the Late Cretaceous granitic magmaism.In this paper,the singular value decomposition(SVD)was effectively applied to decompose gravity data at scale of 1:50000 within the Bozhushan Ore Field to extract deep ore-finding information.Two gravity anomaly images displaying different scales of the ore-controlling factors were obtained.(1)The low-pass filtered image may reflect the deeply buried geological structures,hidden intrusions and concealed ore bodies.The negative gravity anomaly may reflect the overall distribution of granite bodies in the Bozhushan Ore Field.One negative gravity anomaly area may correspond to the exposed part of the Baozhushan granitic intrusion and the other corresponds to the concealed part of the granitic intrusion.The granitic intrusions are the main ore-controlling factors in this ore district.(2)The band-pass filtered image depicts the shallow concealed geological structures and geological bodies within this study area.There are two obvious negative gravity anomalies,which may be created by the hidden granites at different depths at both northwestern and southeastern sides of the exposed granitic intrusion.Thus the two negative gravity anomalies are favorable prospecting areas for various type of polymetallic ore deposits at depth.The gravity anomalies extracted by using the SVD exactly reflect the distribution of the ore deposits,structures and intrusions,which will give new insights for further mineral exploration in the study area.Lingfen Guo Yongqing Chen Binbin Zhao 2021Journal of Earth Science2021,32,2:3

7Battery Voltage Discharge Rate Prediction and Video Content Adaptation in Mobile Devices on 3G Access Networks显示文摘According to Cisco, mobile multimedia services now account for more than half the total amount of Internet traffic. This trend is burdening mobile devices in terms of power consumption, and as a result, more effort is needed to devise a range of power-saving techniques. While most power-saving techniques are based on sleep scheduling of network interfaces, little has been done to devise multimedia content adaptation techniques. In this paper, we propose a multiple linear regression model that predicts the battery voltage discharge rate for several video send bit rates in a VoIP application. The battery voltage discharge rate needs to be accurately estimated in order to estimate battery life in critical VoIP contexts, such as emergency communication. In our proposed model, the range of video send bitrates is carefully chosen in order to maintain an acceptable VoIP quality of experience. 8Initial experience of laparoendoscopic single-site radical prostatectomy with a novel purpose-built robotic system显示文摘Objective This prospective single-arm clinical trial aimed to evaluated the feasibility and safety of the application of the SHURUI system(Beijing Surgerii Technology Co.,Ltd.,Beijing,China),a novel purpose-built robotic system,in single-port robotic radical prostatectomy.Methods Sixteen patients diagnosed with prostate cancer were prospectively enrolled in and underwent robotic radical prostatectomy from October 2021 to August 2022 by the SHURUI single-port robotic surgical system.The demographic and baseline data,surgical,oncological,and functional outcomes as well as follow-up data were recorded.Results The mean operative time was 226.3(standard deviation[SD]52.0)min,and the mean console time was 183.4(SD 48.3)min,with the mean estimated blood loss of 116.3(SD 90.0)mL.The mean length of postoperative hospital stay was 4.50(SD 0.97)days.Two patients had postoperative complications(Clavien-Dindo Grade II),and both patients improved after conservative treatment.All patients’postoperative prostate-specific antigen levels decreased to below 0.2 ng/mL 1 month after discharge.The mean prostate-specific antigen level further decreased to a mean of 0.0219(SD 0.0641)ng/mL 6 months after surgery.Thirty days postoperatively,12 out of 16 patients reported using no more than one urinary pad per day,and all patients reported satisfactory urinary control without the need for pads 6 months after surgery.Conclusion The SHURUI system is safe and feasible in performing radical prostatectomy via both transperitoneal and extraperitoneal approaches.Tumor control and urinary continence were satisfying for patients enrolled in.The next phase involves conducting a large-scale,multicenter randomized controlled trial to thoroughly assess the effectiveness and safety of the new technology in a broader population.Zheng Wang Chao Zhang Chengwu Xiao Yang Wang Yu Fang Baohua Zhu Shouyan Tang Xiaofeng Wu Hong Xu Yi Zhou Lingfen Wu Zhenjie Wu Bo Yang Yi He Yi Liu Linhui Wang 2023Asian Journal of Urology2023,10,4:0

10How to Manage Multimedia Traffic:Based on QoE or QoT?显示文摘Internet of Things(IoT) applications such as environmental monitoring, healthcare, surveillance, event recognition and traffic control are amongst the most commonly deployed applications over the Internet. These applications involve multimedia content that has to be collected, processed and delivered appropriately over the Internet for further processing by human or machines. These applications come with their own set of requirements such as quality, computational power and bandwidth. It is, therefore, vital to minimize power consumption and bandwidth usage in IoT devices without compromising the quality of multimedia delivery. Since the delivery of the multimedia can be destined to a machine or human, it is important to distinguish multimedia quality between the two. Quality of Experience(QoE) for video services involves human visual system, but what will involve a machine or process?To distinguish between the two, this paper defines a new concept of Acceptable Quality of Things(AQoT) which involves IoT devices and their applications. AQoT aims at minimizing bandwidth without compromising quality in IoT devices. 11APPLICATION OF ELECTRICAL IMPEDANCE MYOGRAPHY IN CHARACTERIZING CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME显示文摘Background:Electrical impedance myography(EIM)is a non-invasive,painless,and easy-to-perform technique for assessing neuromuscular disorders.We evaluated the potential of EIM for quantitatively characterizing carpal tunnel syndrome(CTS).Methods:Healthy subjects and patients with differing severity of CTS underwent EIM measurement of their small hand muscles.A bioelectrical impedance vector analysis(BIVA)method was first applied to display 50-kHz EIM data in a single plot.Results:Patients with more severe CTS had smaller EIM values in the affected muscle.The reactance and phase parameters differed significantly between any two groups(P<0.05).Their accuracy for differentiating between any two adjacent groups was approximately 80%and for other groups was approximately 90%.There was a strong association between EIM and electrophysiology results.Conclusion:BIVA is convenient and helpful for indicating the differences between healthy subjects and CTS patients.These results demonstrate EIM’s potential for quantitatively characterizing patients with CTS.Chen Lingfen Li Zhao Zhu Yu Yang Ling Hu Shiming Chai Chunlin Tan Manqing Yu Yude Tian Dong 2019现代电生理学杂志2019,26,B03:0
12Turn of Literary Creation with Worldly Feelings and Realism Today:Taking Liang Xiaosheng's Novel A Lifelong Journey for Example显示文摘It is an important proposition of contemporary realist literature creation to be close to the mundane lifestyles in reality and write about the Chinese experience.From the far-reaching heroic narration of the early years,to the Chinese stories since the 21st century,the realist literature creation deals with the mundane daily life,showing a turn towards worldly feelings.Liang Xiaosheng's novel A Lifelong Journey extends the perspective to the living space of ordinary people in the cities.Unlike the epic depiction of'regretless heroes'in the zhiqing novels from his earlier years,Liang makes a shift to the writing of worldly feelings about the warmth in reality.While writing about the hardships in reality,this novel continues to construct stories of good people and adheres to the ethical positioning of good people culture.The two generate a conflict with each other throughout the text,forming the narrative tension.However,governed by the emotional structure of the good people culture,the novel lacks the expression of complex human nature while putting a focus on the mundane existence.JIANG Lasheng GONG Lingfen 2022Frontiers of Literary Studies in China-Selected Publications from Chinese Universities2022,16,1:0
